Anti-US Protests Spread To India, Bangladesh, Indonesia

Tyler Durden's picture

Did we say Arab Fall? We meant global fall. From the Star Tribune: "Thousands of Kashmiri Muslims protested Friday against an anti-Islam film, burning U.S. flags and calling President Barack Obama a "terrorist," while the top government cleric here reportedly demanded Americans leave the volatile Indian-controlled region immediately. In the southern Indian city of Chennai, protesters threw stones at the U.S. Consulate, shattering some windows and burning Obama in effigy. Police quickly cleared the area, arresting more than 100 protesters. U.S. Embassy officials in Delhi did not immediately comment." And elsewhere: "In Bangladesh, about 5,000 hardline Muslims marched in Dhaka's streets after Friday prayers, burning U.S. and Israeli flags and calling for the death of the filmmaker. Police prevented them from marching toward the U.S. Embassy several miles away." And elsewhere: "In Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation, about 200 protesters chanted slogans and held up signs in a largely peaceful protest outside the heavily guarded U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. American diplomatic outposts increased security worldwide this week after clips of the film went viral online and sparked violent protests in the Middle East. About 20 protesters outside the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, shouted "Allahu akbar!" and handed reporters a letter addressed to the U.S. ambassador expressing their anger over the movie and calling for greater respect for religions."

Many more coming, providing a convenient cover to launch a defensive strategy against the entire Muslim world. Or something like that.

It's all under control though. 50 or so marines are on their way.

And let's not forget the silver lining: Ben Bernanke will single-handedly "stimulate" the US economy, and this time not by diluting its currency, but by printing replacement US flags for all those being currently burned down in literally half the world, and rising.

That would require having an infrastructure that lasts longer than five years.  With power grids collapsing, poor resources management, overly large human population in all nations...I'm getting the feeling there are still some people in the TPTB attempting to attempt a softer landing.  It's going to be very rough especially with a near 100% crop failure in corn, wheat, Hay (something I never thought I would see, ever) in the Ottawa Valley.  Plus with my trip out to the east coast...add apples, barley, rice, cow corn and potatoes.

Credit is only given if anyone is left to remember or care.

I recently drove through some of those apple crops - the fragrance!

given that apple pectin has been proven to cleanse "nuclear toxins" from the body, particularly children, I'd be putting them up for long-term storage.

As a complement to standard radioprotection measures, apple-pectin preparations have been given especially in Ukraine to reduce the Cs-137 uptake in children. Pectin acts by binding to the radionuclide in the gut to block its absorption. The question was raised as to whether pectin might also be useful in clearing it from tissues. Caesium is chemically similar to potassium, and therefore has a wide distribution in tissues and cells, and is also excreted in urine.

Apple Pectin for Radioprotection

we've been gathering the "road apples" (apples no one bothers to pick, roadside trees where the fruit sits), slice, dehydrate, share. . .

"gleaning" indeed!  that's what we call it too, heh.

sooo much food goes un-used, un-seen even - supermarkets regularly cull produce un-selected for mere blemishes. . . smart folks set up deals to collect these un-desirables to make use of, whether for personal consumption, chickens, livestock, or composting.

CSA's (community supported ag) frequently allow for gleaners to come in and clear up after harvest - great pickin' !

I have to say these protests make Muslims look like the least educated and archaic people in the World. The movie obviously has nothing to do with the US or US policy.

When the exposure and subsequent media coverage was pre-planned by the US government for the explicit purpose of inciting the muslims to do this. As consequently probably paid off some terrorist groups to kill off a US ambassador to create a false flag for war. It has quite a lot to do with US policy.

No a conspiracy guy but this one does have some weird hands all over it.

1.The film doesn't exist, it is just a 2 min trailer.

2. The MSM can't even get the film right, the producer right, his religion right, but boy they had a lot of incorrect information to get the fire started.  Originally it was a Jewish American, now we find out it's an Egyptian Copt?  No really, this time we really know.

3. The actors/actresses did not speak the lines in the clip, they were dubbed.

Then the US State Dept. comes out with a disclaimer before there was ever a riot in the first place. Meanwhile we have the Libyan issue where they knew where our "safe house" was and attacked it in force with rockets, mortars and grenades? Using the mob as a cover?  This one almost looks like it was set up for one thing and one thing only... to inflame the ME.

My only question is who did it and why? Was it the Brotherhood to get the US to back down and create some more space between the US and Israel? Do we want to stir this up by backing Israel if they attack Iran, even if we just back them verbally?  There are lots of different ways this one can be spun, which is why it's so interesting.

Fri, 09/14/2012 - 12:21 | 2795402 Obnoxio
Obnoxio's picture

My point is that when a group of people is so easily manipluated by posting a film on the Internet it makes me question their intelligence. If the Muslim groups were directly protesting US policy in Iran or somewhere else it would have a logical basis and would be understandable. I guess when blasphemy is still a crime you have to question how advanced a country is. Posting a film is such an indirect act, how could anyone be sure the desired reaction would happen. There is plenty to protest in US policy but this film has nothing to do with it in my opinion.

I would beg to differ.

Things like the staged sadam statue being pulled down, this video, that cartoon, the film in the Netherlands, etc are all quite inexpensive to produce.

Look at the 10s of billions and more billions  after that given to pakistan- and they cannot do anything for the USA, they still hate the US.

Big gifts are really not effective, its the "guerrilla marketing" that seems to work best, small carbomb planted by the CIA in a market, a cheap Israeli film, grass roots stuff.

It's cheap now - that was the point of the investment. The investment in cajoling Pakistan has clearly not paid off. Sticks and subversion seem to be a lot more cost effective.

CNN - The Case For Outsourcing Jobs

http://money.cnn.com/2012/09/14/news/economy/outsourcing-jobs/index.html...

Full of absolute brilliance like:

"For example, if Apple  can knock, say, $100 off the cost of producing the iPhone by making it in China as opposed to the United States, the company is then apt to spend that $100 in hiring people in other parts of its businesses -- such as sales, marketing or design."

HHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA The ignorance is epic.

The truth:

If Apple can say, knock $100 off the cost of producing the iPhone in China as opposed to the United States, the company is apt to keep that $100 in a foreign bank account, or use it to fiance share buybacks from directors, so they can buy new yachts.

Remember the dot-com bubble that burst in 2000? Tens of thousands of american IT jobs were lost. When things picked up again, were these people rehired? Nooooooooooooo. Either those jobs were outsourced to Asia or whereever or Microsoft et al pleaded that the government issue more H1 visas because there was a 'shortage' of qualified workers. It is pathetic how our industry leaders conspire with the idiots in government to either set up some under the table agreements with foreign governments or to simply and artifically keep inflation cosmetically low.

A) Crop insurance taxpayer-subsidized estimated at $15 billion for year (this is just taxpayer subsidized INSURANCE claims, not counting other taxpayer funded subsidies that will be used to cover losses or buy bad crops)

B) Total for year estimated at $25 billion in claims

C) The U.S. Dept of Agriculture changed the rules of the ins. game last year, lowering farmers' insurance premiums based on the idea that genetically modified crops and technology made crops more drought resistant.  "Not only that, the agency adjusted yields for those crops upwards to reflect recent trends"

and the stupidity goes on.....

Will be interesting to see the exposure insurance co's have to crop-insurance claims losses.  Which companies are exposed and how much?

All this termoil is secondary. Bernanke and his printing press is the real threat to America. I wish to Alla that this Muslims would go after Bernanke, he is "The Printer" that is causing mass food price inflation in the Middle East. If their kids are hungry, they can thank "The Printer" who is flooding liquidity to speculators who park it in markets and commodities.

Bernanke prints "Oil and Food" rise.

Thank Allah that the voice of the Religion of Peace will condemn their radical brothers for murder and mayhem.

Waiting...

Just goes to show how you can invade countries, do a little collateral damage, funnel arms and fund insurrections and hardly get a reaction but when Big Mo gets a lousy film review, they completely lose their shit.

Ever get the feeling that these Islamo-fascist Muslims really don't think like the rest of us at all?

Well, maybe just the guys running the moneychanger clown show. They have very similar goals.

Submit and obey the Greater Power.

Just goes to show ya that peoples of the world can not be duped by US propaganda like US citizens.

How would US like it if these countries were occupying our land?

How would US folk like it if CIA-like agencies from these countries was drumming up trouble all the time here?

How would US folk like it if foreign countries came over and exploited local resources?

This may be a tipping point as the US can not bomb/beat everyone in all these countries into submission.

You can only abuse people so long before they rise up as they have nothing to lose.

So ironic that the behavior of the radicals who think their religion has been slandered is EXACTLY what the makers of that video were "documenting." You could not have asked for a better response from Islam to such garbage if you tried. A completely obscure film is mainstreamed by radicals protesting it, I had never heard of it and my friends had not either till they decided to start killing Americans over it. But, as with ANY religion, you can't win with those dirtbags. Their magical thinking and paranoid delusions can justify any kind of barbaric action.

Of course, it is not possible that the crew that came up with this film also thought to have assets in place to stir things up. Nah, they wouldn't do that would they?

Ron Paul (and plenty of others) has been talking about the consequences of imperialism and colonialism for many years, that we actually see it manifest occasionally should be no surprise, nor should the attitudes and opinions of these people come as a shock to anyone who has been paying attention for even 5 minutes.

The US, Israel, and most of Europe have a terroristic neo-colonial foreign policy of oppression and exploitation, and these people are on the receiving end of it. If you live in a Western nation you benefit from it whether you have the moral integrity to admit it or not.

Recuding this to racism, xenophobia, religious hatred, etc. is reactionary moral cowardice in the face of a peasant rebellion. As nations, we will reap what we have sown, the question is, will you be a good sheep and happily toe the party line, or will you discover moral courage, maybe some integrity and honesty, and realize that the world is being run by sociopaths who are literally laughing at you and your pathetic, petty in-fighting while they quietly pillage and destroy whole nations with impunity, safe in their knowledge that none will lift a finger against them.
