Please excuse the on-topic comment on the content, but I thought "Apple TV" were actually televisions with special Apple features? What is $99 exactly? Is it some sort of box interface you install on your existing TV? Or is that price supposed to be $999?

It won't be viable until Apple gets content deals like Netflix and can offer monthly subscriptions. Their current a la carte model, charging 1.99 to watch one tv episode, doesn't sit right with me. I'm not alone on that.

Im pretty sure no one thought Jobs was a great guy. Great innovater maybe, great guy never. Do some research on first hand business relationships, Jobs is famously known for firing people on the spot for minor snafu's, driving his subordinates to exhausted insanity and general a-hole behavior.
Their fault for working for an asshole like him. Facebook has taken over Apple as the shittiest place to work in tech....well this side of China at least.
A lot of what you said about Jobs could also apply to Pat Riley, James Cameron, Vince Lombardi, Stanley Kubrick, Bill Gates, Frank Lloyd Wright and just about anybody that is in charge of creating something that requires many people to come together to accomplish it successfully. It goes with the territory. Sometimes you gotta scream and shout to get shit done. If you don't think that's true then you've never been in that position...nor will you ever be.

Henry Ford, an American Hero, paid his men $5 a day..enough so that they themselves could afford a car. How did he do it? He made them productive enough to afford the wage given. Perhaps Foxconn employees are also productive..where is their fair wage? .. apple decided no, we'll take the profit instead. This is why /henry Ford is my hero.
He also used the leverage this level of pay provided to attempt to control the private lives of his workers in an effort to civilize them.
So I'd say his altruism was no better than anyone else who believes they can control others for their own good, rather than providing them with the liberty to make their own choices in a moral manner. His efforts have been enslaving mankind for a hundred years now.
We are far worse off as a result.

I have an HP touchpad tablet. I just dont get the craze of tablets. If its only for reading and consumption as a separate device, I get it. Typing on those things are freakin terrible, email/forums/typing in urls/search etc... Of course I ended up buying a bluetooth keyboard. Now the tablet sits in its wireless charger at home as an expensive clock by my bed. It could be nice device for travel, but if I'm traveling I'll have a fully functional laptop anyway.
The new ultra books that are full function laptops are light and thin, and some will have a tablet touch screen that folds completely over. Everything you want and need in one device at around 1000 bucks.
What are people actually using tablets for? Is the device actually replacing others? Isnt everyone else sick of typing on a tablet in about 3 min after they open the damn thing?
