Are Big Crude Price Swings Coming?
Some curious headlines just out from the ICE via BBG:
- ICE TO LIMIT BRENT, WTI PRICE MOVEMENT $1.25/BBL FOR 5 SECONDS
- ICE TO SET INTERVAL PRICE LIMITS ON CRUDE, GASOIL FROM APRIL 1
- ICE TO LIMIT GASOIL PRICE MOVEMENT $10 A TON FOR 5 SECONDS
Either SkyNet is about to take over the last bastion - the commodities market, or the ICE knows something we dont... Or this is just a completely coincidence.

it's time for WAR people!
Israelis Grow Confident Strike on Iran’s Nukes Can Work

fools.
Petro currency crisis coming.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-03-15/u-s-may-sanction-india-over-level-of-iran-oil-imports.html
Countries are going their own way on oil and threats are accelerating the matter.
And fomenting the destabilization of China is not going to address the issue.
that is what governments are supposed to do... represent their own people's interests, not the U.S/Israel/Euro fascist banker elite. So now what, bomb India? Pakistan (oh wait, already doing that), Japan? China? The U.S. can't go broke fast enough to end this madness.
"it's time for WAR people!"
Stop the propaganda please.
War with Iran is the oil / currency cover story.
Much bigger issue at play.
delete duplicate
with Chineese army busy with a coup at home... another coincidence
Oh, for fuck sake. There have been big crude swings in every fucking commodity possible as the smart algos whipsaw the market at their leisure to generate volatility to rake in the moolah. Hopefully, they all drown in their paper shit trading when the trading ship sinks. Meanwhile, only the holders of physical assets will get to ride high and dry throughout the financial shit storm that is coming. Let them eat paper ! Buy the fucking dips, and shove fiat and stock certificates right up their arrogant Romney Mittens asses !
IMF, Lagarde warns of 30% oil spike...

One thing I've learned in life is there are no coincidences.
Truer words have never been spoken, especially with things like oil. Which top dude at the CIA said that "nothing of major significance is a coincidence, everything is planned"? I remember it being quite a while ago.
John Foster Dulles
They always know something we don't. That's one of the ways we are enslaved.
What do those mean in english please?
Buy AAPL!
I think it mean buy more freeze dried food.
Gee, I wonder who gets to front run during that delay? Hmmm...
+1 genius!
What do those mean in english please?
Limit up.
thanks
could this be a legit way to stop order splitting?
It means that they are limiting high freq. trading ranges. Less price movement, less flash crashs / levitations from HFT computers...
They just don't want the US Gov HFTs robbing them personally because they are probably long.
People are anticipating SHTF. Skynet is worried we're about to see a flash smash and oil hits $10,000 per barrel.
So, why is this?
A) War
B) Dollar devaluation
C) A and B
D) evil speculators
e) ANWAR is drying up.
Maybe we should ask the Israelis?
Yes - aka MIDEASTCOM aka Israels our B**** - do what we say or else Bibi
Iran? Syria? All of the above?
Saudi says they can provide lots of supply today + ICE announcement + France and US elections this year = Attack on Iran imminent.
GG
Where do the Russians on the ground in Syria and the tussle for power in China come into play? I'm eating a lot of Gaviscon the last few days
I am really not qualified to have this opinion ... but ...
The base in Syria is strategically very important to Russia. By upping the garrison there, they send a signal to NOT fuck with their base. Maybe Assad goes bye bye, but don't fuck with our base.
As far as China and India goes, with regards to Iranian oil, I can only assume they are being handled through diplomatic channels. All the probably care about is getting their oil.
Regards,
Cooter
Totally. I'm so cynical these days I actually think France Intel could have planted that whole "Jewish" attack to co-incide with a War on Iran. I know, I know...
In any case the seed has been set in Europe once again with the old Jewish divide and conquer play. (Its actually painful to see how transparent these plays are these days).
Cue public mass hysteria over a sure to be found "Iranian" anti semite so said public is on board for the War effort.
Add crippling pump prices / inflation and derivative expected public outrage.
Result = Justifed Iraninan War.
p.s. Just dont mention the nukes or lack of nukes - its not important.
What is the limits for price movement over there on the Tayran Bourse?
It means that war is pretty close. The limit moves are to prevent total panic when the war in the Middle East starts.
But for 5 seconds? Where is the limit? Wait hold 1,2,3,4,5 Do I have that wrong?
HFT Algos?
Regards,
Cooter
So there were no limits before?

Sooooo, ahhhh, Time to short oil? If you'd like to, I'll buy...
5 Seconds? 1.25 for 5 seconds?
I don't watch the ticks on OIL, but is there ANY justification whatsoever for that kind of control? Even going back to the 2008 plunge?
Yes, the shit is in the air and headed directly to the fan.
On a larger scale, that means $15 per minute. And 5 seconds is an eternity for a computer issuing 2000 orders per second.
might be sheeple are getting awaked why during warmest 2 months on record,
gas is over $4 per gallon..
alx
Next move is for the FED to flood commodity pits with sell orders, so that the spikes in gold, oil, copper, and ags will seem less scary when the war starts.
War will cause spikes upward in gold and oil. Central bankers will use the occasion to offload their gold at a profit to bolster reserves for future debt Ponzi-ing.
Operation For Great Justice coins?
will this be on QVC? I would so want that.
There is no such thing as "coincidence" in this market.
There is no such thing as "market" in this market.
I want Nancy Pelosi to get her stretched tight suitcase luggage leather excuse of a face and thank speculators for oil going down today.
Fucking dumb twat.
Implementation for Skynet commodity control begins on April 1st. First moonless nights in April are on the 21st. So figure a range of April 20th thru 23rd as being the best times to begin an air strike. I would bet we see other evidence of preparation along with this though. And more disinformation as well to keep everyone on their toes. And look for something to happen a week or two before which really paints Iran as the bad guy in order to polarize public opinion. These things are planned well in advance (and if the fact that we've surrounded Iran with military bases isn't conformation of that then I don't know what is).
Time to place Vix bets?
What in the HELL are you people talking about.
Bombing Iran to stop development of a nuclear bomb helps oil how?
Look, people, here is the meme of oil. "Production is down because there's not enough investment in places where . . . production might be down."
Iran has been pumping oil for 70 years. How the FUCK long did you think that could go on? Why would investment change the INEVITABILITY of Iranian oil production declines? It could find a bit more here and there, if you poured money into drilling more wells (that is what "more investment" means, btw, drill more wells, not to *find* more oil, just to access the smaller and smaller pockets of what is already known to be there).
So you hold off the decline for a year doing that. Big fucking deal. What does that change about the I word -- Inevitability.
This is absurd. War isn't going to change this. You want to have a war that actually changes the oil situation? Then bomb China, depopulate it and achieve the consequent loss of their consumption. That's the only way.
Using the "fail safe scenario" we will need to offer up a quid pro quo. I nominate either DC, NY or London (actually all 3 would be best).
Why not get Jerusalem and the Vatican, while one's at it.
wrt your question:
good idea; but, it's just there's nobody to do it; that's the whole problem; who's gonna do it?
You forgot Mecca. It's the only way to be sure.
Iran's attack on the US Dollars' status as the reserve currency might be the actual reason for these preliminary steps to war. TPTB may not be okay with Iran and India settling Oil purchases in Gold.
The fact that the US twisted the arm of SWIFT to chuck out Iran - so that they can make and receive no more payments in dollars or anything else - does not exactly back up this meme about the dollar's sanctity as reserve currency.
The oil purchases will be made with rupees that will be repatriated for Indian exports. When rupees are an acceptable medium of exchange for the two parties involved, why would India volunteer their gold?
And besides, how the fuck much gold do you think India has that they can buy oil with? Pull your head out; even the most gold-rich country in the world, nor any others, could afford to buy even a year's consumption of oil with their gold reserves at present market value. Now, WHY would any country sell off all their gold reserves for less than a year of oil?
Its not just about the oil. Its about the combination of the control of oil along with various currencies around the globe. The US and by extension the western powers can't keep other countries under the western thumb if we don't control their energy and limit their own control of their finances. Therefor the US dollar king will only live on if we can control the oil. Iran still has the number 2 or 3 reserves worldwide. They are one of the most important players in here and will become even more important as oil production rates decline.
The one last aspect we truly dominate with is our military and guess what, if you have a hammer...............
Iran is looking like one big nail!
Good points, but keep in mind, The people who control the US Military are globalist in their outlook.
Which is why, one way or another, ALL nation states will fail during WWIII. Sure, there may be remnants left here and there, but they will quickly succumb to "The New World Order."
After all, it's written all over the Denver Airport, the creepiest place on the planet.
Hell no....way too obvious.....its the virus. Plausible denial there. Yes, and there are waaaaay too many in the USA as well......( fixes the pension and medicare problem in a hurry......all sorts of intended consequences
But war deflects the blame from the CBs/ printing press to the ME.
Or bomb yourself and really cut consumption and knock out a populace that has everything except money for future consumption
or take two billion in the developed world and the other four billion have a future of peace
or knock out all communication and let the world rest for a few years from all of this bullshit hyperbole
Thanks Crassh----any chance of just letting all of this masdness go? om
It's all numbers, old guy.
As best I can compute, the planet can feed about 1 billion people without oil to get cropland plowed and relying on oxen instead.
If only 1 billion are going to survive, and you're American, you try to make perhaps 200 million of them American. You do that by hurrying the process along with the non Americans.
That's assuming you're patriotic, of course.
Then bomb China, depopulate it and achieve the consequent loss of their consumption. That's the only way.
We do not start "POLICE" actions with folks capable of being our equals.
MADD
"This is absurd. War isn't going to change this. You want to have a war that actually changes the oil situation? Then bomb China, depopulate it and achieve the consequent loss of their consumption. That's the only way."
How about a war on obesity and supersizing. Seems to me the whole oil crisis is due to unbridled American overconsumption. Dude... Americans have it good. Food and fuel is dirt cheap for the volumes that you can get. For christssake - you guys even have All you can eat KFC down in Florida.

War with Iran is coming. With it a huge spike up in crude.
and with it everything else that depends on transportation to get to you. Time to plant your garden...if you hadn't done so already.
Sweet! It'll only take 3 minutes for 300$ a barrel!
these measures of rapid price movement are being brought in to stop the so called "FAT FINGER " trade . A few weeks back Brent saw a $2 rally then a $2 drop in less than 120 seconds . it was so fast that us humans could not enter sell orders quick enough . The measures may slow the machines down and creat a more orderly market (sarc.)
120 seconds is long enough for me. I will play golf with Mr. Fat Finger any time. Bring him on.
I WANT OFF THIS PLANET NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, just had to get it out of my system.
And now for an important update..
Dancing with the stars commences in 3,2,1,...
Why don't they limit price movements on everything to only once per second... that would get rid of the HFTs very fast as they would find it so tedious and not enough available seconds in the day with which to con human life forms
Wasn't 120 oil one of Goldman's "best ideas" for 2012?
get rid of HFTs - but they are the market . The volumes they do and fees they pay they control ICE and the other exchanges.
Q the article form the Sentance this morning talking about central banks intervening in the commodity markets
From the FT this am:
"Given that central banks can’t “print commodities”, or for that matter release commodity inventories into the market — direct influence on commodity expectations would otherwise only be achievable via the futures market. But even here it would be hugely imprudent for banks to sell commodity futures if they didn’t have access to underlying inventories.
That said, there’s no reason why central banks couldn’t start buying commodity futures so as to anchor inflation expectations pre-emptively instead.
Once a large position on the futures market was acquired, central banks could then tweak supply and demand — a.k.a buy and sell — in such a way that commodity price expectations could begin to be centrally managed."

Yeah, like you never fxxxed a robot!
Peacetime martial lil scamBO exec order says checkmate. All the pieces are in place for an overnight event which will leave US citizens bag holders. FDR'd in April of 1933 and lil scamBO'd somewhere in the near future very soon. Certain economic ruin hits those unprepared as a thief in the night.
The problem is that there are still some huge unknowns in here. The first is whether or not Iran already has nukes under its belt, given to it from various other sources (North Korea, China, who knows). Case in point would be the Cuban Missal crises where, largely unknown to US intelligence agencies, the Cubans already had over 140 or so tactical nuclear warheads ready to go in case of a conflict. They had been transported by Russia long before the ICBM's were noticed on the ground in Cuba. And we didn't know it. Robert McNamara essentially admitted this in the Fog of War.
The Cuban Missle crises would have gone nuclear in a nano second. It almost did.
Scary Excerpt from Wikipedia:
In early 1992, it was confirmed that Soviet forces in Cuba had, by the time the crisis broke, received tactical nuclear warheads for their artillery rockets and Il-28 bombers.[72] Castro stated that he would have recommended their use if the US invaded despite knowing Cuba would be destroyed.[72]
Arguably the most dangerous moment in the crisis was only recognized during the Cuban Missile Crisis Havana conference in October 2002. Attended by many of the veterans of the crisis, they all learned that on October 26, 1962 the USS Beale had tracked and dropped signaling depth charges (the size of hand grenades) on the B-59, a Soviet Project 641 (NATO designation Foxtrot) submarine which, unknown to the US, was armed with a 15 kiloton nuclear torpedo. Running out of air, the Soviet submarine was surrounded by American warships and desperately needed to surface. An argument broke out among three officers on the B-59, including submarine captain Valentin Savitsky, political officer Ivan Semonovich Maslennikov, and Deputy brigade commander Captain 2nd rank (US Navy Commander rank equivalent) Vasili Arkhipov. An exhausted Savitsky became furious and ordered that the nuclear torpedo on board be made combat ready. Accounts differ about whether Commander Arkhipov convinced Savitsky not to make the attack, or whether Savitsky himself finally concluded that the only reasonable choice left open to him was to come to the surface.[73]:303, 317 During the conference Robert McNamara stated that nuclear war had come much closer than people had thought. Thomas Blanton, director of the National Security Archive, said, "A guy called Vasili Arkhipov saved the world."
The crisis was a substantial focus of the 2003 documentary, The Fog of War, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature
Unknown to you maybe. As for TPTB, yeah sure.
Skynet doesn't already control the commodity market???
WTF is with the trading volume insanity over the past few years in the commodity space then?
Unless up until two years ago the daily volume in the low thousands wasn't normal. I guess trading 600k contracts for corn every day is supposed to be normal instead of the 2000 contract a day average prior to 2009.
Don't expect something similar for precious metals!
The CME will be long since drained and defaulted before they figure out what damage price fixing did to them.

BESIDE, IT'S NOT SO MUCH OIL GOING UP, IS THAT FUCKING GREEN PIECE OF PAPER-PETROL-DOLLAR BUYING LESS AND LESS SHIT EVERY DAY...
It means a computer at GS can start a war. Comforting, eh?
April Fool's Day.I don't even want to think about it.
Guess Israel decided not to wait until after the election....
