The Troika went to bail out Europe's banks (for the nth time) and all we got was this postcard of night time Athens...

Truly horrific to see them burning their own country down.
What a sad sight. The system is broke, but this burning of your city, your country?
I hope when or if our turn comes, we are smarter than this.

Hope we hear from you brewing, you total & utter  f...wit,  when it's your town/city/trailer park/park bench burning.  Then, you'll be sobbing in a corner somewhere saying ,"Please Dear God, LET ME SURVIVE THIS!'

And 48 other total f...wits gave you a tick. Un-Be-Liev-Able!!!

Reading ZH makes more convinced than ever that there is absolutely NO HOPE for the world. We will have to go through  a shattering catharsis  and many won’t emerge on the other side.

If there’s any justice in the world (and there is) brewer and his green tick dumbo mates won’t make it. Then, the rest of us have a chance of something better in the  future.

Poor Greece.

But, we can learn a lesson from all of this.  Getting into debt is BAD!  Don't do it!  Of course we here in America have EACH TAXPAYER owing $125,000 just to cover each ones share of the debt.

We are not too far from being Greece...

Spike up/down at the open is normal fleecing business. They just processed a few market buy orders at the open and made the sheeple pay the max price. Now when they drop the price to scare them and sell the MM will pocket the money.  Spike down at the open is to grab the stop losses, then resell higher.

It's all a computerized game man in a casino rigged market. Physical metal will eventually decide the price, not an algorithm. I've been saying that for years and some year it will actually be true!

...Simple things happening all over Europe in exactly the same way. It was the same loansharking Goldman Sachs, that was financing the European Investment Bank and “connived" with Simitis the fiscal data of Greece, so that ECB would be justified to buy Greek bonds using Goldman Sachs money, so that Bobolas could undertake the overcost public works ...Bobolas, who was a Goldman Sachs’ partner ...it's a self-serving behavior ...and who pays for it? Fools of course! After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the loan sharks’ “trashes” have “flooded” Europe. This was the whole trick! Simple, quick and with minimum risk. They corrupted the political leaders of the European Union and they “flattened” everything. All these beasts –Pronti or Barroso- under the auspices of the loan sharks took important posts in the European mechanisms. Using the cheap borrowed dollars of Germany, they “printed” the cheap ECB Euro in Frankfurt. Using these cheap Euro they grasped the expensive Euro of the countries and turned it into debts. They eliminated the Euro securities and all that was left in the market was the Euro bonds. Euro value was stored in the ECB vaults and the countries were left with debts. That was the “game”!

Jeez haven't you guys learned?  They are going to keep bailing and bailing and keep punting the can down the road.  The bureaucrats depend on the status quo for their survival so there is no way they are letting Greece go down without doing everything in their power to keep things together.  They will lie, print, cajole and obfuscate in order to keep the EU going in its present form.

The ECB (or EFSF) will take a loss, they will somehow figure out how to get the least disruptive CAC in place and we'll be dealing with Greek fiscal irresponsibility six months and probably even a year from now.

Don't short equities or the Euro until the policy makers are out of ammo.  They are idiots and corrupt but they can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.

I don't know what the other poster is referring to (already happened?) but here is the rough sequence.  The Greeks pass their next round of austerity, next they will agree to the PSI (probably already done).

Next the Troika will fund them, however its unclear whether they will do it all at once or in tranches.  There is a thought that the IMF will want to do it in tranches to ensure that the Greeks don't falter or undo austerity after their April elections.  Frankly, its almost a mortal lock that one or both will happen.

So its not entirely clear whether they will make their March 20th payments.  Especially since they will still have to figure out what the PSI participation rate is and how the CACs (Collective Action Clauses) work.

There is still much that can go wrong here but as I said earlier, keeping Greece "alive" is in the best interests of those in power.  As such, they will do anything in their power to do so, even if it means re-writing laws and steamrolling their own constituents.

I'm surprised they are not madder. Its a terible thing that their government has done, bailed out the banks and heaped the burden of repayment on the working class of Greece. Ireland's people accepted the same treatment, look what they started. This is a shame, people should wake up- same thing is happening in US, nobody cares but ZH.

This is what happens when a country with a weak economy links in a currency union with a country with a strong economy. It's purely the polititions fault. The bankers just facilitated it. Prime Minister Lucas Papademos denounced the worst breakdown of order since 2008 when violence gripped Greece for weeks after police shot a 15-year-old schoolboy.

"Vandalism, violence and destruction have no place in a democratic country and won't be tolerated," he told parliament as it prepared to vote on the new 130 billion euro bailout to save Greece from a chaotic bankruptcy.

Papademos told lawmakers shortly before they voted that they would be gravely mistaken if they rejected the package that demands deep pay, pension and job cuts, as this would threaten Greece's place in the European mainstream.

"It would be a huge historical injustice if the country from which European culture sprang ... reached bankruptcy and was led, due to one more mistake, to national isolation and national despair," he said.

Yes let's blame the bankers. They FORCED the politicians to buy votes by hiring 51% of the population to sit around and do nothing 30 hours a day In return for wages 2x those in the pirate sector, full free health care and the right to retire at 45 with an annual pension 200% of your final salary because you worked overtime for 1 year.

Yes and those evil "banksters" are now demanding the 1st born child of every innocent and honest Greek. I heard each Goldman analyst is getting a slave as part of their bonus this year.

Horseshit. How the hell did the OWS hippies takeover this site? Where did the investors and Tea Party crowd go?

Austerity is the problem not the solution? The parasites are the victims not the problem. Capitalists and the rich are vampires? When did Paul Krugman buy this site?

Its entitled parasites that are killing Greece AND the US. You idiots are going to get Commrade O re-elected by throwing a temper tantrum when Ron Paul doesnt get the nomination.

Ive already seen a number of communist idiots bashing Romney as a bankster on this site. Just goes to show how stupid you are. You have no idea what a bank actually does and how it's different then PE. You also know NOTHING of what Romney has done in his life. One idiot attacked him about a deal Bain did in 2008, while Romney left the firm back in the 90s. But you don't care. You are just envious of people that work hard and make lots of money so you attack them with 0 understanding of what they do or who they are.

The Rothchild's, the Illuminati, the Rockerfellers, JP Morgan (the man), Carnegie, the railroad barrons etc... have always been demonized for having the audacity to try and build something that wouldn't have existed without them.

In the 90s it was Bill Gates....

Now it's Jamie Dimon, Blankfein and all those evil Goldmanites.

Seriously this site used to be people trying to make $ investing counter trend. Now it's been taken over by survivalists and OWS anarchists.

Oh, and Mittens = BamBam, they work for the same people, here comes the new boss same as the old boss.

Roadkill,

Nicely said. Problem is; how do the productive make the unproductive take ownership of their situation. NONE of us are entitled to ANYTHING, except life, liberty, and the pursuit (note, not attainment) of happiness. If the devil offers you a free lunch, he's just doing his job. If you take it, you are the problem. These unproductive people are not victims. They chose, even if all they did was choose to be ignorant of the situation and their responsibilities...

Why should we bail them out against our will (voluntarily is a moral judgment for each of us, and a question for another day)?

WTF
