BBC Speechless As Trader Tells Truth: "The Collapse Is Coming...And Goldman Rules The World"

Tyler Durden's picture

In an interview on BBC News this morning that left the hosts gob-smacked (google it... it is the BBC after all), Alessio Rastani outlines in a mere three-and-a-half-minutes what we all know and most ignore. While the whole interview is worth watching, the money shot for us was "This economic crisis is like a cancer, if you just wait and wait hoping it is going to go away, just like a cancer it is going to grow and it will be too late!". While he dreams of recessions, sees Goldman ruling the world, and urges people to prepare, it is hard to disagree with much (or actually anything) of what he says and obviously interventions and machinations means we will have days like this (in Silver for instance), there is only one endgame here and we hope there is less hopeful euphoria (and more preparedness) as we pull back the curtain further and further.

While we do not know who this trader is, one thing we can be 100% certain of is that he will never appear on CNBC.

It's kind of a running joke for us regular Youtubers. We is thinking it has to do with Youtube weeding out false hits because there are many tricks people try to use to get their stats up. Youtube has to defend against high frequency hits on every submission; quite a chore. So we give them a laughing break. Everyone who first notices the counter stop just above 300, will assume it's supression unless it's a video on how to make toast. If it's supression, they do it across the board on all topics.

Kind 'a like when I press the green "up" arrow here at Zero and my vote registers "3" votes? Funny how that happens almost EVERY TIME. The other times it's just "2" votes that register.

You might consider the hundreds of people looking at the post at the same time. By the time you click, it only updates the count on that one comment to real time. That is why it suddenly goes up 3 or 6.

I've seen the youtube counter phenomenon going back years to early Alex Jones stuff, where people were very concerned... apparently the counter is not constantly updated; sometimes it will delay for a few hours, then jump a few thousand at once. Doesn't seem like a problem.

But.. When I view the clip it shows 2388 views. I don't admit to knowing anything about Youtube but could this Youtube search result be something that always happens?

By safer I am assuming he means less volatile.  He is a trader, he is not going to hold onto bonds or cash for very long.  Dollar is strengthening right now, it is logical a trader would be long the dollar until the trend starts to weaken.  I hold my nose and hang onto FRN$ now too, because I do not have enough faith that the Bernank will get it right and get us to inflation or hyperinflation.  He could screw up (look at his track record) and push the economy into deflation, hell, that is where it wants to go anyway.

I posted this under the Austrian Newspaper Front Page thread, also.

Even if there's some incredible coordination, and they manage to bail out PIIGS+France+UK (which is not going to happen, but I digress), they won't fix the underlying condition that led the EU to their crisis in the first place (just like neither has the U.S.), and so what they're proposing to do is merely some extraordinarily expensive can kicking, which will lead to the necessity of doing the same extraordinarily expensive can kicking some months or a year or so from now, again, as Europeans see their standard of living wiped out, savings wiped out, and their underlying economic structure continue to deteriorate (and in the EU, they have the additional problem of having these conditions lead to true rage that pits nation vs nation).

There was a report on NPR's MarketWatch this morning (yes, it's public radio, yes it's a scam, and yes, MarketWatch is nearly as bad as CNBS with the sell sider propaganda. Don't ask why I was listening to it; it wasn't by choice) that the EFSF will be funded with a minimum of 2 trillion EUR, though details on who will contribute what amounts were non-existent (big surprise).

In any event, given that Merkel is being pummeled in the court of German Public Opinion, and that Sarkozy's party just suffered massive losses in French elections (much as Merkel's party recently did), and given that Germany and possibly two other far smaller Euro States are solvent, while PIIGS+UK+France are all as technically as insolvent as Greece (since none of these nations will ever pay back their debts absent massive EUR printing and a TARP-like program to buy their bonds -  aka Suck It Up, Europeans who saved, have money, and acted responsibly - only to kick the can, and not restructure the fatal flaw in the EU), I'd imagine it would take multiples higher than 2 trillion EUR being printed and freely distributed to save the EU, if even temporarily.

The U.S. Treasury, aided by the Federal Reserve, injected 5.2 trillion USD to try and bail out banks and bad financial actors (on the backs of taxpayers), and even that isn't going to stop the full court depressionary economic press.

I'd imagine that if the European Sadists who apparently want to punish Germany and solvent EU Member States are serious about kicking the can far down the street, they'll need to scrape together 3.5 to 4 trillion EUR, for starters. That amount, as an opening bid at can kicking, will be enough to crush the EUR by a minimum of 35%, and then, there are the contagion affects of that to consider, as well as what happens when they have to inevitably print even more EUR to kick the can again (not to mention that such an amount will break living standards all over Europe, and especially rile up Germans as they see their savings literally drained in a matter of a year or so).

this is a very articulated analysis. Here is just a humble addition to it. finmins attending the G20 meeting in DC are probably aware that 2 Trillions will not be enough. I guess that they throw that number to test public opinion. Once they get the public consentment to that, they'll probably come and say oh wait: we will need an additional 3 Trillions.

"I used to be in the SAS" or "My best mate was/is in the SAS".

Being a UK pub regular I have met at least five people who fit into this category, there are nutters everywhere. As for the rolled up newspaper/magazine, that is true but is something you can read on any half decent "self defence" website or a Sky TV hosted documentary.

Another of their favourite stories is that Osama Bin Laden was trained by the SAS.

Sarc on/  Jesus made sure that we could sin, he died for them.  Sarc off/  There are parts of religion that make us complacent.

I am still not sure why anyone thinks of spirituality and religion as the same.  Have you never loved?  Wasn't that spiritual?

And what about a code of ethics?  They may fluctauate with the mind, but everyone sans psychopaths have them.  This is a spiritual code.  This is our humanity, and we are losing it one moment at a time.

I say stand up and count yourselves as spirits.  Or else fall to the wayside as a casualty of the corporate war machine.

Not quite. I believe he got pissed off at a fig tree as well for not having any figs when he was hungry. I seem to remember "May you never bear fruit again" and a tree dieing.

That to my understanding was more of a spiritual reference having to do with the condition of a good tree (person) not bearing any fruit (righteous deeds).  Someone more learned could probably add to that interpretation.

The selfish, they're all standing in line
Faithing and hoping to buy themselves time
Me, I figure as each breath goes by
I only own my mind

The North is to South what the clock is to time
There's east and there's west and there's everywhere life
I know I was born and I know that I'll die
The in between is mine

let me remind you, there is no 'we'

there is the 'we' here on zerohedge....and none of us stood with those on wall street protesting over the weekend

if 'we' were truly a 'we', we would have stood , millions strong, together with those protesting

but we didn't

why?

because there is no 'we'

the collective 'we' has different goals, aspirations et al

we will never stand as one

never

we are divided, by race ,religion and a thousand other things

and divided WE shall fall

not a troll

just a realist, and therefore, a fatalist

there is no super man or bruce willis hero for us to rally behind

and if there were, he would be rapidly eliminated

and thats a fact

read your history, and dont go back far...you dont need to

3% of the poluation standing together at once is what it would take to effect change...and we might just get the change egypt got...none at all

9 or 10 million people rallying together with one voice....good luck with that

good luck

Recognizing that there is no we (something I touch on all of the time, as there is no state). does not have to be seen as a fatalist view, but rather an individualist one.

Some of us believe that only via the enlightenment of the individual, can a harmonious society naturally emerge. Anything less is but a madman with a gun.

As for the power of individuals, just imagine how clean the world would be if everyone swept their own doorstep.

No, certainly not. But then again, I don't think it's necessary.

Ideas come, and ideas go, as the ability to believe in them or not, is rationalized over time. To expect a world full of adult children to suddenly mature is unrealistic. Instead, they will cling to their false beliefs as they are consumed by them, to be replaced by those who cannot afford to live a childish life.

This remnant will always exist, as they cannot blind us all. For even in darkness, reality emerges to those willing to engage their senses.

I like this. No doubt that a "spiritual" revolution is underway. More and more peple are feeling the energy of it.

we are divided, by race ,religion and a thousand other things and divided WE shall fall

We are one and are connected to every other one and every created thing by virtue of our energy. We're not going to fall, there are too many of us who can feel it changing and happening. We are powerful.

there is no super man or bruce willis hero for us to rally behind

The thing is that we all have our own super inside to rally with. And, the beauty of it is that we don't need a demonstration ...we can project our consciousness, our energy and

rally together with

powerful bursts and multitudes of individual bursts of thought creating balance and harmony and peace.

"Illusions" by Richard Bach

Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours.

The best way to avoid responsibility is to say, "I've got responsibilities."

The mark of your ignorance is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.

There is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands. You seek problems because you need their gifts.

You're going to die a horrible death, remember. It's all good training, and you'll enjoy it more if you keep the facts in mind.
Take your dying with some seriousness, however. Laughing on the way to your execution is not generally understood by less advanced lifeforms, and they'll call you crazy.

Your friends will know you better in the first minute you meet than your acquaintances will know you in a thousand years.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Great book, there are a lot of ways to be spiritual without having to be enslaved by religions.  On an off note I am wondering how you would think about a grown person that SERIOUSLY believed in Santa or the Easter Bunny?  Especially if they got really bent out of shape at you for not believing in them?  Would it taint your faith in their words and actions, would you trust them a lot less?  What if they went door to door making it their mission to convince as many people as possible to also believe in them?  How much respect can you really have for people that espouse what to the vast majority of people is a crock of shit?  Leprechauns?  Tooth Fairy?  If the world is such a bad place and you so impotent to deal with it that you need to conjure an invisible and silent god and then force that psychopathic creator on the rest of us, well, it is not the "sinners" that need the help.

That is fair, but look amongst you, there is an us.  We should know that we are many so we can know how to act tactically.  I buy silver, so do others.  We are tallking back our wealth, as it is we who deserve it.  The criminal banking syndicate, they are not we.  We are against them.  They are our opponent.  If you wish to move ahead I applaud you, and wish you good luck.

Also note there is a society; in total in may lay in shambles, tattered and almost ruined, but just as anything, it can be picked up, for it is an idea, and ideas are limitless.  You can pick yourself up, and that will help us.  So pick yourself up and keep moving.

Mon, 09/26/2011 - 20:22 | 1713412 johnQpublic

and the crux....the criminal banking syndicate

they act together, as 'we' dont

they seem to have one goal and act upon it together...tactically

and as long as they control the wealth, power, media, as they do, the non-awake...people 'we' need in our ranks ,will remain oblivious to reality

this is the divide and conquer the 'theys' have perfected

to set us against one another, by religion, race, right/left paradigm

the 'theys' will set 'them', against us

by propaganda, elections and ideals..branding 'us' terrorists if 'we' ever were able to act

talking shit on the net will get us nowhere

seek out people in your neighborhood, not even community of like mind, speak to those who are not of like mind

this needs to start at such a grass roots level, a block at a time or there will never be a 'we'

and it takes a phenominal amount of time just to get five familys on the same page

yet everyone is looking at building a nation of the awake

these fuckers have been working at this for generations

i see just as you do what i think needs to be changed

but such a system has been put in place at all levels to prevent it, the task is sysiphean in nature to change what at all levels has been built to maintain a status quo we dont even grasp

(Thanks to Zerohedge for the info!)

But, if anyone in politics (hah!) or the American government (double-hah!!) is serious, the Fed and the top ten banksters would immediately be nationalized along with the re-establishment of the financial transaction tax to end or curb speculation.

You loan me $10.00 --- I give you back an IOU for $12.50 --- you tear that IOU into a thousand pieces and sell it for $10,000 valuation --- eventually people might just expect that $10,000 or so --- but I only promised $12.50 so where's the rest to come from????

And that is the problem in a nutshell --- only much, much larger in scope.

There is a sense now that leaders appreciate the size of the problem.

But political divisions could yet scupper a deal.
