Bernanke Out Under Perry

Tyler Durden's picture

Ever the thoughtful wordsmith, Governor Perry just noted on CNBC that he would not reappoint Bernanke. He reiterated his inflationary expectations line-of-reasoning and added that monetary policy shouldn't "cover bad fiscal policy". Once again the topic of independence and transparency was tripping off his tongue - Ben better start printing soon as time seems to be running out.

Rick Perry wants to take your land and put in electronic superhighway, NAFTA superhighway across America.

"American author and conservative activist Jerome Corsi vehemently opposed the Corridor and wrote a book called The Late Great USA, the coming merger with Mexico and Canada"

As a Texan, conservative, and an Aggie (Rick's alma mater), this guy is an absolute snake in the grass. He lost me with the Trans-Texas Corridor years ago, which in my opinion was the hightest form of treason. This dude is the worst kind of crony-capitalist, and he is not as popular in Texas as national media would lead you to believe. He was in a dogfight with a Ron Paul-type libertarian candidate named Debra Medina in the Republican gubernatorial primary. Unfortunately Glen Beck invited her on his show and did the bidding of TPTB and politically assasinated her by ambushing her with questions about her thoughts on 9/11 (yup, that was an important issue in the Texas governor's race). I'll never forgive Beck for that. Point is, Perry is all snake oil.

And as someone pointed out, he's a fucking Bilderberger. I'm firewalled from Youtube at work or I would post the Austin local news story about him attending the meeting 4 years ago in Istanbul (presumably to talk up the Trans-Texas Corridor/North American Union). Perhaps someone could link that below for others? Just type in Rick Perry and Bilderberg on YouTube and it will be one of the top hits.

Perry also has very little chance of winning the nomination.   Ron Paul is my personal favorite, but I realize that he is a poor public speaker.  He also has a nasty problem of telling the truth, which makes him a poor candidate for president.  The key is the economy, however.   Meaning, if the economy gets better the public will gravitate to a status-quo candidate of Perry or Romney.  If the economy continues to deteriate as most expect, then Cain and Ron Paul will build strength in numbers.

My hope is that Cain will continue to build traction.   His views are similar to RP, but he does not get caught up in the details like RP does.  Cain also has a more foksy and sound biteish way of conveying his message to the generic masses.  Cain / Paul 2011 would be a dream team ticket, in my mind.... :)

I can second that.  I'm appalled that Perry is an Aggie because I'm an Aggie and he certainly doesn't deliver the values of rural texans.    the TTC issue, his executive order on the HPV issue in state tuition position for illegals is at odds with the conservatives in texas. He is slick and cannot be trusted.

Forget it.  Not gonna happen.  RP might lead the effort but it would fail in congress where most of them are owned by bankers.

No way are bankers going to give up control of the currency and lose their ability to transfer America's wealth to themselves ...exactly why they created the Fed.

Perry is a wall street whore.  He'll just shuffle the deck.

People should realize he was put into power and backed by Phil Graham, aka, Graham-Leach-Bliley, aka The repeal of Glass-Steagall.

Rick Perry is not only a complete dumbass, and a fascist, and unamerican, he's also a bigger wall street whore than Bush and Obama.

People should actually think what they are saying.

People should also remember, no monetary policy will get us out of our mess. Not Keynesian, Not Austrian, not OTHER.

Monetarism is the ideology that is causing our problems...because it's based off bullshit.

Glass-Steagall....not Rick Perry, the guy who will be run by the people that removed Glass-Steagall

Oh he'll get rid of Bernanke....as if Bernanke is the problem.  Bernanke is running someone's playbook, and doing his things to BENEFIT OTHERS.  Not the people.  But SOME people.

Rick Perry would put in a like person, a monetarist, of some sort.  After that it doesn't matter.   Because no monetarist knows how to fix our monetary problem....that foisted all this fraudulent debt into the system.   Remember it's fraud, thus it needs not be paid off, but canceled, via Glass-Steagall....the bill Perry's progenitors led the charge to repeal.

Do you want to know more?

Rick Perry is as bad as Bernanke himself.  He's a Bilderberger.

What this statement means is that Bernanke wants to quit -- and he's already got a successor lined up.   The big banks will be sure to let Perry know who "their man" is and Perry will follow instructions like the good little pawn that he is.

Don't be fooled by this charade.

Remember:  There is no change you can believe in.   (Unless it involves a financial implosion and blood on the streets.   Anything else is a smooth handoff of power.)

Fool us once:  Shame on you.   Fool us twice:  Fuck off and die pig.

You are absolutely right Popo; however, regarding the "change" speech I would say that masses are going to buy the message time and again, no matter what. The populist speech always caters to that which the masses want to hear at any moment and that is the politicians' work, to say what the voters want to hear.
Besides, "hope" and "fear" are the two most powerful drivers to control and conduct the masses.
We in Argentina are fed up of Peronist speech, always the same b**shit for 60 years now, generation after generation, and it goes on and on. People but it time and again. We have already been through bloodbaths, financial instability every 7/8 years, destruction of productivity, social unrest, utter moral decadence, etc etc and the populist thing is still there. Perhaps we really need a real civil war, not the ones we had in these 60 years, but a real, devastating one to finally learn...
So I guess we are boiled frogs now... hopefully you Americans wake up before an Argentina-like decadence hits you...

OT, but while they have us looking at this political circle jerk the congress is trying to pass a bill that allows the stealing our land.

"The U.S. House of Representatives is considering a dangerous bill that should have all of us in Montana - and especially those of us in the northern tier - on high alert. It's called the National Security and Federal Lands Protection Act (H.R. 1505 if you want to look it up yourself), and it gives the federal government sweeping new power to shut down our public lands

The National Security and Federal Lands Protection Act is co-sponsored by Rep. Denny Rehberg, and it is exactly the kind of Big Government Montanans don't tolerate. All of us should be up in arms over the prospect of this bill. It infringes on our constitutional rights in the name of freedom - much like the controversial REAL ID Act. In fact, this bill builds off of REAL ID.

What exactly does the bill do?

• It gives the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) authority to seize immediate control of all public land, undermining all rights we have on those lands.

DHS could shut down any recreational activities, grazing, hunting, fishing, logging projects - you name it. The department would be allowed to do whatever it wants to gain what it determines to be "operational control" of any of our international borders.

That means bureaucrats could build roads, fences and even buildings wherever and whenever they want - without public input or due process - and even if it impacts your private land.

• It waives 36 public land and environmental laws - including the Farmland Protection Policy Act - on all federal, state and private lands "within 100 miles of the international land and maritime borders of the United States."

If you look at a map of Montana, that's the entire top third of our state. It's the entire Hi-Line, most of the Missouri River and the Flathead Valley, all of Glacier National Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness, several national forests and five of the seven Indian nations in Montana.

• It would give unprecedented power to the secretary of Homeland Security. Under the bill, the secretaries of Interior and Agriculture, who oversee Forest Service and BLM lands, "shall not impede, prohibit, or restrict activities of the Secretary of Homeland Security."

And this Rehberg-sponsored bill exempts these activities from court review. Now that's what you call a federal land grab. No wonder the lawmakers behind this bill are quietly trying to push it through Congress.

If they get their way, the federal government would have incredible power to stop timber sales on Forest Service land. DHS could prevent us from snowmobiling or fishing or hunting in our forests. The department could prevent grazing on the C.M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge. Bureaucrats could kick all the cattle off of BLM land. It would be able to shut down Glacier National Park indefinitely.

The Department of Homeland Security would also have the right to ignore all tribal protections for sacred sites. Why? The laws protecting these sites could be ignored.

I'm not the only one concerned about the National Security and Federal Lands Protection Act. Constitutional scholar John Leshy says the act "is the most breathtakingly extreme legislative proposal" he has ever seen because "it would effectively arm 200,000 Department of Homeland Security employees and their contractors with unilateral power to do what they want, without any advance notice, check or process, over vast areas of federal land."

Perry should talk about this ass well. the many warnings he received and didn't act on, and the whole being wrong about subprime contained thing. he doesn't deserve the job because he has bee nad continues to be a monumental failure, plus he has no trust of the american people with something like 80 percent against him. His appoinment by Obama and Geithner are the two major reasons I am not voting for Obama again. Then add the continued endless wars. I'll take my chance with a right wing nut job  over Obama. Plus I know many liberals who just won't vote for Obama out of principle for these same reasons.

Yeah.  It is easy to throw around slogans and buzzwords.  But the reality is the whole fractional reserve banking system needs an overhaul as well as going back to a gold standard.  Perry can parrot Paul's greatest hits.  He can say the toilet is stinky.  But he doesn't understand the plumbing.  Paul does.

Rick Perry is an idiot.  Bernanke isn't the problem, the criminal Fed is what has to go.

A warning shot just crossed the bow of the Bernank. Both Governors CNBC had on this morning have stood for exactly the opposite of what the fed and the like stand for. Fla gov and Tx gov. What's going on? RP lost his ass in the polls after last debate, and I believe he's going nuclear on banking system. This should be good.

got this email from my brother who works at massey knakal this morning.  Surpised it hasn't made more headlines...

"So I was wondering aloud in the office today about the seemingly large increase in Israeli/asian buyers over the past year. The guy sitting next to me goes “oh its mostly because of EB5”. I had no idea about this program, but apparently it is massive and responsible for a ton of new projects (george Washington bridge update, metro hotel) etc. Basically if you invest 500k and create “10-20” jobs, you get one green-card. But there’s no checks and balances on the money, so apparently people are syndicating deals, where 5-10 chinese put a few grand into a project, get a green card, sell the project, send money back to china, and repeat. Am I the only one that had no clue about this program? The old one just got you a visa, they updated program last year apparently to be full greencard status."
