Charting Last Week's Changes In Speculative Exposure

Tyler Durden's picture

For those interested in what the evil, evil speculators were doing in the last week, and historically, because as everyone indoctrinaged by the Mainstream media knows it is purely their fault gas is now over $4.00, not the Chairsatan's, nor was it his fault we had a housing or credit bubble - his own words from the second GW lecture - here is a complete breakdown of all relevant time series from the most recent Committment of Traders report.

It's 'hoodie' time.

Gas prices are sooo yesterday.

Time to pay attention to something important, like white mexican guys shooting innocent black kids and shit.

All looks biflationary to me. Inflation-snesitive indicators are all on the way up Except for housing, median personal income, meangingful new jobs creation and any other sources of personal wealth.

And if it feels like bifaltion here, imagine how it feels in the UK this week with prices soaring and now retail sales collapsing? Or in Spain where there are more unemployed than employed young adults?

that makes sense.  Bernanke is a little bi-curious.

If you were to ask Sherlock Holmes to solve a case with very litle evidence at hand, he will rely on observation.

Have you noticed that the last couple of months Bernanke has been insinuating that Congress shoud take action, but not being specific?

Then.... It means that he is out of bullets and he knows what's coming. And the more you hear in the near future, the closer the edge of the cliff. Just observe and interpret the clever word selection.

My guess: Watch the whole thing collapse after the Olympics or after the presidential elections. Let the reset, the cleansing and the rebuilding games begin.

As a final note: I think the Greeks have a good opportunity here to charge London for the Olympic flame and demand the return of the stolen treasure in the London museum as a prerequisite, as the Elite have turned a noble non-professional multi-sport event into a pocket stuffing for those in charge and a sales marketing event for sports-ware. Shame!

Fuck this inflation, biflation, stagflation shit. There's only one word for it: theft. Money taken out of our pockets and put into the hands of some bankers and their political shills. Bottom line, our standard of living decreases while theirs increases.

You East Coasters need to check on the Left Coast once in a while, where gas has been well over 4 bucks for weeks now. We're bracing for the 5 handle.

And quit using that confusing EasternStandardTime on every time schedule, dammit.

Hell yeah!! I belong to a rinky dink BB and their software allows you to display posts in your own local time.

Gas here in Montana is still under $4.00. Paid $3.59 the other day. Going up fast though.

I insist there are indeed evil speculators - at the Fed. If you gotta be a banker...be a central banker.

Money for nothin' and your debt for free...

Sat, 03/24/2012 - 17:16 | 2287083 slewie the pi-rat
slewie the pi-rat's picture

he doesn't say where he "gets" them

every week, i think on thursdays, the crimex reports the COT (commitment0traders)

they are cryptic, tough to read, and even tougher to understand, but these charts are a time-series of these commitments or positions in the various commodity contracts

here is last weeks' COTS REPORT for gold, silver, and dollar contracts

COT Gold, Silver and US Dollar Index Report - March 23, 2012

tyler's graphs show certain relationships of the different "types" of traders,  vis-avis total and net positions on certain "key" months

as tyler sez:  "speculators" and the charts are "large specs' positions and breakdowns"

the "large specs" is a technical name for a certain group and size of trader in commodities;  from the link, we also see the categories of "commercial" and "small specs"

that's all folks!  the commercials are the banksters and they own the futures exchanges, pretty much.  they "fade" the L and Sm specs' trades, buying contracts when the others are selling and selling contracts to them when the specs are "netBuying"

these charts show the positions according to the legends, and tyler's intro presents these chats as indicative of speculative exposure

i think...  L0L!!!

A good investment is a locking gas cap. Just bought one for $20. Gotta protect the black gold, too.

If your cap is locked they just drill a hole in the bottom of the tank.

I wish I knew that before purchasing. Still, it's a deterrent. They might just move on to the next car.

If they've got a drill, they can jack the ignition and steal your ride.

Easier than draining the tank.

Gas prices here in Chicagoland are quickly reaching the point in which the economy went "poof" last time. $4.59 outside of Cook county - worse inside. Since wages have not significantly increased since 2007-08 we probably are going to have another problem soon. What the heck though - we had a warm winter - we can recycle the heat savings into gas and food (and Ipad) expenditures.

But, just don't give it a thought as you invest - it will all be fine.
