All major powers are on the collision course with each other as resource constraints are meeting constantly growing population. There is no possible way to mediate this situation and if there ever was one, it was squandered.

Unluckiest of all are males within 16-25 age bracket who will be forced to become a hero generation to fight in countless battles of what's to come.

china was not too pleased w/ the whole NATO shoot-em-up in libya

after tripoli fell, and B4 the moQ got off'd,  china~~who had been friendly and involved in libya pre-NATO~~china looks at libya and addresses the western military alliance:  you blew this whole place up, therefore you are legally required to restore it

they were ignored.  totally

just a few days ago, whoever is in charge of the libyan celebrations and festivities this week recognized the chinese commercial projects and interests, made them a buncha promises, and told them to take 2 aspirin and go to be bed and call again tomorrow if they didn't feel better

to me, china has not been pleased, at all, now going forward with the "international handling" of events in syria and the recent jawboning, posturing and big fuking explosions in iran, they are saying:  that's enough!

this isn't very nice talk while we're planning and enjoying the holidays, but i'm sure that horold camping will find it useful

and, there are no mayan 2012 calendars anywhere to be found!  sold out, everywhere

D00M sells, sexy bIcHEz!

Couple of things here Slewie....China sold $200 million worth of weapons to Ghadaffi via Algeria during the uprising. Well documented after the fall of Tripoli and China was cought red-handed with the i's dotted and the t's crossed. China is now person non grata in Libya and the love isn't being felt in Egypt or Tunisia.

I think this whole revolution shit scares the hell out of the Chinese -Syria or Iran have a revolution why not China.

Aside of launching a couple of nukes - and they won't do this to defend Iran, explain to me how Chia will project power outside of their borders in a contested ocean.  They can't do anything unless they march to Iran to defend it.  They don't have the navy.

I hope the mad dogs of pax americana are on a strong leash. China's demographics will help stabilise its consumption imprint on world. 1 billion is more than enough. Its even more than more.

An unconventional project by US university students has concluded that China's nuclear arsenal could be many times larger than current estimates, drawing the attention of Pentagon analysts.

Karber said that -- based on the study of the tunnels -- China could have up to 3,000 nuclear warheads, far higher than the current estimates, which range from 80 to 400, according to the Post.

And if any of you think that China fears nuclear war, forget about it. Mao during the Korean war :
``The atomic bomb is nothing to be afraid of. China has millions of people. It cannot be bombed out of existence. If someone else can drop an atomic bomb, I can too. The death of 10 or 20 million people is nothing to be afraid of...``

That was him responding to the Indian ambassador after he asked him if he feared that Chinese involvement in the Korean war could lead to nuclear war against the US.

who cares about 400 or 3000 nukes, when 5 are enough to produce five Fukushimas in the US.
Even more crazy the idea of placing 5 nukes at the coast of the spanish canary islands which will produce enough energy for this one fragile mountain to slide off into the atlantic, creating a tsunami which would wipe out the US east coast.
Use men made energy to release mother earths energies.
I hope TPTB are not that stupid, because even they do not favor a life below ground for the next 30'000 years.

Not this canary islands BS again.... sorry but it won't happen. The geologist claiming that is a nut.

And about Fukushimas, you are right... as long as those nukes hit nuclear power plants... just a nuke hitting a city will not create a ``fukushima``... A nuclear power plants has TONS of radioactive material... a nuke a few hundreds lbs... which most of it gets transformed into heat.

Wed, 11/30/2011 - 18:07 | 1932726 Ratscam
Ratscam's picture

Ok about the canary island, since i am not a geologist.

Any modern missile can take out a nuclear power plant, probably multiple rounds of RPGs could as well, since they are built to withstand inside and NOT outside pressure.
Since in todays world, due to a lack of storage space, the plants are storing their used fuel rods in these power plants the damage would be detrimental for thousands of years as in Tschernobyl and Fuku, with worldwide implications.

Suppose the missles and RPGs cripple the plant's water supplies or personnel?  Face it.  Nuclear power plants are nothing more than gigantic dirty bombs and a clear and present danger wherever they are.  How many FUKUshimas end it all?

WW3? Are they joking? WW3 over fooking Iran?

They cannot be even close to serious.

Russia: Who will they sell their oil and natgas to when they've been embargoed as a act of war? And without oil revenue they are not even as economically viable as Brazil. The Tsar would be back in power within a year if they don't bring the tanks down on their universities.

China: Who will they sell their lead-tainted toys to? Without record-breaking exports every quarter to keep their serfs busy internal unrest will explode. They'll have so much rioting at home it will be shocking if they don't go WMD against their own people.

Grain of salt time. Or else these guys are stupid as stumps.

Anger about their lowly station in the world hierarchy drives a lot of china's behavior.
