Because, while Waldo may be hiding from Norris, Norris will no longer hide from what he terms "socialism or something much worse."

We are here to talk about a growing concern we all share. If we look to history, our great country and freedom are under attack. We're at a tipping point and, quite possibly, our country as we know it may be lost forever if we don't change the course in which our country is headed.
With our country at a crossroads, Chuck and I have asked ourselves what we can be doing to help support this great country we're blessed to live in and how we can encourage our like-minded American brothers and sisters to unite and let their voices be heard," she said. "It is estimated that in the 2008 election, 30 million evangelical Christians stayed home on voting day and Obama won the election by 10 million votes.

It might seem weird to you but Chuck Norris is a Christian and has the rational belief that there is a relation between morality and good government. Perhaps that idea seems wrong to you but you certainly can't justify your opinion whereas the Christian idea that laws are founded in the nature of God and revealed in terms of the Ten Commandments is a solid foundation for ethics. Parable of the talents (i.e. put your capital be it money or talents to work or they will be taken away)
Workers in the vineyard (i.e. the master can pay the workers whatever is agreed to unequally)
Barren fig tree (the barren tree is a bad investment which would be rid of and not kept around to multiply)
Sower of the seeds (Could be seen from a venture capitalist point of view, most seeds won't make it but the few that do will multiply)
Mustard Seed (could be seen how something can grow an idea into a giant)
Wise and Foolish Builders (could be seen that wise investors make good choices and are protected while the fools have their house washed away)

There is a relation between morality and good government. It was just has nothing to do with the current state of evangelical christians in the United States.
What do you believe? Chrisitans believe in a power outside of us (whether you believe in it or mock it), it provides a framework of ethical guidelines, that all are familiar with. For those that don't believe in God, why do you fret over the banksters stealing from you, and the government taking all they can for the 1%. After all if there is no firm compass, what ever is right in their eyes is fine. You have no moral authority to judge someone else (no objective basis), their opinion may differ from yours.

I know many Tea Party activists and leaders in two states. They are pretty good on what they are against but not so good on what they are for or what they believe. I DO believe they have libertarian leanings but not particularly well versed in it. They are an amalgamation of various groups from the very religious to the very libertarian.

"TPTB" is one of those terms people often invoke when they want to shift any possible blame or responsibility away from the OBVIOUS AND VISIBLE sources of a decision or action. The only way you can say "TPTB" picked Bush as a running mate is by PRETENDING the Republican party apparatus at the time was secretly running the show.
But in '79/'80, the Republican party was still a shambles. WHOEVER "TPTB" were at that time, they did not give a flying fuck about the Republican VP candidate.

Reagan had a bit of a credibility problem with the conservatives of the era. Former Democrat, governor of the most liberal state in the union, and not much of a career record demonstrating his qualifications to be President. He made good speeches and knew how to hit his mark, but the folks who paid attention to matters of record were a bit suspicious of the guy. He NEEDED someone like Bush on the ticket--war hero, chief spook, long-term politician.
Now it may well be that he could've chosen a puppy, because by the time of the election, it was an "anyone but Carter" situation for a lot of folks. But you have to plan for such things.

However, Cronkite (some have speculated the MSM, and Cronkite et al, are run by TPTB) had an interview with Ford within 24 hours of the convention, Cronkite asked Ford if he was part of a "Co-Presidency". By doing so, Conkite purposefully pissed in the regean's punch bowl since Regean could not choose Ford fore it undermine his role. As a result He was served up Bush as the "only" candidate even though he publically disagreed with Regeans platmform (voodo econ, pro abortion, etc). TPTB forced Regean to pick Bush otherwise they would torpedo the campaign (ala Goldwater) and give the election to the properly vetted Carter.
