Class Warfare Blowback: Majority Of Americans Want Obama Out

Tyler Durden's picture

The ever-eloquent populist-in-chief has just turned an important corner.  It seems that the clear class warfare escapades he has been engaging in recently have backfired as, according to a poll by Associated Press-GfK, a majority of adults, 52 percent, said Obama should be voted out of office while 43 percent said he deserves another term. This confirms the report from the previous Gallup poll, that our President heads into election year with a significant problem: "Heading into his re-election campaign, the president faces a conflicted public. It does not support his steering of the economy, the most dominant issue for Americans, or his overhaul of health care, one of his signature accomplishments..." While understandably the party preferences bias for and against, it is the Independents that must be the greater concern as "The president's standing among independents is worse: Thirty-eight percent approve while 59 percent disapprove." Given the fact that its-the-economy-stupid, we wonder just how long the entirely independent and sacrosanct Federal Reserve will remain on the sidelines, or is QE3 coming Jan 1st?

From TIME magazine article: Poll: Obama Re-Election Odds About 50-50

The economy remains a source of pessimism, though the poll suggests the first positive movement in public opinion on the economy in months. One in five said the economy improved in the last month, double the share saying so in October. Still most expect it to stay the same or get worse.

"I suppose you could make some sort of argument that it's getting better, but I'm not sure I even see that," said independent voter John Bailey, a 61-year-old education consultant from East Jordan, Mich. "I think it's bad and it's gotten worse under (Obama's) policies. At best, it's going to stay bad."

Despite the high rate of joblessness, the poll found some optimism on the economy. Although 80 percent described the economy as "poor," respondents describing it "very poor" fell from 43 percent in October to 34 percent in the latest poll, the lowest since May. Twenty percent said the economy got better in the past month while 37 percent said they expected the economy to improve next year.

Yet plenty of warning signs remain for Obama. Only 26 percent said the United States is headed in the right direction while 70 percent said the country was moving in the wrong direction.

The president won a substantial number of female voters in 2008 yet there does not appear to be a significant tilt toward Obama among women now. The poll found 44 percent of women say Obama deserves a second term, down from 51 percent in October, while 43 percent of men say the president should be re-elected.

About two-thirds of white voters without college degrees say Obama should be a one-term president, while 33 percent of those voters say he should get another four years. Among white voters with a college degree, 57 percent said Obama should be voted out of office.

The poll found unpopularity for last year's health care overhaul. About half of the respondents oppose the health care law and support for it dipped to 29 percent from 36 percent in June. Just 15 percent said the federal government should have the power to require all Americans to buy health insurance.

Even among Democrats, the health care law has tepid support. Fifty percent of Democrats supported the health care law, compared with 59 percent of Democrats last June. Only about a quarter of independents back the law.

Your are  right. We are doomed because fools such as yourself are really trying to make a distinction between "My mood i'm in a jihad" quoting the Khomenei and saying the same thing.  He says that the regime of Isarael needs to be wipe of the map.  So you think that if just the "regime" of israel were  to go away that those peace loving           mu-slimes would live peacably with the jewish people.  When he referes to the American regime as the great satan what do you think he is referring to, just the gov't?  What WORMS such as yourself show is your lack of appreciating that when someone says they want to eliminate you i take them at their word. Idiot like you want to talk to them and find out what we did to upset them when they have been telling you for hundreds of years.  You are and infidel and if you don't convert...we kill you. No grey area about that.  Except for you, and its thinking ,if you want to call it that, such as yours is why we are doomed. Remember, Obuttfuck said he wished to extend a open hand and not a clinched fist. that clinched fist is about forearm deep up his ass which is where he wants us.  Our dear leader Barack Houssen Obama...mmm, mmm, mmmmmmmmmmm!

Esculent 69 proudly trumpeted his ignorance thusly:

So you think that if just the "regime" of israel were  to go away that those peace loving           mu-slimes would live peacably with the jewish people.

Muslims and Jews have lived together peacefully for centuries. The view that they've always been at each others' throats is historically inaccurate and is of recent vintage. During the Crusades, Moslems would shelter and protect their Jewish neighbors from those peace loving "Christians".

When he referes to the American regime as the great satan what do you think he is referring to, just the gov't?

The Iranian people generally admire the American people. They fear and distrust the American government. Considering the track record of US government meddling in that region, that position is entirely rational.

Idiot like you want to talk to them and find out what we did to upset them when they have been telling you for hundreds of years.  You are and infidel and if you don't convert...we kill you.

Really? Did you know that Iran has the largest Jewish community of any Moslem nation? Did you know that after Khomeini returned to Iran in 1979, he issued an edict that the Jews in Iran were to be protected? Of course you didn't, because the people who tell you what to think didn't want you to know that. If you click on the link below, you can read all about it. Of course, you won't read it because the people who tell you what to think have also told you that they are absolutely correct about everything. However, I've included the link as a courtesy to those who seek to escape ignorance.

http://www.sephardicstudies.org/iran.html

No grey area about that.

If you're talking about the interior of your cranium, then you've found a point upon which we can both agree.

How can anyone beat Obama's acheivement of killing more people than any other Nobel Peace Prize recipient? Hell if he doesn't get re-elected then maybe Ripley can give him a place in their world records. The Bernank can have mention beside him for stealing the most money out of any banker.

They all want the power to control the masses, all they do is go about it by (slightly) different methods.

All the 'ist' you mention are the enemy of individual freedom. The only thing we have standing in their way is the U.S. Constitution, and most of it has been destroyed already. When what few freedoms remaining are gone and all the 'ist' have won, the warnings of the Founders would have come true, and we will be left with tyranny.

Status quObama is a joke.  It is hillarious to think back on his "Hope and Change" drones of 2008.  I'm not talking about his centrist supporters that voted for him merely because McCain was a joke.  I can't believe that even amongst that group of troglodytes, and brain dead lefties, that there can still be 43 percent of the population that believes this guy deserves another chance.

I have been watching the money bomb on Ron Paul's site today.  His goal is $4 million.  He is currently just under $2 million.  Just think of the difference between the people that have gotten RP to that $2 million mark compared to Obama's supporters of 2008.  Those handing their money to Ron Paul have no illusions that he will create Eden here on earth the way the Obamobots did.  He will not pay our mortgages or gas up our Hondas.  In my opinion they merely believe that supporting somebody that is honest and stands firm for his beliefs is worth sending a few spare bucks away.  A man that does appear to stand for the Constitution (even though he's not a professor of constittutional law - chuckle, chuckle) is worth giving some support.

My hope for January is for RP to win in Iowa and have him continue to be a healthy and safe individual.  I believe we all fear for Mr. Paul's safety if he wins the nomination.  Lately, I have been thinking that RP is kind of like Obe-Ron-Kenobi.  Even if he were to pass from this mortal coil he will continue to have a huge influence on a lot of Jedis out there.  His work will not pass with him.  Maybe I am kidding myself but I don't think so.  He will be like Truman on steroids, where future politicians try to attach to his legacy.  "May the force be with you, RP."

what is it, maybe 48% of americans are on the federal/state dole one way or another?

So that is retired, disabled+ 14 million unemployed, '45,753,078 Americans and 21,581,234 households use Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), more commonly known as food stamps.

Zero Hedge notes that much of the 1.1 million increase from April 2011 comes from the state of Alabama, in which food stamp usage shot up from 868,000 to 1,762,000.

There are no jobs, even flipping burgers.

'and about that number pay no income taxes.  so no, its not hard to believe'

In that 'no taxes' part is the people who don't MAKE ENOUGH TO BE TAXED and the people and corporations who make so much, they avoid taxes.  Also if you have corporations who get refunds instead of paying anything, GE comes to mind.

The country is larger, it costs more to deal with a larger problem than we havew been told there is.

This morass should have been called, and dealt with, like a depression.  The corporations, and their media wing can afford to wait this whole thing out, and they will.  Their patsy will take the fall for this, like they planned, and this quisling president  gave them the rope to hang himself, he could have frog marched the banksters but chose to shield them and their accessories in government from accountability in the meltdown and the massive fraud and theft to the taxpayers

Well you can lie with numbers without context.  Get you facts straight.

Yer kidding, right? People prefer to be poor so they can get a hand-out from the govt of a couple hundred $$ a month, stand in food bank lines, etc? They should go out and get a job, right?

There's a whole lot of people who use to have comfortable 6 figure incomes and nice houses in the 'burbs they owned for years that are now homeless, moved back in with mom and dad, etc.  Just because you don't know any doesn't mean it's not happening.

This was planned, from a long time ago.  Go read this:  http://www.lawfulpath.com/ref/sw4qw/

Sheeple come in all shapes, sizes, colors and economic situations.  Just because you aren't there yet, does not mean you won't be someday soon.

If you aren't an elite, you'll be standing in the same line you now ostrasize and criticise.  Multi-millionaires are being wiped out right and left, because they don't count in the elites.  All you are doing is waiting in line for them to take you out, too, if you happen to be so fortunate to have that much.

They will take your dollars, your gold and silver, your guns and food - time is on their side, not yours.

That's the facts, Jack.

Amen, Crockett.

Now here's some more comedy. This poll means nothing, and unless RP is the Rep nominee, Obummer will kick any of the other candidates asses in the general election.

The poll is meaningless, because it's some one vs. no one.  Insert either Romney or Gingrich for the no one and then see what the reuslts are.

Romney (Mormon, Wall Street Titan, corporate raider, destroyer of American jobs, believes corporations are people, supports socialized medicine, has taken both sides of virtually every position, and zero 'common touch'), and Newt (too many negatives to even bother to list), will be cut to pieces once the Dems crank up the propaganda machine.  Plus, neither of them would bring any change to D.C.  The rest of the pack, except Huntsman, coludn't get over 20% of the vote in a general election.

RP is probably the only candidate with a chance of beating Obummer, but does he have a chance to get the nod from the far right twits driving the primary votes?  I guess we will find out soon.

Only Ron Paul can beat Obama. He appeals to what each party claims to be their core principles such as smaller government for the Republicans and personal freedoms for Democrats. Most people really want these things but of course no politician ever delivers on them. Ron Paul can and will deliver if given the chance.

The hardest part of the fight will be getting the nomination. The general election will be a hard slog as well but Ron Paul's honesty and humility are sure winners in my book.

So much to like about Ron Paul but I just can't get past his view on Iran. I respectfully think he is very wrong in his thinking there. His views on the economy, debt, the Fed, Bernanke, etc are so right it's easy to see why people will vote for him.

You MUST understand how war propaganda works...also false flag attacks, make believe bogeymen, the military/industrial complex and its relationship with Wall Street and the energy sector.

The REAL enemy is not lurking out there in some turban, it resides WITHIN our gates, as Cicero would remind you.

And he will appease China and Russia and have mullahs up his keister before his first year is out.

I see you Ron Paul guys as the flip side of the Obummer coin.  And no matter how you call the coin, when it lands we end up dead or enslaved.

gnomon, raving and drooling, managed to bang out the following from his spittle encrusted keyboard:

If you Ron Paul guys can't see the obvious growing threats to our lives and to geopolitical stability from Iran, North Korea, China, and Russia, I am not going to spell it out for you.

You can't spell it out, because it's nothing more than a constantly morphing cloud of paranoia through which you perceive the world. Iran has never been a threat to the United States, North Korea is the geopolitical equivalent of a run down trailer park, and the only threats posed by Russia and China are economic.

You are letting your hatred of many things blind you to the things that can kill you.

Look in the mirror when you say that, and make it your first step along the path to recovery from mental illness.

We can always fight the police state encroachments as they come online and try to throw them back at a later date.

That's a far more real and immediate threat to the United States than the vague, imaginary ones that you can't spell out. Why not leave your nebulous bogey men for a later date?

But we will not have that chance, if we are dead.

What do you mean by we? The phantoms which haunt your imagination are only threatening to you.

Evil exists in the world.

Yes, it does, and a significant amount of it emanates from inside the I-495 beltway.

And it just isn't here.  And we are by far not the worst.

Dude, the CONMedia (corporate owned news media) are serving you kool-aid through a firehose and you're drinking it all down. You need to lay off the television and talk radio before the media totally cut your tenuous grasp on reality.

The media are not your friend. They've reduced you to a quivering, incoherent lump of fear. For your own good, kick the media habit and stop drinking their kool-aid.

You Ron Paul guys can not MAN UP and smell the coffee.  War is coming whether you like it or not, whether the U.S. or Israel initiates it or not.  To have Ron Paul and/or Obummer at the helm of our military at this moment in our history would be (and is) absolutely suicidal.

Neither has the steel (and reputation) to possibly forestall the worst, to make an adversary, smelling blood in the water, blink.

It must be in your DNA, that is all I can figure out.  How can you thoroughly understand one danger and ignore the other, (which always follows the first as Night Follows Day).

So you honestly think you can stamp out hate with violence?  You like most neo-cons equate national security with multi-trillion dollar overt military marathons.  The good doctor supports a strong military.  But what he talks about as national security is stealth, surgical and cost-effective.  And I guarantee you this - if RP fails, you will all have to contend with his son in the coming decades - a more articulate libertarian with an already HUGE backing at the start of his political career.

But, I leave you with this:

I classify most of what goes on in the D.C. island of outcasts as a FARCE:

a farce is a comedy which aims at entertaining the audience by means of unlikely, extravagant, and improbable situations, disguise and mistaken identity, verbal humour of varying degrees of sophistication, which may include word play, and a fast-paced plot whose speed usually increases, culminating in an ending which often involves an elaborate chase scene. Farces are often highly incomprehensible plot-wise (due to the large number of plot twists and random events that often occur), but viewers are encouraged to try not to follow the plot in order to not become confused and overwhelmed. Farce is also characterized by physical humor, the use of deliberate absurdity or nonsense, and broadly stylized performances.

Perhaps these divisions in political stances can be overcome by just listening to Ron Paul's last statement in this 3 minute vid. "Where does the fight come from?" Classic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTHLctk4aig&feature=related

Here's my take  about the coming fight, its genisis and why it will be so if Ron Paul or some other Constitutionist does not hold sway. It is also in reference what I feel is a misinterpretation of the war as a "class war" rather than a war re-fought for Liberty, this in reply to Doc's leader: http://silverdoctors.blogspot.com/2011/12/heres-to-jim-beam-gold-silver....

Your comment; "we the people can't save them." strikes a very resonant chord.
We can be strip-mined of the fruits of our labour, tortured, incarcerated, brainwashed, enslaved and now legally murdered, however, we can't save them from themselves. It's in their own make-up, it's who they are; the sociopathically inconsiderate and opportunistic.
They have little perception of the damage they do because their focus is only on win or lose, a game to them.
Win or lose, money means nothing to them as it comes to them via their hierarchical position in the credit creation and expansion mechanism, not through labor.
This is where where the division lies. It's not a class battle, its a moral crusade that will end in war. War, because our money is a moral precept, earned and created through honest labor and principles, whereas theirs is contrived, created as needed, enshrined through fiat and enforced through judicial coercive power. The rules of the game are written in the banker's favour.
The cost of this credit expansion is loss of purchasing power of their money through wage garnishment via taxes and inflation. They use our labor to pay for their lifestyle. That's THE GAME.
No, we can't save them because its their game, they use our labor as part of their game, we can only save ourselves.

We need to figure out peacefully, how to end their game. The "peacefully" part is not in their game plan, so, to avoid the administrations of their coercive tactics mentioned above, a war of their making will have to be fought. It will take courage and moral convictions, something they lack.

Crash the market, destroy the remainder of the financial system, launch terrorist attacks everywhere, then sit back and let the plastic TeeVee people complain about his "isolationism." It's hard to work toward a peaceful, prosperous society when Armageddon has been unleashed.

Honestly, he represents the ultimate "get out of jail free" card for them. Now, this isn't to say they wouldn't prefer slowly absorbing the world's wealth with their own puppets in place, but you can rest assured, they've got the whole place wired to explode the instant they're kicked out.

Remember the first TARP "No" vote in the House? And the market's "reaction?" If the people speak, they will be bitch-slapped until they succumb to the mindless herd demanding that he "Do Something!"

Brother Al,
I prefer to think of it as rising rather than falling.

My first red pill moment came watching the aftermath of Katrina. Then another dose in '07 leading up to the crash. Taking that medicine was a painful and bewildering experience, especially when trying to share your new found state of "health" with friends or family. Most of these people don't want to be awakened, and will fight to stay in the system.

In '08 I gave up the opportunity to vote my conscience, and pulled the lever for McCain on the slim chance he could defeat Obama. My reasoning at the time was to gain more time to prepare for an inevitable collapse on a slightly longer time-line.

Never again.

No; it's progress.

By definition, blacks cannot be racist.  Yes, that is implicit in the word as defined by the person who coined it...a homosexual jew marxist.

But but but but...He's done sooo much and we have come soooo far.  He deserves to finish what he started and wont stop until the New World Order, which is actually the old serfdom world order, is complete.

I need to become a knight of some sort so my word is as good as 6 peasants.

We are going to have a lot of peasants.

Why don't they just save us all from watching those horrible ads on TV and get this over with now.

Osama out.  Send him back to law school, or some stupid ass unproductive role in todays world.  Bring in RP.  End the Fed.  Fire Benocide.  Demote Timmy to Chief Petroleum Transfer Tech for the Ron Paul motorcade (someone's gotta fill those gas tanks up!!).  Send Barney Frank to Russia, and buy Nancy Pelosi a comb.  Then DC will start to change.

Maybe he'll win another one of those Peace Prize thingies.

Myself, I've got six of them. The Nobel Committee keeps sending them to me in the mail for not invading the fuck out of Andorra again this year.

Yeah, just got me one of those for breaking up a fight at school last year.  I'm writing a book about it right now.

I got one for merely sparking up a jay, feeling peaceful, and, of course, my book: "The Audacity of Dope".

I'm glad the Nobel Committee doesn't revoke the prizes due to subsequent violence, because my next book, which is about Wall Street and TBTF bankers, is called "The Efficiency of Rope".

Imagine that...All of the American's that fell for the "I will bring change to Washington" platform are upset that the virgin bride turned out to be a $2 hooker.

The unfortunate news is all of the contenders are $1 hookers.

At that level of expectation, the difference between a $2 hooker and a $1 hooker is -- one dollar.

And one dollar can afterwards buy you a 32 oz soft drink at the 7-Eleven.

And that's a lot of soda so it's a great deal.

I see no significant difference between Obama's policies and Bush's policies and I can't imagine that things would be any different today had McCain been elected in 2008.

Given McCain's "work" on the NDAA, I'd argue things would be different -- worse, but only because he'd be working on a faster timetable to destroy the country that O is. I have no doubt they're both following instructions of the same master.
