Crude Spikes To Two Weeks High Following Israel Embassy Bombings, Warning Of Iranian Naval Kamikazes

Tyler Durden's picture

While today's market session has been broadly calm for the time being, that has not prevented Oil from falling back to its old norm of being impacted by the merest rumor of geopolitical tensions, of which we have had quite a few of already, following car explosion attacks targeting Israel embassy officials in India and Georgia. While Iran has yet to make any announcement on these events, which oddly enough resulted in no deaths, Israel has already blamed Iran for everything. From Reuters: "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel's  arch-foe Iran "stands behind" bombers who targeted Israeli embassy cars in India and Georgia on Monday. Netanyahu linked the incidents  to reports of foiled attacks in Thailand and Azerbaijan last month for  which, he said, Iran and its Lebanese guerrilla "proxy" Hezbollah were  responsible."Iran, which stands behind these attacks, is the  largest exporter of terror in the world," Netanyahu said, addressing his  Likud party faction in parliament." It appears that when it comes to car bomb assassination plots, Iran still has to learn from those which targeted its own nuclear scientist successfully a few weeks ago. Yet this latest escalation in attempted provocations is not unexpected: it comes on the heels of the announcement of a US Naval Official who said that "Iran is building up its forces in the Persian Gulf and has prepared speedboats loaded with explosives." Whether it actually has or has not is irrelevant: all that matters is that the US navy 'says so.'

The pre-emptive attack posturing continues via RT:

"They have increased the number of submarines [to 10], they increased the number of fast attack craft," the commander of US naval forces in the region, Vice Admiral Mark Fox, told reporters on Sunday. "Some of the small boats have been outfitted with a large warhead that could be used as a suicide explosive device. The Iranians have a large mine inventory."

The head of US’s Fifth Fleet also added that the United States has been watching with interest how Tehran develops its long-range rockets and various ballistic missiles, not mentioning the country’s nuclear program.

The 2000 suicide attack of Al-Qaeda’s small boat on the destroyer USS Cole in a Yemeni port, which killed 17 sailors, exposed a relative vulnerability of huge battleships before such attacks. Now, the US command says it takes these threats seriously, also adding that it is prepared for them.

"We are very vigilant, we have built a wide range of options to give the president and we are ready… What if it happened tonight? We are ready today," Vice Admiral Fox assured.

And so the jawboning continues, even as Iran's economy continues to tumble down a hyperinflationary abyss, yet we are all led to believe all Iran wants to do is commence war on the world. Which in itself only brings us closer to one, pretty much as hoped for by those who truly stand to profit from one breaking out. Such as the producers of the sequel to "Wag the dog."

One commodity that is not waiting is Crude, which just took out triple digits again, and is back to 2 weeks highs. That this will have an impact on gasoline prices, which as we reported yesterday are already at 5 month highs, is to be expected. What is also to be expected is the economist prop-armada attempting to spin how another spike in unleaded to $4.00 is beneficial and in fact essential for the economy.

The explicit support for Iran among the libertarian community is extremely worrying. Iran has openly stated that they would like to wipe Israel off the face of the map, and support for this terrorist state is simply inexcusable.

According to top military experts such as General David Petraeus and Robert Gates (Presidential Medal of Freedom winner), Israel is a key strategic Ally in the war on terror. We need to protect and work with our allies if we want to rid the world of terrorism and spread democracy and peace throughout the world. Support for terrorist states like Iran is seriously interring with these goals.

Iran is an exporter of terror?  WTF is ISRAEL doing when they CAR BOMB scientists?

JFC, they are using the ARCHETYPICAL "terrorism" attack, a fuckin car bomb.  How much clearer can shit be?  If Israel doesn't get the "diplomatic" solution that they want, they just murder people using Terrorism 101 tactics and methods.

Israel is an ally in name only.  They attacked us in '67 (USS Liberty), stole weapons grade uranium from us during the 70's (FBI reports on NUMEC theft), spied on us in the 80's (Pollard, still in jail), and continued spying on us throughout the 90's and early 00's (charges delayed then expired against AIPAC seniority).  They also developed their nuclear arsenal with the help of Apartheid South Africa (coincidence?), exported our military technology to China, and "misplaced" a couple klystrons somewhere along the way.

Let's not forget the first incident of modern terrorism in the middle east was the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, by... Irgun (Jewish terrorist organization).

Its time to start calling the pig what it is, no matter how much lipstick its wearing.  i wish destruction upon nobody, but I can't stomach Israel being called an ally. Judge people by their actions, not their words; because if I broke your nose, stole your lunch money, and fucked your girlfriend, you'd be a fool to call me your friend.

"...if we want to rid the world of terrorism and spread democracy and peace throughout the world."

Replace "terrorism" with "heathenism" and "democracy" with Roman Civilization, or Christianity, or German ethnic Superiority, and it still works. It's the same atitutde behind all of them. The PNAC bullshit of trying to make the whole world a democracy (which has modern corporate and trust law and is safe for banker investment/rape) is just a thin disguise for naked imperialism. Regardless of what the Sec. of Defense or a general says.

While Israel may be contentious and the cause of many headaches, they are also the West's buttress against an expansionist Islam.

Recall what occured when Israel was under Muslim rule after the advent of Islam and following the Crusades.

In the former case, Islam expanded aggressively through north Africa and then INTO SOUTHERN EUROPE until being checked by Charles Martel.

It wasn't until the Reconquista in Spain (ending in 1492 with the Treaty of Granada) that they were finally tossed off the continent.

In the latter case, the Seljuk Turks carried the cause of Islam deep into eastern Europe, establishing the Ottoman Empire which was not pushed back until aftr the first world war, in which it fought on the side of the Germans.

The reality is that Islam, BY EXAMPLE OF THE PROPHET, is an aggressive, expansionist religous philosophy.  Muhammed himself succesfully expanded the faith through a combination of conversion and conquest and established, through his actions, what some Muslim groups would later use as the foundation of the concept of 'Jihad"....what we know as "Holy War".

To that end, Israel is a convenient BUFFER STATE for the West.  Better to have Islam focused on the recapture of Jerusalem than on anything else.

And as an Arabic speaker and student, as one who has spent much time in the middle east, please understand that the capture of Jerusalem is NOT the ultimate goal of Islam.....in their minds it is the FIRST and most critical step to an Islamic WORLD.

So a world without Israel would not be more peaceful.  It would not be a better place.  Because Israel is not the problem.  Israel is the just the wall that seperates you from what lies on the other side.  When that wall comes down, THEN you will understand the true scope of what you are dealing with.

No doubt I will get junked for this by the people who buy into the zionist world control theories, and I have no idea if there is a super secret jewish cabal of bankster illuminati running the world or not.

What I do know is that from a strictly geopolitical and theologically strategic point of view, the West has no better friend than Israel in the struggle against the expansion of Islam.

Now move the doritos wrappers and mountain dew cans out of the way so you have a clear path to the stairs.  Put on a shirt and pants and then walk up the stairs, taking breaks as needed.  Now go outside....see that bright ball in the sky?  That's the sun.  Spend a little time here, it might improve your disposition.

The most cursory glance at history illustrates quite clearly that every last one of the three Abrahamic faiths has since its conception been looking to be sole total overlord of the planet. That's the 'monotheistic' thing: One jealous God simply can't have heretics around constantly false idol-ing his flock. You can argue all you like about peaceful/violent interpretations of the minutae of any of the 'magical' books they hold so dear, but actions don't lie.

The question we are faced with is "which one do you throw your lot in with"?

Because no matter how much you may want them all to just go away, they aren't.  And they will continue to define much of the way the world thinks and acts for centuries to come.

Small minded is someone who thinks you DONT have to choose.

You can pretend all day long that you are above the fray, that you see more options than others, that YOU have evolved.

The reality is that NOTHING YOU THINK MEANS SHIT IN THE REAL WORLD.

WE ARE ALL going to be dragged into the SHITSTORM that is coming.

AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

WTF is wrong with you?

How can you not see the reality of the situation.

You can soapbox all day long about evolving and living different and oppression, but WTF does it accomplish in practical terms?

Are you not going to be affected when the SHTF?  Are you getting a special exemption from the draft (if in US) or taxes or laws because you are a "special thinker"?

NO.  You are trying to live a world that doesn't exist.

So save your holier than thou bullshit for the Occupy meeting.  Because the world works on a different wavelength than your vision, and you WILL be forced to choose, whether or not you like the choice.

it is my belief, and my lived experience, that there is indeed nothing I can do about the warmongers and god-botherers and "evil-doers" of this world, irrespective of which of the MANY sides these threats to humanity fall on.  I have realised that I can not affect their agenda at all, not a bit, and my beliefs are of zero importance to their agenDUHs.

that I choose not to SIDE with any of them, against ANY of the "others" is my re-action to this awareness.  I will never be on the "side" of any "righteous" nor any "evil" because it is all in the eye(s) of those who choose sides.  I don't.  I absent myself from sides, from being boxed in by sides, and the dogma that chosen sides creates in the mind(s).

so go and play your wargames, and I'm betting they're all played indoors, in a computer chair, same as me - except I'm not hoping for death and destruction and righteousness on behalf of some imaginary friends of FatherSkyGods who demand death for the penance of living.

I would counter that all three have been hijacked at times by those who would use them to their purpose.

For instance, Jesus Christ expressly command his followers to turn the other cheek.  Nowhere does Christ condone violence as a conversion tool.

The Koran allows war as a tool for conversion, though you can argue about whether it actually encourages it or not.

The jews just sort of do whatever "God" tells them, so they probably have the most latitude there.

The reality is that the religions are about God and his glorification.

The unfortunate fact is that religion is at the mercy of its most powerful followers and hence their agendas.

During the time of the Islamic Conquest, new subjects were asked if the would convert or pay an extra tax. And ancient books were collected and cherished.

During the time of the Roman Catholic conquest, new subjects were persecuted if not converting, and ancient books were burned.

I'd say if you make a contest of aggression and expansionism, the Pope Team is a clear winner.

By the way, "Jihad" does not mean "holy war", it means "great (social or military) enterprise".

Actually Jihad comes from the verb meaning struggle or effort.  The imams, when needed, express it as 'Holy War' and that is the context we concern oursleves with in the West....because frankly, no other context matters to us.

Lemme see: Islam was an expansionist religion at inception, therefore any modern day adherent of Islam is going to be spending most of their time thinking about expanding into somewhere other than where they actually live. Even sitting at his desk at work, Abdul is daydreamng of conquering the west, slaying the infidel, having his way their women, but only after blowing up stuff big! He probably doesn't even spend a fraction of the time he spends plotting thinking about his own wife and kids, how to get a raise, whether he can meet the next car payment, or pay his mother's hospital bill. Seems kind of weird, but hey, that's just how those mofo Muslims are!

In order to take their warped Muslim minds offa expanding anywhere too far away, the Israelis have, at great risk to themselves, stepped in to save the west from deadly peril by setting up a small decoy state right in their midst! This works so well that the stupid muzzies are fooled into forgetting about their intricate plots to invade the west, but only for the moment. If you let up the pressure, of course they'll be back at their old tricks...that's just how they are, don't ya know!>?!?!

Of course, all this self sacrificing decoy work comes at a cost, and it's only fair to ask that part of that cost be borne by the beneficiaries right? I mean, if you think America paying 4\5ths of it's foreign aid budget to help Israel help us protect ourselves is a bit stiff, maybe you're a bit of a muzzie too!  I mean, how out of touch with American values can you get?  Maybe you deserve to join your friends there in Gitmo!  Police! Police!  Terrorist alert! Help! This one's not buying my Islamic World Jihad schtick!

Don't worry, I'm not gonna junk ya man...You've got some good stuff in there. A person with a very glancing knowledge of history might even buy into it, just because the narrative flows so well. Probably the best piece of disinfo I've seen on this site. You so smooth I can see the puddle. I have no doubt that you studied Arabic and have spent a lot of time in the ME....it's what sionist expansionists do!

Oh, and since yu bin there an everything....those 40 plus American military bases that ring hyper-aggressive Iran, those are like, buttresses against an expansionist Islam right? I knew you thought we were all dumber than mud, but this is getting downright insulting!

Actually it is you who has posted disinfo.  You completely warped what I wrote.

I said that the Israeli's are the best friend we have in the fight against Islam.  I never said that had Altruistic motives.

See everyone posting on this topic is so caught up in what should be, or what "could be", that they are ignoring what is.

It doesn't matter what we THINK about the situation.  The only thing that matters is what those in charge think.

Until the system changes, until there is a revolution to throw them out.  Nothing will change.

And even if there is a revolution, the change is in no way garaunteed to be what you think it will.

The entire universe follows a very simple rule.  Expand or Die.  Grow or Fail.

This rule applies to Nations just as it does to galaxies and planets.

History is on my side.

But you keep trying to make a moral argument of it.  I'm sure it will keep you warm when the long night comes.

Since what you wrote was a fictional narrative, there is no point to complaining about others embellishing it. Rather than 'warp' what you wrote, I have merely weaved your material into the form which sheds best light onto your motive for attempting to persuade the reader that a radical jewish-atheistic messianic cult which has beguiled the socieities of the west into abandoning their own self interest is somehow the protector of those same interests.

Whether out of frustration, or the typical fatal arrogance of the racial hegemonist sionist, your response to this expose has done me the favor of reinforcing my point, as your metaphysical blatherings about history, galaxies, and univeral rules shows all the classic attributes of the jewish-atheist supremacist at their worst. After all, it should have been painfully obvious to you that the attempt to foist onto Muslims, and Iranians in particular, the very sins of the expansionist messianic cultists of israel would be doomed to failure in this venue. But I suppose that in the expansionary-ego milieus in which you work, the fantasy of another contrived victory over common sense compels you to the effort. Please continue with your revealing testimony!

Here we are in February 2012, the Spring and Summer driving season is coming, and tensions are ratcheting up with Iran.

Gas prices in February 2008 averaged ~$3.10 per gallon. Right now they stand at $3.47.

Later in 2008, after the largest oil price spike in history, the entire global financial system was brought to near collapse.

In 2011 we have a very fragile European debt crisis that could easily spin out of control due to a spike in oil prices. I wonder what comes next?

I have nothing in the way of educated arguments via supported facts to add to the discussion on Iran other than speculation and opinion.

However, something of interest was that I was getting my haircut this weekend (not of interest) and my barber is from Iran (of interest). Really nice guy, and quite candid, so I asked his opinions on the current Iran 'nuclear' situation.

He said that most Iranians (at least the ones he knows) think that Ahmadinejad is an idiot/terrorist and just a puppet of the ayatollah, which he is, of course. They think the ayatollah is a terrorist, too, and greatly dislike the govt and theocracy, but what can they [the people] do?

I asked about the development of nuclear 'power' and he just laughed and said, why would they bother building nuclear power plants when they have lots of cheap oil? Of course it's for weapons.

Not new news, but I guess when even the Iranian people don't believe their own govt, how could the Iran govt expect the international community to? Although, I'm would posit that they obviously assume that no one beleives them, anyway.

At the end of the day, it seems that no matter what country you look at there is one overarching commonality we, the people, all share: disdain and distrust of and for our govts.

I think most here would agree that we, global citizens, would likely be better off with much, much more limited govt.

Why and how do we even let these fools 'govern' us? Says a lot about 'us', doesn't it?

It is almost like there is a double standard. Might have to do with every single major network being founded by a Persian. Oh wait, they aren't all Persian...

What are you talking about?  Of course killing scientists is terrorism.

It's just that the "terrorist" label doesn't stick to actions carried out by Western powers including Israel.  Those are the "good guys", and anything they do is "necessary" and "for the good of the people".

Once again the US are going out on a limb for Isreal, which has done exactly what for us recently? Or ever, actually? Oh, I forgot the US government is now fully inflitrated by Zionist advisors that are everywhere. Kinda explains everything I guess.

Lol ... Congress is paralyzed from blackmail and frightened of the Israeli hiding behind every curtain waiting to murder them or their families (you can tell they are afraid)... and seemingly strangely frequent occurences of convenient plane crashes and two bullet to the back of the head suicides has done nothing to asuage that fear.

Children and their games. One wonders how great this world could be without the constant sowing of fear and polarization.

The US is not going out on a limb for Israel. Not this time at least. The US Government is concerned about the threat to the Petro-dollar. This level of desperation signals that Iran (Russia, China, and India) have a good shot at doing just that. Do you really think that gas at 3.50 reflects its REAL value? Guess again. Wait until we can't print paper in exchange for oil anymore. Enjoy that Escalade!

My thinking on this is that a war is not imminent. Obama et al are just keeping the Iran situation simmering on the back burner in case they need it later this Summer. They can't just declare a war out of nothing. They have to keep the drums beating in the background.

LaRouche had the gaul to say he (FDR) needed to (let Japan bomb the harbour) the other day.  I find it interesting that not one man or woman out there understands the full picture.  Celent has the right idea about how to save one's money, then he trades gold on futures.  Jones disagrees with the Globalists on all fronts, and because geologists say oil's production will peak, Jones disagrees.  Tarpley is a great historian, but he believes in the oxymoron that is fiat money.  The problems are rather simple, but everyone has an agenda I guess.

Celente is the real deal I think but Jones and Tarpley work for the jew supremacists who are the Illuminati-these two scumbags do all they can to hide the truth.
