Deconstructing Gingrich

Tyler Durden's picture

This is neither here nor there, but is, for all intents and purposes, the best take down of the utter and complete hypocrisy that now reigns supreme in the GOP primary process. Thank you Jon Stewart for doing the thinking that so many other Americans seem utterly incapable of any longer.

Gingrich is there for the base to have someone other than Romney to latch on to. Basically a rallying distraction who in the end will find his supporters funneled to Romney.

Romney being the White Obama. Romney being prechosen as the next POTUS.

I absolutely think there will be a "door number 3" in the end...

As much as I hate to say it... The path of least resistance (for the oligarchs) is Obama... It's doubtful that they don't have a Plan B, but Plan A is still in effect so long as they can continue to have discredited hopefuls fighting amongst themselves... And to think... None of the "bottom cards" have even needed to be played yet...

In deference to Dr. Paul, if youre an intelligent man with ideas that are a bit complex for the typical American ( read single cell organism that enjoys football and Cheetos ) to grasp , and you get about 3 minutes total to convey these I would expect most men would have trouble with a smooth and polished delivery.

That being said, even Paul admits that hes horrible getting his words out at times.

Newt is only slightly less disgusting to me than Kissinger. And that's saying a lot.

Have you ever travelled to different parts of the world and actually engaged the local culture? Obviously not...The outside world is a much different place than is portrayed on CNN and Faux. Much of the Western world is focused on the Repub debates and the overwhelming choice is Dr. Paul. The view from afar clearly sees that Santorum is your standard right-wing demagogue/hypocrite/unqualified, Romney as a willing stooge to the MIC (military-industrialcomplex) and Gingrich as the embodiment of cronyism, very publicly whoring his chances in exchange for corporate cash.

I'm going back to Mexico, for some peace and quiet.

I don't think that's it...

Bread and Circus - With American politics being the ultimate Circus.  Now that it looks like the Republican nomination may stretch all of the way to the convention, I've started thinking back to the last election.  What great theater they provided when a black man, with a Muslim sounding name, faced off against a former first lady.  You almost can't make that up, right?  And all of this happens right in the middle of the beginning of the economic collapse (which is still just beginning, but I digress).

So now the stage is set on the opposite side of the room.  Someone here posted a "conspiracy theory" about a brokered convention leading to a Jeb Bush nomination.  Well, the conspiracy theory is becoming a meme http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/01/23/dick_armey_predicts_a_brokered_convention.html - Though I don't think Jeb Bush seems like the next step if the evolution of our fascist presidency... I think Mitch Daniels or Chris Christy fits that role better.

So what I expect to see (or what will further convince me that EVERYTHING is a circus)... a brokered convention... the popular vote is meaningless... someone not running gets the nomination... Daniels/Christy vs. Obama/Clinton (after he trades Clinton for Biden).

You almost can't make this up, right?  Almost.

>>>You almost can't make this up, right?  Almost.<<<

It's being written about because it's something to write about.  Same brokered convention nonsense speculation from the dem side in 2004 and 2008.

Few people understand the intricacies of binding and commitment of delegates on a state by state basis.  Do a little homework re: the last time either party had a brokered convention.  Try to talk to somebody re: what happens in backrooms and convention hall floor to delegates (when their candidate dropped out of the race) on 2nd and 3rd round balloting if it ever comes to that.  Find someone who has actually been on a convention floor.

Ron Paul is the worst nightmare of TPTB and they are doing everything in their power to keep him from office. So that leaves only two fucked up choices, 1. vote for whatever puppet is placed before us by the ruling class, along with similar republican congressional leaders, and hope that the public can influence some sort of redirection of the current course. or 2. start planning to relocate to a new country as there appears to be no hope, and completely no change in the government.

People are not stupid, they can figure this out....

Oh and having a bunch of people saying no to raising any taxes but still wanting their entitlements for 10-20 cents on the dollar  is not going to help either....

I have watched the Deficiet since the Carter Administration.

Borrowing money was a very bad thing. I started to learn about money when the Silver Certificates became Federal Reserve Notes.

Back in those days it was necessary to bulk up the Military big enough, fast enough to make the USSR implode under it's own spending. And we got it done.

But they wanted to cut just about everything. The M1, the B1 Bones, the Patriot system, and so on so forth etc etc etc.

All of these systems which has bought us Victory and saved lives in battle since.

Welfare State on the other hand... whew was that ever a BIG issue back then.

Clinton could do a little bit, the Bushs did what they had to and Obama spent all the money in the Free World since the birth of this Nation up to his election. All 230+ years of it in 4.

I find that crazy. Not just ludicrus spending gone plaid, it's gone to beyond the Dollar.

One way to put a collar and leash on that. Gold Standard!

Tue, 01/24/2012 - 14:33 | 2093273 Flakmeister
Flakmeister's picture

We can debate the merits of the Reagan buildup vis a vis the already imploding USSR, that another story...

The emergence of the mentality of getting something for nothing and its relation to the Federal budget is firmly in rooted in the '80s...

That is where we lost our way, every even handed analysis of revenues and expenditures leads to that conclusion.  Look at the derivative of the Debt/GDP ratio....

Things improved under Clinton, mainly because of cheap oil, declining interest rates and the emergence of the Internet.... Clinton had very little to do with it, but, at least he had the sense to pare down the deficit and debt...

GWB performed scorched earth on the finances by simulataneously cutting taxes on the kleptocrats and going to War...

Call me old fashioned but when a country goes to war, it means common sacrifice for a common goal, not a fucking handout to the rich....

So, piss and moan all you want about Obummer, but he inherited a proverbial shitshow (and proceeded to drop the ball).....

Ok, good question. Answer is obvious. We're all screwed.

Now, what do you think will be different if we elect Gingrich or Mittens, as opposed to Obama? THEY'RE ALL THE FUCKING SAME!!!!

They all:

1. support some kind of nationalized health care

2. support endless wars overseas, at the same time talking about reducing the debt out of the other side of their mouths

3. support detaining american citizens indefinitely without trial in the name of national security. A dangerous precident, indeed.

So tell me, how are any of the "anointed" ones any different than Obama?

If these douche-bags are going to ruin the country, I'd rather just get it over with and start over, instead of having a long drawn out decline because one of them MIGHT do it a bit slower than Obama would.

I voted for Obama, no question it was a huge mistake on my part. I was not planning to vote for him again, under any circumstance. But if gingrich runs I shall vote for him. if youi look up on line: narcisstic personality disorder this man has all the hallmarks. hence it would be a disaster.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder

Symptoms of this disorder include, but are not limited to:

  • Reacts to criticism with anger, shame, or humiliation
  • May take advantage of others to reach his or her own goal
  • Tends to exaggerate their own importance, achievements, and talents
  • Imagines unrealistic fantasies of success, beauty, power, intelligence, or romance
  • Requires constant attention and positive reinforcement from others
  • Easily becomes jealous
  • Lacks empathy and disregards the feelings of others
  • Obsessed with oneself
  • Mainly pursues selfish goals
  • Trouble keeping healthy relationships
  • Is easily hurt and rejected
  • Sets unreal goals
  • Wants "the best" of everything
  • Appears as tough-minded or unemotional [3]

The symptoms of Narcissistic personality disorder can be similar to the traits of individuals with strong self-esteem and confidence, differentiation occurs when the underlying psychological structures of these traits are considered pathological. Narcissists have such an elevated sense of self-worth that they value themselves as inherently better than others. Yet, they have a fragile self-esteem and cannot handle criticism, and will often try to compensate for this inner fragility by belittling or disparaging others in an attempt to validate their own self-worth. It is this sadistic tendency that is characteristic of narcissism as opposed to other psychological conditions affecting level of self-worth.

I would suggest that nearly all politicians who rise to the highest political offices suffer from narcissitic personality disorder... it's a self selecting condition, if you spend much time thinking about it.  I would extend the observation beyond just politics... Our major institutions are run by pyschopaths... from academia, to corporate America, to our religious organizations.

Just like the fake news show ass-clown Jon Stewart (Lebowitz) who thinks he's so important and tells the truth that he denies he is a politcal player and is only a comedian, and admits that he doesn't tell the whole truth and his braindead audience laps it up.  Jon Jon is on Comedy Central and you people take him seriously. He might as well be on Saturday Night Live because who in the hell would believe any of that.......oh wait the people who voted for this JOKE of a Prez and vote democrat DO believe this garbage.   When are fools going to get the fact that these pathetic shows are just an extention of the MSM/Political Elites propaganda to the useful idiots who nod their heads in agreement.  Baaaaahh. so much truth in a seemingly throwaway few words. . . if people would stop WANTING what they WANT, and start paying attention to the WHOLE picture, without trying to pick at the parts you can "live with" and ignoring parts you can't deal with mentally. . .

then the bubble of lies would burst, the truth of how beyond "fixing" the WHOLE system is, and time could be spent more meaningfully preparing for what is inevitable, not wasting months playing the election year games.

In fact, Ron Paul would bring about the inevitable collapse even faster.  He needs to be in charge of picking up the pieces after the collapse... there is nothing that can "fix" our credit/debt based monetary system.  Collapse is coming, it's just timing.

I understand this way of thinking, but I believe there is more control over the whole picture, from behind the scenes if you will, than people want to acknowledge - and I think those who seek a "global" solution to the "world's problems" are still pulling the strings. . .

if one listens carefully to Newt, you'll hear the "one world" agenda buzzwords being sown - irrespective of who "wins" the prize of "president" - anyone who thinks a figurehead position calls the shots, at this stage, well. . . sorry.

(not aimed at you kridkrid, just my riffing off your post. . .)

Right on. Professional wrestling works, too.

Tue, 01/24/2012 - 13:27 | 2093015 kridkrid
kridkrid's picture

I think there is a balance between the NFL and Professional wrestling.  I think most races are kind of "real" in that both nominees are sincerely trying to get elected and it is very real for them (like the NFL).  I think sometimes some of it is a bit staged (GHWB yawning and checking his watch during the '92 debate... I think Bush was going to be a one-term president... things needed to be done that needed a D president to get done, i.e. NAFTA).  But just like the NFL wins no matter who wins, the elite win no matter what the outcome.  The candidates are perfectly vetted and are resigned to obey.

Tue, 01/24/2012 - 13:33 | 2093032 Spastica Rex
Spastica Rex's picture

You make a good point. I agree - typically, each team or individual player wants to win and will benefit materially from doing so.

Tue, 01/24/2012 - 13:44 | 2093067 kridkrid
kridkrid's picture

That's part of what makes the illusion so real.  It's pretty similar to other reality TV.  Survivor is "real" in that those contestants are sincerely trying to win.  Red meat gets dropped in and stuff gets scripted so that narratives can develop, but it "works" on TV because there is some level of "sport" to it, I think (I say that... I don't watch the show, but I think I know enough about it to makes a few observations).  The show creators don't really care who wins, they just need there to be good drama.  I'm sure if they want to or need to, they can tweak things to influence the outcome... but why do they really need to?  People tune in to see the trainwreck.

The "work" done is in casting.  How do you cast so that drama/tension can exist?  And when do you drop storylines that are not appealing in favor of ones that are?

Tue, 01/24/2012 - 15:20 | 2093512 Cathartes Aura
Cathartes Aura's picture

indeed, the "work" is done in the casting - if one understands the "sociopath self - selecting" idea of politicians - which should be fairly obvious if one just looks at CONgress, and realise the massive "prizes" awarded to those who "win" - with the "consolation prize" being attention, which all sociopaths crave - then one begins to understand how it's the system that's corrupted, and it cannot be "fixed."

The pilot of this giant plane is a highly trained, highly qualified pilot who is constantly under close supervision by the officers of the greatest military the world has ever known. It is a very nice plane with a one hell of a capacity. I suspect the pilot was standing on wingtip and pulled a tad too hard and caused the entire wing to stall from end to the fuselage.

Too much Pilot Brass Nuts I say.

You should see some of the 747's and what it took to recover and save them from a crash during landing. And those birds are lumbering sleds compared to the C17.

I watched a A10 pilot in a airshow decades ago throw the plane in a carefully executed drill routine in all three dimensions. It was required that the pilot do everything correct and that the plane be perfect in every way, especially the Hydraulics.

His ability to point the cannon in any direction at 50 feet AGL at will within a box about 2000 feet long, 150 feet high and about 300 wide was absolutely.... eye opener.

With that said, I always love a little playtime with the Military Folks when they are allowed to just say "Fuck it, let's throw this bitch around..." well... dont throw anything you are not ready to yet.
