Dollar Tumbling To Record Low Against Swiss Franc, New Lows Against Yen

Tyler Durden's picture

For an early look at the risk aversion gripping the market look no further than the USDCHF and the USDJPY, the first of which just took out 0.75, and the second now almost at BOJ intervention levels. Ironically, since the math Ph.D.s have still not recalibrated their models, it is very likely that the collapse in the dollar will lead to an explosion in ES courtesy of the inverse correlation, which will once and for all confirm that global capital markets and now nothing but a robotic circus.

The Young Plan was a program for settlement of German reparations debts after World War I written in 1929 and formally adopted in 1930.

It was presented by the committee headed (1929–30) by American Owen D. Young.

After the Dawes Plan was put into operation (1924), it became apparent that Germany could not meet the huge annual payments, especially over an indefinite period of time.

The Young Plan reduced further payments to 112 billion Gold Marks, US $8 billion in 1929 (US$ 103 billion in 2011) over a period of 59 years (1988).

In addition, the Young Plan divided the annual payment, set at two billion Gold Marks, U.S. $473 million, into two components, one unconditional part equal to one third of the sum and a postponable part for the remaining two-thirds.

The Committee, which had been appointed by the Allied Reparations Committee, met in the first half of 1929, and submitted its first report on June 7 of that year.

In addition to Young, the United States was represented by J. P. Morgan, Jr., the prominent banker, and his partner, Thomas W. Lamont. The report met with great objections from the United Kingdom but, after a first Hague Conference, a plan was finalized on August 31.

The plan was formally adopted at a second Hague Conference, in January 1930. Amongst other provisions, the plan called for an international bank of settlements to handle the reparations transfers.

The resulting Bank for International Settlements was duly established at the Hague Conference in January.

LONDON, Aug 7 (Reuters) - The Euro system of central banks
has decided to intervene decisively on markets to respond to
the escalating debt crisis, a euro zone monetary source said
after a European Central Bank conference call on Sunday.
Officials on the conference call carefully considered the
situation in Italy and Spain, and took note of a statement by
France and Germany which stressed their commitment to European
financial reforms, the source said.
"The Euro system will intervene very significantly on
markets and respond in a significant and cohesive way," the
euro zone monetary source said, adding a statement by the ECB
will be issued shortly.

God, am I glad that the worthless post-WW2 era is now finally coming to an end.

No more kow-towing before an arrogant America and its stinking money elite.

No more kow-towing before the Rockefeller-Rothschild axis of evil.

Germany should stage an attack on the Bilderberg conference and have all its attendees killed, so that this madness is finally coming to an end.

It can only get better now.

Of course, you realize, the European bankers have been doing this for centuries and brought this to the US via the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, which made them founding members and owners of our TBTF banks in America.  The Federal Reserve is a reconquista occupier of America which has grown into the biggest bully.

USDCHF will rise back by morning. Short EUR not Dollar.
EUR at 1.44 is absurd. I don't know why they keep it that high.
In order to easy crisis EZ needs to devalueate EUR and cut interest
rates and they do just about appositive.

The question i ask my self is: Are these people in power willing not to print in order to save the system?

We all know they are willing to print, but what if its not a choice of banks or people; but banks or the system?

if they print the debt then the banks are saved but the system folds, do to criticaly high inflation.

And the banks may go anyway.

So far we havent seen nor do i think we will see the great powers panic or loose control.

But that means little to those who have built a lifestyle and a lively hood on a credit account they may no longer have access to; or can afford.

Why should a 40k a year salary purchase a 2million dollar lifestyle? Cash on the barral head or no sale. Could be our future, as it was our past.

About double deep: in 2008 Liquidity in the system was twice as lower at least as banks were deleveraging. Today we have enormous liquidity, 0% rates everywhere you look and no place to hide. + Dollar is weaker by huge margin. Let's say you bought US Market in Swiss Franks in Jun 2011, buy now you already lose 30% at least Besides in 2008 OZ GOLD when S&P hit 666 was worth $750-775 Basically just 20% below Gold spot So IMHO 666 on SPX then about 1100 Now, value wise, not even GOLD wise. Conclusion? rise in US indexes was merely due to liquidity and Dollar devaluation, So if Bernank ads more fuel, yes Markets could go up, but that will be just for exactly same reason, which is DOW /S&P inflation.
