Egan Jones Downgrades The UK From AA To AA-

Tyler Durden's picture

When one is expected to go down for missing a comma in their NRSRO application, one at least should go down swinging. Sure enough, Egan-Jones, the only rating agency with any credibility left, is at it again, this time cutting the big momma itself - the UK - from AA to AA-.

6/4/2012: United Kingdom: EJR lowered AA to AA- (Neg.) Projected A+ (S&P: AAA) (6152Z LN)

Synopsis: On the balance of payment side, imports have exceeded exports by an average of approximately 500B pounds annually over the past several years. The major problems for the UK is that Europe's banking crisis does not appear to be abating as evidenced by the miserable results of most EU banks. On the fiscal side, the deficit to GDP has declined over the past three years from 11.5% to 8.3%, which is a respectable decline, but the bulk of the reduction was the result of increased taxes since GDP growth was weak. The over-riding concern is whether the country will be able to continue to cut its deficit in the face of weaker economic conditions and a possible deterioration in the country's financial sector. Unfortunately, we expect that the UK's debt/GDP will continue to rise and the country will remain pressed.

Full report here.

This chart may have something to do Egan-Jones decision:

I think  you may be overstating a bit....(not that I think she deserves any of it).....

I was reading something about the so-called "Royal" Family's wealth....and I guess that all of the "royal property"...such as Buckingham Palace,  the crown jewels, and any other properies that belong to the "commons" are not calculated or added into her net worth....because she does not have the ability or right to sell them.  (the swans on the Thames are also supposedly property of the commons...haha - not shitting you)

This make the Queen ONLY the 267th wealthiest person in the UK  -  She's basically a high-class pauper living on the DOLE.

Great. After this downgrade, the SEC will probably accuse Egan Jones of distributing porn to children.  Or fraud.  Or treason.  Meanwhile, the MF Global trail has "gone cold" even despite all the public disclosures of obvious fraud.  But then again, I guess any trail would go cold when other people's money just "vaporized."  Gotta love the SEC's apparent motto:  "Preserve, protect, and defend the banksters and politicians at all costs."  Meanwhile, if you tell the truth, the SEC will drop the hammer on you.  Good luck, Egan Jones.  You are going to need it now.  I see another SEC investigation in 3...2...1...

Elect a socialist......?

What do you think we have now?

All politicians are socialists in the UK. It works like this, corporate buddies have their losses socialised among the masses. After government the enabling politicians recieve ridiculously over generous pay from said corporations for virtualy no work.

Matters not if you are Tory, Lib dem, Labour. Its socialism under different banners. Big government doing the bidding of its corporate masters at te expense of a largely sleeping and dumbed down electorate.

Mr "we`r all in this togerther`, call me Dave" Cammeron is a socialist through and through, erm until it comes to his own trust fund, that is HIS!

The 4-day shindig was more a chance for the serfs to enjoy some relief, rather than any comment on HRH who betrayed Britain's sovereignty by signing the Lisbon Treaty.

She's a good dutiful woman who has been misled by money masters, eg after the 2008 bank bust, she asked the fancy pants economists at the LSE: 'Who knew? Why didn't anyone know?'

Remember: the world's biggest bank bust ever was the so-called Royal Bank of Scotland, the viper's nest of the Rothschilds who retain their minority holding whilst the taxpayer and unemployed bail out that thing, and the Rothschild retain their anonymity, along with the useless Coutts Bank.

It is my unhappy task to relay the the following communication, overheard by the handlers of the Queen's most loyal confidantes, the Corgis.

HRH, Queen Elizabeth II, upon hearing the news of the downgrade was somewhat perplexed: 'Instruct Egon Ronay that he is to confine his ratings to restaurants. He is quite good at that.'

Courtier: 'Ma'am, there is another person named Egon.'

'Really? Why? It's an exotic name. That's enough tolerance,' said HRH, somewhat miffed.

'Ma'am, on this occasion of your Diamond Jubilee, and most gracious presence among the people and the media folk who do so desperately need a diversion from their serfdom ....I am sorry, Ma'am...but I must inform you that this person Egon is not a subject of the Crown.'

'Not a subject of the Crown?' Her Maj is not pleased. 'Rothschild.  What's he doing about this? He's been dispatched to deal with the colonies, again. With that chap Rockabilly.'

'Rockefeller, Ma'am. Yes...well...This may take longer. It's the Republic, you see. 1776, and all that. They...'.

'Yes. That's enough now,' as HRH ends this tiresome audience with a courtier, and gazes upon the happy crowds, so very relieved that they love their Monarchy, and Big Brother.

'Inform Egon that he is to review restaurants in future.'

'Yes, Ma'am,' as the courtier backs out of the room, and informs the Rothschild/Rockefellers of Her Majesty's displeasure at this somewhat unpleasant turn of events.
