EUR Plunges On Late Day L-Pap Scaremongering
With G-Pap talking of federalism all morning at Zeitgeist, the M.A.D. button was just pressed again by L-Pap as only minutes after we hear of a drop-in-a-bucket EFSF rescue fund for Greek banks, Dow Jones notes:
Preparations for Greece Euro Exit Considered, Papademos Says: DJ

That didn't take long.
How many Greeks do the bulls have to play whack-a-mole with? They are popping out like a seven head hydra at every turn.
and yet the eurosheeple cling to their worthless pieces of paper....

That is why we are having a summit tomorrow.. All those Euro shorts are adding to on this move and are about to get their faces ripped off.
I hope you're right ... I sold all my remaining EUO at 3:58pm
Too many specs are leaning one way. They are asking for it.
Yea right, this time is different. The summit will come up with a fix for everything, unlike they did the Summit(n) times ago.
they don't have to actually "fix" anything ... they just need rumors about 'agreements' for a faceripping short squeeze Euro rally to happen
Need to plan the next Summit
You are exactly right, i jumped out and to the other side in expectation of an LTRO. It wasn't looking like a good decision around 2pm but finally turned around late in the day. The market acted like a schizo today, one large and long head fake.
I think there is something else coming as well, anticipation of something positive coming out on JPM or maybe the Fed is going to piggyback on the ECD's money printing activities, if he doesn't the dollar will get dramatically stronger relative to the Euro which ultimately translates to other pairs.
Given the action in the financials it seems that something is coming, whether its from Goldman, JPM or others. Myabe more are caught in the same trade?
Depends on insider information.
If Greece goes, so does the other european banks and in turn their countries. Pap called their bluff and they threw a little money which won't do anything except allow for more people to pull money out of their bank accounts.
stock market is falling out of bed - 80 point drop in the DOW in about 5 minutes ... and 15 minutes of trading left for the day
they're running low on lipstick

Damn !!! Should have bought gold in Euros...
u gotta love Gartman
no, really, you don't
Funny how we knew all about this Greek EUR exit preparation LAST WEEK already, and the market is acting as if it is new NEWS today!
Can we stop all the "wondering" and the rumors and just get real?
Greece will never leave the Euro.
Never, ever, never, never, ever, nerver.
...until it does.
Never, ever, never, never, ever, nerver is a long time.
"GREECE WILL NEVER LEAVE THE EURO"
And I say: The Euro will be leaving Europe.
I would just like to point out that, should this happen, that is left is "pe" ... seems about right!
Regards,
Cooter
Then Germany will.
Everyone to the other side of the pool....
In other news, another great day for dollar cost averaging down on your Facebook shares for all you early adopters...
why even bother? not telling where support is on that stock.
wake me up when my $4 bids are filling

What is the Greek word for "Olé!"?
"Opa!"
And that's what the citizens of Europe will be saying 12 months after exiting the Euro.
Much like Waterboarding, there can't be "co-operation" until there is fear of DEATH.
Europe is beyond repair and the only co-operation required is in dismantling the Euro. The only people being waterboarded right now are the common people, who are being scared by threats of chaos if they do not vote for austerity.
We will only cooperate with death at the Bastille. Follow us on Facebook.
Fade into the close.
Curtain call.
Just put in order for FB at $30.25. Could happen on this whoosh. Close to low band of $28 originally considered. I still like the payment authentication potential even more than ad stuff.
My first foray into the stock btw. Didn't participate earlier, long nor short.
you got money to waste?
You, Sir, are in dreamy lalaland. The stock, which is probably worth $2-$4/share, is being propped up by the massive IPO buying of the big boys. So far, they've been patient for two whole days.
When they lose confidence that this stock will EVER reach $38 again, or when they have margin calls, fair value beckons...
that you Morgan? Where's Stanley?
You should use your money as rolling paper, you'll get a better ROI...
what a beautiful chart!
Dear L-PAP Will you just shut the fuck up???? You were not elected and you have nothing to do with anything any more, just go kill yourself you fucking piece of shit
Silly wabbit. Long is for stoopids.
Did you not learn a single thing from James Bond movie titles, Lost Wages?
Never say never. Again.
In Other News ... HELL IS COMPLETELY FROZEN OVER!
Yes. They are having a meeting tomorrow to schedule the meeting where they will meet to discuss an upcoming urgent meeting to plan a meeting where they may at some point mention a Greek exit. In passing.
Tomorrow, may I remind you. This time it is serious.

Even w/o Greece the Euro ponzi will need a high protection wall, to protect uber-alles bankstas and their own shitty sovereign bonds; they are all tied down like galley slaves. Oh the wet dream about the incestuous euro bond! Merkel hates the idea of going bed sharing with smelly footed club med!

As much as I hope that Greece leaves , then spain, then Portugal and the implosion of the Euro- we all know that the Printing press will soon be open nonstop printing Eurobonds. I wish I would just wake up one morning and read that Greece told the EU to fuck off- but it aint gonna happen.
They'll need 2 printing presses. One to print Eurobonds and one to print Euros to buy Eurobonds with.
Easier than taking it out of someone else's pocket.
More like a Schrodinger's cat...
Both alive and dead.
Or a live cat that wishes it was dead.
But Bloomberg said that stocks were up because of improving existing sales, what has Greece got to do with that?
With all the fiat money that has been printed, for instance 60% of the treasuries in the USA were bought by the FED since 2008. We are on the way to a dilution of the purchase power of the capitals we have around. No other way, when you expand the monetary base in this manner that you will be able to grow the goods and services that the economy can generate fast enough to maintain the balance. Inbalances will be eaten out by inflatioin.
With the FED lending to the government and the banks and nearly 0% interest rate. The whole thing means legal hidden confiscation of capital under way worldwide. Nothing less, nothing more than the same old that governments have done when in need.
And as always, those helping the governments do it, get a lot richer on the way, thus the inequality increases that will only get worse as time passes by. All this is, of course, if they can make it happen without a revolution, which they are preparing laws to help them manage internal instability and training their police forces, as you can witness happening both in the USA and abroad.
Until next time,
Engineer
Just bought some more of my favorite gold stocks...what a nice afternoon gift. Thanks Nikos!

They really have diabolic minds. Look this Euro shit they invented. It stays in europeans nightmares day after day and it's turned to be an authentic thriller all over the World. Seems those kind of never endig awful TV series.
Pappy II got a nice payment for making that statement in the true spirit of crony capitaljism.
...estimates a cost of 500 Billion to 1 Trillion euros.
I missed the part about who's expected to pay...

Looks like it will be a head on collision as each of them thinks the other guy will change course
It is really funny! Those Greeks are the tin foils of economic world, making a hard time to everyone. I dodn't know whether GS has insider infos about their next move.
saved that news for the last hour ... 3:00 to 4:00 pm muppet beat down.
WTF! There is bad news everywhere and PM are still dropping like a rock.... I have been stacking this whole ride down from 38.00 oz for silver, and just bought more yesterday. Is this shit ever going to turn or is it just mental masterbation think it is.
u should have bought Gold.
Market can stay irrational longer than you can stay liquid...
Relax, a good trade, Thursday and Friday PM up while market down...
Since the market is down about 30% since 2000 and Gold is up 700 percent, I think we are good...
But, if you are not sufficiently margined, you better be right about what and WHEN, no just what...
Stay liquid my friends...

REVERSIES!!!! EEEK OUT A POSTITIVE CLOSE!!!!
HOW F'ING GAY CAN THIS ACTUALLY GET?
I don't know. How f'ing gay do you want it to get?
I love people who still use the word "gay" in a derogatory way, here in 2012.
It makes me remember the joyous days of my teens in the 1980s oh, so well.
How do you know I didn't mean happy?
One just knows certain things, without fearing the wrath of incorrect assumptions.
Well, i'm sorry to offend your metrosexuality and need for political correctness to the LGBT community when referencing 'gay' in a rant against Wall Street corruption.
I'm going to flog myself accordingly for the faux pas. It just wasn't as fabuloous as I was hoping for.
Political correctness is not what I seek, nor what you would be practicing by nixing the use of "gay" in a derogatory manner.
I hate Wall Street corruption, too, but I rant against by not offending a single societal group - other than lying and thieving politicians and bankster-gangsters.
Oh, and you aren't offending my metrosexuality. Merely leave negative references to my sexuality out of this conversation, okay?
Why would anyone on a website like this care whether you are gay?
The fact is 'gay' is an insult. Get used to it.
Fuck it. Maybe some people see being gay as derogatory. This is still Amerika and if you don't like someone's speech, too fucking bad, don't listen. Feel free to call the markets 'hetero', I don't think anyone will complain.
Indeed. In the spirit of humor I'll simply add,

yeah, like back in those those joyous days of the 50's.

Does scaremongering give one a sense of purpose?
If the scaremongering be subjective rants of book talking, sure, would agree...
There is a time when the "scaremongering" changes to an objective warning and those relaying the message are weathermen warning of a tornado...
Subjectively, I believe that day is coming, objectively, if I am correct, you should be scared...
Stay liquid my friends...

Funny how the euro crash is showing on the gold price chart too.
I have been told so many times that gold was great when fiat currencies collapsed. Well, it's not.
Do you still transact business each day in a local paper currency?
If so they haven't collapsed yet. Try again when your grocer doesn't accept a greenback. Then we can talk of how PMs perform in a collapse. We aren't there yet.
You haven't been to Greece in a long time, have you?
Never been to Greece.
Are grocers there not accepting Euros?
They are.
But their cash registers have no bin to hold shavings of gold.
Correct, that's what the pants pockets are for.
Well what caused the market to go up at the end? It seemed so unnatural.
Strippers & Viagra ?
Are you new here? /sarc

Under the reign of the ECB, Trillions of Euro worth of loans have been set-up mutually between its member states. These loans bear full-fledged interest in any of their legs. Most of those loans are circular, thus harder to resolve by means of the states involved directly in any of those circular scams. Those mutual loans comprised some 2/3 of the EU sovereign debt May 2011 .
Europe can solve its debt problem in the manner described un our report,
