FaceBerg Diverges From Founder Age

Tyler Durden's picture

A $27 handle... that is all. Just two brief (billionaire-list-demoting) weeks ago, Mark Zuckerberg passed 28 years old, any guesses where the FB stock price will be when he passes 29?

FB Option-Land

Open-Interest was over 5 to 4 biased to Puts at last night's close and today's volume is over 6 to 5 biased to Puts - with the June $30 Calls most active (against the June $30 Puts yesterday). 365k lots yesterday compares with 170k lots so far today.

I think it's funny that people keep giving price targets, when it's obvious there's not only no discovery process, but the standard of measure is made of Silly Putty. if the circus wants to promote FB to the center ring, well then, it will happen, regardless of what the mass of carbon-based entities desire.

Any estimates of valuations in dollars only hold true for the shortest of time spans.

Stock will go through a series of ups and downs as each revenue generation idea is rolled out, only to be followed by large groups of users heading for the exits.

Stock eventually drifts to $5 and Zuck & Co. take it private with an initial bid around $9 and a deal somewhere around $12.  Maybe not within a year, but this is my prediction.

I thought they had planned to roll out even MORE stock, which I'm guessing would make any existing stock even more worthless. Well, given something with no value can become even "more" worthless - only in the world of TBTF, right?

Been following this here on ZH for entertainment. The funniest bit so far had to be the "hiccup" at Nasqaq that accidentally tipped off the massive sell by the TBTF HFT algos, before they could finish fleecing the retail mob. Oopsies.

So can Morgan Stanley now discontinue the remaining "roll out" of the worthless stock, or what's up? You'd think that, if people knew the date when MORE of this crap stock was being dumped on the market, they'd "short" it for that date?

Wed, 05/30/2012 - 16:47 | 2477303 Matt

Are you sure they are planning on diluting the shares? You sure it wouldn't just be sales of existing shares they kept, rather than selling all of them on day 1? Of course, at this point any large sale would lower the price, unless the algos can be tricked into bidding them up.

5 to 4 biased to Puts at last night's close and today's volume is over 6 to 5 biased to Puts

Sounds like the makin's of the mother of all short squeezes. I'm guessing these players are as naked as a baby's bum. With everybody on one side of the ship making the easy (apparently) bets, here comes the face ripper.

i gradutated HS in 1977 and a bunch of classmates and I have been using facebook as a common meeting place to plan our 35th reunion which will be this July.  that is why I go to facebook.  to talk to old friends.  i honestly could not even tell you who advertises on facebook.  when i look to buy something online i search for the product.  i don't go to facebook to see if i can buy it through one of their advertisers.  while this is a very simplistic description i think it hits on why facebook is worth zero.  i would never use it to purchase something.  don't give a crap who advertises with them.  i would not look to support them, not out of spite, but because it is not my MO when it comes to buying online or anywhere else.  you can't change an old fart's MO.

Like Nero Zuckerberg watches the world burn in Italy.  Wonder what it feels like to lose 5 billion.

Is it just me or does theglobe.com come to mind to anybody else except for the opposite. No IPO pop (they learned their lesson from that crap). Now they over price the IPO's for no POP so the insiders and owners can sell off and you have to wait to get in.  Still shady.  Stay far far away from any IPO. No wonder why the USA has such a low amount of IPO's. I personally don't feel like getting in on something that is going to lose 50 percent so the insiders can profit off of me.

FB will hit $100- a new dotcom era is coming. Obama and Ben have saved the planet. A new golden age is about to begin. Gays will soon be able to marry-the age of Aqueeryass is upon us. Ron Paul was wrong  -the alarmists were wrong. Bomb Iran -nuke the Russians and China- Ben can and will print us to prosperity. Goldman Sachs truly is doing God's work- everyone relax. Everything is going to be all right. BTFD.

Zuckie screwed up.  You do the IPO in conjunction with the movie, not over a year later.

Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein said that the financial industry was doing "God's Work." He never said what God they working for, though.
