The Facebook Ardennes: Spot The Syndicate Stick-Save

Tyler Durden's picture

Remember there is no short-selling - only long-adds and long-exits. Syndicate fall back...26.7mm shares at $38.00, 9mm shares at $39.00, and 42mm at $40.00 - leaves a VWAP (or average price at which everyone is in Facebook) at $40.36 (green arrow) with over $10.5b billion traded so far as over 60% of the float has 'turned-over' this morning.

Perhaps the Facebook "underwriters" should step in for "support" due to the "Technical difficulties" of this "stock".

facebook just trending the overall nasdaq index

buy it when it goes back down to $38. It is rigged. underwriters will support the hell out of it. Flip it anything higher than $40.

Come back in June when underwriters are out of the game and buy it less than $38.

Then QE will kick in and FB will rise faster than AAPL. Then sell it before 6 month lock up is over.

If FB would have tanked 38 there would have been one major meltdown - I was shocked to see 39

The whole world is holding their breaths , watching this candle in the wind.

'If it blow out , all morale is lost'

I think Mr Dimon is gleefully waiting for another 'downturn' indicator to take the short-term heat off of JPM. So let's see:

-JPM's announced 'losses'

-Greece's final meltdown exit blowing up headlines every other day

-Europe imploding (thank you for point that out, greece)

-10 year treasury yields closing below 1.80 this week

(oh, let's not forget that wonderful unemployment rate and everything else I forgot to mention)

If Facebook melts today, over the weekend, or next week . . . well. I sense a the Bernank is going to announce the good ship QE 3 launching soon, or we're going to have a real humdinger of a summer. Either way, welcome back to interesting times. As if we ever left them since Lehman.

So, Morgan et al can use green shoe stock to effectively short up to 15% of shares issued (which they undoubtedly have already as noted). After that they can still buy long to support or naked short additional…but on their own dime.

Anyone have an informed opinion of how beefy ~63mm (15% of 421) shares of buying power is given what this thing has traded already?

Would it be even mechanically feasible (in the near term) for someone to try and cram this thing below 38, hoping to spook the syndicate defense at a time when big banks might be a little skittish about risk?

Pushing it below  38 would have to be from long sales I guess. I can't remember where we are with the seasoning period rules but no trades are settled yet and the IPO shares are spread pretty far and wide.

The CIA is not going to like you talking about their little information gathering tool like that. It's very cost effective for people to list all of their activities, relationships, locations, and what they had for breakfast every ten minutes.

Think of the money that saves the CIA?  That alone makes the valuation of 100 billion so worth it, and we taxpayers get to pick up the tab for our own imprisonment!  Now, that's what the America we have all come to know and love is all about.

Come on, load up on some shares and become a bagholder!

we arent talking about the internet, therefore we arent talking about television the invention..

Facebook is like a TV show, like a 1950s TV show, example the Phil Silvers show,... what never heard of it, how could you not, it was very popular back then,..so if it was popular back then how could it not have thrived and survived all these years?

Facebook is but one site, one that does what many other can and will do.  Once its popularity wanes like a tv show, people will move on.

It scares me people dont get that.  Facebook doesnt own a patent for all of social media.
