I recall months ago speculation about the IPO would be that it priced between 12 and 22 somewhere. The day comes and it prices at 38, if you held 20 billion worth of shares when you originally expected to hold less than 10 billion would you also not sell? I think the three top shareholders are the sellers and the underwritters are the buyers. Probably with trillions of shares traded by the algos.

Sometimes I think people forget why the IPO market even exists. If you're not raising cash then you're running for the exits and Facebook never had a problem raising cash before.

I doubt if it is the bid holding it up. Holding firm on the offer at 38 so far. It can't last forever.
Firms that got huge allocations are taking gas and pulling funds from everywhere to make sure it does not go below their allocation price.
$38 is heavily defended. They will try everything to keep it green on the first day.

Actually, I have run ads on them(for our band), and while they do bring in lots of traffic to your website, it is not profitable traffic(lots of A.D.D. surfers). The mentality of facebookers is just
to graze not stay and buy, for the most part. The ads are expensive and are mainly good for getting Likes and Friend Requests. Can't eat that.

No one is getting trade confirmations back, even two hours later. It stinks to high heaven. This is Wall $treet waiting to see the price action. Buyers won't get their trade if the stock rises and will get their trade at the day's high if the stock sinks.
