Farage On The 'Scientology-Like' Cult Of The Euro

Tyler Durden's picture

In an extended discussion with various pro- and con- European Parliamentarians, everyone's favorite (well, most forthright, for sure) British MEP, Nigel Farage, opined on entering the hallowed halls of Europe's Hogwarts-like hub in Brussels that he is surprised:

"After five (soon to be six) nations already bailed out, that so few people inside these institutions are even prepared to contemplate that there might be something wrong with the Euro project"

adding that he feels that:

"he is surrounded by some weird cult - that, even after disaster, continue to believe"

The cult is real, and it's a group of people, whatever one chooses to call them, very few in number, and routinely getting together to play mini-gods and estimate what's best for humanity, on both a collective and individual level, although they're exempt, mostly, from their own decisions.

They meet constantly to judge the state of planet earth and adjust their figures on a sustainable population, resource allocation/distribution and other matters they deem imperative enough to drain their time.

But fret not, because their ability to over-estimate their own influence and power, when it comes to anything as chaotic and entropic as the universe and mankind can't possibly be overstated.

Anyone who denies that there's a very tiny elite who regularly meat to beat can't possibly be attuned to reality, very observant, very intelligent, or a combination of all three.

It's literally the worst open secret given so many slips of the tongue and an inability on their part to even come up with a plan to meet that's creative enough to not be discovered.

Farage's comparison between the Church of Eurology and the Scientologists isn't as facile as you might first think.

Did you know that there are 97 Jean Monnet Centres worldwide, indoctrinating young people with the Eurologist's dogma ?

Anyway as a side issue, I'd recommend this article, 'The Dichotomy of our Times'

TruthInSunshine, I get spooked by it all.  its all right there in the open, clear to see, each of those pro Euro Weenies was talking about "hope" and use words like "firewall". For god's sake they can't even use appropriate terms, there is no fire and there is no wall, its a problem of debt and corruption.  Good post by the way, I felt compelled to respond.

It used to seem bizarre to me, but in reality, it's always gone on, even if it was on a more parochial or local basis in past times.

With technological advancement, it's easier for them to communicate, meet and expand the scale of the geography they wish to essentially control through their 'gift' of benevolent planning to the entire planet.

These type of people used to be referred to as despots, and their motives were invariably presumed to be evil. Today, many of them are referred to as philanthropists, and many are bestowed near-saint status by a fawning media (which they control, coincidentally; as in via direct funding), and their intentions are presumed to be consistent with "the good of mankind." They're selfless and charitable heroes, even if they rarely openly discuss anything that approximates specifics.

In their world, it's not only necessary, but their moral duty to....oh, as just a few examples.... inform a particular people that are allegedly sovereign that they only have the 'right' to have one child (they'll even impose sterilization if their goal by the numbers doesn't materialize via voluntary compliance), decide which parts of the world should (for whatever unknown reasons) have high rates of inflation (aka debasement of living standards) imposed on their citizenty, or to measure and weigh the pros and cons of any given destructive war, and decide whether to green-light it based on their very serious & precise assessment of whether its consequences will ultimately 'add up' to a net gain or loss for humanity based on their virtuous goals.

There's something to be said for allowing liberty and acknowledging a genrous heaping of individual rights on individuals, even though history gets quite messy at times (a rational and compelling argument can be put forth that suppressing such liberty and individual rights leads to inevitably "messier" outcomes).

The road to hell is paved with good intentions (even assuming many or most of their intentions are even "good" in the first place).

The euro was a nice idea. It is certainly very convenient for travelers to not have to change money every time you cross a border. But it is a convenience, not something that revolutionizes society like the automobile.

The essential precondition for having a common currency is to have a general, well understood agreement among the countries as to how the currency will be managed. And this is totally absent in the case of the euro. So the sensible thing would be to dissolve the euro. But somehow people have the idea that this would be a disaster when actually it wouldn't be such a big deal.

I think the news media and politicians continually propagate the idea that abandoning the euro would be a huge disaster because the bankers (who ultimately control most of the news outlets and politicians) like having a single common currency. It is easier to control one currency than a dozen+ currencies.

One currency to rule them all. Kind of funny how lots of euro coins have a kind of outer ring surrounding an inner map of Europe.

I don't get this whole "euro has failed" meme. The euro has done exactly what was intended - it provides a convenient, stable currency accross the Eurozone, versus the other national currencies like the lira, which Italy managed by dropping three zeroes every ten years or so. What amazes me, is that the Mediterannean Europeans thought they could adopt a hard currency, and still retain political traditions that could only function with constant devaluation.

So, the southern europeans wanted a currency that didn't devalue, and they got it. The only lesson, is to be careful what you wish for.

the netherlands chick said it best --she gave away the big lie-----"the trouble is you will end up with your own coin and a big debt in euros" .

NO , this is not the trouble . the trouble is that you will end up with your own coin and you will not pay off your debt to the other european countries. you see, this is precisely how world war I led to world war II.

there was a renegotiation of german war debt to the rest of the league of nation allies in the 1920's a bit after the germany hyperinflation of the early 20's. but the rest of europe didn't realize that this negotiation was too little too late. they had pushed the population of germany into such harsh poverty ( by the time unemployment went down in the 30's real wages were less than half---so the idea of working poverty was grindingly harsh compared to past expectations and actual suffering and hunger were far higher as germany relied on food imports  ) .

and so germany nationalized elected hitler and told europe to take the war debt and shove it into the next war's asshole. and if not for the soviet threat, west germany would have been saddled with a crushing amount of unpayable debt as it was after wwi. to the victors go the spoils. that is how it was and that is how it will be again.

After the next big false flag attack on the u.s. ---the cia will organize a MASSIVE cyber attack that shuts down wall street and scalps huge amounts of penion money into the hands of a few orgnaizations in on the fraud, and the devalution of the dollar will occur either shortly before or after this attack ( within half a year ) . ----after this , when the next big war begins most likely against iran, you will see that to the victor go the spoils.

don't forget you are in a hostage relationship to the empire. you either go along and support the drive for victory, or as an individual you will deal with the consequences of your government losing or botching the next big war.

or you move to the mountains and just hope to live your free life.

The pension money, like the DoD money on 9/11, has probably already been stolen.  A false flag event, like 9/11, an EMP or a cyber attack, would cover up the theft nicely and the perps could get away with the loot like 9/11.  If 9/11 netted $5 trillion, incl. DoD missing money, the next ff event, thanks to inflation and geometric progressions, should be good for $50 trillion at least.

the UK is not even a part of the Eurozone, but it seems to be as much in debt and trouble. There is a cult of the people thinking that being able to print fiat currency is a solution to all the financial problems, and Farage and Bernanke are this cults members. The euro is the same thing as the dollar and the pound, a paper with a promise written on it. The politicians everywhere are mostly interested in keeping things going as they are for as long as they live, because living is easier when you get a high salary and all the expenses paid.

in short, fuck off Farage and sell your cult of fiat currency somewhere else.

By "liberalism", do you mean the American socialists that like to refer to themselves as liberals, or fascist progressives that like to call themselves liberals, or the classical liberals, who in the USA now must call themselves libertarians, to avoid confusion?

Maybe the Euro was unnecessary !  First they should have eliminated all restrictions on money exchanging ! Let individuals engage in it without a license .... lower the costs .... problem solved .... competition is good !     Let people have multiple currencies in their bank accounts .... the market place could have solved this ! Legalize gold and silver in all it's forms ! Freedom will find the most efficient way .... always does !

The real problem is at the end of the interview: Where do you think we'll be in 12 months?  I hope we'll be..., I hope we'll be, I hope we'll be....cut....can you please tell me where you **think** we'll be rather than where you **hope** we'll be?  I hope, I hope, I hope.... wtf?  Nigel is right! It is a cult -- a cult of starry-eyed dreamers filled with completely unrealistic hope that somehow Greece and Spain will be able to swim with a boat anchor tied to their feet.  It's nothing more than invincible ignorance, willful blindness even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Let's pretend that Nigel Farage is not part of some 'controlled opposition', meant to make the numpties believe that there is someon agitating for change from within the manifold layers of bullisht-artists in Brussels. Let's pretend that for a second, and play Devil's (or Devils' - for they are plural) Advocate.

Well, in that case, Nigel Farage is as naïve as an unmolested 12 year old Catholic schoolgirl {I say schoolgirl because in (child ? Catholic), Pr(unmolested|girl) >> Pr(unmolested|boy) }.

If Nigel Farage has ian IQ above 'educable' (85-ish) and an internet connection, he should have come across the following Upton Sinclair aphorism by now:

It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his job depends on not understanding it.

So on that basis alone, the very idea that any of the vast numbers of tax-parasites in Brussels would admit that their gravy train is not fulfilling its aim, is ex ante ludicrous.

And that assumes that they think (or worse, that Farage thinks)  that the actual objective of the new layer of "new unhappy lords" is the same as the publicly stated (propaganda) objective - which it absolutely is not. And if Farage thinks that, then Pr(Farage's IQ>85) =0.

The aim of States (and the EU is an attempted super-State that harks back to the Pan-Europa designs of Henri Plantard de St Clair from the 1940's proto-fascists) is, always and everywhere, to funnel productivity upwards to a coterie of parasites and their symbiotes. That is why we have war; that is why we have taxation; that is why we have nationalism inculcated in school-children by idiotic repetition of national mantras (just as we used to have religion inculcated in the same plastic minds by the mechanism of rote-repetition of religious drivel).

Farage makes no bones about pocketing a six-figure quantity of taxpayers' money - plus benefits, plus first-clas travel, plus plus plus. So fuck him.

Oh, and one final point... did I fucking nail the "long euro" call (at 1.2172) the other night (and long Gold at 1563) or fucking what? See and be aware that the post time is AEST (TZ=Australia/Sydney)

imo the euro is just the distraction. the real culprit is the default by sovereigns and derivatives bets triggerred by the default. hat off to the combined IQ of the panel.

After having listened to the whole debate here is my humble conclusion:

to Graaf Landsberg and Sir Nigel Farrage - intelectual dishonesty is economic plundering of the Central Europe resulting in mass displacement of the natives many too primitive for western world and turning blind eye to the totalitarian rule of the present regimes in the region

Ever since The Enlightenment Europe has been searching for some Secular Cult of Reason to make Man the Ultimate Arbiter of Fate. It has taken on Judaic Millenniallism in the form of Socialism, Communism, Marxism in its Original, Gramscian and Liberal forms using Pan-European Communitarianism as a figleaf akin to Popular Front Governments in the 1930s as Communist Front Governments. It is the refuge of the Atheist - to found a New Religion of The Senses and demand total obedience.

The US cannot quite get the total monopoly so Scientology and other Cults run around the supermarket trying to get converts without being able to fill all the shelves with their product. In Europe the power of The State and State Media allows them to displace other views from the shelves and achieve Totalitarianism.

This is Fanaticism and it is a Death Cult. European voters are simply too stupefied to engage in direct action to remove the Crackpots. It is as if an alien Overlord Class has seized control and is feeding the first-born to Moloch

it's fun to read and listen to people that try hard, and of course uselessly, to change the direction of the stream of the big river of history.

euro, EU are here to stay. no matter the attacks, ideological or financial. and the political union will come with its heavy weight in the world scene. "divide and conquer" will vanish no matter the last attempts to make it rule with a huge campaign of constant media and financial attacks from the anglosaxon world.

I have nothing against anglosaxon people, quite the contrary, they are part of europe or they are an offspring of european culture. great contribution. I think the future european federation and its renewed role in the world scene will be beneficial also to them.

europe is europe, I don't have to explain our contribution to the world. it's time we take our responsabilities to try and shape, with our influence, a better world, noblesse oblige.

p.s. farage should focus on convincing his own fellow countrymen to abandon the EU. noone will stop them.

Equity rally can resume as overbought USDX daily & weekly chart commences overdue retracement while EURUSD selling ceases for now. This results in SPX / DOW choppy weekly charts reverting to neutral.

The following remains a constant and won't change:

* USDX monthly indicators [ie big picture] continue to warn of significant long term USD upside. (thus EURUSD & AUDUSD etc bearish)
* SPX monthly indicators [ie big picture] continue to warn of significant long term downside for equities which will be worse than 2008.
