As Fed Comes To Twitter Will US Debt Be Limited To 140 Zeroes?

Tyler Durden's picture

As of this morning the Federal Reserve is officially on twitter and can be followed at @federalreserve. This is truly great news as it means that the US debt will have to be limited to at most 140 zeroes! Then again, after yesterday who cares about the Fed?Where is uber-boss Jamie Dimon's twitter account?

From the Fed

For immediate release

The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday launched its official Twitter channel--@federalreserve Leaving the Board--with the aim of increasing the accessibility and availability of Federal Reserve Board news.

The Board’s website, www.federalreserve.gov, will remain its primary channel of communication. Selected announcements will be tweeted after they are first posted on the website.

To start, tweets will include items such as press releases, speeches, testimony, reports to the Congress, the Monthly Report on Credit and Liquidity Programs and the Balance Sheet, and the Federal Reserve’s weekly balance sheet (H.4.1). Additionally, the Board will tweet about educational frequently asked questions (FAQs) and Board video links.

This is a move in the right direction. The Federal Reserve Bank needs to start reaching out and connecting with the younger generation. At present, the internet is dominated by die-hard libertarians who relentlessly criticize the Federal Reserve, the US government, Israel and pretty much any respected high ranking official. This is absolutely unacceptable. Young net surfers need to hear BOTH sides of the story.

Kids: Contrary to what many libertarians will tell you, not everything is a conspiracy and there are many hard working officials who deserve to be in positions of power because the American public have discerned through scientific, objective scrutiny that they are the best people for the job.

Contrary to what you're saying, everything is a conspiracy for which there's documented evidence of conspiracy. That means colluding to control currency supply, to control interest rates, to send bailout money to various banks while harming the populace forced to use the currency of the bailout - all documented, all conspiracy fact. Not theory. Fact.

Not one second, not one iota of effort has ever gone into any scientific or objective scrutiny for the banks, for the Federal Reserve or these "officials" like Geithner, Bernanke, Paulson or Greenspan. It's been fraud & lies 99% of the time, all very well documented.

Follow buttons around the world are clicking today because the most closely watched central bankers in the world just joined the Twitterverse. The Associated Press reports that the Federal Reserve has strapped on its social networking wings in order to better communicate what it is doing to the public. The organization recently unveiled its official Twitter channel, @federalreserve. While not necessarily humorous or philosophically insightful, Fed tweets will without doubt serve to educate the general public as to what is happening with rates of interest, currency and other internal workings of the organization. This is just so the Fed can tweet how many shares of Apple each bank should buy.

Apple is showing every bubble sign. Retail investors who hold shares are now to scared to sell because they will miss out on more profit. They see the stock rising 10% in one week and can't push the sell buton because they think they can make another 10% next week.

My exponential call on Apple last month is going pretty well. 2 months to go from $400-$500, one month to go from $500-$600. From what it looks like Apple wll hit $700 by the end of March. $800 by the end of April's first week. Then $100 increments every day. Cisco Squared, welcome back to 1999.

just a thought ~ is the the BUYBACK portion of the JPM pre emptive (err maybe co-ordinated) statement last night, and now STATE STREET BUYBACK - is this because the top management plan to divest (read DUMP) their holdings and a buyback is needed to disguise this process???

If so, this is less than bullish!
