As Fed Comes To Twitter Will US Debt Be Limited To 140 Zeroes?
As of this morning the Federal Reserve is officially on twitter and can be followed at @federalreserve. This is truly great news as it means that the US debt will have to be limited to at most 140 zeroes! Then again, after yesterday who cares about the Fed?Where is uber-boss Jamie Dimon's twitter account?
For immediate release
The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday launched its official Twitter channel--@federalreserve Leaving the Board--with the aim of increasing the accessibility and availability of Federal Reserve Board news.
The Board’s website, www.federalreserve.gov, will remain its primary channel of communication. Selected announcements will be tweeted after they are first posted on the website.
To start, tweets will include items such as press releases, speeches, testimony, reports to the Congress, the Monthly Report on Credit and Liquidity Programs and the Balance Sheet, and the Federal Reserve’s weekly balance sheet (H.4.1). Additionally, the Board will tweet about educational frequently asked questions (FAQs) and Board video links.

Wrong. With exponentiaton you can express huge numbers with 3 characters. But one can always hope...
139 zero's max
A direct twitter pissing contest with The Bernank, Dudster or Brian Sack(of shit), themselves?

I am proud to say that I am the 2,257th follower of the Fed. So what's my prize?
This is a move in the right direction. The Federal Reserve Bank needs to start reaching out and connecting with the younger generation. At present, the internet is dominated by die-hard libertarians who relentlessly criticize the Federal Reserve, the US government, Israel and pretty much any respected high ranking official. This is absolutely unacceptable. Young net surfers need to hear BOTH sides of the story.
Kids: Contrary to what many libertarians will tell you, not everything is a conspiracy and there are many hard working officials who deserve to be in positions of power because the American public have discerned through scientific, objective scrutiny that they are the best people for the job.

base 64 will get them a lot higher...if they're clever they can start using symbols, get to base 82 easy
Contrary to what you're saying, everything is a conspiracy for which there's documented evidence of conspiracy. That means colluding to control currency supply, to control interest rates, to send bailout money to various banks while harming the populace forced to use the currency of the bailout - all documented, all conspiracy fact. Not theory. Fact.
Not one second, not one iota of effort has ever gone into any scientific or objective scrutiny for the banks, for the Federal Reserve or these "officials" like Geithner, Bernanke, Paulson or Greenspan. It's been fraud & lies 99% of the time, all very well documented.
since i'm not a twit and dont tweet, unfamiliar with its limits, is it possible to bury the fed with meaningless tweets of 'our'own?
Follow buttons around the world are clicking today because the most closely watched central bankers in the world just joined the Twitterverse. The Associated Press reports that the Federal Reserve has strapped on its social networking wings in order to better communicate what it is doing to the public. The organization recently unveiled its official Twitter channel, @federalreserve. While not necessarily humorous or philosophically insightful, Fed tweets will without doubt serve to educate the general public as to what is happening with rates of interest, currency and other internal workings of the organization. I think there's more zero's working at the FED than 139.... we're just lucky only 139 got access to twitter...
There's smoke coming out of your bag of silver
i believe twitter needs to add LaTex functionality specifically for the Fed, ZH should follow the suit.
Today's monetary weather:
M3 circa 10^(((10^10)^10)^10)
Inflation circa 10^(10^10)
Moderate shitstorms and shit blizzards across the board.
139 zeroes... Hopefully it will be a long time before the Bernanke discovers the "9" key.
Nope, 999 with 137 zeros behind it

140 characters means the number is practically unlimited.

The symbol for infinity doesn't even require exponential notation. It's only a single character.

#alchemy!
I will begin posting Die commie....
Bernanke just twittered: "We're printing today, we'll be printing tomorrow"
NOW THAT'S A STATUS UPDATE WE CARE TO READ!
I can't wait to read up on their next Quantative Tweets (QT's in short)!
And so finally the fed watching crowd will have somthing to analyze between the meetings...
It's 'Crazy Ben's Print Shop'
He's the Wiz! And he's gone mad, printing 24/7/365, to infinity and beyond!
So if you're a Primary Dealer or even a lesser grade but still best friend forever of the FRBNY, come on down to The Bernank's EZ Cash Shoppe, and get your palletes of nearly free, all you can speculate with, Federal Reserve Note play money!
And remember, you can back up the truck every day at The Bernank's House of Fiat!
33 Liberty Street. Ask for Brian Sack or Bill Dudley.
To bad they only print money :(
I wanted to reorder a toiletpaper roll from their "Bill of Rights" series.... and they said there was only one...
to bad.... my ass liked the feeling of that parchment kind of paper...

When is the Charter up?
2013.
That's some time after the end of the world Mayan style...(yes, I know!)

There is no 'time' component to their charter.
The Federal Reserve can only be disbanded by revocation of the Federal Reserve Act by Congress.

Why should that piece of paper get any more respect than the now-downtrodden Constitution? Defenestrate the Fed and lock its participants up in Gitmo as terrorists. The unconstitutional milieu they helped create can swiftly turn against them.
I know, i just tweeted them the question...........lets see if they answer
now send them 900000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
more questions....
block them
Wow...they take questions? Let's ask them for the best location to exchange our FRN's for United States Noes per 12 USC 411.
RESPONSE: Yes, we like to lick the frosting off dognuts and porn in the morning to.
I hadn't seen this before. Does "lawful money" aside from FRNs exist in the US? I know there were silver certificates for a while, but is there any alternative "real" currency now?
The closest to a credible dollar you guys have on your continent are "Looney Dollars"... GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

This is being done to prevent "miscommunications" between itself and member banks. Now, information can be leaked directly to the population at large, no need for intermediaries.
oh man, this is beyond me, color me....
Wait, according to Moore's law in computers everything doubles every 18 months. Way to go here.
how humanlike of them to do so....
Great...now we can access propaganda and misdirection as it happens in real time !!
Kudos to our benevolent money masters !!

@federalreserve
QE is quaint, if you have anything new please let me know..
This is just so the Fed can tweet how many shares of Apple each bank should buy.
Apple is showing every bubble sign. Retail investors who hold shares are now to scared to sell because they will miss out on more profit. They see the stock rising 10% in one week and can't push the sell buton because they think they can make another 10% next week.
My exponential call on Apple last month is going pretty well. 2 months to go from $400-$500, one month to go from $500-$600. From what it looks like Apple wll hit $700 by the end of March. $800 by the end of April's first week. Then $100 increments every day. Cisco Squared, welcome back to 1999.
Scientific notation as well as exponential notation allow many more zeros than one could imagine. The fed will never limit itself to 140 zeros.

tyler,
just a thought ~ is the the BUYBACK portion of the JPM pre emptive (err maybe co-ordinated) statement last night, and now STATE STREET BUYBACK - is this because the top management plan to divest (read DUMP) their holdings and a buyback is needed to disguise this process???
If so, this is less than bullish!
Okay 140 zeroes, but what number base?
Going full retard @federalreserve today with diversity training seminar
Cue the "CTRL-V" tweet jokes
BTW, rumor has it that the next annoucement will be that the Federal Reserve has acknowledged that man landed on the moon.
