Find Out If Your Apple Device Was Among The 12 Million Units Hacked And Tracked By The FBI
Several hours ago, the latest hacker group to gain prominence, AntiSec, a subset of Anonymous, disclosed that it had obtained the confidential user data contained in some some 12 million Apple units after hacking an FBI Dell Vostro notebook computer, "used by Supervisor Special Agent Christopher K. Stangl from FBI Regional Cyber Action Team and New York FBI Office Evidence Response Team was breached using the AtomicReferenceArray vulnerability on Java" which contined a file titled NCFTA_iOS_devices_intel.csv, which "turned to be a list of 12,367,232 Apple iOS devices including Unique Device Identifiers (UDID), user names, name of device, type of device, Apple Push Notification Service tokens, zipcodes, cellphone numbers, addresses, etc. the personal details fields referring to people appears many times empty leaving the whole list incompleted on many parts." In other words, the FBI had the personal data of a substantial number of Apple device users, certainly all of which had been obtained without prior permission. Naturally the question here is why on earth does the FBI have this data, and as TNW suggests, "They published the UDID numbers to call attention to suspicions that the FBI used the information to track citizens. Much of the personal data has been trimmed, however, with the hackers claiming to have left enough for “a significant amount of users” to search for their devices." AntiSec has subsequently released one million of these UUIDs and their associated data. Find out if your device is on the list as explained below.
First, courtesy of WhatsmyUDID.com, here is a simple process to find out what the specific number is.
And then, with UDID in hand, go here:
Or, for those who are uncomfortable using the internet for uplink purposes, can use the following instructions on how to download the full list, via Anonymous:

"So these fuckers can track my Iphone, but they can't put Jon Corzine in jail?!"
The FBI *wants* to track *your* iPhone.
They *don't want* to track Jon Corzine's activities.
There is more money in keeping *you* from finding out where Corzine is.
"So these fuckers can track my Iphone, but they can't put Jon Corzine in jail?!"
It's not so much that they can't...it's really more that they were told not to.
As I used to tell my kid-------can't means won't.
Any headline containing Apple is bullish for the stock. The absolute insanity of adding $100 in one month after an earnings miss is unfathomable.Apple is one or two days away from $700 a share. Sept 15th better not disappoint. The iPhone5 had better be able to solve the funding problems of Europe and land 60 million Americans full time $60k a year jobs. Anything less is a disappointment.
So who stepped in at 11:00 AM today to buy up the market? The PPT is getting old at this point.

I know for a fact I am not on that list.....Since there is ample warning to the masses that stuff on the internet is not safe, I dont see how this is an issue. There is an expectation that if you have FB/Tweet/iTunes/ebay account, they have your life story. If you are too naive to know this, well, suck it.
Just an F.Y.I. Apple applied for a patent that allows them to turn off the camera in certain locations......wouldn't want to catch any videos of the police beating up protestors.
That's one side of the coin. It's the other side that worries me the most. The fact that they can turn ON the camera/mic at will.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT take any gadget with you during your "boating accidents".
What about the Drone Jammer?
Hmmm this is strange. Are THEY afraid of something?
had a friend on vaca in CO. Someone in their party took a pic of another. Within minutes his phone was disabled & LO swooped in to arrest an alleged fugitive.

ok, I just pasted my UDID into the form linked to in the article, which in turn gives my UDID to a guy named sean

I did not make that up.
I'm sure he's employed by the FBI or whoever.
They only had 12 million APPL UUID's....they want the ones they missed ;)
And yet, this comes as a complete surprise to some.
Which in turn should not come as a surprise to any of us.
So your (UDID) shows up on the list. Then what? Quik everyone , run out and get in line for your !phone5. /sarc
Was this article approved by Apple? ;-)
This is your Government. This is your Government on drugs. We are going to disappear you if you don't stop us first.
Any government or financial device connected to the Internet or wireless can be hacked. You would think that they might wanna hold off commiting crimes and sending up drones until they have that little snag fixed.
Oh well live and learn.
Sorry, but what's an "Apple device"?

Is this why Facebook's shareprice is tanking?

That would require the masses to be awake, instead of posting on their facebook pages with a tag saying "Sent from my Iphone."
I have never traded stocks but even I can see that Facebook's tanking has nothing to do with public sentiment...
Since 1996 backdoors have been built into cell phones and most other electronic devices. If "Anonymous" is a real organization it exists only because the demons in WDC want them to exist.
Tuco
I though "anonymous" was the NSA.
Tracking since around 1985 - 86
I do wonder if they aren't just controlled opposition. Seems to me they easily get away with a helluva lot, and even the ones caught so far (that I know of) easily made bail. Seems like just more conditioning, and if it wasn't planned that way, TPTB have decided to just look the other way and consider it such.
I am waiting to buy the Facebook Phone. Then I can be tracked by a proper Intelligence Agency. FBI pussies.
They can even get your camera if it has a gps buit in. And your car, and ,and, and
Well well ZHers,
These fucking incompitant fuckers are watching us now eh? Just like New yorks finest shooters then? Go and give me a fucking break boys and girls. These stupid, incompetant, fat fucking imbeciles are what we have to watch out for? Fuck off and talk sense. I would be more afraid of my 15 year old daugther than any single one of the fuckwits opperating any system in any country anywhere. Especially in the USA or England. Grow up and get a set of balls. These trully fucking daft cunts couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery, and trust me, I deal with these clowns on a daily basis. You have nothing to fear folks. Just laugh the fuckers off.
And by the way NSA, GCHQ, TSA, Border control, etc etc. Fuck off fat imbecilic cunts. Come get some then???? Clowns.
You've succumbed to the perception management. This is all a distraction. The media's job here is to convince you that the worst thing the FBI is doing is collecting personal data from iToys, that the FBI is staffed by incompotent clowns who couldn't victimize you if they tried, that even though the government is not 100% benevolent, its malice is harmless; whose purposes does this serve? Go back to sleep, sheep.
Toten,
I live in Britain, and we are farther down the road than you fuckers, as no one here gives a fuck. That in and of itself a massive problem for the big men in charge. They think we are all as stupid as you Amerikans. We unfortunatley mate are not. And that will be their biggest mistake. Us Brits may be one thing, but stupid, soft inthe head and weak, we are not.
You should see me and my mates for that definition of we will fight back. Not all men are equal, and not all men are weak.
My points are valid, I know I work with them. They are almost ready for the fucking fright of their lives friend.
Good luck, we will all need it. But do not talk up the big men, they know not what of they do, they are more dumb than cattle for the most part. When this comes down, I really believe we will sort the wheat from the chaff. Time is still, on our side.
Ooooooh, a down arrow?
Come on then mr NSA man, refute my points. Tell me what I may have missed, because you lot are so big and disorganised I could run rings round ten of you. You don't know where your arse is in relation to your elbow thanks to 'oversight'. Bunch of dumb fucking yes men is all you are. Come knock on my door then?
Fucking imbeciles. I will go to my grave having the displeasure of working for my countries finest. I said it once, and it must be said again. If you lot of stupid cunts were asked to organise a piss up in a brewery, it could never happen. You wouldn't have a fucking clue where to start, because your boss is even fucking stupider than you.
You daft fucking clowns. A royal piss take boys, thats all you lot are. Hahahahaha
;-)
O.K., for those of you who have an Apple device, trade it with someone with the identical model not related to you.
Considering that the average iPhone is used for twelve months or less by the original buyer how useful is that kind of information anyway?
FBI not thinking very clearly, besides acting like the Nazi SS or the KGB.
How much of this story smells like bullshit to everyone here?
So, FBI just pulled 12 million device IDs and associated personally-identifiable information out of the ether? Occam's Razor says Apple provided it. What the carrot and stick were in that transaction, one can only guess.
And Special Agent Christopher K. Stangl, a cybersecurity expert from the FBI Regional Cyber Action Team and New York FBI Office Evidence Response Team (http://thenextweb.com/apple/2012/09/04/antisec-hackers-leak-1000001-apple-device-ids-allegedly-obtained-fbi-breach) has all this data on a laptop in an unsecured environment.
And it was dumbass luck that Antisec targeted this person or this machine, sucked down all the files and found the list.
It was part of the user agreement. You basically agreed to not sue Apple in the event that they knowingly provide information to any government official. Good luck trying to bring a suit before a government employee (a judge).
Apple, comeuppance is a bitch. I feel no guilt jail breaking any of your devices.
AAPL has already came out & said this is a phishing scam. Even if it were not & you plug ur UDID in, your naked either way.
Yeah, first tip was the unsecured site. Bet that arsehole at Forbes feels like a fool. She's a sucka.
Agreed. See my comment way further down. It's a TRAP.
Isn't it a shame you can't take a photo of the police officer beating a man in the street because your oppressive government remotely disabled your smartphone camera?
http://www.zdnet.com/apple-patent-could-remotely-disable-protesters-phon...
Yep, law enforcement, do-gooders, jackbooted thugs can now shut off your Apple camera.
no thanks

Abolish the FBI.
Abolish government, and anyone who even talks like they have any say over what you do.
If your device is on the list please send it to me and I will resell it on the streets of Kabul. That should put the cat amongst the pigeons.
Apple and the FBI probably cooperated on obtaining the user information, just a hunch.
Really out on a limb with that one eh!

And one more thing. All you apple users.
The iphone 5 has a new docking port, or so I'm told. Now you have to replace every fucking daft toy you bought to use it.
Talk about fucking irony. A fool and his money are so easily parted. Or so I am told.

That's why Samsung has ordered by court to pay $1 billion to Apple.
Don't like Romney? Blame Obama!
Everyone seems to have forgotten about Bradley Birkenfeld, one of the first whistleblowers the Obama administration successfully prosecuted into jail and out of the public limelight!
What was the very first thing the Obama administration did upon winning the White House? They went after the enemies of Bush and Cheney, that's right, they continued and redoubled the efforts of the Bush administration against the whistleblowers from that administration.
Most were government workers, for instance, honest and ethical Americans at the EPA, FDA, DoD, etc., but one, Bradley Birkenfeld, was not. Bradley came from the UBS bank in Switzerland, armed with a list of super-rich American tax dodgers, the list which would have ended the political career of Willard Mitt Romney, but the Obama administration prosecuted Bradley into jail.
So what became of that list of super-rich tax dodgers?
Good question, but we know what became of Mitt Romney!
The only reason, the one and only reason, Romney was able to run and win the republicon party's presidential candidacy is Barack Obama. (A court recently found in favor of one of those female whistleblowers, Dr. Cate Jenkins of the EPA, who had some scathing words for rightwinger lowlife, Obama.)
The NARAL Pro-Choice America candidate, Nancy Keenan, claims that President Obama is pro-workers' rights, pro-union, pro-women, and blah, blah, blah --- a bunch of female teachers in Chicago, female whistleblowers in the government, and otherwise sane American women might just disagree with that opinion!
Now the reality: President Obama strenuously supports the privatization of education in America, with its subsequent destruction of the teachers' unions. It was President Obama, after all, who went on national television to applaud the decision of the Chicago Public Schools superintendant for firing all the teachers at an inner city high school, supposedly due to the mediocre performance of a few there!
All the teachers were fired due to the so-called performance of a few?
That's pro-workers' rights? That's pro-women? That's pro-union?
Now the reality: That Chicago school was specifically targeted for privatization, as are the Chicago schools in general. (Fortunately an honest judge overturned that wrongful termination that Obama so supported and reinstated those teachers --- no thanks to the Obama administration!)
Now the reality: We've seen little effort from congress or the Obama administration in the passage of "card check" legislation, according workers protection to organize in the workplace should they so desire.
Yes, Nancy Pelosi, when she first became House Speaker, did push for legislation ending those corporate tax breaks for offshoring American jobs (legislation first proposed by President Kennedy in 1960), but quickly backed down when republicans threatened to filibuster it --- those phony dems weren't willing to battle on behalf of the public --- their supposed constituents!
Now the reality: The Obama administration has strenuously litigated in favor of Bush administration people's immunity from prosecution for torture and war crimes; immunity for telecoms for warrantless wiretapping; immunity for banksters in fraudclosures, when they committed millions of felonies in filing false affidavits, called robo-signing; immunity for BP from their wanton dereliction in the destruction of the Gulf; preemptive arrests of activist-organizers throughout the country to sabotage present and future protests; the persecution of Pfc. Bradley Manning for allegedly revealing war atrocities and the multinationals' control over the State Department, and on and on and on, somehow completely ignoring the contrived witch hunt against the honorable Gov. Don Siegelman.
If Obama's a democrat --- I'm Jeremiah Bullfrog!
The only thing worse than the Obama/Biden ticket is the Romney/Ryan ticket --- the same line we heard in 1964 in favor of Lyndon Johnson over Barry Goldwater; Johnson would later go on to do everything Goldwater promised to do --- wage war, end the financial transaction tax, send arms and military aid to overthrow the demcratically-elected government of Brazil and occupy the Dominican Republic with US military, then dramatically increase the number of military in Vietnam --- from a paltry 16,792 --- which President Kennedy was planning to withdraw before the 1964 election, to 500,000 in a relatively short time.
With the Clintons we got NAFTA, GATT, China into the WTO, the Telecommunications Act of 1996 for the final consolidation of corporate media and the reconsolidation of AT&T; the overturning of Glass-Steagall with his signing of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act along with the deregulation of credit derivatives by signing the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, leading to the global economic meltdown; total immunity from the US Constitution for intelligence personnel with by his signing of the Intelligence Authorization Act, and the overturning of the tuna industry boycott, allowing for the resumption of wholesale slaughter of dolphins!
With Obama we not only have a 100% neocon administration, but the reappointment of the author of that Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Neal Wolin, as well as Bush inner circle types like Marc Grossman and Victoria Nuland. (Victoria Nuland, spokesperson for the State Department, recently claimed that WikiLeaks' Julian Assange was making "wild assertions" about the US government's intentions towards him --- forgive me for not trusting a Bushie now with Obama.)
Although Obama has yet to appoint Cheney to his administration, he has appointed those consultants who once worked for Poindexter and Cheney on their Total Information Awareness project, and former members of Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's administration.
Obama reappointed FBI director Robert Mueller, first appointed by George H.W. Bush to head the DOJ's criminal division during the BCCI investigation, then later reappointed by George W. Bush to the directorship of the FBI, four days prior to 9/11/01.
We forget the reason why the 2000 election between Al Gore and George W. Bush was so close --- there was little difference between the two presidential candidates, precisely the same reason Obama and Romney are tracking so close together.
I am nostalgic for the days when J. Edgar Hoover led the FBI. He was a militant defender of the Constitution and The Bill of Rights in comparison to the recent elite political class and their masters.
why wonder so much?? :D
From time to time, they are all simply the RED TEAM vs BLUE TEAM to give an impression of change. In reality all are serving the SAME paramount bosses, the financial cabals, tho their handlers and reporting channels are different!

... that used to be a federal crime.
Pretty sure it still is. Laws don't apply to them. And apparently not to Apple, or any other major corporation. It won't be long before governments contract military functions out to corporations (I mean, big time, more than they have already) and even give them neutron bombs and the like.
I think that FISA retroactively gave immunity to all the telecoms that had listening devices on their backbones.
I am sure that all the big names in hardware and software were in there as well.

Yes, FISA did that. One more reason I had no doubt this stuff was routine, and would become routine for those not already doing it before.
Not FISA, it was the Protect America Act. This act loosened up the FISA courts and had retro immunity for the kings criminals friends.

Seriously, if you are shocked by this revelation of a shiatty little list of UDID numbers showing up on an FBI hack's computer, you really, and quite literally, probably cannot handle the truth about just how tracked and dissected you really are.

The NSA knows more about you than you do. They have seriously-super computer farms running software that parses every sentence looking for "keywords" in most languages plus VOICE recognition capability. They also know everywhere you have been using your phone's GPS position.
Couple that with the estimated three Federal felonies that each citizen unknowingly daily.
But, hey, don't worry. Be happy. You can trust your government and the judicial system. Right?

I guess I should point out, belatedly, that only Nokia's N9 and N900 phones were fully open. All the rest are closed platforms. You have absolutely no idea what backdoors they may have or what information they are communicating back to home base. But hey that's your problem.
If we did not have these freedom fighters uncovering the tentacles of the tyrants we would all be marching closer to the iron gates of a police state. And that is why Julian Assange, who represents the ultimate whistleblower in revealing to the public the wrongdoings of those who have seized authority, deserves the support of patriots. He has been unafraid to take on the world’s despotic rulers.
Assange is being targeted so that other whistleblowers will be afraid. Perhaps Ronald Reagan was saying more than even he realized at the time:
“Evil has no power if the good are unafraid.”
great comments amazing how Mr Transparancy is just as bad as the rest... notice how civilians dying in Yemen drone strike are hushed and back paged. It is all coming here if we do not act decisively every way we can.
Seed money for Wikileaks came from fellow patriot George Soros. Don't believe anything you hear and half of what you see.
http://itmakessenseblog.com/2010/12/05/george-soros-is-the-money-behind-wikileaks/
Tuco
Doesn't mean wikileaks isn't/wasn't real. Remember how Soros makes his money.
Agree with:
Don't believe anything you hear and half of what you see.
But, Tuco, that’s the same site that yesterday ran a pro-Israel article, "Dirty, Dirty, Dirty – U.S. Tells Iran: We Won’t Join Israeli Attack." It also currently features “Top Ten Reasons To Like Mitt Romney.”
According to an article in the WSJ on August 23, 2010:
“The linchpin of WikiLeaks's financial network is Germany's Wau Holland Foundation. WikiLeaks encourages donors to contribute to its account at the foundation, which under German law can't publicly disclose the names of donors…"It continues, “So far, Wau Holland has distributed €50,000 ($64,000) to a WikiLeaks account in Germany…The average donation to WikiLeaks via the Wau Holland Foundation is about €20... The largest donation through the foundation—€10,000—arrived from a German donor after the publication of the Afghan war documents..."
The two-year-old article, How WikiLeaks Keeps Its Funding Secret, reported that “WikiLeaks needs about $200,000 a year to cover its operating expenses” and “Mr. Assange said WikiLeaks gets about half its money from modest donations processed by its website, and the other half from ‘personal contacts,’ including ‘people with some millions who approach us and say 'I'll give you 60,000 or 10,000,' he said, without specifying a currency.”
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704554104575436231926853198.html And if Soros is contributing, there could be a dozen reasons; Soros appears to be constantly playing for a seat at the table, both shoulder to shoulder with the bankers and shoulder to shoulder with the opponents of the bankers, such as MoveOn.org.That's because I keep my friends close, and my enemies closer.
Anbody wanting my identity can have it and the bills that go along with it...
funny how few people actually understand how data is transmitted over the internet or what the 'internet ' is....you dont need to 'force' carriers to let you hook up equipment to monitor and record data....the DOD owns the pops. they can do whatever they like...!?
Then it’s time somebody blew the whistle.
At the RSA computer security conference in February, according to Technology Review’s IT editor for hardware and software, Tim Simonite, “The U.S. Department of Defense may have funded the research that led to the Internet, but freewheeling innovation created the patchwork of privately owned technology that makes up the Internet today. Now the U.S. government is trying to wrest back some control... "
Simonite said that “representatives of the White House, U.S. Department of Defense, and National Security Agency said that safeguarding U.S. interests required them to take a more active role in governing what has been a purely commercial, civilian resource.”
But in the name of safeguarding the American public from "U.S. intersts," Jim Dempsey, vice president for public policy at think tank the Center for Democracy & Technology, "said militarizing the Internet would be a mistake. 'How did we get to this point where the most effective resources to secure the Internet's centrality to our society are in a top-secret military agency?’"

If you're sending sensitive data, just encrypt it. This isn't rocket surgery.
PGP is effective enough to prevent them from BOTHERING to crack your shit unless they're already about to land a death-squad on your roof.
swindlers list. they are a equal opportunity oppressor
The reason a system works for The System is because it is a system. The secert police tactics of the Czars were adapted by the revolting Bolsheviks to their maintain 12 timezones of terror-controlled territory. Ultra helped defeat the Nazis and Purple help defeat the Emperor of Japan. ODESSA moved Eichmann to South America. Those WWII OSS systems morphed into NSA spy satellites, very high flying U-2s and now onto Echelon and Carnivore.
Any expectation of privacy or personally secure communications is a mark of ignorance or delusional egoism.
Work for peace, be a good neighbor and help your community grow.
I'm wondering how many friends I'm gonna find on that list when I finish the DL.
Reggie where are you.... Apple busted...boom
Can't wait for the new iphone with retna scan to come out...
.... Fucking figures....
people who have gone into debt to acquire their iPhone sneer at my prepaid $20 phone no camera no games text/make calls only
but I have it because of this, scary stuff!!!
Find out if my device was tracked? No need to waste a moment of my time.
I support the US constitution bill of rights - Strike One
I visit LRC, AntiWar.com, Natural News and info-wars. Strike Two
(Please do not tell anyone, I mean anyone, that I visit Z$%# H#$%*)
I was a Ron Paul county delegate in WA state - Strike Three
Three strikes in a game that doesn't even require a single strike, see no need to check.
If you are not in DHS your being tracked. The propaganda in this bit of news is the "12 million" figure.
What 12 million an hour? 12 million to a team of Feds? 12 million at a time? It most definitely is not 12 million total that is for damn sure skippy.
peAce
Don't worry, it's only a bit (literally) compared to what's in the the Stellar Wind datacenter.
Oh and are there any GPS tracks in their files?
Read Sibel Edmonds' book "Classified Woman" to see how our FBI is happy to allow corruption and espionage within its own ranks. Then that same FBI violates the 4th Amendment 12 million times over.
Americans were too stupid to vote for Ron Paul, the only real defender of the Bill of Rights in congress. Now we are screwed.
I'm going to guess 12 million was a partial list and that they haven't found or released the similar list held on Android users.
Check my bad math but there are about 2,000 federal judges in the US and if that's correct then 12 million warrants would be 6,000 per judge.
Further down the rabbit hole we go.
I'll also guess if the media picks this up they will point the venom at the hacker group and not the FBI or Apple. How could the FBI get that info without Apples cooperation?
Or did they pull this info out of routers and switches?
Or did they pull this info out of routers and switches?
That's possible, I think. All I'm seeing is a list of UDIDs, device types, and names.
In the "small world" category, it turns out a namesake of mine bought an iPad.
That sucker.
I'm also trying to check with a relative to see if he may be one of the folks listed.
(edit: he wasn't)
more than 12 million "terrorists." Need lots of bullets to wipe them out.
Bloomberg just aired the story. Zero Hedge leading the way.
this is nothing, although the assholes at the fbi should be prosecuted as terrorists.....
the fbi murdered martin luther king, jr with the aid of the cia, army delta force, and memphis police department.
faceplant and 'smart' phonz are intelligence agents wet dream
its not paranoia when you are being watched.
How disappointing. I'd expect my username alone would be enough to get me tracked, but I don't have an iPhone. No vindication for me today.
I wish Annonymous would find and publish the payroll files for the government's forum shills.
Weird, a good friend of mine, actually it was a guy I talked to on a street corner, told me he downloaded the file and that some people name thier i-device after them (some named the thier devices like "Da-tunes" others like "Dr. James Merrywheater Smith". Some names are odd or fairly unique. This guy (that I will never see again) googled several of the names and the people that this person googled were pretty damn normal looking and pretty much sheep for lack of a better word.
So it was this guys opinion (I dunnno he's a fucking idiot for all I know about him) that the list is made up of people suspected of copyright infringement or perhaps an Apple list downloaded from somewhere else (maybe or maybe not more scary) it's possible developers have certain privilges that could allow this list.
Nice, not only are there now an approved 30,000 drones to be flying over soon, but they've taken to tapping into our pc's and macs. But its all for the sake of security you see. You can trust your government. Now hand over those guns like nice little sheeple. Fast and furiously.
FWIW:
FBI Says Laptop Wasn’t Hacked; Never Possessed File of Apple Device IDs
http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/09/fbi-says-laptop-wasnt-hacked-ne...
That's like totally almost so plausible, sure.
The Antisec release was only 1 million of the 12 million. So even if you come up negative, you still could be being tracked. Of course you are. Everyone is.
CAUTION!! This may be a trap. The FBI is good at PsyOps...and so are hackers. Entering your UUID here may provide them with your UUID. Why would anyone provide a hacker website with their UUID???
Does it make sense that AntiSec just happened to stumble upon this particular laptop?
Why are only 1 million of the 12 million names released?
Why provide an encrypted version of the file to download? If AntiSec has hacked it, there is no reason to publish it 'encrypted'. Instructions are provided for the technically minded folks to use OpenSSL to decrypt it. Here's some information on OpenSSL:
" Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 OpenSSL libraries are part of the OpenSSL product. For more information about FIPS 140-2, see the following web address: http://www.oss-institute.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=84&Itemid=12"

and here's a little bio on one of the developers, John Totah:

what do you bet there is a backdoor in OpenSSL? Download the file, run OpenSSL, and viola, your system is open to The MAN, or to hackers. Oh, OpenSSL is "open", so there should be source code available, right? Download it, scan it, look for vunerabilities. Even "open" software can have propietary code which is not accessable. It warrants further investigation.
It would be surprising if anyone's iPhone actually shows up on that link's 'search'. But, thanks for playing!
anyone know if there is the same problem with android users?
oh..and Apple is a problem? How about that barely legal Facebook? All of those internal shots..er monologues, porn stills..er family pictures...etc...think that belongs to you? When the 404 screen hits what are you going to do? "My Grandmother's hologram is on there!" oh look at me I have 987 friends! Not anymore, bitch!
