Forget '5 Minutes To Midnight', We Are 'An Inch From War'

Tyler Durden's picture

After last night's sabre-rattling missile-hurling efforts in 'The Koreas', one could be forgiven for strolling down memory lane to the Doomsday Clock and how many minutes we are to the midnight of global disaster. Well, Leon Panetta has the answer today in this clip. Somewhat shockingly honest, Panetta changes the metric from time to distance and states, on CNN's 'Situation Room', that "We’re within an inch of war almost every day in that part of the world, and we just have to be very careful about what we say and what we do". As Politico reports, the lugubrious Leon says that America is prepared for "any contingency" that might result from North Korean actions. While cool diplomat Clinton "believes that [Kim Jong Un] may have some hope that the conditions in North Korea can change", Panetta underlined the administration's firm stand to any further provocative actions concluding "unfortunately these days, there is a hell of a lot that keeps me awake."

Why are we supposed to be afraid again?  Is it because of their fail-missiles?  Why do we give them food and money if they're such a hostile enemy that we could go to war with at any moment?

US Makes more food than the whole world can eat. So in order to prop up US prices, impoverish the sheople, and defy the laws of supply and demand, they have to dispose of the food somehow, and nobody the Hell is going to pay for it, hence they pretend to make fuel out of it (ethanol) and give it away by the container ship to backwaters like Africa/N Korea/Detriot/Lichtenstein.

And I didn't say blackwater, but all thugs and shooters and cannon fodder eat for free too

"Inch away from War"

Panetta, you are a cenitmeter away from the population calling you on your BS in this next false flag bullshit: Tonkin Gulf, 911, Pearl Harbor (Day of Deceit),

Don't you dare drag us into another BULLSHIT fucking war because of your stinking ass ego. You do so at the risk of inviting the 'barbarians' into the homeland and the commoners supporting the barbarians.

Leon Panetta is totally incompetent, just the way they like them. I have no doubt we may be closing in on a global conflict. War is the only exit door they know to fix the problems were facing. We broke the great depression with WWII and nothing is different this time 'round.

Destruction to Construction is the game plan. That's how all the "peak" this and "peak" that get's zeroed out.

Leon Panetta also informed Con-gress that he will keep them informed of the UN decision-s about war from now on rendering both houses cerimonial.

The 5 minuits to midnight is set on Mountain Standard time, set your clocks accordingly.

I am surprised the missile test of India wasn't mentioned. India now has capabilities to not only hit Pakistan, but China. And India has nukes. The conflict in Korea is regional even though N. Korea has nukes. The situation in India has greater implications.

It should be also noted, that crude oil is poised to head higher. $150/barrel anyone? Anyway, one argument for smaller government is that eventually the government becomes to hard to manage. I think we are clearly seeing that today. Add to that the incompetence of certain politicians and you have what we have today.

Just send the fat boy King a shit load of Korean BBQ, an endless supply of cheap $47 hot Columbian hookers, and the problem will be solved for another few years until the Norks want to reboot the triannual shakedown.  Maybe next time it'll be Brazillian hookers and Kentucky weed.

You're talking about Lyin Penetto here right?  And everybody loves Korean BBQ and Columbian hookers. I don't understand your post

Kim Jong Un is a fat pampered boy king.  To be a fat leader in a country of starving peasants is disgusting.  The free food and hookers is an analogy of that pampered life that the Kim family enjoys in that country.  Just because "A" is bad (USA, banksters, Jooooows) doesn't make "B" good (DPRK).  Hell, at least Americans can't be imprisoned (yet) for not showing enough emotion for the Dear Leader.

The "triannual shakedown" is the DPRK business model to routinely shakedown the 6-party countries for a renewed aid deal in return for them to stop some supposedly threatening behavior (nuclear testing in 1998, plutonium enrichment program in 2003, rocket testing ever since, now threatening another nuclear test if food aid is interupted).  Okay, maybe not triannual, but it is as regular as the solar cycle.

As for whether Panetta is lying', check out North Korean media clips for yourself to hear their calls to arms if the South speaks out, farts or stops the aid shipments.  Gotta keep that self-sufficient DPRK going, right?

(and my f-ing vote is isolationism. F-ck both N and S Korea and let them either kiss and make up, or kill each other.  Don't care.)

well Kim Jong Un might be wonderful or horrible, but he never harmed me or my country, so it's none of my business, let his own people decide if they like him. Every North Korean male owns an AK-47 (cause he is in the army) so they are equiped to handle any problems.

I don't understand any of the 6 party talk talk. What is that a whole bunch of weak countries kissing his ass sending him tribute? No interest to me.

I am not an isolationist, neither were the founders. Like my hero Washington and Jefferson I favor trade with all nations, entangling alliances with none. Though I admit an abiding love for my dear France

As far as a pampered boy king, reminds me of a certain community organizer (they also share a taste for dog meat)

North Korea is about 10,000 miles away from Washington, D.C.  How in the hell can we be one inch away from war?  Quick, get Leon on some meds.  Another reader mentioned that CNN is part of the War Department.  You don't know how close that is to being true - while I was at CNN, there was an Army Colonel working in the CNN newsroom.  Yes, that's right, active US Army.  You think it is bizarre out there, you just don't know HOW bizarre.
