Perfect.
gold
which is the better of these to get gold ?
Kitco, Apmex, Monex or Blanchard.
Any better suggestions ?
tulving
Guys, I NEED your opinion on something, fast. I've just got two job offers, both at BBs (Bulge Brackets), and I need to make a decision by tomorrow. The first is for clearing at Goldman Sachs and the second is for broker analyst at Credit Suisse. This is the hardest decision I've ever had to make. These are both TOP roles at awesome IB's. In your honest opinion, which role do you guys think is more prestigious?
May I suggest the position of Auto Erotic Asphyxiater at the The Closet?
As I've posted previously - Starting with a domino 5mm tall and increasing the size of each successive domino by 150%, the 29th domino is large enough to toppel the Empire State Building.
Not that it will take 29 to toppel our charade of a global financial system!
See if you can get a gig as a Blankfein fluffer.
That way you could develop your chops and go for a career path in either Fed Fraud or as a US government regulator.
Drink Coke! It's Deliciously Cancerous!

Chris Duane, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Carry on, dude

Can he sing? I heard INXS needs a front man.
You know Ben sings this to himself in the bathroom mirror before every QE annoucement...

Complete and total worldwide economic collapse is the only solution. I just thank God every day for it.

yep, and POTUS Romney will usher in the US branch of the one world bank. I think they decided to skip the Union of the Americas or whatever it was called, and just jump to OWG.
Makes more sense really. You lose little and business remains nearly as usual.
ALPO FOR GRANNY
I love the account name
Thanks bro. Likewise.

Always go for the Goldman Sachs, because they are the best. It doesn't matter if they pay less or give you a lower position or require more hours of your time, they are the best.
Thanks Matt! :) That was my thinking too. What kind of career progression do you think would be available though? Clearing is kind of a back-office role, which concerns me. Man, this is tough.
You should change your name to MillionPennyBoner
Trillion Dollar Anus!
So MDB... You're Jewish?
you bet
You made a spelling mistake that's CLEANER not Clearing.
Mom. Dad. Is that you?
First you start with the position of suckering in your closest family and friends to buy into stocks you are about to dump. After that you can go straight to their prop trading desk with the proceeds. Following position is to sucker in pension fund from the local community you have connections with. Hopefully you can be promoted to a position where you start stabbing old people in the street with immunity. Seaside villa here you come.
I gave you an arrow up because I thought there was more wit in your sarcasm than MDB's. Then I thought about it and came to the conclusion that I was wrong because there is no sarcasm in your post as it is an accurate account.
excellent strategery Dr Head
Sounds like you worked there... eh? LMAO!!
Right now, their IB division is in total chaos... and this was only recently say, less than 18 months ago the tide turned on the squid. We used to call up Charlie just for kicks...
Practice your sales pitch on your Dog to begin with. They are patient listeners.
Practice makes perfect..practice practice practice....
Tell your new boss that you will split your bonus with him/her. This will surely put you on the fast track.
You should also check at JPM's derivative desk. I think they have a job opening there.

MDB Hey, this is for you buddy good luck with the new career.

My bad, didn't get to the end of the thread without offering the same great advice. ;)
Million Dollar Bonus, you have to watch the video. It is awesome!
Well, this is a first! I have never seen a troll lampoon him/herself. Wonderful!!!!!!!!
Even better for you than clearing would be cleaning. If you get to empty Lloyd's trashcan, you can find the slip of paper saying where and when he is meeting the hedge funds to give them the inside information.

The sky is the limit at The Goldman Sachs. If you work long and hard, no matter where you start, you can make it to the top. You must not give up early and settle for a lesser position like Central Bank Chairman or Governor of a State. Too many people wash out because they don't have what it takes to make it to the top and earn the $100 million bonus golden parachute of victory. But I know you have what it takes if you just believe in yourself as much as I believe in you.
You should trust he bears. They know that the Goldman Sachs is the best. They have direct lines to the Ben Bernank and the William Dudley. Go for GS. Too bad you don't have offers at BAC or JPM...
"they are the best" or you mean "THEY ARE THE BEAST"???
Whichever one will keep you busy and away from a keyboard.
No brainer. Whichever gives U the biggest taxpayer bonus after U royally phuck up.
In fairness, he keeps everyones spirits up, I do be wetting myself sometimes
I recommend the third option of blowing your brains out, as YOU are at the core of the worlds problems.
meh
lol fuck these haters I think this is your funniest post yet ^_^ you are just rollin' in it aren't you
While I agree, this one gives it away. He has been sucking in so many for so long that I am kind of sad he chose to jump the shark today.
MDB is over.
Surely no one will think he means what he says now? O_o
Dude look at how many junks he still gets. People fall for it every time.
Dude, MsCreants' not a dude, fyi.
are you positive?
We got undressed, it was a big 'ol mess...
SHEENA WAS A MAN
If I had a dick, I'd go chase you with it. Whaaaa whoooo! Pucker up sweet cheeks.
Are you the Snortgees "meh" girl? That 50 twist looking clit she has is probably better than what I'm swinging.

Thanks....I'll remember that for future reference.
Dudette?
Yup. She be here longer than me, I believe. Now my 5 year memory is off a bit, but close.
Wait a minute--if I like him I should give him green?
He's hilarious, but.
Agree, but you may be entirely too discerning for MDB's Red Arrow Army.
As far as prestige goes ..I'd say a position as Walmart greeter would offer you more prestige than any one of those two.
I thought you had an app in at the Fed? Oh well, I guess you gotta work for the squid to get there. Goldman Sachs is the place for you.
You will need a good set of knee pads and a flack jacket.
Your talent was obviously spotted from your comments here on Zero Hedge. Whatever the case I hope the Goldman Sachs choice does not destroy your soul.
That's easy! Which one of them pays a million dollar bonus? Don't accept any of them if the bonus less than your handle!!
But wait - - who will teach your civics class at the community college?
Goldman. Just on the off chance that they *really* do God's work. That way when you die, after years of working for the squid (Jesus loves a good fish you know) on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness. So you'll have that goin' for you, which is nice.
+1 for the Caddyshack reference.
MDB, the world needs ditch diggers, too!
What...the FaceFart Pump Desk is closing?
LOL..please...your posts are getting absolutely asinine.
I thought you were some gubbermint small business hater...er...regulator....but NOW you can work for a squid!
LOL....what a joke.
My first thought was, well, this is a fail troll.
Then I see all of the responses. *facepalms*
I look forward to your tales from the bowels of GS.
Obviously prestige is most important and more important than merit and math. Merit and math rely too much on your own individual self. That would be very selfish of you. Prestige, on the other hand, is about joining the bandwagon and that which the collective has already decided for you. It is the easy choice. You, as an individual, do not need to decide. We, as the collective mind whatever that may be, will have decided for you. Become selfless, rid yourself of the "I" and join the "we."
Notice how the biggest domino was the last to fall? It is the largest collective and in a way the most prestigious. The small dominoes fall first. The individual gets it first before the collective. Go big and find the biggest, baddest gang around. Goldman it is.
Say what you will about MDB; she's an artiste when it comes to hijacking a thread!
Dont go for secondary posistions:
Rumors got it,that the Queen of Diamon/ds,not sure if she realy is a Jamie? No(Thatll be the Rule Britania the waves are coool)is in dire need of a: Groom of The stool, thats the higest posistion anyone can wish for in this dire world, and gives a clear wiev to Divinity.

The Charade
The great populist from Texas, Rep. Wright Patman **, was instrumental in pressuring President Roosevelt (FDR) to create the last study on the concentration of economic power in America, the TNEC study; the Temporary National Economic Committee study.
This committee study lasted from 1937 to 1939, and while invaluable data was uncovered, major portions of that study are still classified to this very day!
Years later, Rep. Patman would again be the motivating force on another study, Tax Exempt Foundations and Charitable Trusts: Their Impact on Our Economy (December 1962) 87th Congress, 2nd Session; exposing how the super-rich hid their wealth and ownership through foundations and trusts.
The super-rich and their cartels and multinationals have been so successful that today few Americans are even aware of the importance of knowing the ownership of any corporation or bank, and are routinely ignorant of the extraordinary concentration of power today!
Who owns ExxonMobil, BP, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Citigroup, GE or AT&T?
Who owns the majority of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies today?
Nobody knows, and fewer appear to care!
Sadly, the way the situation has been rigged and manipulated, it would be impossible to find out unless one possessed unlimited resources, since much of that wealth and ownership is hidden within trusts, and multi-layered trusts of all types, and those trusts reside, technically speaking, offshore.
Those offshore trusts aren’t even required to be officially registered at those offshore sites --- there isn’t even a way to deduce how many trusts exist!
(Please understand that when Forbes publishes their list of the global richest, they include a disclaimer that it was compiled from public sources --- yet most data on the super-rich can only be gleaned from private sources --- and when there’s no discernible way to track such private sources, an accurate list on just who are the super-rich is impossible to compile!)
There is one interesting item, after many years of research, we have been able to ascertain.
That item concerns the oldest corporation, and continuously existing corporation, in the Western Hemisphere, the City of London Corporation.
While it is interesting to note that this ancient corporation appears to also own the oldest continuing financial fund, their City Cash, the really salient point is that it appears to be the nexus, or central point, of either the meeting or congregation place of various of the world’s major cartels.
Of course, this is much too obvious, to mundane and banal for most unaware, blithely ignorant people to take notice of, so please continue with your self-involved, self-absorbed and infantilized consumer existence --- after all, this is what they demand you do.
**Rep. Wright Patman was crucial to the passage of legislation finally awarding the promised bonuses to the World War I veterans. An excellent account of this is to be found in Marc Levinson’s book, The Great A&P and the Struggle for Small Business in America, pp. 152-153.
(I don’t agree with the author’s final conclusions, but his chapter on Wright Patman is highly recommended.)
Rep. Patman, at his own expense and financial loss, self-published two books in 1934:
Patman’s Appeal to Pay Veterans
and
Bankerteering, Bonuseering, Melloneering
True classics in politicking for the people against the ruling 1%!

Does anybody miss Trav7777 yet?
Yup, wish Trav would come back to see us. The Drixster stops by sometimes (though his rhetoric is weak in comparison).
Yes, very much. Underneath the prickly exterior was often uncommon wisdom and insight. Maybe a vote for reinstatement?
Miffed?
^ ^
I'd take a beatdown from Mako any day over Trav's incessant and rarely contributory whining. Everyone should get a voice though.
Hey MDB, this might help.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx4poQw1mZo
Good luck.
MDB, also make sure you have dinner with Barack first! He should help you to decide.
Try Blankfein's nuts before you give up on yours.
"In your honest opinion, which role do you guys think is more prestigious?"

The one that has the best benefits package of hookers & blow... Hands down...
omg - a crack in the facade of mdb. surely the end times approach.

Are they both offering a "Daily" Salary ?
( just to be cautious )
;-)
MDB = Million Dollar Blowhard
Complete and total worldwide economic collapse is the only solution. I just thank God every day for it.
If you're looking for work we need a mystery customer for our spearmint rhino chain over here in the uk, we dont actually pay you but the perks make it worth doing for free.
Thanks, MDB!
I had stopped reading comments, but glad that I have come across yours today.
DId you try for the Muppet Master position? If it's taken, you can get assistant to the Muppet Master, or assistant to the assistant to the Muppet Master.
MDB --
I think you should go to Goldman "We All Float In Here" Sachs.
I think they offer the quickest route to your final destination.

Congrats: Your CV must be peppered to the margins in the disciplines of grand larceny, criminal fraud, welfare fraud, counterfeiting or extortion. (heard a tinge of bestial indulgence is the "closer" at those shops).
Have you ever taken the 5th? Does either position require you to wear a kevlar helmit and vest? Does either have "Little Beau Peep Outfit" Fridays? Is the Cocaine free in the employee lounge, or, do you have to bring your own? Does either position require you to sign a "wet term-life" policy making the employer the sole beneficiary of more coverage than the combined coverage of your home town? Stocks or options? Protection from criminal, civil or pitch fork actions?
If the answer is yes for both employers for all the above issues - go to the one where they guy that interviewed wore the more dazzling pair of white patent leather shoes - not the plastic imitations - but the real thing and /or, alternatively, the one shop of the interviewer that had the more awesome business card.
Dress British, think Yiddish, and you won't go wrong long.
Take an honest job, a lot of car dealers are hiring
You're probably going to have to determine who's tools are the largest and whether or not you can regularly stretch your lips around them without undue chafing or need for emollients...
MDB you could get them to buy Facebook , how are yours doing they should get the kids through collage, I am sorry it just that HA-HA
EDIT
Coin shops generally have the lowest over spot price, have no paper trail, accept cash, and no need for packages to be mailed. I love my coin shop. Too bad my coins keep falling out of my damned canoe.
Yep, my local coin shop only deals in cash. I feel like a smooth operator when I walk out of there with a pocketful of metal.
Are those coins in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
Nope, that's my dick, and I'm mad as hell.
Sounds like you've got issues then.
Used to agree, but my local coin shop was asking 1760$ / oz for physical gold last week-end (almost 10% markup). Or is it that physical is getting sparse?....
In my limited experience, it's getting hard to find cheap metal.
Or is it that physical is getting sparse?....
No he is charging you too much.
My local coin shop in Ohio charges 6.75% sales tax or I would buy from them. I refuse to pay tax on my metal purchases. The coin shop guy says we can thank Tom Noe (google him) for that. WTF is up with that?
Might try coin shops in states that do not have sales taxen on PMs. You might have to have it shipped, but all the other advantages still hold.
Try coin shops in AZ and NV, would be my advice. :-)
Come to PA; no sales tax here on coins...yet.
run an add in local paper on wkends
will buy gold and silver, spot plus a %
meet at local cafe..coffee and cash..
it's all good..
I lost mine in a 110-mph windstorm last year. True story. It took a whole lot of chainsawin' to regain access to them. As luck would have it, whilst moving them to a new, secure location, they fell out the canoe.
Coin shops generally have the lowest over spot price
Sometimes they beat spot. Like any other merchant bent on closing, the diff between SOGS and COGS migh matter more than the market print.
Our dealer sees one client at a time - two doors - one a cage - the other the sales "office" - once in they get locked - and business is cash only - and though there is no overt sign youz got to know the dealer is packing - can't recall getting change back - no receipts - a mutually agreed conversion - at first it seemed strange but after a few transactions it all make sense.
An arm chair assay shows the weight at more the 28 grams, about 36, and that the quality is as advertised to two decimal places.
Remember one time being in the "cage" with another buyer who was interested in gold maple leafs or gold eagles. still wondering why someone would pay collector prices for marquis bullion grade coins when less glamorous coins, or bars or slugs of same or better grade are a bunches cheaper. "A Bullion by any other name' - or "A bullion is a bullion is a bullion", either way, the intent of holding the precious, just saying, is for those "hoped-to-be-avoided-hard-times" when it probably won't matter what is stamped on the shiny, and hobbies, like coin collecting, are middle earth fairy tales from a time long passed that our future begets sings to coax tykes to sleep.
I personally use APEX. Their selection of products is outstanding. One can buy small amounts of gold or silver (as small as one tenth of an ounce). There is a minimum order of $50. I have never had any problems and have received my items promptly through the USPS which can be tracked. But I find that USPS doesn't do a very good job of estimating its delivery. Usually a delivery is either one day early, one day late or right on time. I'm comparing USPS to a private company like FedEx which has been spot on almost every time as well as UPS.
But over all, I like APEX, but I only buy highly recognized coins such as American Eagles or Maple Leafs. I have bought a few designer and collectors coins for my own amusement but the mark up is much higher as opposed to just a little over spot for Eagles and Leafs.
I'm assuming you mean APMEX?
To expensive.
You want gold?
Go on the curve with a "CASH 4 GOLD" sign.
You'll be able tu buy gold at around 40% of spot price.
Or....buy old computer processors, that way you get gold at around 10% spot (YMMV).
Yard sales are a good place to look for coins and jewelry.
I'm not kidding.
true that
and craigslist
paid twenty two each for eagles 3 days ago
only five ,but every little bit helps
especially well below spot
9 out of 10 people I see entering my local coin shop are selling their gold and silver for below spot.
I just wish I could get to these people somehow beforehand......
true dat
obviously at local coin shops, junk is the lowest premium over spot to pay (but then again, yard sales & coin shows can be had for the coupon clippers)... From my perspective, the coin dealer is happy to have a client who will take rollover junk off his hands...
It's nice to have a coin shop owner who likes you...
Get a pink gorilla suit and "we buy gold sign". You will see a lot of "hot" product and bad teeth but at 40% face who cares. The full page ads in the paper are offering to buy the shiny not sell it!!!
My dealer said some people came in the other day and sold a bunch of silver so that they could buy CAT food for their CAT. What can you say to something like that?!
Eat pussy.
Damn Satan, hard to argue with that logic.
You say... "Sold to you"...
I like APMEX and ProvidentMetals.
Compare prices and shipping costs.
IMHO APMEX..
I used NWTmint back in the day, was happy withit
Pan it yourself. Totally off the grid. No paperwork.
Panning is hard, back breaking work. There was a reason whores and opium were popular in gold rush towns.
1. Tulving
2. APMEX
3. Gainesville

997. Kitco
998. Blanchard
999. Monex
1000. Ebay
Preferably local coin shops. If online is your bag baby, then Tulving for big orders, Provident for smaller ones.
LCS (Local Coin Shop) cash transaction.
I like Gainesville.
My favorite and local too...
yep, Gainesville is my go-to when I've got less than $3k to drop. If I do, then NWT
Gainesville coin.
Apmex is ok I'm parital to CNI personally. Price shop around.
Silvertowne
I've never done business with those you listed. However below are who I have used
These guys are legit, and running a special right now. I've bought from them once in May and liked the experience and cost
http://www.thenbcd.com/
I've also enjoyed doing business with these guys for years:
http://nwtmint.com/
http://www.bulliondirect.com/
American Century Investments. The mutual fund guys also have a PM counter. Spot +1% last time I saw. Not sure what they charge for delivery.
I would check with your local jewelry stores and find out who they sell their scrap to. That's the guy you want to talk to because he's also getting bullion.
Amergold. Coins shops seem to have higher premiums in my experience.
Tulving....but Hannes can be a bit weird sometimes - and very short on the phone. Tulving does have some great prices, but you also must by 20 oz of gold at once or 500 oz of silver. I picked up some gold pandas for $38.00 over spot at Tulving.. He is selling Maple Leaves - 1 oz gold for $19.00 over spot right now...and 1oz Australian Kangaroos for $28.00 over spot. If you got the money to lay odwn $30,000.00 at once....he's your man - by far. - most people are not going to buy in that qty though. Try GAINESVILLE COINS. for smaller purchases...THEY ARE PRETTY GOOD TOO.
@ whatisinaname
My vote is your local coin shop. Just bought gold today.
I've always had good luck with Gainsville.

I think I need ...
I hear there is a huge hoard of it in The Hobbit.
I did not know until today that Ayn Rand bitchslapped Libertarians.
I find that intensely funny and deeply sad for all the Libertarians using Rand to justify their political affiliation.
Then again recently I learned most Libertarians here really no nothing about the politics they have glomed on.
Basically they are just greedy fucks who think they deserve much more than they truly do.
Read it and weep girls.
Or for those like me read it and chuckle deeply and satisfyingly.
http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/libertarians.html
For the record, I shall repeat what I have said many times before: I do not join or endorse any political group or movement. More specifically, I disapprove of, disagree with, and have no connection with, the latest aberration of some conservatives, the so-called “hippies of the right,” who attempt to snare the younger or more careless ones of my readers by claiming simultanteously to be followers of my philosophy and advocates of anarchism. Anyone offering such a combination confesses his inability to understand either. Anarchism is the most irrational, anti-intellectual notion ever spun by the concrete-bound, context-dropping, whim-worshiping fringe of the collectivist movement, where it properly belongs.
“Brief Summary,”
The Objectivist, Sept. 1971, 1
Above all, do not join the wrong ideological groups or movements, in order to “do something.” By “ideological” (in this context), I mean groups or movements proclaiming some vaguely generalized, undefined (and, usually, contradictory) political goals. (E.g., the Conservative Party, which subordinates reason to faith, and substitutes theocracy for capitalism; or the “libertarian” hippies, who subordinate reason to whims, and substitute anarchism for capitalism.) To join such groups means to reverse the philosophical hierarchy and to sell out fundamental principles for the sake of some superficial political action which is bound to fail. It means that you help the defeat of your ideas and the victory of your enemies. (For a discussion of the reasons, see “The Anatomy of Compromise” in my book Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal.)
The “libertarians” . . . plagiarize Ayn Rand’s principle that no man may initiate the use of physical force, and treat it as a mystically revealed, out-of-context absolute . . . .
In the philosophical battle for a free society, the one crucial connection to be upheld is that between capitalism and reason. The religious conservatives are seeking to tie capitalism to mysticism; the “libertarians” are tying capitalism to the whim-worshipping subjectivism and chaos of anarchy. To cooperate with either group is to betray capitalism, reason, and one’s own future.
Harry Binswanger, “Q & A Department: Anarchism,”
The Objectivist Forum, Aug. 1981, 12
We get it.
Collapse is coming.
BUT WHEN? Japan dragged it on for decades and still hasnt. Europe hasnt even started the massive printing stage yet. America in all intents and purposes hasnt either. Yes, yes the monetary bases have increased, so what? Knowing its going to collapse can be barely helpfull and even detrimental if you get the timing all wrong.
I have submitted hundreds of well thought out, heavily researched articles and videos to ZeroHedge for over a year and a half. I did not put even 15 minutes into this video or even submit it to them and it got stickied to the front page. Crazy how the world works, but I am very happy to finally made it on a site I go to everyday.
Ask any salesperson you meet, and they will all tell you the secret isn't the product, but its packaging.
In this case, you packaged an interesting idea in an easily digestible format (simplicity of expression is your friend).
A winner is you!
