I don't buy the 'reason' being bandied about for today's takedown. Can anyone else believe that the algos and positions of sooo many traders/hedge funds/whatever could all be triggered within such a narrowly defined range of price and would any other two commodities/currency pairs/indices have such a deep co-ordinated attack on them within minutes? Why would a disparate number of players be using the exact same algos, logic, target prices etc?

Tylers have been rather "ideal world"-like when it comes to sudden PM moves for a while. Will once in a while write an article about the evil PM manipulation, but when it is actually executed, they come up with nice stories. The problem: I have difficulty to believe, that the tylers are actually that naive to believe in those "explanations". They've shown to be capable of recognizing much less obvious patterns in charts.

I will sell Gold when Bernanke allows the banks to fail and does not any intervention whatsoever in trying to prop house prices, or preventing the banking cartel to melt. In the meantime, just was lucky to sell Gold a few days ago because of rotation, probably people will need some days to put 2 and 2 and come back to the fight against fiat. For USD to come back, we need a chairman who is ready to slash the speculators and levegers and send a clear signal that he wants the depositors to make good. That means interest rates at 12% at this point, but that would make the Treasury broke instantaneously. So we need a reversal in the madness at this point.

From a chart history standpoint, look at gold over the last year. When gold tanks, it tends to tank 5%ish before bouncing. No one can tell where the near term optimal entry point is but if history rhymes then we may have a little more carnage before a bounce. If it is a cascading drop then we may hit a 15% drop (1620?).
Or a quick opportunity where were are now. Who knows.
