The destruction of records by the SEC, as outlined by Flynn, is something far more than an administrative accident or bureaucratic fuck-up. It's a symptom of the agency's terminal brain damage. Somewhere along the line, those at the SEC responsible for policing America's banks fell and hit their head on a big pile of Wall Street's money – a blow from which the agency has never recovered. "From what I've seen, it looks as if the SEC might have sanctioned some level of case-related document destruction," says Sen. Chuck Grassley, the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, whose staff has interviewed Flynn. "It doesn't make sense that an agency responsible for investigations would want to get rid of potential evidence. If these charges are true, the agency needs to explain why it destroyed documents, how many documents it destroyed over what time frame and to what extent its actions were consistent with the law."

Why woudl the SEC get in trouble for this? Aren't they the Shred Everything Commission, the governmental entitity responsible for making sure that nothing is properly documented unless it can hold up a deal and cost investors millions of dollars while attorneys rake in enormous sums that pale in comparison to the bankers structuring the deal?

Furthermore, the head of JPM is not nearly as important as the had of the Fed, CFTC, or the SEC. That being said, while there are some gentiles in positions of power, there are a vast disproportionate amount of Jews in finance, and at the very top of the pyramid.
The Fed, SEC, and CFTC are the three most important financial positions in the country, and the Fed is probably the most important in the entire world. With the exception of Volcker, every head of the Fed has been a Jew. Considering their extremely small percentage of the population, and how the Fed historically has transferred money from everyone else to the top 1%, many are starting to see the racket for what it is.
The Jews handle the money as we have for centuries been the bankers to the world. Would you rather put it in the hands of the "White Shoe Gang" at their anti-semetic country clubs.

While I agreed that the SEC is pretty worthless, Shapiro just got there. She was at the FDIC foir a long time and I believe that her outspokeness against TARP and other Paulson (Hank) era ideas is what got her bounced from FDIC over the the hell house that is the SEC.
As the person in charge she may get some heat, but I would be suprised if she is in cahoots with any of this.

The government of the USA is nothing but a giant circus with grossly overpaid clowns running the show. If this is true, and it would not surprise me, this should be the last straw for the SEC and the financial regulatory structure in the USA. It makes you wonder who was directing Mary Shapiro to destroy these documents. My guess would be primarily Barney Frank and Chris Dodd (and many other senators) - they were the ones in charge of loosening the regulations on Fannie and Freddie. But they were also big recipients of campaign contributions of the financial institutions that were bailed out to the tune of trillions and counting. It would be good to see Durty Mary Shapiro and the other directors of the SEC in an orange jumpsuit. However, she was put in that position for a reason. She was willing to do whatever it takes to protect the banks for the tidy sum or $8 million/yr in taxpayer money.
I am thinking that someone paid less money would do a better job at protecting the people of this country.

I read the whole Taibbi story and that was the only mention of Ms Schapiro. What are you guys smoking? What's inspired you to figure she's gonna have her tit in the wringer over this?
