Google Trends Shows Why The Status Quo "Powers That Be" Should Be Scared. Very Scared
The volume of searches for the phrase 'Bank Run' has just hit an all-time high - higher now than even during the peak of the Lehman Brothers 'moment'. While English dominates the language choices, the Europeans (Dutch, Germans, and French) are extremely 'interested' as are the Chinese...but it appears the Singaporeans are running the most scared (as we noted here) is perhaps not surprising, followed by the Irish and the Americans - with Germany a disappointing 10th - perhaps they really do not care as much as everyone's bluff-calling hopes. It seems the fears of real 'bank runs' are becoming virtually 'viral' - not a good sign for the stability of the fictional-reserve-banking-dependent status quo.

I don't give a shit if dumb Americans are just looking up the definition of "bank run" because someone on the teevee said it. People are learning/thinking about the subject. That makes things pretty fucking unstable.
so, like there's a bank run. right? look at it this way: just because they don't happen to have any depositors doesn't mean the rest of their business model doesn't work. just unregulate them. let their other numbers run...

I only have so much room to hoard, somethings it's easier to know how to make your own. Like laundry detergent...I've been using it for over 3 months now, works great.
1 Fels-Naptha soap bar
1 Cup - Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda*
½ Cup Borax
-Grate soap or break into pieces and process in a food processor until powdered. Mix all ingredients. For light load, use 1 Tablespoon. For heavy or heavily soiled load, use 2 Tablespoons. Yields: 3 Cups detergent. (Approx. 40 loads)
*Arm & Hammer "Super Washing Soda" - Baking Soda will not work, nor will Arm & Hammer Detergent - It must be sodium carbonate!!
TIPS FOR LAUNDRY SOAP: We use Fels-Naptha bar soap in the homemade soap recipes, but you can use Ivory, Sunlight, Kirk's Hardwater Castile or Zote bars. Don't use heavily perfumed soaps. We buy Fels-Naptha by the case from our local grocer or online. Washing Soda and Borax can often be found on the laundry or cleaning aisle. Recipe cost approx. $2 per batch.
Try the no knead method of bread making. A kid could do it. Learn to make do, the shiny you have stacked will last longer, plus you don't ever have to do without in case you can't score what you need. I didn't go looking for these recipes, they are just popping up all over the place. Learn to do as much as you can from scratch. Buy basics, don't throw money at processed crap. Learn to cook. I work with a small group of guys. I have been telling them for about the past two years how bad the economy is. I have been telling them that there will be a bank run among other thing.
I am not rich at all but I have $1000 stashed in $1 bills. When the bank run happens they will be in big demand.
Some of the guys have even, over time, started showing interest. Some have been asking me about what coins to keep. I talk about silver a lot. One of the even told me when the time to buy silver is right to let him know.
I think it may be sinking in. When I go to work every day I have two firearms with me and my credit and bank card. I watch for the signs. Wen I think the time Is right I'm gonna max that bio OTC h hh out. I'll be the one at the store buying up cartloads of water while the entire store looks at me like I'm a goofball. They will be thirsty later.
