Gory Gory Man United
Manchester United IPO'd at $14, opened at $14.10, popped to a huge $14.20, and is now being heavily defended at $14.00...
How much will Knight Capital lose when the $14.00 support breaks?
Perhaps Jefferies should have hired Eric Cantona as a symbolic warning of what will happen to anyone who dares to sell MANY below $14.00.

Just like Failbook.....at first.
Only Hooligan Gits will partake!
Chavs gonna mess you up.
That chart's looking like a bit of a worm burner.
IPO's are a 2-3 hour event, anymore.
If it jumps, sell it.
If it lags, sell it.
If it drops, sell it.
If you hold too long.....find another hobby.
Who are ya, Who are ya!
Not even the great Peter Schmeichel will be able to 'save' this MAN.U stock...
LONG WAYNE ROONEY'S HAIR IMPLANTS
SHORT THE GLAZER'S WAISTLINE
Why are the market makers defending 14? Won't they make more with the greenshoe option if the price falls further?
we want to watch Cantona against Anderson Silva!!!!
Fuck you Whale!
FailChester BergNited?
+1
Everybody now!...Whoooooooo the fuck is Man uniiiiiiiited?..
This continuing financialization of every aspect of life is disgusting. Sport will now have to be bent and twisted to produce money. I mean why not float the government as well as an IPO? Oh, I forgot that it has already been sold.
"Sport will now have to be bent and twisted to produce money."
Just now? Hell this is why I stopped following/watching corporate professional team sports over a decade ago. I've also quit college sports as well within the last 5 years.
I do still allow myself to watch PGA golf once in awhile. But they are starting to employ more and more pro military/militarization propaganda lately as well. I am sick of that shit.
Anyone who is still an NFL fan should be ashamed of themselves after the whole Pat Tillman debacle. NFL/Media propagandized the shit out of his death and pumped the official story on that until it finally came out that the official story on Tillman's death was a damned lie.
Hell's fire corporate sports have become part of the so-called local 'news' here in my neck of the woods. To me that is just as bad as having updates on American Idol, the Kardashians, or any of the other inane TV programming posing as 'news.'
Goddamn, what a joke it's all become...
It' a company that engages in the manufactoring of goals.
The most famous sports franchise in the world you capitalist gobshite! Now get out from underneath your rock and turn off the Khardashians you narcissistic American Cunt!
That's what they get for being glory hunters, and to the folks with souls, "You'll Never Walk Alone!!!"
Wish they would make the Dempsey acquisiton!
What and screw Fulham? FUMU!!!
ManU - Ajax; best game of last year
Bringing sport teams to stock exchanges should be a criminal offence
ITS TEH SNB THEY R PEGGING IT LIKE EUR CHF
Rooney open a facebook account recently?Or someone else did it for him?
1 original by him and 4 false ones
That is what they get for NOT being POLITICALLY CORRECT, damnit! ... The name of the company should be PERSONchester United.
More balls than buyers I guess....
Hold...............HOLD...............HOLD!!!!
MillionDollarBonus, is that you at $14.20, getting in "at any price" to tell your grandkids?
Once again another IPO where the only people who makes money is the insiders and the bankers. Of course Pissonme will say.."it was priced just about right".
Basically, Pissonme said it's being 'supported' and nothing negative.
As Cantona said in the press conference called for himm to explain his kung-fu high-jinx "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea."
Sardines are about to be thrown in the sea...
$666Million in debt. They are successful on the pitch but if this IPO doesn't fly they are in trouble.
"United carried 416.7 million pounds ($666.2 million) in debt as of March 31. It had no debt when it was bought by the Glazer family in 2005."
http://cnsnews.com/news/article/manchester-united-ipo-prices-below-expec...
"...total debt rises to US$1.17 billion."

General Motors CEO Barack Obama gives $559 million dollars to Manchester U. for shirt sponsorship deal:
http://news.yahoo.com/manchester-united-559-million-gm-shirt-sponsor-dea...
It looks to me like this is a taxpayer bailout of a failed real estate investor, who also has run one of the world's most storied soccer franchises into the ground. Similar to, but worse than, the McCords and the Dodgers.
I haven't seen any analysis of the GM/Man U. shirt deal. Is this a good deal for licensing? Too high/too low? Are there any sports agents out there that can comment on this?
When GM was bailed out, it was only bankrupt in the US. GM had billions in cash stashed outside the country for tax evasion reasons. Oh, I'm sorry, 'tax avoidance'. So now GM is using US taxpayer money to pay for foreign sponsorships that the foreign divisions have plenty of cash for.
Am I missing something?
Well stated.
Manchester United WERE debt free until the thieving Glazers came along. All they have done is to asset strip the club for their own gain. They should run for POTUS.
Big blocks coming in. Was 1.5 mm vol @ 9:53 now 6.7mm
Dunno why they don't wait till Tues, they'll get it at $9 then. lol
"Trick question; Coventry have never won the English Football Cup!"
SP500 is topping out on wave 2 - wave 3 down should follow.
http://bullandbearmash.com/chart/standard-poors-500-daily-august-08-2012/
SP500 down 5 as of this post.
Lot's of believers still buying on extremely low volume - wave 2 isn't going down without a fight. Sorry about that Man-U.
The fucking little "Channelingstocks.com" twit is better at calling turns than this amateur EW crap...
Agreed. EW is just more 'Hocus Pocus'. "If it goes up today at 2:30 it MAY continue to go up but then again if wave C5 doesn't complete then it COULD go down........
Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah. First of all, ANY form of T.A. is USELESS! The market is rigged! Why can't you Elliott wavers figure this out? All you're going to see in your 'rear-view mirror' is a reflection of QE, Zirp, and all the other government interventions that are destroying our market, our future, and our country.
Sorry folks, my patience is NOT just wearing a little thin. It's GONE, period. It's time for action. Patience is procrastination. If Americans don't do something BIG and SOON, it's just gonna be too late. In fact, it IS too late. Stick a fork in America. It's done. It's all over but the mad rush of the Golden Hordes, the Unwashed Masses.
another pathetic ipo
Really unbelieveable. Twenty years from now, what is obvious here at ZH will be apparent to the majority of researchers. We are at peak cultural rot.
Hey, IPO my uniquely smelling fart accompanied by a harmonic acoustic vibration.
Now I can´t gamble where I live..but with this I can now....play the stock before the game day...now if they would leak the score before hand....I think I can make some easy money..
It's not an investment, it's a souvenir. I'm sure plenty of people would spend at least $14 to buy a Man U share certificate to hang on their wall. I'm sure you could spend more to get more useless souvenirs. Look at Green Bay Packer fans.
+1 for knowing my mind
i'd like a share for my wall in fact
but i'm not paying 14 bucks for it
i'll wait a few weeks and pay half that
what was it that they manufacture again?
Oh, I'm sure they've got a consultant to tell you they are in the "Experience Marketing Industry."
/puke
I suppose hookers and dope dealers are in the same business, actually. They just need better marketers to better position their business model.
Are they even issuing paper share certificates? I'm not sure they are, which would be an epic fail from the marketing dept!
People think football fans are retarded or someshit, People dont buy shares for novelty value, just like people didnt "wanna own a piece of facebook", just short jefferies and man utd.
So they're busy ruining Football (Soccer) the way the U.S. has destroyed Baseball?
What next, $23 million Euro contracts with stock options?
Oy.
I played lots of BB and the one thing that turned me off years ago was the buying of players from outside the comunity, including overseas.
Why should I give a rats ass about a collection of missfits all brought together for 1 2 or 3 years before once again the team is reshuffle.
What is a Dodger and Yankee? Hell if I know.
You can't even get people in British style pubs to watch soccer on TV in America and they thought we would buy into the stock of Man U?
Is the Manchester United IPO the Pets.com for the new stock generation?
In a few years will we be seeing the Pets.com sock puppet flogging used cars wearing an Man U jersey?
What pisses me off is that if this IPO is successful you would start seeing every major market sports team go public. It would be just about the only thing that can save pro sports now, for a couple years before BarryO would start using taxpayer funds to bail out the Yankees.
The teams would be followed by individual players. The Kobe Bryant IPO, The Tom Brady IPO. Soon Sportcsenter becomes a Crameresque extension of Wall Street. Of course injuries would be the key impacter of portfolios. We'll find out that Tom stayed out late Saturday night and Giselle got mad. That will take BRDY down 10% pre-market. But one touchdown pass can put him up 35% week over week.
Wall Street has got to die.
Even hooligans are bearish.:!
How many headlines will have " own goal " somewhere in them?
How the fuck does a soccer club have an IPO offering?
First they get taken over by these guys and their now dead dad.

Here's their now dead dad.

Here's what the ManU faithful have to say to the new-ish owners.
Someone please call the police in Vegas. We got another dummy hanging.

anyone got the over under how much the blowhorn got to sell this? watcha all think.? 100k. 200k?
these guys are all on viagra IPO knee jerks...who would want to buy shares in a company whose BS and P & L are a permanent three card monte act!
Seem like a terrible omen. I open
http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2012/08/10/manchester-united-opens-at-14-05-...
and all I get is 40c in the top left corner and nothing else on the page..
I was wrong. I thought we would see a key downgrade from a non underwriter to push the momo herd into the ManU IPO.
