Greece Working on Final Draft for Leaders Meeting

Tyler Durden's picture

Via Peter Tchir of TF Market Advisors,

So, what are the steps here?  Approve it.  Handholding press conference.  Lots of "defining moment" and "mission accomplished" speeches.  Then what?  Rumors that 20 billion or more of bonds won't agree to the PSI (that is only 10%).  Rioting in the streets?  (those ungrateful people just don't understand the need to sacrifice themselves for the greater good).  Then we wait to see the reforms fail?  If the PSI works and the people accept their fate, at least we bought a few months in Greece because it takes some time to see the plans actually fail.

How long until other countries question the wisdom of paying par on their bonds (even with money they are borrowing from central banks)?

It will be interesting to see if they try and jam in a retroactive collective action clause and what other details come out of this plan.

Greece Working on Final Draft for Leaders Meeting, Official Says
2012-02-07 13:36:22.5 GMT

By Marcus Bensasson
Feb. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Greek officials are working on the final draft of the document listing the budget and structural measures required to receive international funding, a government official said.

The official, who declined to be named, said the document would be discussed by political party leaders supporting the government of interim Prime Minister Lucas Papademos at a meeting later in the day. The official spoke to reporters in Athens.

I must be a bad person. I want everyone involved to suffer. Greeks, EU, Euro and most of all bankers.

Off topic/On Topic

A meme to watch out for is Unity Government.

There is talk of the Arab league proposing a Unity Givernment in Syria.

Unity Givernment in Greece

Unity Givernment in Italy.

There is a theme, a meme and rather ugly one developing there my friends.

Many little unities and then the big Unity.

Unity Givernment

Is that like a "DICK TATER" (controlled by central bankers)

Sounds more like "Unity TAKERment"

My most common typo for some strange reason. It should be takerment.

If (when) Greece defaults, the over/under on when a major bank makes the first new loan to the Greek Government is two months.

The rationale will be, "there have no debt, so their credit rating is up".  The real reason behind the loan will be that the banker will NPV the "profits" and get a bonus based on such.  And in the event the banker gets cold feet at the last minute, he is certain to hear from Papandreauopodopolos, "Hey, we're not Portugal".

By hook or by crook Greece will not be allowed to default.
Germany will get her way now only to lose when the people revolt.
People need to understand that there are far too many negatives floating around out there and all it will take is a two or three of these to simultaneously flare up and precipitate an uncontainable rush to the door.

Only poetic justice if the Greeks having been forcibly enclosed into the Wooden horse of Merkel, then escape at night and run amok in the Euro palace to vent their frustration before taking their boats back to Hellas! From-- Hell is ponzi Euro-Medusa-Merkel--land of Gorgon-zola smells .

To think that what Eurozone gives with one hand to Greece they take back with other as payment to Bankstas + interest at stratospheric spreads; all at the expense of people with nothing but rags n bare bones. Its called free world and democracy...and fiscal discipline imposed by those who feed the very corrupt banks.

I expect a rejection and then a request for more time to "work it out".

These governments and economic soothsayers crying "wolf" is getting old real fast.

They need to reassure people that the "crisis crying" is real and let Greece go BK.

Making the world "tread water" waiting for the tide to either come in or go out is not working very well.

Never let a goog crisis go to waste.

Unless, of course, you can create a crisis over and over again by using the same dumb fuckers, and squeeze them over and over again, in the process fucking everybody.

Anybody else think this in and out repeated penetration has gone on long enough? How about some completion here?
