Today's deadly protests in Athens, in which one Greek has died, have been the most violent of the year so far. For footage of the Parliament's garage building as well as numerous dramatic photos of the violents riot, which is continuing over night, see attached.

I really believe the violent masked people in Greece are working for the government (of course anyone can become violent but these so-called extremists must be working for the government). Although they stood in front of the police and were guarding the Parliament (something I don't understand) they were being beaten up by the hoodies who show up at large demonstrations and provide the excuse for the police to crack down on the protest... In Iceland, people guarded the police, in a similar way as the Communists did today, from violent rioters, but it worked there. In Greece, the hoodies just took aim at the Communists instead of the police. In Greece, these hoodies must be working for the government.
Parliamentary garage fire is a good start. Let's concentrate on the rest of the building.

Violence is funny. Why do you think there are both comedy and tradegy masks, displayed side by side. As for the Greeks, well, the country is named Greece, you know. Up to them to clean it up. Do it sooner and it won't involve so many sticks and molotovs.

Do me a favor: don't invest anymore in Greece whether in the form of further bailouts (with interest), bonds, CDS, participation in privatization programs etc.
Write your governments also to refrain from such activities. Although all these may sound counterintuitive, this is actually the best service you can offer to the Greek people right now.

I wanted to point out that in Greece people have long suspected that the hoodies (the idiots with the hoods and their faces covered who smash store windows) work for the interests of the government. They are present at major protests and curiously are never arrested. The provide the excuse for police to throw tear gas and clear out all the protesters. Today, the hoodies dropped their metaphorical masks (not their actual ones because they are cowards) and went directly after the protesters and beat them.
A few Greek blogs report that the cause of death of the protester was tear gas that landed right next to him. I think they use some funky tear gas in Greece. Anyway, they do use expired tear gas (like decades old) -- there is some dispute as to whether this makes it more lethal or not.
Sad. Divide to conquer. This should be peeps against bank cartel/gouv, not peeps against peeps.
