This Is The Only Way To Change The System

Late in the evening on November 4, 1605, an English soldier named Guy Fawkes took up his position deep in the cellars beneath the House of Lords in London’s Westminster Palace. He was armed with 36 barrels of gunpowder and intended to blow up the building, taking King James and most Members of Parliament with it.

Fawkes was discovered hours later, just after midnight on the 5th. He was captured, interrogated, and tortured, ultimately revealing details of his co-conspirators in what became known as the Gunpowder Plot.

History never let it go. To this day, the 5th of November is still commemorated, officially as a celebration of the government’s triumph over its domestic enemies.

[As an etymological note, the word 'guy' is actually derived from Guy Fawkes; it was originally intended as a term of derision but by the 20th century evolved to its current meaning of any male.]

As you can imagine, the aftermath of the Gunpowder Plot was anything but comfortable in England. The country became an all-out police state– arrests, interrogations, and inquisitions were all commonplace as the government attempted to smoke out its enemies.

Earlier this week, the federal government arrested a quartet of elderly men as old as 73 on terrorism charges. Like Fawkes, they are charged with plotting attacks on politicians and government buildings.

US Attorney Sally Quillan Yates said that the case is a reminder that “we must also remain vigilant in protecting our country from citizens within our own borders who threaten our safety and security.”

In a COMPLETELY UNRELATED MATTER (naturally), major hotel chains in the United States began rolling out the ‘If you see something, say something’ Homeland Security ads across all of their properties.

As of yesterday, US-based Marriott, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, and Hilton hotels will subject their guests to short videos on the hotel welcome monitors. In this particular video, Johnny DoGood calls the police because he sees… wait for it… a man standing next to a taxi.

Meanwhile, Tennessee recently became the first to implement Homeland Security’s VIPR program statewide, essentially placing ass-grabbing TSA agents at various checkpoints along the state’s freeways.

And in just two-months’ time, you can look forward to the FBI rolling out a nationwide facial recognition program. This, after FBI Director Robert Mueller announced that the bureau would make greater use of rules which allow agents to surveil Americans, even if they have absolutely no ties to terrorism.

This police state is the ultimate slippery slope. Once you start fondling people at airports, you might as well take over the train stations… at which point you might as well do the bus stations too. And highways. Shopping malls. Sports stadiums. Grocery stores. And of course, schools… can’t forget the kids.

This only gets worse with time. Soon, any semblance of civil liberty has succumbed to Lingchi, the Chinese torture of ‘death by a thousand cuts’.

It’s understandable that people are angry and demanding change. Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators thought they could change the system through violence. They were wrong.

And even if violent revolution does create change, it usually works out poorly. Russia got Lenin and Stalin after their revolution, France got Robespierre’s Reign of Terror… followed by Napoleon’s military dictatorship.

Others are deluded into thinking they can change the system in the voting booth… and with one year to go until the 2012 showdown, there are certainly a lot of people pinning their hopes on this idea. Most forget how surprised they are when, in election after election, their guy turns out to be just as bad as the old guy.

George Carlin once said, “When I hear a person talking about political solutions, I know I am not listening to a serious person.” He was right. Politics creates problems, not solutions.

In fact, as Rousseau outlined in his Social Contract, the very nature of government requires that people sacrifice some personal freedoms in exchange for certain conveniences. But more and more, the costs in freedom are rising, and the conveniences become rather… inconvenient.

Truthfully, elections are simply clever parlor tricks anyhow, designed to make people think they are in control. They’re not. The only thing we can actually control is what we do ourselves.

Governments are like primitive cannibals feasting on a great treasure trove of sheeple. You can’t force them out, and you can’t vote them out. But you can sure as hell starve them out. When enough people pick up and leave, essentially voting with their feet, it accelerates the system crash.

This is the only way to truly change the system.

This is nonsense. Voting CAN be effective, but only if you vote for the RIGHT people. We need to start voting for compassionate politicians who care deeply about their constituents. We need to set higher standards for our elected leaders by asking the following questions:

1. Are they going to be strong leaders and protect us from terrorists who hate our freedom?

2. Do they consider the poor and disadvantaged in their speeches?

3. Are they passionately patriotic and willing to put America first?

4. Are they charismatic and able to connect with the electorate?

If we start setting higher standards for our politicians, we will start getting the results we want. It's up to all Americans to start DEMANDING more from their politicians. THIS is what will put us back on the road to recovery.

    La La Land, with its weak, ineffective government is the perfect destination for an (ex) citizen who leans more to the internal flight impulse rather than the fight impulse.

    True. If voting really worked, then Ron Paul would not be getting marginalized and relegated to the sidelines by the MSM. The only 'choice' we will get in the coming election are candidates that have been completely vetted by TPTB. Right now, on the Repub side of the picture, it is Romney and Cain. This whole thing with Cain lately is a rouse the sheeple sympathy ploy. Rally the troops! What a farce! Two entities hold all the cards; Wall Street and the military industrial complex. Paul has annoyed both by demanding the Fed be abolished on the one hand and that the wars be stopped and troops brought home on the other. A grass roots campaign that talks straight with the voters is the only chance he has. I just hope the voters actually ignore all the misdirection and do some thinking this time around.

    In boxing, when organized crime members realized that their efforts to fixing fights were failing tragically, their corrosive efforts focused more effectively on the judges. The same can be found in basketball as point shaving and the athletes went south, referees become the ire of corruption. This idea can be easily translated to politics….when cheating can’t be accomplished through the rules, focus on the players when the authorizes get wise, become the authorizes.

    You can vote with your feet without leaving your own neighborhood.   Stop doing business with the usual suspects, support locally owned stores and small banks (if you bank at all).   Deal with people directly and trade/barter as much as you can.   Off the grid transactions will starve the local gov't beast.   They say all politics is local?   Well, so is the economy.    With a finely tuned lifestyle you can eliminate your need to vote at all.   What "they" do will be of no consequence in your life.   If you are a closely-packed urban dweller -- you're screwed.   Move to a more conducive location and carry on.   One does not even have to have a "job" to make a living.

    Hitler came to power through the ballot box. He sure changed the system.

    Abe Lincoln changed the system for millions of enslaved Americans. He came to power through the ballot box. 

    The Progressives have been slowly changing America politics, econimics and culture for the last 100 years without violence. They did it through the ballot box.

    Everybody on this blog is so quick to take down the system, but NOBODY is ready to propose what will replace it! Here are some options. Take your pick or propose additional alternatives.

    Option 1: Socialism/Communism

    Option 2: Feudalism/Monarchy

    Option 3: Democracy (Sparta, mob rule)

    Option 4: Constitutional Republic (USA of founding fathers)

    Option 5: Anarchy, no rules (until some warlord emerges and exerts authority -- Nigeria)

    Without any proposals to fix/replace the system, you are just whining and cannot be taken seriously.

    Option 6: Secession or Discorporation. Break North America into its fourteen respective natural historical region and let each be run by the dominant political philosophies of that region. America itself is not TBTF. The south wants strong central leaders, a warrior culture, a landed aristocracy and the restoration of a religious theocracy (sounds a lot like a feudal state), let them have it. The West Coast from San Francisco north wants a technocratic arcology, then let them do it.

    The United States was founded as an experiment - it had never been done before, and it was, in its own ways, wildly successful for a while. Yet it was founded when there was 1/100th the population that exists today, and the strains that are becoming more manifest every day are arising because there is an attempt to impose one culture on a wildly disparate population. Maybe it's time to initiate the next stage of that experiment.

    Option 7: Resource Based Economy. Eliminate money. Devote all planetary resources (including voluntary labor) to building highly automated systems that support basic (and then advanced) human needs - clean water, food, shelter, clothing, education, and socialization. Use scientific method rather than politics to solve most problems. Eliminate most crime overnight (being based on money or lack of money). Eliminate poverty - not with money, but by making it obsolete. Make unemployment a plus instead of a minus for society. Turn the social value system upside down (err.. right-side up). Live with real liberty.

    Many revolutions are not.  No loss of life is preferable to any.  The elites want to kill us off, so i for one am not willing to play into their hands. 

    The system can be changed peacefully through the ballot box, people need to be better informed about how the Oligarchy works and controls us.  It can be done, information flow millions of times more easily than in 1776.

    If violent revolution is the only way, so be it, but it is preferably avoided, and it can be.

    When the supply chains shut down, government checks stop coming, services get cut, and so forth - it will be the angry, hungry masses that kill each other.  You won't be fighting the government.  You will be fighting some idiot from down the street who thinks you are the 1%.

    It's just not worth it. In my old age I find myself agreeing with conscientious objectors to war more and more. Go ahead and and shoot if they should so insist, but God will work out the justice of it all for me and everyone else for that matter. I'm not criticizing all of those who served us all with their bravery in combat but they must have went through hell living with the craziness of having to kill a human being(s) for the rest of their lives.

    I have zero sympathy for combat veterans of any armed force.  They chose to serve; in many cases, they volunteered to serve.  Draftees are slightly different but IMO you always have a choice - and thus can choose to not kill anyone.

    While I respect your and others decision to enter into the armed forces, for this country I would never do so myself.  1) It would serve as an endorsement of the utter nonsense they have put us through over the past few years.  I have disagreed with nearly every single decision or action they've taken over the past 10 years.  This government is not my government.  2) You always hear the horror stories of the aftermath of war veterans.. be it PTSD, losing limbs/life, being denied payments or medical care, and possibly ending up homeless.. especially considering the wars we are in are entirely bogus and without merit.  Our soldiers, our boys and girls, are dying FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - oh wait, I mean, they're dying for corprate interests.  Bush and Obama have the blood on their hands for the thousands of US soldiers and tens of thousands of innocent Middle Easterners they have murdered.

    The way you actually starve the system:  Don't be a debtor.  Buy local.  Put your money in a credit union or local bank.  Invest in physical gold and local businesses (including your own, if applicable).  If you absolutely have to borrow, borrow local.  Overall, exist in your own community to the greatest extent possible.  This will not only starve the beast, it will grow the fortunes of the people and businesses in your own community.  Uplifting the people you know and interact with on a daily basis is your greatest weapon.

    They've been attempting to get a budget.

     

    All those projects are just smoke screens for what is currently happening on the federal level in both the US and Canada.

     

    Massive Fucking Layoffs.  So how better to justify a budget than invent something.  Right now agencies are starting to bounce pension checks, only way to make sure some ancient director doesn't get right fucked financially is to make an unmanageable expense that is under the vulgarities of a "project" line item so it's separated from the operational budget.

     

    That way it's "off the books".  Just wait until they figure out how much the current director has pilfered from the FBI budget for his new office, a cottage (house really) and a couple of nice cars/boats.  However that is going to have to wait until Xmas time.

     

    Couple of other projects need to be executed first before the target is soft enough to kill.

    Stictly speaking, I think Marx would say that we have yet to see a true capitalism and thus what is going to evolve out of this is not a pure communism. He says that until people experience the true horror of capitalism and free markets, and they have repeated failed revolutions (because new dictators keep emerging out of the revolutionary leadership) they will not have a mindset to be able to live in a truly communistic society. It's sort of like Moses in the promised land, we can glimpse it but we won't get to live in it because we will not have, etched in our collective history and consciousness, the abuses and repeated bloodshed that future folks who have lived in capitalism will have experienced. He would say there has never, yet, been a communist nation on the face of this planet. There is no skipping steps and because of all the interventions, there is no real capitalism.

    I am not a Marxist, I do know his stuff.

    IOW, real communists want capitalism because it is necessary for the evolution of communism.

    First, let me be clear about this....I doubt if I would ever be your Pal, but you and Simon Black might be great buddies.

    Second, you need to go back and read what I wrote.  Nowhere do I indicate that disappering is either desirable or my goal.  Quite the opposite.  Working for change is something that I have been doing all my life, and I plan to continue.  I will take my stand here, while you & Mr. Black vote with your feet.  Good ridance.  Don't let the door slam on your ass on the way out, because it is greedy, self-absorbed, detached nomads without allegiance to America who are at the root of the problem.  The very scum who have worked so diligently over the past 30 years to send our jobs out of the country.

    Furthermore, we are already in the midst of major changes in this society.  Will these changes be 'revolutionary' in the sense that violence breaks out?  I don't know, nor do you.  I strongly believe that we are early into a big paradigm shift and that the masters are losing control.  It is almost impossible to keep secrets anymore, and without the ability to keep the curtain drawn around their activities, the masses are waking up to the way the elite have been shafting us all.  Change is in the wind.

    When I say "get out of the system, off the grid, and as invisible as possible", I mean become as independent as you can.  I have worked for myself for over 35 years & recently moved my office & staff into a 1200 sq ft segregated area of my home, which is about 15 minutes from the nearest town.  I have a 200' well that hits great tasting water at 75', a diesel generator, a 30,000 gallon pool & the house sits in the middle of 5 acres of mostly hardwoods at the end of a curving, gravel driveway and is invisible but for the mailbox and driveway entrance.  I'm about a mile down a 2 mile dead-end road & have a lot of neighbors in similar shape as me.  The garden will expand as needed.

    And why would you think I don't like technology?  I am totally plugged in.  I have an Intenet based phone sytem (EGHT is a great growth stock, BTW) & 2 wirreless routers, iPhones, & everything I need to run my company.  Business takes me to NY, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, L.A., Vegas, etc.  I also love fine wine and great food.

    Patriot does not equal hermit....but I really do like those Tennesee mountains & that Nashville music scene.

    There seems to have been some complexity to his personality, for he didn't appear to like the military industries but he advanced the agenda of the liberal establishment.

I also know from history that there was some debate as to which party he would work for.
