Guest Post: US Government Proposes Law Making It Illegal For Them To Kill You

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Simon Black of Sovereign Man blog,

Last Friday, US Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced HR 6357, a bill which aims to ‘prohibit the extrajudicial killing of United States citizens’ by the federal government. In other words, in the Land of the Free, they need to pass a law to prevent the government from indiscriminately murdering its own citizens.

Now if this doesn’t give one reason to pause and consider the distortions of liberty that have taken place in western civilization, I don’t know what will. Think about it:

  • Does a free society send government hit men to eliminate anyone they perceive to be an enemy of the state?
  • Does a free society have hundreds of police agencies, each with the authority to deprive a man of his life, liberty and property in their sole discretion?
  • Does a free society have hundreds of thousands of laws, codes, rules, regulations, and policies which effectively criminalize nearly every aspect of one’s existence?
  • Does a free society lead the world in prison population?
  • Does a free society hunt down criminals and terrorists by treating its citizens like criminals and terrorists?
  • Does a free society tell its citizens what foods they are / are not allowed to consume?
  • Does a free society steal your money at gunpoint to buy bombs that they drop by remote control on brown people in faraway lands?
  • Does a free society debase its currency and plunder the purchasing power of its citizens?
  • Does a free society saddle unborn generations with obligations they never signed up to bear?
  • Does a free society award near total control of the economy, the money supply, and everything tied to it, to a tiny elite few?
  • Does a free society brainwash its citizens into believing that they live in a free society? (at least the Chinese know they’re not free…)

Ask yourself, are you really living in a free society? Are you free? If not, why not? What else could possibly be more important?

It takes courage to answer honestly. But once you realize the truth and begin to see the system for what it is, it can be a liberating and life-changing experience.

You’ll find that there are places where you can live free in this world. There are ways to preserve your dignity, your privacy, your livelihood. You’ll find that you can build great camaraderie and mutual trust with like-minded souls because you share the same values, not the same color passport.

My guess is that you’re reading this because you’ve already started down the road to freedom. But you might feel alone… intellectually isolated in a sea of automatons.

You’re not alone. More and more people are waking up every day and beginning to realize the incredible fraud that has been perpetrated against them. When enough of them figure it out, this system will be finished.

That’s why I fundamentally believe that today is one of the most exciting times to be alive since the French Revolution. And we’re just getting warmed up.

If you have any friends or loved ones who still exemplify that self-deluded, bombastic serf mentality, I encourage you to pass this along to them… and challenge them to answer honestly.

Is this guy kidding?  This post comes from a guy who recommends living in Chile, Cambodia and El Salvador -- where governments have murdered by the tens of thousands.  AND he still hasn't given up his own US passport.

What a joke.

And then he writes:  "If you have any friends who still exemplify that self-deluded, bombastic serf mentality, I encourage you to pass this along to them"

You mean like those who bitch and whine about the system but can't manage to leave it?  Yeah. That would be you Simon.

So where would be safer to be than in the US, if you fear being extrajudicially killed by the state or meteor strikes?

Would Cambodia be safer? Maybe we should get a house boat and travel the world, with Simon as our merry captain.

Security is largely an illusion. The State kills people all the time, largely without consequences that would affect the power of the State - the only thing that really matters. Even if this legislation passes it will be business as usual.

The main thing I agree with Simon is to have options planned out beforehand. It's too late to start when you need them, and he does occasionally bring bits of information to the table. Svalbard might be an interesting visit for example, if you were looking for a pioneer adventure or looking to get eaten by a polar bear. All the rest is fluff, and I've noticed the increase in breathlessness in his missives.

Uhhh, might as well say that it is bad to live in the US because of King George III.  Pinochet has been out for a LOOONG time, as has the Khmer Rouge.  Don't know about El Salvador, but a lot of people expatriate there, so I doubt it is exactly random execution central.

American Dennis Kucinich is in many ways a 'socialist' in his socio-political views ... a friendly word in Europe, where 'socialism' is a phrase describing why it is so nice to live in these parts ...

But it is not so happy and popular a word in America

Instead of 'libertarians' in Europe we more have 'socialist anarchists' ...

Hi,

Actually I think Kucinich and Paul represent what the founding fathers wanted.  They disagree on what the government should do and maybe even on how to interprete the constitution, but they do believe in the constitution.  Both keep a full copy in there front pockets and refer to it regularly.

Exactly. If you can keep the constitution in your front pocket, you know its something priceless and truthful....

Anything that values freedom and liberty can be expressed in short clear sentences.

It does not need any complicating manipulating levels of deviation.

Let lawyers carry their 100k pages of tax law in their front pockets...

This post jumped the shark.

The proposed legislation is aimed at preventing U.S. citizen militants from getting killed when acting against U.S. interests abroad, though the legislation is purposely and deceptively written as if the noble purpose were to end extrajudicial killings of citizens everywhere, including on U.S. soil.

Sorry guys.  Not with you on this one.  If some miserable, semi-literate Allah-worshipping idiot is accidentally born in the U.S. as a citizen and later in life decides to take up arms against his country in a lovely, Disney-themed wonderland like Yemen, then the U.S. government has my blessing to use my tax dollars on however many Hellfire missiles it takes to send said idiot to his maker in the most expeditious way possible.

So for you, the ends justify the means, just as it does for all the "isms" out there.

We are not at war with Yemen, using a man controlled drone to kill people is still murder. The video camera as the aiming device does not remove the guilt of murder. A 16 year old boy was killed. Please show me the court ordered execution.

If Obama can kill them, he can kill you or me. "No controlling legal authority".

Why? Platos Republic was about a Utopian City State (central planning).  The "modern "Republic" was modeled after the Roman Republic, a manifestation of Aristotle's theory.

Any law which "allows" one a right, already established under unalienable rights, tacitly implies it isn't.  In math, a double-postive isn't negative but it is in politics.

I'm not sure what she gave me (coins and art perhaps), but somehow I inherited the saver gene. I'm trying to think what to get my friend's kids to get them off the planned obsolescence treadmill. Perhaps silver coins and bars. Not many kids are into antique stores and cool well built things. It's a shame.

Anyhow - cheers to our grandparents, boy did they know A LOT. Gotta hand it to other cultures (and families) that respect their elders and try to grasp their stories before their gone. (rant made me think of Cinema Paradiso)

Painting with a wide brush there. My grandparents do not think the New Deal was a good idea

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

they KNOW it was a good idea. One is an avowed socialist, one is a former IRS CPA who doesn't believe the government would ever steer you wrong. They encourage people to use every entitlement conceivable. They are pro-war, pro-Israel, anti-gun, and anti-drug. Sorry, but not all of our grandparents are shrewd, wise, self-sufficient do-it-yourselfers with a strong work-ethic and a love of liberty. Most of them are primarily concerned that the next SS check will be arriving on time.

Germany here did quite boldly pass a law prohibiting child circumcision, which kills hundreds of babies each year, and is in fact a mutilation, generally not practiced by Europeans - Very brave of Germany to do this, a real statement in the global culture wars

The cutting off of male babies' penis foreskins, is still generally practiced by Jews and Muslims ...

And shockingly in the USA because hospitals get one more fee for it, and the many Jewish doctors have sold the propaganda it is 'good for health' although it permanently lessens male sensitivity and perhaps enjoyment

So some hundreds of babies die from complications ... But American hospitals make more money

A few Jews apparently have come out against it, too, agreeing with the Christian reforms of the radical Jews Jesus and Paul, Paul writing that 'true circumcision is of the heart ...'

Wonder how many Jews and Muslims will sign up for penis cutting if they have to wait till they are age 18 ...

So if a child refuses to go to the doctor the parent cannot force them? How about to get a haircut?

How about forcing them to go to the dentist to fix their rotting teeth because the parents were not allowed by the state to stop them from eating candy?...its their little bodies right?

No...embodied in this new stupid German law is the obvious...children don't have the mental capacity to make certain decisions. Parents will make them for them...good, bad or indifferent.

What is not widely accepted YET is the state taking the place of the parents.

Tattoos, piercings, and elective surgeries are "transitory", I assume? Or are they forbidden as well?

"Very brave of Germany to do this, a real statement in the global culture wars"

That statement sounded something like "We will tell you what you can and can't do! And you will like it! Germany is a Christian nation! Zee Jews are not welcome here!" I vaguely remember something like this from roughly 70 years ago...

"It's all for your own good" they said... And in proud European form, the plebs bought every word of it!

Perhaps the Germans should pass a law prohibiting hypocrisy and blind statist servility.

In the land of plenty, nothing is Free!  I agree with Simon, and all his points are valid.  Where the chain on our leg used to be 20 feet long, now there are only a few links between the leg cuff, and the wall anchor.  I suspect that Simon has a "master key" to unlock that shackle on the leg cuff.  I'm still filing my "master key", and trying it in the lock every few minutes.  Four of the tumblers are in position, with only one more tumbler to move into position.  In a few moments, I expect the key to finally unlock that shackle.  The next question is the timing of the guards, and the time of day ..... I have to wait until later in the month when the moon is nearly hid, or it's overcast, and I'm making a run for it.  Don't worry, you guys that are still pinned to the wall, I'll leave you with my key, which you need to pass down the wall in an orderly fashion.  (I feel like I've awakened in Stalag 17, and Jim Garner is next to me ... I'm taking him with me, and no, my eyesight might be a tad for the worse, but I'm not Donald Pleasance either).

Thats why we spend a lot of time in "the past" (listening to fake storys about how bad everything was then, and how stupid and barbaric all people were... ), or even much more time in "the future", a mix of government propaganda and dreams about neverending consumption and immortality...

Awakening can only happen in the present...
