Hard Landing - Caption This Apache Helicopter Crash... In The Middle Of Afghanistan

Tyler Durden's picture

Forget China - now this is a hard landing. Because what's $20 million in taxpayer funded equipment between soldiers: LTRO 1+2 alone were like 650 of these...

That is pretty nasty.  I suppose that the pilot recklessly flew too close to the "hut."  Did the tail strike the building, or did he just irrecoverably stall the chopper in the requisite avoidance ascent?

Now crashing a heli is bad.  I am sure that the crew were killed and possibly some on the ground.  But take a look as this crash of a B-52 bomber by what was clearly a hot-dog manouevre by a pilot who had been previously found to be a "risk taker" by Air Force psychiatrists.  All seven (?) on board died.

I don’t remember the name for this maneuver, but it is a common in the attack helicopter community.  (I worked as a mechanic on search & rescue helicopters for a number of years in the last century.)  The pilot flew in low and fast then “traded” speed for altitude during the pull-up.  The pilot then used the tail rotor controls to kick the tail (and nose) around, reversing direction and flew back down at the “target.”

I know it’s obvious, but the pilot didn’t begin pulling back up soon enough.  The extra risk of this maneuver in high altitude conditions is the thin air.  So, ground level in this case could have been several thousands of feet above sea level.  The main rotor blades couldn’t “grab enough air” to keep from flying into the ground.

When first flying into the ground the main and tail shock struts absorbed impact energy (they are connected to the wheels you see hanging below the helicopter).  Due to the snow blown up from the impact, it’s hard to tell if the tail boom, tail rotor pylon or tail rotor blades were damaged during the original ground contact or if they were damaged during the following attempted pull up or what they struck on the ground.

Regardless of when they were damaged, the tail pylon, intermediate gearbox, tail rotor gearbox and tail rotor blades separated from the tail boom, likely at the joint where tail pylon connects to the tail boom.  Once the tail rotor anti-torque control is lost, the fuselage will spin opposite of main rotor torque until the pilot reduces main rotor pitch – the opposite of what they desperately wanted to do in this situation.  That’s why the helicopter was spinning in circles before the final impact.

Also, once this amount of mass (tail pylon, tail rotor gearbox, tail rotor blades, plus an intermediate gearbox) separates the helicopter is hopelessly out of a safe center-of-gravity range – a crash is going to happen.

Looks like DUI. It could have a medical cause though because it looked like the chopper was actually attempting a landing. It could have a sexual cause. Can't really tell from the video why it happened.

When a man is running from his boss
Who hold a gun that fires "cost"
And people die from being cold
Or left alone because they're old
And bombs are dropped on fighting cats
And children's dreams are run with rats
If you complain you disappear
Just like the lesbians and queers
No one can love without the grace
Of some unseen and distant face
And you get beaten up by blacks
Who though they worked still got the sack
And when your soul tells you to hide
Your very right to die's denied
And in the battle on the streets
You fight computers and receipts
And when a man is trying to change
But only causes further pain
You realize that all along
Something in us all went wrong

You stop dancing.

Forget China - now this is a hard landing. Because what's $20 million in taxpayer funded equipment between soldiers: LTRO 1+2 alone were like 650 of these...

And that's the beauty of patriotism driven consensus allowing genocide at cost plus no bid contracts for security and logistic services to support DML (dope money laundering) and TDD (Total Dollar Debase) operations. The CIA don't care about retailing da smack. They just want the liquidity skimmed when black market dope receipts buy respectability with a 40 point "clean up" fee to the courtiers gad flying and slogging zipper dragons in the hidden halls and enclaves of the Wau Usury Empire's counting rooms.

That downed copter is not a loss, it's a profit center. The more the merrier.

Does anybody here think a plane or helicopter or armored vehicle returns from a sortie or mission with any of the ordinance it was loaded with? They come back totally empty? Ya gotta think like them. Where's the money in that? The only cheap expendable in this war on anything everything and everywhere are GI Joes and the dead militant mothers in a tent at a wedding who just got a phosphor abortion from a button pushed by an Xe contractor tweaking a joystick in Colorado after he came back from lunch.

GI Combat death benefits are a bargain - and that's a good thing - it's a patriotic thing - shit - banging one 120 mm inertia slug out the barrel of an Abram's covers the War Usury Empire's dead GI payout and leaves a handsome margin for the blood rinse rooms of the Usury's counting houses.

The car bomb theater  - the accidentally on purpose press releases of photos from Abu Graib - the indiscreet burning of Islamic Cannons - always regrettable collateral white phosphor deep fried human buffalo wings with a side of braised blood sauce when the Xe Man burger flipper on the joystick suffers the misfortune of yet another stale targeting coordinate schedule from some drunk CIA OP commander (ooooops!). But that is the burden bling grazers must accept to prevent feeding time interruptions by the pesky "Derka Derka" brownies that "hate us for our freedoms" - ALL THAT FUBAR - EVERY LAST ONE OF `EM, ARE PLANNED AND PURPOSED BY THE USURY EMPIRE'S SAYANS TO INCITE OR MAKE IT APPEAR TO INCITE RESENTMENT OF THE CURRENT BATCH PROSPECTIVE SERFS HAVING THE MISFORTUNE OF LIVING ON LANDS THE WAR USURY EMPIRE SEEKS TO ADD TO ITS COLONIAL CLIENTS MASTER LIST AS WELL AS REINFORCE THE BIG BOX BLING GRAZERS FEARS OF A BEARDED AL KADA GUY UNDER THEIR BED LISTENING TO THEIR WIVES FAKE AN ANOTHER ORGASM (again).

Even an alleged head shot Davey Jones Bin and the subsequent alleged mass copter death (stevie ray vahaun's heli?) of some made for TV Seal Team claimed to have the dirty deed that still struggles to remove the Bin guy from the hives consciousness (the claimed assassins always get it after the hit is delivered, just ask Oswald), in an alleged made for TV raggedy ass million dollar basement of Bin #5, weren't accepted as anything more than a pile of bovine paddies on it's face, we'd be left with the fact the FBI does not have the evidence to indict the real Bin (who died in 2001) or any Bin replacements since. Good thing the Bambi snarked up an executive order to cover his ass,

The crashed copter - it's just a pixel in fiel of a zillion pixels - and nothing will fix anything until 1) the mob accepts it has already won - the UAVs over our communities - TSA in our airports - executive order allowing assassination of anyone anywhere anytime for anything and NDAA are a capitulation - the NDAA - the proxy repeal of the 4th amendment are signs - the proverbial "blink" when an adversary realizes he's out gunned  2) the mob accepts the political echelons and their administrative quislings are the well dressed faces of a silent coup of the commons government structures by a multi generational crime clan of white shoe boys, famed for their lack of loyalty to state and disregard for laws of man, have been running the oldest gypsy scam in the book, the intangible asset rehypothocation perpetual motion machine pig `n a poke 3) the mob begins ignore provided, staged diversionary "pixels on a stick" blasted from the Orwellian Hypno-Tube at Oceania's dull eyed cud grazers in the Valley of the Bling and begins to look at who is holding the "stick".

Thank them for taking you call.

Be polite.

CSPAN says it is provided by Cable Companies. You can ask the host if cable companies would still carry CSPAN if there were no Cable Subscribers

or ..

Ask the CSPAN host if they know how many of NAZI Germany's political media personalities were tried and convicted at Nuremberg.

We already have won. We don;t have to fight. We just have to prevent them using our authorities to sell off assets belong to the commons or paying off gambling debts.

Signs that rats are jumping ship include  1) when the white shoe boys change residence to localities that blocks law suits against their estates should they die of natural causes or medical reasons, like da way ENRON Kenny Boy's miraculous die off, and 2) when proposal to repeal emanate domain starts being passed around. They going to do what they did to Greece to us only if we allow it. Question is: SHould it be allowed and, if not, how to stop it with the least pain?

What's the drag on the alleged Fort Hood Shooter's Trial anyway (other than he's alive and lawyered up)?

Those of you still alive may remove your seatbelts and move about the cabin in preparation for unboarding. We hope you enjoyed your flight and look forward to serving you again. Enjoy your stay in beautiful Afghanistan and have a wonderful day."
