Has Juncker Gone Insane? Eurogroup Head Says German Debt Levels "Cause For Concern"

Tyler Durden's picture

And so Europe bites the hand that feeds it:

  • EU's Juncker says that German debt level is a cause for concern according to a German newspaper - RTRS
  • EU's Juncker says Germany has higher debts than Spain but 'no-one wants to know about that' - RTRS

What could have possessed this pathetic bureaucrat to criticize the only strong country in Europe is beyond imagination: if this is how he hopes to get Germany nervous about its debt levels and agree to monetizing, he is about to get a pretty brutal lesson in what it means to serve Le Bic Mac at 3:15 am on Luxembourg Strasse. Needless to say the Euro is not happy. We anticipate an immediate retraction saying his words were taken out of context as this is noting short of all out war between the EU and Germany.

As for who is most screwed when adding up all the debt, not just government, here is why Juncker may want to keep his mouth shut.

So you would treat the Social Security obligations as unfunded, and therefore as one of the oft referred to "off-balance-sheet" items.

In my book, that is a bigger "game".

Everything is going great.  Squidmen in power.  Counting off the 'nations' one by one.

Merkel and the German 'hard cases' are getting the leading edge of the rough-up.  Just a gentle tickle so far, mind you...let them think they are calling the shots as long as they cough up the dough.

Juncker says German debt cause for concern

BERLIN | Wed Nov 16, 2011 11:48am EST

BERLIN (Reuters) - Eurogroup head Jean-Claude Juncker was quoted in a German newspaper on Wednesday saying that Germany's debt level is worrying and even higher than Spain's.

In an interview to appear in Thursday's General-Anzeiger newspaper in Bonn, Juncker also said it would be a disastrous scenario if Greece were to exit the euro zone.

"I consider the level of German debts to be a cause for concern," Juncker said.

"Germany has higher debts than Spain," he added. "The only thing is that here (in Germany) no one wants to know about that."

Juncker said Greece was on the right path. But if it were to leave the euro zone it would lead to a "disastrous scenario".

Does ANYONE actually know how much debt there is in the world. I'm beginning to think that it's almost impossible to know. Sovereigns and Corporations just lie now, oh sorry, use alternative accounting models, which on occasion create little miscalculations. I want to see one big fat table with ALL debt on it, that would be fun. Does this exist?

Clearly here there is some shit going to spill from DAS HUN in the near future.

This is just stage two for EU integration.  Now that the periphery is locked down by the IMF/EU gang, scare the people of the core into accepting more European integration.  And so the Globalists march on.

Germany will never invade Europe again, militarily, at least. Christ, even their army is unionized. They are more likely to pick up their marbles and go home this time.

What is happening right now, is far more insidious than any war.  It is total, it is abstract, there is no clearly visible enemy, and it is the most total and complete assault on rights, property and sovereignty to date.  And the German people are also caught up in this.  Did anyone ask them if they want to bail out the PIIGS?  And all of a sudden just as some opposition to the whole operation materializes, somebody remembers Germany's debt?  This is just too blatant.

Serving up Le Big Mac at 3:15am is not what Herr Juncker ought to be worried about.  Big Kahuna Burgers is more like it if the Euro crowd feels threatened....
