Its gotta be gettin tough on the Obamatrons.

He talks and talks and talks. Unemployment and EBT card issuance goes up and up an up. Both of his signature agenda items (shovel ready stimulus jobs and ObamaCare) are a complete bust. Most of his staff of "financial advisors" have abandoned him, to go back to academia to scratch their chins, stare at the ceiling, question each other about what the hell just happened and navel gaze a little more.

They feel great when they leave his speeches...then the emptiness sets in again.

They can live with it a little more...lol.

While I agree with your evaluation, I was going for one of 2 other interpretations:

1. Playing off the gay riff on this thread (he is looking to get or give). The criticism would not be that he is gay, but that he is using Michelle as his beard and lying to everyone.

2. He is putting it to the country.

That might be an Obama I could support, some character and backbone. Imagine any of them with the guts to just get real and say it like it is.

I scanned the review. Mildly interesting interrogation of the New Yorker cover. I love how reviewers believe they have the story and do not own how they are co-opting and "authorizing" the art for their story telling. I like semiotics, but sheesh, their work is a text that can be "read" too. And so each analysis of the analysis vaporizes into meaningless infinity (kind of like the postmodern simulacra presidency).

People will hurt people over this, trust is out the door when everything is marketing.

Would be interesting to me to see how many here voted for corporate dems or corporate repubs the last 12 years and if they consider themselves the same person that voted for those corporate shills back then.

It seems there is unanimous verbal opposition to Obama in every action he takes every moment, so that seems to imply a likelihood of mostly republican and (maybe) independent voters who are members of zero hedge.

My reason for coming here is info about world economics and trends. I don't get off on singling out one corporate shill over the rest, like many people here do. But if that's how energy has expressed itself through the members here, then that fact says a lot by itself.

What about this:

Do not try and convince anyone of anything unless all talkers and listeners (this includes yourself) have a personal stake in the topic, have power to change it, and are physically doing something with that power.
