Iran Patrol Boats, Drones Shadow CVN-72 Abraham Lincoln As It Passes Through Straits Of Hormuz

Tyler Durden's picture

The US aircraft carrier Abrham Lincoln, which demonstratively passed through the Straits of Hormuz a month ago just to "test the waters", has now sailed out of the Persian Gulf following a several day stay in the 5th Fleet base in Bahrain. And unlike the previous passage, Iran decided to get up close and personal. As AP reports: "The American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has passed through the Strait of Hormuz, shadowed by Iranian patrol boats. But there were no incidents on Tuesday as the Lincoln’s battle group crossed through the narrow strait, which Iran has threatened to close in retaliation for tighter Western sanctions. Several U.S. choppers flanked the carrier group throughout the voyage from the Gulf. Radar operators also picked up an Iranian drone and surveillance helicopter in Iran’s airspace near the strait, which is jointly controlled by Iran and Oman. The Lincoln entered the Gulf last month amid heightened tensions with Iran. It is scheduled to begin providing aiding the NATO mission in Afghanistan starting Thursday." Which mission would that be: the one where the US has withdrawn from? Luckily, this time no "hacker" managed to take over an Iranian boat and to send a few stray torpedoes in the Lincoln's general direction. Hopefully that continues. Also, it is unclear if the drones shadowing CVN-72 were the same that Iran with China's help, reverse engineered after the US drone fell in the middle of Tehran and did not self-destruct.

And some more from the BBC:

The US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln has sailed through the Strait of Hormuz, close to the coast of Iran, for the second time in recent weeks.

A BBC reporter on board said an Iranian patrol boat at one point came within about half a mile of the carrier.

The vessel was protected by a US cruiser and destroyer. Iranian officials recently threatened to close the channel, through which 20% of the world's oil exports pass, in a row over oil trade embargoes.

The BBC's Jonathan Beale on board the Abraham Lincoln says the US has insisted it will keep the vital shipping lane open. A French warship and UK naval vessels accompanied the aircraft carrier in a journey through the strait last month.

The EU last month banned all oil imports from Iran amid growing concern over Tehran's nuclear programme.

are you talking about those three ships behind the carrier? Those are American warships, and they are actually really big. They just look small next to a massive carrier. Look close, those are aircraft on the top of the carrier, to give you an idea of the relative size of a carrier. Don't be misled by size though, even a small boat can do a lot of damage. The USS Cole was severely damaged by a small boat with explosives, and smaller boats at close range are more difficult to target than large boats at long range.

Missing the point, they even sneeze on the side of the carrier and it's game over for all of the towel heads.

Maybe a rough start, but a good start indeed.

The real irony in that attack is that the attack craft was overloaded with explosives on a first try, and sank in the harbor.  Under all the activity going on, no one managed to clue in to the guys recovering the explosives and repackaging the stuff for the subsequently successful attack...

We have more debt then we can afford already, that I agree with. As for one wrong move, usually when two opposing sides are with in 1/2 mile of each other I would hazard a guess that the chance for a mistake to happen goes up by one or two percentage points, and it is Harpoon City or do you disagree with that logic?

when two opposing sides are with in 1/2 mile of each other

Let's see here.

One side has missles that can be launched from the back of a flatbed truck. The missiles travel supersonic which means they close the 1/2 mile range in a matter of seconds.

The other side has large floating targets which are incapable of manoeuvre in the narrow straits.

What was the question?

. . . and the target is nuclear-powered, guarenteeing that substantial damage to the carrier would result in the poisoning of Iran's coast at a minimum.

Iran has a long coastline and no beaches.

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Bahrain on the other hand all depend on desalinization plants for their fresh water. They draw the raw water from the Persian Gulf.

Every last name that ends with …WITZ is a JEWISH last name. And Alan Dershowitz is a jew.  Here is link to wikipedia:

Dershowitz was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to Harry and Claire Dershowitz, an Orthodox Jewish couple, and was raised in Borough Park. His father was a founder and president of the Young Israel Synagogue in the 1960s, served on the board of directors of the Etz Chaim School in Borough Park, and in retirement was co-owner of the Manhattan-based Merit Sales Company.

What else one could expect from Jewish/Zionist propaganda?

Remember the first socialist Jewish-Bolshevik created worker paradise (a.k.a. Soviet Union) with endless extermination camps and mass slavery? It was not a secret for anybody visiting USSR but the Jewish/Zionist mass media did an excellent job hiding the truth.

The same mass media was/is hysterical about Nazi crimes but was absolutely silent about American, British, French, etc., colonial crimes.

Well, nothing is new. Nothing has changed. The same people and the same lies.

Lenin = Blank was a Jew

Trotsky = Bronstein was a Jew

Yakov Sverdlov was a Jew and the First President of the Soviet Republic.

Zinoviev = Ovsei-Gershon Aronovich Apfelbaum  was a Jew and best remembered as the longtime head of the Communist International.

Kamenev = Rozenfeld  was a Jew and Bolshevik revolutionary and a prominent Soviet politician. He was briefly head of state of the new republic in 1917, and from 1923-24 the acting Premier in the last year of Lenin's life.

All four first chiefs of Soviet secret police (Cheka, OGPU, NKVD) were Jews.

11 out of 13 GULAG extermination camps commandants were Jews.

The entire Lenin's government members was Jews except for Stalin who was Georgian.

Indeed, Khrushchev and Brezhnev were not Jews. They came to power well after Stalin liquidated almost all Bolsheviks in 1930s during his Great Purges.

Actually it's interesting, most of the regulations pointed at hobby drones are aimed at slowing down automated drones, basically requiring they be within view at all times, limiting traveling range, and requiring manual overrides.

The hobby side is developed enough that there's been successful intercontinental automated flights over the atlantic.

smart commentary in this wee corner of the thread. . .

I too have been surprised that ZH has a majority of posters choosing "sides" and lining up to participate in the voting narrative - but as I continue to read, I've come to realise that for many here, the world revolves around "the market" and the stockpiling of "riches" - or simply the gambling ADDiction - and paying attention to a global chess game being played out over centuries without choosing a side as personal perspective is not really seen as necessary.

this may be because amrka is their birth place, and there is heavy identification with this idea - because the story they've memorised and livesd since birth is "we're #1!!!!" - so habit says this is fate, to identify oneself as owned by a fiction that nationstates are, and many are prepared to go down with the(ir) ship. . .

There is nothing more frustrating than listening to my friends with college degrees recycle nonsense they see/hear in MSM. People that display brilliance in their chosen field fail miserably when it comes to analyzing current events and understanding history. They decry the "Socialist Libs" or the "Greedy Repubs" and continue the charade that is our two party system.

I try to break through the wall of conditioning, but normalcy bias is very strong in many.

Even when I provide facts and references, they fail to see the big picture.

hahah on the "quit peeing in the spring you fucks!" - it's a good larf, but in all honesty, even some of the "older" posters here are incontinent. . .

and with regards your well-educated friends, it is my experience that "college" merely trains one in a way to be employed - sometimes "self" but mostly by an other entity, as an "employee" - this just means their education is in how to be a worker in their chosen field - so it's more insertion of information than critical thinking. . .

once upon a time, an education taught one how to think, now it's how to get a paycheck (or not, as most are learning too).

best wishes.

For what it's worth, some Army reservists in my area are being called up into active duty.  Where there's smoke, there's fire, though I doubt that an Iranian R/C helicopter aka "drone" will play much of a role in the action.

The Iran/ME/Levantine mess has got me to thinking-- how about 'we' (royal, fantasy 'we') invite the Turks to re-establish the Ottoman Empire?  They seemed to do a good job of running the show, until the Brits tore it asunder after WWI.  It was ponderous and inefficient, but there was plenty of peace to be enjoyed.... my other out-of-the-box idea is for the oil-importing countries to buy 1/2 of the Sinai peninsula from Egypt, and set up a "New Palestine", complete with Med-view high rise apartments, solar energy farms, and irrigation-based agriculture, a fresh start for the Palestinian Arabs sans bulldozers and checkpoints.  We need some Toffler-esque thinking over there, fewer wars and massacres... good luck with that, right?

if you listen to him, you'll hear a prequel of the coming agenda, almost prophetic - the words are ideas, and a wishlist, of those who believe they have control of futures. . . maybe they do, who knows - but I'm betting on some wild cards in the coming 6 weeks.

Read something interesting today that is applicable to all of this THEATRE:

The Play

All of humanity, God’s friends and foes alike, act within a carefully orchestrated script written by the earthly playwright named Lucis.  The play is the pinnacle of literary device, employing many elements of a good Shakesperian plot:  love, hate, violence, deception, evil, betrayal, and ultimate surprise.

We are all actors who do not know the final act, or the sub-plots woven by the writer.  Only one scene’s script is doled out at a time, producing for even the actor confusion and wondering as to the role of his fellow thespians.

Imagine, while playing his part in every unfolding scene, the actor realizes he has not the foggiest idea as to who will finally be revealed as the villain.  The plot twists serve to confuse and distort the ultimate agenda and the final act.  As the actor is intimately involved in playing his own part, his emotions and actions are highly controlled by the script and the director.  At some point, he becomes his character. And in this melding of reality and fiction he abandons the need to understand the plot for the sake of wholehearted character immersion.  Instinctively, he even suspects that actually knowing the final outcome could prove to be counterproductive to his authentic performance.

But the actor is also the audience.  In the course of the play, he grows to revere or revile certain other characters.  His actual emotions are invested.  For a short time, he even perceives the theatre as reality.   And all the while, the director sits in cool detachment, marveling at his own skill of creating surprise, tragedy,  and emotional investment of the audience.  He silently analyzes how a scene might be tweaked, how the set might be reoriented, to illicit maximum credence and engagement.  His goal is to build false and leading narratives in order to create the element of surprise in the shocking final act, when all true motives, character, and plots are finally revealed.  The audience gasps in amazement that they have been fooled the whole time.  Their only knowledge of the true plot comes after its ultimate revelation, and they chide themselves for not being able to discern the true nature of the characters.  Then, and only then, are they able to see the thread of evil genius, the art of deception, and the convolution of their minds.  They instruct themselves to be more clever and attentive next time.

The curtain closes, and everyone goes home to reality…..

Or do they?

no attribution for your "Play" but numerous authors have used the metaphor to describe what they've observed.

the clue is indeed to observe, to choose not to believe the "play" or the "characters" - but to watch it unfold - and if you're fortunate enough to have a mind that empathises, use it for both "sides" in the story - identify briefly with all characters, but not "sides" - individuals only.   as for

An Offer You Can't Refuse...

Q–Israel has just initiated a new policy requiring her sub crews to renounce their foreign citizenship. As the article states, there is opposition to this within certain IDF circles as it severely limits those willing to join—WHY is she doing this?

A—The most logical explanation is that the Jewish state wants individuals on her subs who see themselves as Israelis 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and nothing else.

Q—They already DO see themselves like this, so it is a moot point. Why NOW? Israel has had subs for decades but only NOW is requiring something like this for ‘security’ purposes?

A—The most logical explanation is that in the event these subs are ordered to do something against another country deemed an act of war, she wants to make sure there are no lingering ‘loyalties’ to the particular nation being attacked. Dual citizenship means divided loyalties that may result in hesitation when an order is given.

Q—What kind of ‘orders’?

A—Like sinking an American aircraft carrier stationed in the Persian Gulf and killing all 5,000 people onboard in order to blame it on Iran and get a war started.

another excerpt from the above link:

Those having difficulty understanding why Israel would be willing to go to such lengths—threatening America and the West with nuclear war because of their reluctance in attacking Iran—are hobbled in their lack of understanding the mindset of the Jewish state and her long term objectives.

Israel is not worried about ‘Iranian nukes’. What is at stake here is ‘Israel’s destiny’ as discussed time and again by her leaders, both political and religious. Her entire existence is explained and justified by her holy books, principally the Torah, which are VERY CLEAR in their description of what ‘the Jewish State’ is supposed to encompass—everything between the Nile and Euphrates rivers, meaning ALL of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, parts of Egypt and northern Saudi Arabia, and Iraq—almost right up to the Iranian border.

Such biblically-inspired adventurism therefore can only be achieved in the absence of any organized, substantive opposition. The long-sought Zionist goal of pushing out hundreds of millions of Arabs in order to create ‘Eretz Y’Israel’ cannot take place if there is another strongman in the neighborhood, meaning Iran.

Therefore, when Israel talks about the ‘existential threat’ Iran poses to the Jewish state, THIS is what she means—prevention of Israel’s borders as described in the bible. Therefore, she considers anything hindering the realization of her own ‘divine destiny’ as nothing short of an apocalypse in its own right and therefore warranting such coercive action as threatening nuclear war against countries such as America and Europe either standing in her way or otherwise not cooperating.

In short, this was no ‘human interest’ piece coming out of one of Israel’s biggest news sources. It was not ‘filler’ on a ‘slow news day’. Israel knows all too well that the intelligence agencies of every government on the planet use foreign media as the first source in acquiring intelligence forecasts and for that reason, decided to use this as the vehicle for conveying this threat rather than having Netanyahu call the American President and tell him in clear language—

sounds interesting, I've read similar in the past, as how the mind is shaped by "culture" is very interesting to me.

The Gnostic story of the Wisdom Goddess, Sophia, is directly counterpoised to the one Christianity and other monotheistic religions teach us. It explains why a species made in the image of the Father God cannot live peacefully on earth.

the "transition from Pagan to Christian" - yes, huge story there, with many opinions, well worth researching. . . I wonder, do you read female authors?  most males don't, but once I realised I was thoughtlessly choosing male authors over females (decades ago this was), I became more aware of my choice of authors, and perspectives.

Riane Eisler has written a few really interesting books, The Chalice and the Blade is one, Sacred Pleasure another.  I also really like the late Leonard Shlain - all of his books are wonderful reads, I like The Alphabet vs. The Goddess, and recommend it often, but really, each of his books are worth your time.

take care!
