Iran Releases Video Of Captured US Drone Plane
Due to our less than formidable Farsi skills, we present the following Iranian video showing the captured downed US drone plane without commentary. And as they reverse engineer our planes, so we reverse engineer their state media released video.

Im not buying this as a 'false flag' either. We're supposed to now get behind invasion of Iran, due to us spying and getting a drone shot down, so now Iran is REALLY in trouble and must die?
Once they plug into it, the evil cousin of Stuxnet will bite. Hell, the GPS unit on that is giving it's location away.
Krugman ordered some E.T.s to jumpstart the economy. Voila, delivered ....
Iraqi butter shipment still missing.
That's not a drone; it's a Roomba with wings.
I like how the one guy is explaining stuff to the other guy like he's an expert on the thing.
It probably crashed because it was toting all those flags. Just like the happy hours ads at the beach.
That's in remarkably good shape for a drone that was shot down and presumably crashed.
So this is what Bernanke uses for his helicopter drops
The remote destruction feature probably cost an extra $20mil per drone. They probably gave up the premium and touring packages which had a Bose sound system, chrome rims and uhhhh, navigation, too.
and dancing suspension system!
Checkmate by Israël. This is a trojan horse, I can tell. Wait till all those Iranians go to sleep.
Its a Transformer, its going to wait until Ma dinna Jacket and his buddies come to see it,then squash the bastards under foot, then fly off home!
Assuming they "captured" it; means it landed on one of their runways by itself.
We can therefor assume it is packed full of surveillance gear, and probably enough explosives to level 6 city blocks.
If they captured it. More likely some student at a university made it as an art project and it's full of chicken wire.
The stealth unmanned aircraft is known as the “Beast of Kandahar".
That looks like some school kid's paper mache project. "THIS IS MY PLANE I BUILTED"
We have satellites that can count the hairs on your chin.
I'm not buying this shit. This thing has no weapons capabilities.
You want to freak them out?
Announce that it isn't ours.
jesus christ people...on the bottom it clearly shows 'made in china'....
It's a Trojan Horse filled with presents from St. Nicholas. Only 16 more days until Christmas. KABOOM!!!!
Looks like they're getting it ready for the Tournament of Roses parade. All they need are a few of their babes walking in front of it waving.
It must have crash landed in marshmellows
sp -10 ... marshmallow. Marshmellow is what you get after a toke and eating smores around the campfire.
"Marshmellow is what you get after a toke and eating smores around the campfire."
That's what I was talking about.
Just put it on and let the Rap music take over the sand niggars! :) Yo! Ok, that was totally non-PC comment...I am sorry.
They should have released this in English, Spanish, or French; Or, at least with subtitles. Audio quality is good, but the video quality sucks. The ragheads should put the drone on auction at Ebay. Highest bidder is only fair.
okay lets be rational: the Chinese had something to do with this. (they took our spy plane in 2000) the ECM necessary to do this is available to them, they promised to start WW3 if we hit Irans nuclear facility. there is no point in blasting this thing out of the sky, that would prove nothing. you can't see the bottom of it, it doesn't take much to bring something like this down, and in any case you want to save the technology.
how much would this compromise US technology? not much probably, but the propaganda value is worth something. and lots of people in the US think the drone war is a questionable way to fight terrorism. 50/50 this makes the MM in the US except as an example of ME propaganda. which says a great deal
They are just going over where they will put the pinstripes and other detail work.
Oh how clever.
It looks like a flying Burka.
Doesn't look real to me. Anyhow, them boys sure wear some high hats over there.

Looks totaly fake
The propaganda will be forthcoming from both sides, US and Iran, both putting its best foot forward: but the obvious truth is that a US spy plane is on the ground on Iranian soil and the world wonders just how it got there…
Washington’s Secret Wars by Philip Giraldi | Antiwar.com | Dec. 8, 2011 (excerpts)
Following the widely reported Iranian government plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington and alarming new reports of civilian deaths in Syria, the White House has issued several findings to the intelligence community authorizing stepped-up covert action against both Damascus and Tehran. A “finding” is top-level approval for secret operations considered to be particularly politically sensitive. Taken together, the recent findings, combined with the evidence of major intelligence operations being run in Lebanon, amount to a secret war against Iran and its allies in the Mideast.
Since 2008 the United States has regarded the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. This enables the Department of the Treasury to freeze its business interests and bank accounts. But it has also permitted aggressive steps against the group itself, including killing its members under the White House doctrine that all terrorists are potential targets anywhere in the world. A finding approved by the Bush administration in 2003 and strengthened in 2006 on the pretext that Iran was “interfering” in Iraq and Afghanistan authorized the use of intelligence assets to disrupt Iranian Revolutionary Guard activity in border zones. These included areas adjacent to Pakistan inhabited by ethnic Baluchs, the Kurdish region of northern Iraq, and the ethnically Arab province of Khuzestan, which borders southeastern Iraq...
A separate finding on Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program was signed in 2007 by President Bush. It authorized attacks against Iranian nuclear scientists and other facilities in Tehran and elsewhere as well as coordination with the Israelis to develop computer viruses to disrupt the Iranian computer network, a program that led to the production of the Stuxnet worm. While the media credits “the Israelis” in the assassinations of Iranian scientists, the reality is that no Israeli (or American) intelligence officer could possibly operate effectively inside Iran to carry out a killing. The assassinations, which are acts of war, have actually been carried out by followers of the dissident Iranian Mujahedin e-Khalq (MEK), the separatist Baluch Jundallah, and the Kurdish PJAK, all acting under direction from American and Israeli intelligence officers. The MEK’s role in doing the CIA’s and Mossad’s dirty work is one reason so many neoconservatives and national security experts have been calling for the group to be removed from the U.S. terrorist group list…
You reap what you sow when you begin to interfere with countries that you do not understand in parts of the world where relationships and ways of thought are quite different. Everyone loses in the White House’s secret wars.

Great link and post -- thanks!
FINALLY a sensible comment! Thanks. I beginning to wonder where all the junior-high jingoists came from. Thought this was Zero Hedge....
I wonder if they found the secert Spy-cam yet .......
AWW come on Akma Dini Din Din take off the plywood panties and show me the naughty bits!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who the F cares to see the landing gear wheel humps and jet intake. Show me her pretty little bottom bits. please.
I wana know if she is pakcing heat or is she just a peeping tom tom.
Not a scratch on it. Your vanishing dedectible is still intact.
Not really a bad day -- when you consider.
I hate to be the drone pilot in charge of that one.
Technology transfer.
Those baseball caps the dudes are wearing are from the NRA.
Clearly they are hiding the undercarriage, either because the craft is fake or because it landed without deployment of the wheels. But other than a small fist sized dent on the leading edge of the left wing what they show is undamaged, so, if real that can only mean it was not shot down nor did it crash. That in turn means they had control of it even if they did not have the technical codes for operating the landing gear, or just the skill to use it. That in turn means it could very well have been just about anywhere when they took control and was 99% certain to have been in Afghan airspace when they stole it.
I wonder if they had considered that this could be the straw that breaks the camel's back pushing the west into real confrontation? Or, do you think we will sit around for a few more years while they and their Chinese opportunist friends develop countermeasures to our technology?
God I hope so.
Clearly, this is one case where off-shoring the software development to China did not pay off.
Wow you can really spin a yarn ... can you please make us all Zerohedge sweaters for Christmas?
Hey Pete, just speculating like every single other poster here, unless you have some sort of security clearance and KNOW the truth behind all these reports that we somehow do not.
It also means
If it isn't a fake I'd expect the rest of the drones to be grounded until they figure out how this one was captured.
Yes, considering the Stuxnet and other viruses (we?) planted on them and now their assumed capability to hijack control of our technology it all seems to add up to a pretty hot cyber war doesn't it?
But, I am thinking we cannot be getting told all the gory details either way, was it a plant? With implanted false technology to lead them in blind ally directions while they and their masters in Moscow and Beijing reverse engineer the chips and software? Or, a Trojan horse? In order to examine the soft and hardware on that drone they have to interface with it electronically, is that how they got infected with other computer dirt?
If it was a bona fide loss how bad was it? I am thinking they will never tell us the truth. But no matter what else the incident shows the hostility is a two way street. And for those that think Iran is so adorable like a little lost kitten I say fuck it, why don't you go and live there? Or maybe you already do eh?
Did anyone see that red eye move right to left in the cockpit area? Holy BattleStar Galactica baby... Those iranians shot down a cylon...
More like KITT's cousin
"Yah, Comrade, we snuck up on it when it was having sex with a camel...."
We let that one get shot down to throw off the Chinese.
The wings are made of Chinese drywall just to piss off the Chinese military.
But there was no mold or mildew dude. Maybe they painted over it with melamine laced baby formula which is pretty white like that drone?
We'll launch an "accidental" cruise missle as soon as we determine the location of the Chinese embassy where this video was produced for public consumption.
It doesnt look like it wasnt shot down? If so, it would have been destroyed?
Rumour has it that the drone was actually brought down by electronic warfare, ie it was hijacked.
Or beamed hard enough to burn circuits or interrupt commands. Many, many moons ago our twidgits used to brag about being able to microwave seagulls. I'd say it's safe to assume that electronics have only gotten more powerful and nastier.
So, is it on like Donkey Kong?
Drones are OK for spying, but I think they shouldn't be used as a weapon. It's immoral, unethical and impersonal (no way to trace who's controlling them). It's anonymous, risk free killing. Just think when enemies of the United States all have them. These things could end up flying over your neighborhood, controlled by an operator in any of the various 130+ countries our military is occupying. Another reason to bring our troops home.
Remember back a few weeks, when someone was monitoring Drone communications and taking control sometimes?
See what's possible?
That one man's beard is worthy of an Oscar. It gave a stunning performance. Does anyone know why they were standing in front of an old prop from the 2005 movie Stealth?
Meh....
It's been LONG known how to desgin airframes to be stealthy. This is just Mini-Me's B2 bomber.
It's the material sciences used that would be a concern, but even there the Russians and even the Chinease know a good bit about those...especially the Russians who even use active stealth (plasma cloaked fighter jets) see here......http://www.military-heat.com/43/russian-plasma-stealth-fighters/
Also of concern would be the electronics and in particular communications.
But this isn't earth shattering.
betcha some background checks being updated on techies who let this thing ditch.
Wait till they plug their computers into the USB port on the thing.
They must have used a tractor beam to slowly bring it down to the ground. Nice toy though, making USA safer by spying on the goat herders in afganistan, iraq, Iran, Syria....
yeah man, it's bogus 'cause they're like totally peaceful peoples.
How many times did they invade USA?
Back at CIA HQ:
"..ok, the trojan drone is in place.
Release the mini spy probes;
Relelase the viral agents;
Turn on the Wi-Fi, and send out the trojan software;
Wait 12 hours and set off the tactical nuke.
Where do you want to eat lunch, Bob? ..."
I suspect the reason they are hiding the undercarriage of the drone is because there isn't one. IF they constructed a full-sized mock-up from photos to use as a mast-mounted, in-flight radar cross section test target, they wouldn't need to mock-up the landing gear because the mock-up of an in-flight drone would have had the gear UP. The yellow color is wrong and the sealant/tape at the wing joints is very sloppily done.
This might be a modified RQ-170 prototype that was being flown operationally which would more easily explain a malfunction, but they won't convince me until I see internal components, especially the turbine and electronics, and show me the undercarriage.
Pretty soon one of those Iranian officers will be using it as an awning over his patio.
Is that thing real? Quite big actually. tought these things where much much smaller.
Thing looks like it's made from Plastic. Any more images?
I wonder where the numbnuts that was flying the drone is working today...someplace chilly and far away I'll bet.
Yeah, Thule is delightful in December.
The lower ranking lad needs a fitted cap those mesh adjustable ones went out of style around 1982.
Unbelievable screwup. Someone lost the tether? Inexcusable? I think somone needs to explain how in the hell this happened.
If this were truly something that the US Military is worried about, the story wouldn't be showing up on the front page of Fox News. I'd bet my life savings that its one of the following three options:
1) More Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran Propaganda designed to sell a war.
2) A decoy to throw the Iranians off so they can't intercept the drones when they fly in with bombs instead of cameras.
3) the pretext to a false flag attack to be blamed on Iran. (They stole our technology and used it against us blah blah blah)
Bingo. Probably a bit of all three..
Would it be possible to build these things out of that self-destruct tape from Mission: Impossible?
Operator DEFCON Charlie
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=web+link+to+sleeping+computer+operator&um...
this might be a USA fake tape because that plane (I know people in this industry) and they say that is the radar test version of the plane and the uniforms are not quite correct either - the caps....
That thing does not have a scratch on it. How can an airplane fail and then make a perfect lending? This won't be your grandmas war my friend. Someone, Russia or China hacked into that drone and landed at will themselves.
It may have some really good programming to bring it down on a suitable road or runway in the event of loss of contact with its controller. And its self-destruct may require receipt of a positive command rather than being a fail-safe.
And if that's the case we now know how penny wise and pound foolish that was.
There was a fist sized dent on the leading edge of the left wing. I can see them being able to get flight control with rudder and speed yet not have the right commands for landing gear, if so it would land with wheels up and the underside would look pretty rough. Maybe that is why they concealed the underside? Because it had no gear or was not damaged, because it is a fake. Well, we are all just guessing on that score, there is the admission by the Pentagon that we have a missing drone. But, for all we know they did hijack one and smacked it into a mountain, turned it into so much junk in pieces the size of rice grains. But, they would not want the Pentagon to know that so they would phony up a prop and use just bad enough video technique and camera angles/lighting to try to deceive us. Won't work if it is fake though.
And I am also thinking that we have spy satellites that can read the VIN number from your dashboard in a hurricane so the brass in DC already knows pretty much where and what is going on with it. Tensions are high enough that there is continual survailence you can bet on that.
Like some here that think our carrier groups are so out of date and vulnerable to submarine attack. You are wrong if that is what you think, the seas are totally transparent to our technology (Boeing P8A Poseidon sub H/K) we can see subs as clearly as if they were floating in the air, and we can hear them and identify them by sound signature planetwide. That is not even secret but in the public domain, the stuff that is still secret would utterly blow your mind.
This is all overblown, Iran getting this drone is about as bad as a caveman finding a wristwatch.
Faker drone. Now the State Dept. has grounds for an invasion. False Flag.....
The top US scientist is probably Iranian ...
In August 2010 the head of Iran's military drone program was killed by a bomb.
To have our most advanced drone fall into their hands intact seems like karma to me.
Iranians deserve better than a repressive theocracy. They also deserve better than to have Israel and the West and Russia meddle until they suffer a bloodbath.
If there could possibly, somehow be a long period of time during which they were not caught in a tug-of-war it would be a major blessing for them.
So here is what I don't get and why I suspect that this may be a balsa wood imposter
Unless that plane was landed, why is it in such good shape? If it crashed due to mechanical difficulty it still should have some damage to it.
If it was shot down, it would be in even worse shape
Something is rotten in Denmark

This isn't the first time a US spy drone has been intercepted.
The Iraqi Resistance has been using 26 USD software to hack into drones for a long time.
Title: Insurgents [sic] Hack U.S. Drones
Source: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB126102247889095011.html
So if a resistance movement with modest means can do it, so can a government (which has good relations with China, Russia and a few other countries).
In the great scheme of things, all these skirmishes are irrelevant to you. I think you should be more concerned with the NDAA rather than whether this drone was a highschool art project or not. Believe me when I tell you this, in the near future, this will be so irrelevant. This is not *your* war and if this was a devastating blow to the NWO forces or not is totally irrelevant to you and me.
The biggest threat facing you is right here, at home. Not in some distant country.
That's not true if you or soeone you know/love/etc. is in the military, because they are in a distant country too.
Dude, it's a hell of a long way from intercepting a signal to transmitting one to control the aircraft, especially while in flight. It never happened.
You do realize that the whole thrust of my argument was pointing out that whether this was legitimate or not is absolutely irrelevant.
Uh, that would be that last half of your argument, which is also specious.
My argument was simple. People with modest means have attempted so it wouldn't be surprising that a government with more sophisticated hardware would attempt it.
Whether they were successful or not isn't going to change the NDAA or improve the economy. If you interpreted that as me insinuating the Persians could pull it off then you're stifling the debate and changing the subject.
I have no interest in whether a drone was intercepted or not.
The Persians can barely run a falafel stand.
I just wanted to point out that I did not mark your post down. You are entitled to your opinion.
Also, I'd like to thank you for sharing your opinion with me.
Have a nice evening!
It does not actually have to have happened that way, the drone is designed to fly flat and level and search for a landing site autonomously before running out of fuel if it loses contact with the ground station, all the Iranians had to do was jam the signal from the satellite the controllers use. But the skunk works people are pretty darned sharp, loss of control almost has to mean secrets were sold to the Iranians because they do not have the ability to do this otherwise. Or they had help from a certain communist or former communist buddy that loves to see the US humiliated.
The RQ-170 was deployed in Pakistan during the maraud on Osama bin Laden's compound in May 2011. Live coverage of the raid was broadcasted to the US President Barrack Obama by the vehicle. www.airforce-technology.com/projects/rq-170-sentinel/
If that's the story I'm familiar with then the insurgents didn't hack into it. The drone was transmitting it's video stream unencrypted, so in other words you're grandmother's router had more security. That was more about a military fuck up than insurgent ingenuity.
I wasn't praising or disparaging any party involved in this incident (or in the article I referred to). I'm no longer emotionally attached to any side of this struggle because the 99% (of the world) are on the losing side right now. It's quite sad that the level of realization of this simple unfortunate reality is so diverse among the different groups in the 99%.
Ultimately, it doesn't make a difference to me (or you) who "won". There are at least three parties that are going to be affected by this incident:
Depending on what *really* happened, some of the parties above are going to get a pat on the back, while the others are going to be castigated. It doesn't matter to me what fate falls on what party because the NDAA is not going to change and the economy is not going to get better.
It's nice to talk about which football team was better and so on, but this isn't a football match, whatever happened on that border will be interpreted as a serious escalation by all parties involved. If this leads to a third world war then we all lose.
It is unfortunate that people are more concerned about who "won" this skirmish rather than what the consequences of this stand-off are.
I think it is time to stop thinking in terms of these archaic paradigms of "good vs evil". It is time to think in terms of "destructive vs constructive".
As no one has mentioned what the possible benefits a third world war would bring to the 99%, I hope, we can conclude that it won't bring any. I would hope that on further consideration of the points raised in this sub-thread, people would begin to engage the clear and present danger coming their way, right here on our home turf.
It is safe to say, the key word in a situation like this is "priorities".
I'd like to thank all that participated in my little sub-thread.
Regards,
Yousif
Have you all forgotten or maybe you did not see it for yourself like I did.... the submarine launched missile off the coast of Los Angeles in 2010? Funny... they tried to say it was a contrail, just like the "contrails" being sprayed everyday in our skies.
The Chinese are more advanced and capable that anyone might think. They may make junk, but all it really takes is for a single unit, or company to focus on quality and precision and you have yourself some a grade military hardware.
That missle launch was real and brought it home to me... we are on the eve of WWIII.
The US has to pack one of those with the highest intensity non-nuclear explosive possible, let it get captured and then pull a Taliban.
That older Dude with the Forest Gump ball cap standing beside the plane.... I didn't know Andrea Bocelli was Iranian...
Chinese military technicians looking it over as well. A tech-fest for the Persians. Maybe they will have a copy of it in a year or 2.
The Chinese can make thousands of these for Iran.
Maybe the Chinese will sell a version for the RC people over here in the US for cheap.
Maybe we're printing up a few Billion worth of T-bills to give to China so they can purchase this thing back for us.

You gotta love the guy sportin' the flat bill. I bet he's a real east side baller from wayback. I was waiting for him to grab his crotch and scream "Oh Yeah MoFo's!"
I didn't see any markings on that craft that said:"Made in USA" or " Greetings from Barack Obama". How do they know it isn't an Israeli drone?
If the drone wasn't made to self destruct.....then it was allowed to be captured to give false data or maybe if they copy it we will be able to track theirs ! Also, I wonder if they may have captured this in mid flight, by using some small EMP device? You, as a citizen can build or buy (already made ~$10K) for not a whole lot of $$$$ right here in the US. What makes you think they don't have items like that?
You're an idiot and your pic sucks. The Persians can't even get a flying carpet off the ground these days, much less kidnap the controls of a UAV in flight. So brainiac, what's to keep this fly-by-wire craft from plummeting to the ground after the EMP?
Blah, blah, blah... mid air captures are not hard douch... AND Iran is the play ground for the Chinese and Russians... get a clue...

One thing I noticed is no damage to the surface. I think it lost link to control room and landed with out wheel extended out and is standing on wooden stools, which Iranian engineer are hiding with flags and banners. It is hard at this time for Iranian engineers to extend them out.
Iran is hard scrabble country.....did it just happen to find a little patch of sand like "Das Boot" ? Monedas 2011
The Russians and Chinese must be slathering over this. What a collosal disaster. The damn thing is essentially undamaged.
The commentator says that Iranian armed forces took control of the spy-plane by electronic means.
The Iranian Air Force hires hackers, while the US army hires FEMA camp guards.
you have to admit this is pretty funny. That program prolly cost 10 Billion, that plane prolly cost 100 million. State of the art everything and it prolly landed at an Iranian air force base nice and gentle just because of a computer glitch. I wonder if it has an ATM machine in the bom bay? Or, was the bomb bay stuffed with cash?
So we have the Stennis, the Bush, and the Peleliu in the region, we see last week the Carl Vinson leaving San Diego for the ME as well as the Makin Island headed that direction, we have the Essex near the Philippeans, and the Abraham Lincoln sailed from Bremerton for the middle east yesterday. I have been checking on the others which are in port, no news on the Reagan, the Nimitz, or the Eisenhower, but I see this about the Enterprise and frankly I am getting really nervous about it all:
Enterprise Gets Back in the Fight
USS ENTERPRISE, At Sea -- Sailors assigned to aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65) departed Naval Station Norfolk Dec. 5 for the first phase of preparations for the ship's 22nd and final deployment.
Twenty second and final deployment, ominous eh? http://www.military.com/news/article/navy-news/enterprise-gets-back-in-the-fight.html
Just a few days ago remember I said if we see any other carrier or big-deck amphibs leave port it will be time to really worry. The Stennis, Bush, Vinson, Lincoln and now Enterprise? Five carrier groups? Not to mention the flat top amphibs which are as big as and can act as carriers.
Arguments about the drone may well be academic soon.
By the way, while researching some of this I came across a story that said a couple of days after we lost that stealth helicopter in the bin Laden raid the USA sent in strike fighters to destroy the remaining top secret parts on the ground, which would mean there is very little to nothing left of the laden compound than a smoking crater. No wonder Paki got pissed off and closed the border. Which by the way is still closed and I read today that 20 fuel tanker trucks were torched.
This is the first I heard of it. Gee, I hope no Pakis guarding the wreckage were killed, or Chinese intelligence combing through the parts.
This is getting out of control.
the Vinson was delayed a day leaving port because of fog (not), but was probably getting a last minute refit of armaments and such. some of that stuff they do not like to transfer at sea...
ENTERPRISE?
THe one with so many reactors and the big box island?
That eNTERPRISE?
I gotta brush up, some of those carriers are older than me or nearly so..
for whats its worth the media did run with this as a headline, and US officials wiping egg off their mugs. one expert asserts that Iran cannot reverse engineer certain proprietary uses and functions. (that Iranian engineers are like a bunch of monkeys in an expensive sports car) of course some other people may get a look too. and while this is embarrassing its not game changing. got mandarin?
