Iranian Clerics Call For Attacks And Suicide Bombings On Global Saudi Interests

Tyler Durden's picture

While it is unclear if the news reported by Shia-News, and amplified by Bahrain News, is in retaliation for the recent deterioration in Iran-US relations following an allegation that Iran sought to assassinate diplomats and blow up embassies in the US using Mexican hitmen, or if this is what led to it, it appears that Iran is playing hard ball. As Bahrain News reports, referencing a new posting in Shia-News, "The Iranian leaders, furious over the Saudi intervention in Bahrain and what they call crimes against the Shiites of that country, have openly created centers to recruit volunteers for suicide bombings against Saudi Arabia’s interests worldwide. Several grand ayatollahs in Iran have issued a fatwa for Muslims to come to the aid of their Shiite brothers in Bahrain, who they claim are suffering horrific crimes from their government in collaboration with the Saudi armed forces. They further emphasized that the people of Bahrain have every right to demand freedom and their fair share from the state. Shia-News, a site associated with Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi (a hard-line Shiite Twelver and an influential figure in the suppression of Iranians during their uprising to protest the fraudulent presidential election of 2009), is registering volunteers to participate in suicide bombings against Saudi interests around the world. Hundreds have already registered. Reports from inside Iran indicate that an alert has gone out to the Revolutionary Guards Quds forces throughout the world to prepare for attacks on Saudi establishments."

The original referenece is the following (from Shia News)

The translated text of "Shia-News" Web Site is as below:

In The Name of the Lord of Shohada and Siddiqin

When the Holly Prophet (saww) said: "I listen and lounge Rjla Ynady or Llmslymn Yjbh Bmslm Flys" (If somebody calls for help and a Muslim hear him and do not help, he is not a Muslim), he was looking at the whole world of the humanity, not just where he lived. He didn't mean a Muslim is one who just say I am a Muslim, pray five times a day or go to Mecca to perform Hajj. If we consider that the Holly Prophet (saww) is innocent and sinless and never talk nonsense (it is what all Muslim believe in), so we must come to see it is the will of Allah for all Muslims not to be apathetic to what is happening to the people who asked for help and must help them in all conditions and with all the available sources.

To make it short, it is time to show the supporters of international terrorism, whose hands are colored by the blood of innocents, specially the Shias, that they can't do whatever they desire and there are some fearless youth who don't care what is fear.

"Shia News" has the honor of registering the brave youth and freedom seekers of the world who have the desire to help the oppressed people of Bahrain. The youth by the discretion of Grand Ayatollahs and authorities give a lesson to the aggressors to be record in the history.

For now we are looking to find additional information and confirmation on what could be an escalation to the worst US-Iranian relations in years.

In the meantime, the distinguished president continues on his rhetoric quest, saying Iran will face the toughest possible sanctions:

President Barack Obama warned Iran on Thursday it would face the toughest possible sanctions for an alleged plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to Washington, as officials eyed action against its central bank.

Saudi Arabia on Thursday accused Iran of fomenting instability but pledged a "measured response" over the alleged plot that has heightened tensions between OPEC's two top oil producers.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said, on a visit to Austria, that the evidence showed "Iran is responsible" for the alleged plot and said Tehran had tried to "meddle" in the affairs of Arab states before.

In Washington, Obama told a news conference that the United States would not take any options off the table in dealing with Iran, a phrase U.S. officials regularly use toward Tehran that is diplomatic code for the possibility of military action.

"This is part of a pattern of dangerous and reckless behavior by the Iranian government," Obama said in his first public comments on the affair.

U.S. authorities on Tuesday said they had broken up a plot by two men linked to Iran's security agencies to assassinate Saudi Ambassador Adel al-Jubeir. One was arrested last month while the other was believed to be in Iran.

Iran called the accusations a fabrication designed to hurt its relations with its neighbors.

On October 26, 2005, IRIB News, an English-language subsidiary of the state-controlled Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, filed a story on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's recent speech to the "World Without Zionism" conference in Asia. The story was entitled:Ahmadinejad: Israel must be wiped off the map.[1] The story was picked up by Western news agencies and quickly made headlines around the world.
...

Many news sources repeated the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) statement that Ahmadinejad had demanded that "Israel must be wiped off the map",[5][6] an English idiom which means to "cause a place to stop existing",[7] or to "obliterate totally",[8] or "destroy completely".[9]

Ahmadinejad's phrase was " ???? ?? ???? ?????? ??? ??? " according to the text published on the President's Office's website, and was a quote of Ayatollah Khomeini.[10]

The translation presented by IRIB has been challenged by Arash Norouzi, who says the statement "wiped off the map" was never made and that Ahmadinejad did not refer to the nation or land mass of Israel, but to the "regime occupying Jerusalem". He says that the Iranian government News Agency IRIB/IRNA translation is the source of the confusion:

One may wonder: where did this false interpretation originate? Who is responsible for the translation that has sparked such worldwide controversy? The answer is surprising. The inflammatory 'wiped off the map' quote was first disseminated not byIran's enemies, but by Iran itself. The Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran's official propaganda arm, used this phrasing in the English version of some of their news releases covering the World Without Zionism conference. International media including the BBC, Al Jazeera, Time magazine and countless others picked up the IRNA quote and made headlines out of it without verifying its accuracy, and rarely referring to the source. Iran's Foreign Minister soon attempted to clarify the statement, but the quote had a life of its own. Though the IRNA wording was inaccurate and misleading, the media assumed it was true, and besides, it made great copy.[11][12]

According to Juan Cole, a University of Michigan Professor of Modern Middle East and South Asian History, Ahmadinejad's statement should be translated as:

The Imam said that this regime occupying Jerusalem (een rezhim-e eshghalgar-e qods) must [vanish from] the page of time(bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad).[13]

The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) translates the phrase similarly, as "be eliminated from the pages of history."[14]

According to Cole, "Ahmadinejad did not say he was going to 'wipe Israel off the map' because no such idiom exists in Persian". Instead, "He did say he hoped its regime, i.e., a Jewish-Zionist state occupying Jerusalem, would collapse."[15]

On June 2, 2006 The Guardian columnist and foreign correspondent Jonathan Steele published an article based on this line of reasoning.[16]

Sources within the Iranian government have also denied that Ahmadinejad issued any sort of threat.[17][18][19] On 20 February 2006, Iran's foreign minister denied that Tehran wanted to see Israel "wiped off the map," saying Ahmadinejad had been misunderstood. "Nobody can remove a country from the map. This is a misunderstanding in Europe of what our president mentioned," Manouchehr Mottaki told a news conference, speaking in English, after addressing the European Parliament. "How is it possible to remove a country from the map? He is talking about the regime. We do not recognize legally this regime," he said.[20][21][22]

Shiraz Dossa, a professor of Political Science at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova ScotiaCanada who presented a paper at theInternational Conference to Review the Global Vision of the Holocaust conference in Iran, believes the text is a mistranslation.[23]

Ahmadinejad was quoting the Ayatollah Khomeini in the specific speech under discussion: what he said was that "the occupation regime over Jerusalem should vanish from the page of time." No state action is envisaged in this lament; it denotes a spiritual wish, whereas the erroneous translation—"wipe Israel off the map"—suggests a military threat. There is a huge chasm between the correct and the incorrect translations. The notion that Iran can "wipe out" U.S.-backed, nuclear-armed Israel is ludicrous.[24][25][26]

In a June 11, 2006 analysis of the translation controversy, New York Times deputy foreign editor and Israeli resident Ethan Bronner argued that Ahmadinejad had called for Israel to be wiped off the map. After noting the objections of critics such as Cole and Steele, Bronner stated:

But translators in Tehran who work for the president's office and the foreign ministry disagree with them. All official translations of Mr. Ahmadinejad's statement, including a description of it on his website, refer to wiping Israel away. Sohrab Mahdavi, one of Iran’s most prominent translators, and Siamak Namazi, managing director of a Tehran consulting firm, who is bilingual, both say “wipe off” or “wipe away” is more accurate than "vanish" because the Persian verb is active and transitive.

Bronner continued: "..it is hard to argue that, from Israel's point of view, Mr. Ahmadinejad poses no threat. Still, it is true that he has never specifically threatened war against Israel. So did Iran's president call for Israel to be 'wiped off the map'? It certainly seems so. Did that amount to a call for war? That remains an open question."[15] This elicited a further response from Jonathan Steele, who took issue with the use of the word "map" instead of the phrase "wipe out" and criticized this Wikipedia entry (as it was on June 14, 2006) for misrepresenting Ethan Bronner.[27]

pretty sure it's safe to say an Israeli/ US/ NATO attack on Iran is imminent at this point. it is after all the brass ring of globalist foreign policy and has been for a while now. the question is will it stay local like Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan or will other interested parties finally say "enough is enough" and get involved directly or indirectly in a substantial way turning it into a wider regional or even global conflict. the MENA region has been a powder keg waiting to go off, and it seems it me the psychopaths in charge are just itching to get a lot of people killed.

If  WW3 is in the pipeline it will defiantly start in the middle east where there are lots of conflicting interests competing for it's wealth of black gold.

that and a shitload of military assets all focused on a relatively small area.

I know the question has been worn out of late, but you've got to ask what could possibly go wrong?

The US govt is such an honest and creditable party and source for truthful meaningful info and intel LOL.

There's a similar false flag script playing out with Pakistan.

All the threats the U.S. shills are giving to Pakistan over 'Haqqani', Osama bin Laden 'killed' there, CIA agent arrested dropping off nuclear secrets, etc etc.

The Syria false flag script isn't anything special really, just a rinse and repeat of Libya - engineer Arab uprising, claim atrocities are being committed, 'humanitarian' intervention.

The starting of the war is being worked out with all 100 senators and the MSM, at last check they were thinking 7:00 pm central time on 10/13/11 the war is going to be sponsored by General Electric, FOX, CNN, MSNBC, and ABC are in a bidding war at this time for the exclusive breaking news rights...an event that will dwarf the coming 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Iran letter to UN: "...express our outrage regarding the allegations leveled by the United States officials against the Islamic Rep.of Iran"
"The US allegation is, obviously, a politically-motivated move ...its long-standing animosity towards the Iranian nation"
"..dangerous consequences of warmongering policies of the United States Government on international peace and security."

On the other side...

"Obama Predicts Other Middle Eastern Countries Will Punish Iran"

"Pelosi says US & allies will take further steps against Iran"

What's even more horse-shitty is that the hypocritical context is fabricated. So, elements in govt expect the American people to support this hypocrisy based on crap they concoct. Really shows the great respect the ruling elites have for the American people.

There have been so many warmongers in DC, it seems they are so determined to take over the world and use the flimsiest pretenses to do it.

Killing people around the world in their own countries is the new normal of the USSA way. Both the MIC and BANKSTERS do love it as well.

All good people place their trust only in those who have earned that trust. A government that came up with the NORTHWOODS PLAN, THE TUSKEGEE EXPERIMENT, and the GULF OF TONKIN HOAX is capable of ANYthing, even the most horrific crimes imaginable!!!

Dunno when it started, but the American people have become the boogie man.

What's really odd is the precarious condition of the USA own economy seems not to matter to these criminals in charge.

The Powers That Be have lost control over an unwieldy and increasingly distrustful population, and tremble in fear of the 99%. Staging WW3 can be their extermination plan.

"The point is that the Iran, Syria and Pakistan false flag scripts are converging at the same time.

*Yet the USA don't have the money, manpower, or will for three more foreign wars.*

Therefore it's important to understand...

USA would never accept 3 more simultaneous wars and are not capable of fighting them.

This is the script for nuclear strikes against the Middle East.

What would allow the elite to justify nuclear strikes on foreign countries?

There's your false flag."

Obama could just claim that Pakistani weapons were given to terror group X and it was facilitated by Iran/Syria. If the banksters figure Obama is going to lose the next election anyway they might as well use him to launch the nuclear attack.

while I tend to agree that this is an almighty "set up" from a ruling class determined to take the world to war, come HELL or high water, this made me cringe a bit:

Killing people around the world in their own countries is the new normal of the USSA way.

amrka began with killing people in their own nation, and has been doing the same ever since, all in the name of profit, monies, power over, theft - it's what amrka DOES. . .

I doubt a majority will ever wake up to this truth, that the nationstate they wave a flag over is so drenched in the blood of humanity, and so those who write the narratives and pull the strings will continue on with their murderous plundering.

This is the script for nuclear strikes against the Middle East.

You're assessment is correct, I think. See my comment above, as it also implies a US nuclear attack would become necessary, and unavoidable, simply to break the oil cut-off stalemate that would result from an unmanagable number of diverse sea mine types being deployed, and diverse mobile antiship missile types, and a very LARGE and extremely pissed-off and very commited 'enemy', who will fully appreciate this is a fight to the death.  The White House seems to be thinking it can leverage the political schizms in Iran, like in Syria, and Libya, but I doubt that will work, the nationalism is too strong and broad.

BTW:  It'll be that evil little two-faced uber cunt Sec-Gen Ban Ki Moon and the Nobel Peace Prize in Chief that 'saves' civilization itself via a series of nuclear strikes against the axis of all evils. Ever noticed how the UN rubber-stamped all of these warz? Even though its primary and only real reason to exist came directly from the "NEVER AGAIN ... THIS MUST NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN" popular sentiment that was everywhere at the end of WWII ... and after seeing Hiroshima and Nagasaki ...

This is what the United Nations is supposed to prevent from ever occurring.

So what exacty is Mr. Ban Ki Moon's function and purpose then, given it seems to have very little to do with what the UN is supposed to be all about?

As Max Keiser recently said, "We already have the death penalty, we just need to use it on the true global criminals and financial terrorists." (paraphrased)

Surely you jest.  It is Israel's Netanyahu who is engaged in aggression, shedding the blood of innocents and raising false flags, to prevent peace in Palestine and the Middle East, to thwart a Palestinian state for Palestinians displaced from their homeland. It is no secret Netanyahu and the Israeli Lobby also occupy Washington, DC.  Asia Times’ roving reporter, Pepe Esobar whose lastest book is Obama Does Globalistan, asked yesterday on Aljazeera regarding the Obama Solyndra star and AG Eric Holder's characterization of the Arbabsiar affair as a $1.5m ‘murder-for-hire’ plan: “So why now? Holder is caught in yet another scandal - on whether he told lies regarding Operation Fast and Furious (no, you can't make this stuff up), a federal gun sting through which scores of US weapons ended up in the hands of - here they come again - Mexican drug cartels.

“So how to bury Fast and Furious, the economic abyss, the 10 years of war in Afghanistan, the increasing allure of Occupy Wall Street - not to mention the Saudi role in smashing the spirit of the Arab Spring? By uncovering a good ol' al-Qaeda style plot on US soil, on top of it conducted by ‘evil’ Iran. Al-Qaeda and Tehran sharing top billing; not even Cheney and Rumsfeld in their heyday could come up with something like this. Long live GWOT (the global war on terror). And long live the neo-con spirit; remember, real men go to Tehran - and the road starts now.

Only impeachment will stop Obama, a Castro clone on American soil acting as judge, jury and executioner throughout the world as a hired assassin for Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu. The Bush and Obama team have delivered for this world criminal concentration camps, torture, unmanned death drones, secret prisons scattered around the world, hired armies of mercenaries, and war after undeclared war....

Justin Raimondo of Antiwar.com asks: “Are we really willing – and able – to ensure the survival of a settler colony which has implanted itself like a tick in the midst of the Arab world, and not only that but expanded in size and aggressiveness over the years – to the point where it has become a giant irritation, glistening with the infection of hate and ready to erupt at any moment?”

Only impeachment of Obama, i.e., Netanyahu, can begin to recover any fragment of America’s moral heritage.

Seems like a convenient excuse to invoke emergency powers and render the "defense cuts" that had been "on the table" as part of the supercommittee budget negotiation, off the table.  Because frankly, budget cuts are un-american, at least when they affect favored corps.  Also, we'll have to issue a metric fuckton of new treasuries to pay for this shit, which of course will have to be purchased by the Fed, effectively putting devaluation into overdrive.  Strong dollar = big no-no, and with the Euro on life support, drastic measures are basically an inevitability.

Yeah, I guess in the absence of peacetime support from the plebs re: devaluation, this is really the only option.  Pretty sad state of affairs.

Here is how I see it:

1. Saudis considering dumping US dollars for gold and closer ties to other countries.  Additionally, Iran wishes to create an oil bourse that does not trade in dollars.

2. US therefore concocts a threat against Saudis that only the US can protect them from, similar to what we did with Saddam.  This way, Saudis stay loyal, use the US dollar, and as a kicker we can sell them US-made weapons.  As a bonus, it makes Iran look like jackasses on the world stage, since killing a diplomat is a huge "no-no".

3. If Iran and Saudis fight, US gets opportunity to destroy a major threat to dollar hegemonym (Iran), while keeping a major oil producer and Treasury customer loyal without a choice (Saudis).

“Put none but Americans on guard tonight, ” warned General Washington that night he planned to cross the Delaware.

But what about Americans like Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton?  Would George Washington leave them on guard when their first thought is to protect the interests of a foreign power…the state of Israel…in seizing on this obviously manufactured event?

As the great Antiwar.com columnist, Justin Raimondo has declared: “Fake, fake, fake.”

From Raimondo:

This fabrication marks a new trend in the field of anti-Iranian war propaganda. Previously, the War Party was relying on the same technique they used in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq: the old “weapons of mass destruction” gambit. The big problem with that is it’s old, and tired: no one believes it anymore [.pdf]. Once burned, twice shy, as the saying goes. This latest lie is a fresh angle on a continuing theme, merely substituting Iran for the traditional bogeyman known as al-Qaeda.

That this story involves the Mexican drug cartels, and Attorney General Eric Holder proclaiming that we’re going to “hold the Iranian government accountable,” has got to be some kind of sick joke: after all, here is a man who stood by and watched while US law enforcement agents let guns travel over the US border to arm those very same cartels. Is this “coup” for the Justice Department the pay-off for that harebrained scheme – and when is Holder going to be held accountable?

That our government would float a narrative like this without any apparent regard for the basic rules of fiction-writing – create believable characters who do believable things – is Washington’s way of showing contempt for the Iranians, the American people, and anyone else who stands in the way of their war agenda. They don’t care if it’s not believable. They think Americans will swallow anything, that we’re too busy trying to survive day-to-day, these days, to inquire much further than the “official” account. And of course our brain-dead media, which is reduced to a chiefly stenographic role, isn’t going to ask any inconvenient questions.

This story is very scary – not because it’s credible, or believable, because it is neither. However, it’s the most frightening story I’ve heard in quite a while because it shows that the US government is bound and determined to go to war with Iran, no matter what the consequences. Throwing caution to the winds, our rulers have decided to go all out against Tehran – all the better to mask our current economic malaise under the damage done by the tripling and quadrupling of oil prices. This way, Obama can blame our crashing economy on Tehran, rather than his own discredited policies – and sideline the Republicans, who have been criticizing him for being “soft” on Iran.

The making of American foreign policy is all about domestic politics. By preparing the country for war with Iran, Obama will not only defang the GOP, but also appease the all-important Israel lobby, which has been beating the war drums for years. …

Here is where the administration has probably miscalculated: people are just angry enough to wonder “why now?” They’re just broke enough to resent being asked to pay for yet another holy crusade overseas. And they’re just tired enough of the bullsh*t that gets reported as “news” day after day to start asking all kinds of uncomfortable questions about this latest offering by the Washington fable factory.

The Americans are already backing away from the assertion that the Iranian government is directly responsible for the actions of these two individuals, averring that top Iranian officials didn’t “necessarily” know what was going on. As the details of this case become known, Holder’s story is going to start unraveling like a substandard sweater – and you can read all about that unraveling right here, at Antiwar.com….

The world is full of geniuses. That we allow a bunch of goat herders  for all intensive purposes to control the world just because they happen to be on top of oil through no labor of their own is quixotical to say the least. $85 a barrel for something you pump out of the ground? Meanwhile, our pharma companies that invented medications in the US, and manufacture in China, are selling these countries medications for 10% what they sell Americans.

I hate this fucked up world, I really do.

P.S., if anyone happens to have a up to the second 'newsletter' that involves having a radar station in Iraq just monitoring what is going on with air traffic so that when they detect squadrons of fighter/bombers heading toward Iran, we get a 'Buy Now bitchez' text message, let me know.
