Italy's Revenge: VAFFANMERKEL

Tyler Durden's picture

In this bizarro world, in which beggars have practically convinced themselves, and certainly the S&P500, they are now choosers, the latest escalation is actually biting the hand that feeds you. Below is today's front page of Italian Libero. It is self-explanatory.

Just a thought (and one which so many people forget): every action has a bigger (sorry Newton) and opposite reaction. Italy may enjoy its day in the sun, but one day soon the surreal Stockholm syndrome will end. Then it will be the turn of all those 82 million very angry Germans, as we described last year, to have a word or two about their broke neighbors.

i spent a week on a massive us base in germany.funny thing is it is not mentioned on the list below.  as big as a small town it seemed at the time.

a little bit of americana deep within the german volk

cinemas,shopping,bowling,swimming mcdonalds,burger king no starbucks.

the place was where all the dead bodies from all the us wars go.

even today ww1 and ww2  bodies are still taken in

state of the art hospitals, for  life and death.

It's all well and good telling Merkel to fuck off, as she's gone next year, but if you look at what has been agreed, it is full of grand theatre and pretty sparse on substance - la bella figura if you will.

In practice, it will be almost impossible to pull off and Germany, Holland and Finland - the axis of sanity - still hold plenty of cards.

"Libero", one of berlusconi's newspaper, is on an agenda of trying to instigate a bit of anti-EU feelings just to see if that can win berlusconi some votes back (he has lost many). they have a remarkable history of producing spectacular idiocy for perfect idiots.

I guess that's the reason why this idiotic brainless title have found a perfect match here amongst the EU haters happy crowd and idiocy resonates so loud in this sounding board.

this effort in trying to feed the fire is pathetic. there is nothing financial in it. just hatred.

hey ZH, dear lovely Tylers, when will you get it that you're not gonna get your wet dream come true (ie a euro breakup)? you're not any different from the anglosaxon financial MSM from this POV. you all so dream that euro and EU perish. why it is I don't know. but I sense that "fear" is a key word. your only merit is that you show it clear.

the only reason why you chose Merkel as your hero is that you wrongly hope that her stance will give what you desperately want.

you're not gonna get it. the soon you accept it the less you will suffer while watching eurozone advance towards a political union step after step.

Let's dig up that 'european time capsule' and do a little investigative work regarding,'every action has a bigger and opposite reaction', shall we.

Starting with the 14th (~1347) century, bringing the 'old (?) world' the 'Bubonic Plague (Black Death)'! The devastation (every action) and disease that was responsible for wiping out a third of the world's population!

Once the Plague finally diminished ( as all things do by running their course?), and all that could possibly die had died... the great Renaissance began (~14th -17th century), bringing with it unimaginable wealth an opportunity! The world suddenly and serendipitous stumbles upon a cultural/ intellectual and unified zeitgeist resolution to make the best out of a bad situation. Sound familiar?

What happens next is the final-outing of the 'Magna Carta' to enhance a brave new (Mankind's failure to give up, period!) era - this 'neo-multilateral manifesto' once hidden in the archives of the dark-ages, sequestered by the feudalistic rulers, now finds new life and meaning! (new societal constructs?)

Indeed, the (bigger and opposite reaction) world changes overnight, literally,... sailing to all four corners of the globe - and America is born!  Ironically, america turns the old thoughts of feudalism into a democratic republic which the entire world emulates to some degree or other, bringing forth socialism (next stop communism/dictatorship's  and/or totalitarianism?) which goes against the very nature of freedom to choose!

Newton would be proud to have lived in our times to see his, "First Law of Motion" used ceremoniously describing the world's current events. I applaud Tyler for this exchange!

This is just a time capsule that perhaps has nothing really to do about our current situation in finances,... but in a finite world all is relevant... and as Einstein so eloquently postulated, "God doesn't play dice in the world"!  Thus, I can only add that a financial world, or a humanistic world are painted with the same brush of fate... and fate can be a longtime coming if you place hope (the final straw?) upon its back?

    thankyou tyler

In the end we'll see rioting on the streets of Rome and then war because of the belief that one man owes another the means of existence.

Sad what welfare economics and central banking has done to our civilization.

That's right. Make fun of the Germans because they're known for their easy go lucky sense of humour, and they love being made fun of as you ask them for more money.

I can't read Italian, but the picture to me suggests that they get they are just caught in a trap and know they will in the long run be better off without the euro.  It suggests that they know the hand that feeds them is actually the hand that enslaves them, and that doesn't seem bizarre to me.
