It's Official: $16,015,769,788,215.80
A week ago, following the unsettled auction of the just concluded 2 Year bond issue, we calculated that the total US debt just crossed a psychological boundary that it will never cross to the downside ever again. Today, we just got the official confirmation courtesy of all auctions from last week finally settling. Sure enough, as of Friday, the official debt tally is now $16,015,769,788,215.80.
And for those who care about such things, the total debt/GDP is now, assuming the same GDP growth in Q3 as in Q2, at 102%, up from 76.5% when President Obama took office.

I'm not exactly sure how Timmy G has done it but the run rate was coming in at $125B for the past months (meaning this is what would be left before we hit the ceiling) now he has it at $189B for the last two months before the election. $379B left before ceiling hit equals $126B in deficit spending for 3 months.

Which means in November we will run out in which I guess he thinks he will be able to salvage Fed pensions until he can walk out the door in Jan.

If people aren't paying sky-high prices for dotcom stocks with no earnings, they are rushing to loan money to home buyers with no income and 120% LTV ratios.
