Jefferson County Commissioner Says Chapter 9 Vote Chances 50-50 Ahead Of Vote Tomorrow

Tyler Durden's picture

Some headlines to ponder as Jefferson Country's standstill expires tomorrow and the vote on whether to file Chapter 9 finally arrives:

  • JEFFERSON COUNTY CH. 9 VOTE CHANCES `50-50,' COMMISSIONER SAYS
  • ALABAMA COUNTY CONSIDERING BANKRUPTCY VOTE IN MEETING TOMORROW

A bankruptcy filing will certainly be spun as bullish to quite bullish.

Certainly! Just like revolutions and natural disasters. Just ask good ol' Jimbo.

I can't imagine why it would be spun at all. Who actually cares what Jefferson County does? I certainly don't.

I guess the bankers and contractors underestimated we Alabamians sense of curiosity, never thinking we would send one of our own into the bowels of Jefferson County once the work was done. But we did! We sent a good ole boy named Cooter from Sylacauga into that sewer and all he found was shit n iron. travesti

FYI, they flush the same now as before we built the most expensive sewer system in the history of mankind. We were told that for 3.2 billion, they would plate our sewer system with pure gold and our people would be the envy of the world and industry would flock our way. To be continued . . .

As JP hisself once said so eloquently; "And so you have the most expensive gilded shit system for which anyone could have paid.  We have upheld our part of the bargain, sir."

Or something along those lines.

Right! BTFD. And end of any talk of dire need for QE3 at any minute if they can stage 550+ days on the DOW there are no troubles at all. You can buy the dip, go ahead, but I wont touch it when we're likely to be back down -550 by tomorrow.

Pods, I'm pretty sure that flipping a coin for their important decisions would give a higher probability of favorable results than their present/recent decision makers...

No no...all is well the DOW is +550 points I dont want to hear any further talk about bankruptcies or systemic risk or 'QE3' at any minute or any of this crap, its all a rigged game. We're not bankrupt at all, we're just in a constant state of induced panic, worry, and fear and frankly Im sick of it.

Oh and you forgot to mention they are fasting too.  Maybe from the money they save on food they'll fix their budget woes.

Nothin' like some good old down home conversation about somethin' might be considered material, confidential, non-public information.

Yup. and then they found old Elmer 'bout four mile from the Johnson ranch with Lyndon's appendix hangin' outa his mouth, just sittiin' there tryin' a swaller that burbon and branchwater soaked glom o' fat.  Lordie.....

PS Were there any swaps denominated in Swissy with these fucking idiots?

This is largely expected so I do not believe it will be much of an event.  However, that is not to say that as the restructing starts bond holders will see how much they lose and that will send ripples into the muni market.
