Jim Cramer On TurboTax Tim: "If Geithner Gets To Be Treasury Secretary We Are Kaput, We Are Completely And Royally Hosed As A Nation"

Tyler Durden's picture

As if one admittedly market manipulating clown interviewing another admittedly tax challenged clown is not the biggest time waster in the world, here is an actual moment of honesty from at least one of the clowns (the other one should be completely ignored: after all it was him who said that there is no chance the US will be downgraded three months before it was... why anyone listens to this pathologically wrong liar is beyond us). So... without further ado here is Cramer's 2008 rant on Tim Geithner: "If Tim Geithner, the much praised and ballyhooed NY Fed Chairman gets to be Obama's Treasury secretary, and he looks like a shoo in for the job, let me just tell you something, we are done, we are kaput, we are finished, we are completely and royally hosed as a nation... Geithner should be facing a senate investigation, not a senate confirmation...I am predicting he will be a total disaster as he has been as a New York Fed Chairman. Please I am beginning you: don't hire Tim Geithner, he is an academic and all he has going for him is that he is a democrat" For once we agree with at least one of the two clowns.

So for those who want to know what is actually going to happen, here is what Geithner is saying today, courtesy of Bloomberg. The truth will be diametrically the opposite of everything Geithner has just said.

  • GEITHNER SAYS EUROPE IN THREE YEARS WILL BE `ABSOLUTELY ALIVE
  • GEITHNER: GROWTH WILL BE WEAKER WITHOUT OBAMA JOBS PLAN
  • GEITHNER SAYS OBAMA PLAN WILL MAKE U.S. ECONOMY STRONGER
  • GEITHNER SAYS `OVERHWELMING FORCE' NEEDED TO SOLVE ECO CRISIS
  • GEITHNER SAYS `WE HAVE WEAKER GROWTH THAN WE THOUGHT' IN U.S.
  • GEITHNER SEES POLITICAL DYSFUNCTION IN U.S., EUROPE
  • GEITHNER SAYS U.S. HAS `HUGE INTEREST' IN EUROPE RECOVERY
  • GEITHNER SAYS EUROPE HAS TERRIBLE GROWTH PROBLEM
  • GEITHNER SAYS EUROPE `GOING TO HAVE TO DO MORE'
  • GEITHNER SAYS EUROPE HAS TRADITION OF `INDULGENCE'
  • GEITHNER SAYS U.S. FINANCIAL SYSTEM STRONGER
  • GEITHNER SAYS U.S. HAS `BIG INTEREST' IN HELPING EUROPE
  • GEITHNER SAYS OBAMA JOBS PLAN `ABSOLUTELY' NOT DEAD ON ARRIVAL
  • GEITHNER URGES `MODEST CHANGES' IN TAX BENEFITS
  • GEITHNER URGES AVOIDING OBSTACLES TO HEDGING RISK
  • GEITHNER SAYS REPATRIATING PROFITS PART OF CORPORATE TAX REFORM
  • GEITHNER SAYS GREECE MUST BE SUPPORTED WITH MONEY

It can sometimes take a while for them to fully unload.

SD1... Nothing tops this Jim Cramer video ... Cramer being interviewed by Aaron Task and explaining, in detail, how he manipulated the markets as a hedge fund manager... video about 10 minutes run time...

"In light of the current economic crisis, and with the hullabaloo ignited recently by Jon Stewart over the accuracy of CNBC's reporting, we thought it might be useful to revisit this shocking 2006 interview Jim Cramer gave to TheStreet.com's Aaron Task. In it, the host of Mad Money says he regularly manipulated the market when he ran his hedge fund. He calls it "a fun game, and it's a lucrative game." He suggests all hedge fund managers do the same. "No one else in the world would ever admit that, but I could care. I am not going to say it on TV," he quips in the video."

Surrealisme is to DADA as Cramer and Geithner is to ADD. Benihana chefs in training wokking up Key Words. All the language projects in many grand directions pretending to an infinity of conclusions, some of which can be thought of as borderline plausible. Ah, but then the granularity ensues. I like Santelli's "microphone speeches" rather unlike the private club  conversation. You are on-tape for all time; off-camera is just a temporary focussing issue.

Now if Timmy sat down with Jimmy Chanos for a no-holds-barred debate off camera exclusive, that would be a Pay-Per-View match.

I agree.  I cannot take him in the Morning.  He talks so fast and is so hiped up.  Kind of like he is still on a Drug High from the night before. Especially, when you first wake up.  It is like trying to watch Richard Simmons all hiped up and doing jumping jacks before you even have your coffee.

At least with Mad Money you can turn it off.  Yet, you do not want to miss the news in the Morning and now have to be subjected to this jumping jack clown.  The only thing he is missing is a big round red nose and a multi colored wig.

America, please explain ?

Out of the U.S last night, the federal budget balance was released.

This measures the difference between the federal government’s income and expenses in August.

The U.S Department of the Treasury announced a budget deficit of $134.2 billion.

That’s over US$1.2 trillion over the past 12 months.

Incredibly, this is approximately US$3.8 billion worth of expenses for each American in just one year.

US$3.8 billion for each American in just one year, that is 10.4 million worth of expenses per day for each American over one year.

what the fuck ???

Plus, his so called Chairitable Trust.  I just wonder how much of that so called Trust goes to Chairity and how much he skimms out to pay himself to manage it.  He should have to divest himself of the Street.com and his Chairtable Trust to stay on the Air.

Why does Comcast and GE allow him to be a commentator when he has conflicts of interest.  All of the other Commentators cannot own Stocks.  So, why is he an exception?

Now they have him on in the morning to pump his stocks, on in the afternoon on stop trading and then an hour on Mad Money.  CNBC has almost become the Market Pump By Cramer, instead of a News Show.

Everyone should write to Comcast and get him off the Air.

I seem to recall that Mr. Cramer was gunning for the job in a silly PR/ego driven manner, and acted like a whipped, depressed teen on one of his shows when it became obvious that his manic tendencies probably would not look so good on the world stage.   I suspect he was lashing out at Geithner because he was jealous, not because he was a grand predictor of Timmay's capabilitiy (although that's speculation on my part).

While much derision is given about Timmay's talking up the positives, that's part of the job.  Certainly wouldn't do for him to come out and give an "Eyore speech," he must do the "Pooh positive" on Europe with his pending visit.

Think about it.  You don't get invited to dinner at a friend's house then criticize the cook at you walk into the door...    Or do you?  Hmmmm.

He should have let all the bankers fall not just L. Bros. At least Ohio gained a great governor, (if you are a white collar mobster)
