Jon Stewart Brings Solyndra Mainstream: "That Custom Tailored Obama Scandal You Ordered Is Finally Here"

Tyler Durden's picture

The biggest scandal to rock the White House since Bill Clinton needed a refresher on the definition of the word "the" has gone fully mainstream after Jon Stewart dedicated his segment last night to "That Custom Tailored Obama Scandal You Ordered." His summary: "Fox News call your doctor, because the erection you currently have is going to last longer than 4 hours." Spot on. One thing is missing, however: someone should advise Jon that the missing link, Goldman Sachs, is also, and quite naturally, involved.

C'mon, not my point at all.  Put Obama in Gitmo with Cheney and friends . . . he'd earned it trillions of dollars and thousands of crimes (both commission and ommision) ago.

This issue obviously deserves attention . . . but it's being sucked into the usual red-blue divide-and-conquer mill.

I think his point was that Obumma has bigger crimes that aren't really talked about in MSM.  I mean, take your pick.

1. Appointing the most wall street insiders/corporate lobbyists of any US President (after he said he would end Wall Street's grip on Washington)
2. Continued the wars of the Bush administration
3. Launched an un-Constitutional war with Libya (after campaigning as an anti-war President)
4. Ordered more drone attacks on Pakistan during his first 3 years than Bush did during his entire 8 year term
5. Re-authorized the Patriot act after pleding not to in 2008
6. Became one of the most secretive Presidents in history after pleding to be the most transparent
7. Continues to support Ben Bernanke despite his criminal and anti-American banking practices

Add up the $ amounts of all of those and they make a half a billion look like a grain of sand.

Obumma "maintaining" a 40% approval rating "despite everything on his plate" is pretty indicative of how royally fucked and royally stupid the American public truly is.

Democrats love to ignore the fact that he's gone against almost every single campaign promise he's made.  Not only that but he's made more of a mockery of the US Constitution than Dubya, which says a lot considering he's a Constitutional lawyer.

He's been spewing that same "Yes we can" line on his tour to gain support for his jobs bill.  Wake up America.  So long as we have a puppet in the White House representing the financial oligarchy the answer is, "No we fucking can't."

So long as 99 percent of the American public sits in front of their TV and allows MSM propaganda to freely download itself into their subconscious, then yes.

People need to wake up and realize they're being controlled by engaging in this false right vs. left paradigm.  The time to stand up, forget our trivial differences, and fight against this scum is now.

At some point the American people themselves come into question.  Sure, the corporate media sets the agenda for what is marketed as the public debate about "issues," but it is no secret, for example, that we murdered a few hundred thousand innocent Iraqis.  Fox may see that as something to celebrate, but even if their audience were uniquely stupid sheep, what does it say about the rest of society?

Has the American populace lost its conscience altogether?

Perhaps that's why Justice is an issue of such low interest.

...don't sell the american people too short, for too long, ok?  break from the "herd" and become autonomous;  stop thinking in plural terms, such as "we" and "the American populace" and get yourself totally ready for possible woe;  decide whether you are non-violent, or NOT.  will you, personally advocate and employ violent means to "ends"?  or eschew violence?  don't be "unclear" abt that part of yourself

each of un belongs to diff "groups":  family, friends, age and other demographics;  few belong to and "posess" themselves as free and actual individuals

many years ago, an author wrote that he had chosen a fairly well-known psychological practice of "self-knowledge & understanding" and for his personal path vowed to follow this "exercise" while watching TV!!!  he claimed:  it worked!  then he started writing books about different ways to approach "the human condition" and deal with the personal sewage of the personal journey, and so on...

if a person is fortunate to be born healthy, that's about as good as it's ever gonna get, as far as BEing "yourself".  we then learn to become "sheep".  this is NORMAL altho some of the "local, family, racial, and national" education practices are quite abnormal, but, universally, we all get re-tooled into becoming a TOOL!!!

what is then "subversive" is the "journey back" thru yer own fuking mess and the complete impossiblity of a self-deluded "person" making it back to to his or her "real BEing" and what that means for sheep, or for a man or a woman, especially in the area of "freedom"

hundreds of thousands of "teachers" and authors write about how to "help" yourself from being a sheep by buying whatever the fuk they are trying to sell you

if i'm in prison doin "life without parole", i'm either gonna die in prison or bust out and get "free" of my prison.  but first, i kinda need to figure out that i'm in prison.  i can either figure something out for myself, with or w/out others, or maybe i can find somebody who has escaped, and figure out how to pay him/her what it is worth to help bust me out...

...but it's really kinda hard and requires hours and months learning stuff that is boring, and it's very dangerous, too... and besides, prison isn't really that bad...once ya get usta it...and i can always pretend that i'm free, right here...

As pathetic as it sounds, the Jon Stewart segment might just blow the lid off this thing. The lib MSM had done a pretty good job keeping this story buried, but Jon Stewart is considered a legit news source for the very people who would nromally knee-jerk support Obama. It won't be ignored now.

Stewart is a progressive and many in that group that feel betrayed by O

Having said that there is still the possibility that there is an email buried out there that will actually make O look good (less bad)  in all of this. Nothing like setting up a straw man to undermine the cred of an opponent.  Solyndra could be a less bad distraction from the real issue of the economy.

The problem about this scandal for Obama is that the dynamics of it is easy for the public to understand. When the Repubs were trying to stir up Whitewater (or whatever it was called) against the Clintons, it was this muddled tale about land deals in Arkansas that most people couldn't follow. The Solyndra scandal is easy to understand - major contributor to Obama gets sweetheart loan deal approved over the objections of lower-level government officials. It's bad for Obama both ways. If he knew about it, the bad-ness is obvious. If he didn't know about it, then it appears that he isn't in control of what is going on in his administration.

The one thing going for Obama is that this scandal is happening now, 14 months before the election. He might be able to count on the public's 15 minute attention span.

I loved this whiny hacktastic comment on the Comedy Central page.

“I’m the only person I know that’s lost a quarter of a billion dollars in one year…. It’s very character-building.”--Steve Jobs You didn't get a very good amount of laughs from the audience on this one Jon. The administration is going to make mistakes, every administration does. The difference is that while Solyndra was indeed a failure, it was a failure on the path towards innovation and growth rather than the path of stagnation and the status quo. There has been a growing cynicism in your segments lately and as a longtime fan I wanted to let you know - it's not very funny. Jonathan Hall

You seem to think that the Democratic party is the one calling the shots.  Come now.  Look at the master controlling the puppets.  What will they do to serve their interests?

It comes down to Obumma vs. Perry.  Let's not forget that Obumma was selected over Hillary by the Bilderberg members and Perry received their most recent vote of confidence.

Only way I see Hillary coming into the mix is if Perry screws himself in the next few months (either by engaging in Paul's questions instead of evading them or by being a little too truthful about his loyalty to the financial oligarchy).

Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes her laws.
Mayer Amschel Rothschild

i think when i talked about this , they got itchy ears realizing all their efforts are for nil. i cannot believe so many believe that somehow voting for one old man is going to suddenly change things. the system is broken and cannot be fixed. at this point the options are few and nobody wants to talk about real options. using the system to try and change the system, a system that is broken and corrupt by the way, cannot and will not work. george carlin said it best when he said that they do not want a nation of citizens capable of critical thinking.....so the paulistas are the victims of government schools and the dumbing down process. it is easy to see. they follow the leader, not knowing exactly why. yes they do know that things are bad in this country, so they hear about a man named ron paul and they listen to a guy like alex jones and so they make their decision based upon the opinions of others. this is intellectual dishonesty and they are lazy of mind, not wanting to think things through but only going along just to get along because it is easier to believe the lie than accepting the truth......and this scenario manifests itself in so much of what we as amerikans do these days. its like 911 truth. the quickest way to get kicked off of a 911 truth blog is to ask them the simple question what is 911 truth. then they know exactly where you are going with the question. they know you want to talk about real 911 truth issues like cui bono. so they continue on, arguing about the mundane issues of how it was done and not who the hell did it. ron paul talks about the blowback effect. that is stupid on its face and a insult to any thinking american. any discussion of real 911 truth issues on any 911 truth blog will result in the sinner being expelled most haste. the sayanim and the infiltrators will start mumbling and complaining and the next thing you know you are on the outside looking in. 911 truth was always a infiltrated movement. it is controlled opposition and was from the start. they search for 911 truth yet they never will find it. that is the way it is planned. same thing with alternative media. they talk about issues all day long just like neocon radio does. yet nothing is ever done about it. oh you have the occasional joe stack out there with balls the size of grapefruits. but what does it really prove and what does it really mean? why do such things? committing suicide for these amerikan scumbags is not worthy of any patriot. ron paul is controlled opposition. this makes the paulistas angry and makes them want to remove the pebble from their shoe, that is anyone not toeing the line, not being a true believer, and therefore we who ask too many questions are called ron paul haters. i for one like many of the issues he talks about. but as has been asked by others, just how many times has anything that ron paul ever talked about come into being? how has that audit the fed program worked out? what happened in 2008? oh i remember it quite well. right after a big ron paul internet money bomb, what did he do? oh he got out of the race and he said, oh well i am here to start a movement. oh i see. yet they do the little dance and do the soft shoe and try to tell hpd, that well he was excluded from the debates, blah blah blah...i asked them. what will you do when your little plans do not pan out, after all you are saying that america is finished if ron paul does not win..........the question is met with total silence and then i am gone. such is life here in the gulag known as amerika. i have been kicked off of every blog i have ever been on and yet i am still here. i appreciate the free speech around here. it is refreshing to have it and to experience it. the voice of dissent must be held up and treasured and cherished, not because anyone totally believes it or agrees with but because damn it....it is the american way.........

Ron Paul has done the only thing he could ever do and that is to inject ideas into the debate.

I wish he had a chance at winning, and in a real free media environment he probably could. However he cant. With that said I will still vote for him and encourage others to do so.

Do not believe however that all Ron Paul supporters see him as the solution, because he aint, most I would say know better and that even if he were to win, he would be killed or the media would destroy him and the oligarchs would use their minions to make him irrelevent and set him up as the fall guy with all the bad ideas that destroyed the country.

With that said, anyone that wants to be honest knows that the only thing that will fix this is that which can not be said.

Perhaps the most peacefull solution is a complete disolving of the federal government much like the USSR broke apart.  Sure their will be violence in DC as the oligarchs try to hold onto power, but for the rest of the US, no one will care, they will be happy to have localized government again.  Our best hope is to hope for the states to secede peacably and we can all start over on a more local level. My condolences to those living in Illinois, New Jersey, California etc.

The Pentagon has worried for months that a project backed by a prominent Democratic donor might interfere with military GPS. Now Congress wants to know if the White House pressured a general to change his testimony.

The only people I see that say left versus right doesnt matter are those who believe in a tripartite political spectrum ( libertarians) and socialists attempting to hide their socialist leanings.

You believe in government mandated welfare checks. You believe in taking money from others and spending it on yourself, dontcha, socialist?

OK, this is bad and I'm sure the MSM/TPTB will spend the next six months dilating on Solyndra. But I still find it preposterous that the Ken Starr investigation cost close to $80 million while the 911 investigation spent a paltry $15 million. Unprovoked, the US government invaded Iraq largely on the evidence of the Niger yellow cake documents, which proved to be utterly fraudulent, but there was no investigation there. Then there were the Heliburton no bid contracts, while the sitting Vice President continued to recieve a heafty income from the same company, to say nothing of the billions that went missing in Iraq to private companies. No, but by all means, bring the government to a halt over a shady $500 million, quid pro quo deal.

Ferrari, I wish we had not gone to war with Iraq.(it was an utter waste, and killed hundreds of thousands of folks).

However I do get weary when ALL the facts are not laid out.

The US did not go to war in Iraq, w/out first consulting with the U.N., and NATO.

So, we were not alone on this little killing, get killed spree.

Shitty info was approved by more than JUST the US.

I think once Hill found out the Illuminatti's plans for the years between '08 and '12 she didn't want the job.  Same goes for McCain, which is why he allowed the PTB to put a dumb coke binging pagent queen on his ticket.  They didn't want the job and they knew better.

Both the Rodhams and McCains have been in US politiks since the 18th century, just like the Forbes, Bushes (by proxie of their lineage through the Pierces), Gores, etc.

Obama was the only one stupid enough- or egocentric enough....or psychopathic enough, but I digress...to want the job.

"When the President of the United States summons a joint session of Congress in prime time and delivers a nationally televised speech on the key issue facing the nation and speaks well and forcefully but does not move up in the polls, he is clinically dead.

Even though 31.4 million households - more than a third of the vote - watched Barack Obama's pseudo-State of the Union speech, he got, incredibly, almost no bounce in the polls.

There are three polls that have been released measuring Obama's popularity in the aftermath of his address:  CNN/Opinion Research, Gallup, and Rasmussen.  In their polls prior to the speech these three showed an average Obama job approval of 42.3. After the speech, his approval averaged 43.6, a gain that is well within the margin of error.

Obama labored mightily and brought forth a gnat!"

Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off...

...Welcome to Fight Club. The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: you DO NOT talk about Fight Club! Third rule of Fight Club: someone yells "stop!", goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule: one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule: No shirts, no shoes. Seventh rule: fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight....

...God Damn! We just had a near-life experience, fellas...

...t.d>>[pointing at an emergency instruction manual on a plane] You know why they put oxygen masks on planes?     narrator: So you can breathe.
