Key Overnight Market Movers

According to Bloomberg's TJ Marta, market sentiment this morning is "ambivalent with modest, mixed price action on uneven developments in global growth and the EU debt crisis." In addition to the Spanish bond auction, here are the other key developments, via Bloomberg:

• Asia stock indexes down moderately to significantly, 1.2 to 2.3%, as Bernanke tells Senators Fed not planning aid for EU banks,
• Daiwa stays state bailout still looming for Commerzbank
• Japan’s large manufacturer Tankan fell more than expected
• Spanish to bund yield spreads tightened, moderately for 10-yr, -18bps, significantly for 2-yr, -37bps, after Spain sold EU6b 10-yr bonds vs EU3.5b target; other EU country yields spreads mostly tighter by modest amounts; 1-yr euro basis swap moderately tighter,  +5.2bps, though still at extreme -101bps
• EU stock indexes up modestly as German, French, EU services and manufacturing PMIs all unexpectedly rose; most remain in contractionary territory, although French services shifted back to expansionary and German services moved higher in expansionary territory
• U.S. equity futures modestly higher vs Treasury yields modestly lower, and FX mixed in modest ranges, all highlighting indecisiveness of market participants
• Separately, Swiss france 2 std. devs. stronger vs euro after Swiss National Bank stopped short of increasing floor under EUR/CHF exchange rate
