Latest Greek Headlines

Tyler Durden's picture

Here is the latest installment in the tragicomedic drama that just. won't. end

Lastly, why decide today, what you can put off until indefinitely:

Most likely the outcome will be that predicted by To Vima hours ago, with PASOK's L-Pap in charge, and a New Democracy vice premier. In other words: meet the new boss - same as the old boss, only this time with the Fed's blessing.

Is it the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end?

valley chick's picture

or is it...second verse same as the first...a little bit louder and a little bit worse....

The Deleuzian's picture

Can't wait to hear CNBC and Bloomberg trumpet this as 'a new beginning'

Kind of like that monkey (Moonwatcher) in 2001 jumping around the Monolith....

oogs66's picture

yup, euro up on this...all insane

bdc63's picture

ah ... look how cute -- Greece still thinks their headlines are important.  don't they know its all about Italy now?

GeneMarchbanks's picture

So... the difference is now we have L-Pap to smear?

jekyll island's picture

Either way it's still a pap smear, bitchez!

css1971's picture

This is already old and tired.

disunity government

Ethics Gradient's picture

What is a unity government? Is that like a government that works together? If so, why don't they do that normally?

Either that or it's a government where they never vote on anything...something like a dictatorship.

I'm confused.

Boilermaker's picture

Got it in before futures open....well played, Sir....well played.

Now throttle the shit out of the futures all night long!

GeneMarchbanks's picture

Now throttle the shit out of the futures all night long!

It's not the size of the throttle that matters...

disabledvet's picture

Allrighty then! Now that we know the only thing the Western World is about is "the government check" we can now get back to the real business of "Default...and its Malcontents."

Motorhead's picture

Well, looks like Greece is going from a Bilderberg member to a Trilateralist (assuming they are not necessarily one and the same).  Pap doesn't translate into Rockefeller, does it?

css1971's picture

So it doesn't matter who Greeks vote for now. They get what's coming...

You could put it in the dictionary as the definition of irony.

css1971's picture

Well, Greece, the home and origin of democracy now has no representation.

They have gone from sovereign nation to vassal state to what? I don't even know what to call this, these people were not elected to govern. Fascist argentocracy?

onarga74's picture

One detail...

Kinda like how we handled the debt limit fiasco.  If ours was a joke theirs is going to be a comedy road show. Should be some nice volatility though.

jekyll island's picture

I need a timeout.  Can we have a 24 hour Greek free zone at ZH on Monday?  Please?

bdc63's picture

Don't worry -- Italy will be knocking them out of the headlines REAL soon.

Me XMan's picture

All eyes are on Italy this week. Greece is in the bag and old news already.

Oooooh another spanner in the works

How many spanners can these village idiots throw?

The number is . . . infinity

Is the sellout to the banksters now complete?

silver500's picture
Lucas Papademos may lead the coalition government.  he is former VP of the ECB and former central bank governor.  So YES
silver500's picture

This is like if the US politicans decided that nobody trusts them, so Obama, Cantor ect got a  room and decided that Ben Bernake should take control.

agent default's picture

Is he the guy involved in Titlos PLC?  You know that GS swap that allowed those Greekland perpetual deadbeats to indulge their illusions of grandeur and become part of the Eurozone, because they somehow think they culturally own Europe so they should somehow be part of it? After 400 fucking years of Ottoman rule?

earleflorida's picture

it's already been factored into the market

Scalaris's picture

Differently worded, same shit comfort headline, weekly Monday algo rally, people.

Rip van Wrinkle's picture

So, a unity Greek government. ALL politicians in Greece on the same side of the aisle - austerity. An 'election' come early 2012.

Well, some election. Vote Reds or Blues it doesn't matter. You vote to destroy any standard of living for you, your children and your grand children. Sounds like the ideal EU election and just what Merkozy wants. Sounds remarkably like the Obama/Republican options next year. How quaint.

Anonymouse's picture

Perhaps the problem in Greece is just a lack of sleep.

Instead of G-PAP or L-PAP, they need C-PAP

chump666's picture

The whole thing will dissolve in a week or so. Greece forms a unity goverment?  That's  joke

It is in the US interests to keep this sideshow humming as long as possible.

Anybody taken a close look at Eva Kaili?

Nobody For President's picture

EVA for Prime Minister! Merkel would fade in the shade, Silvio would go berserk(er)! and Sarkozy would forgive the Greek debt straightaway...
