Latest Greek Headlines

Tyler Durden's picture

Here is the latest installment in the tragicomedic drama that just. won't. end

  • PAPANDREOU TO STEP ASIDE AS PRIME MINISTER; NEW PREMIER MONDAY
  • GREEK PRESIDENCY STATEMENT SAYS PAPANDREOU WON'T LEAD GOVT
  • GREEK PARTIES AGREE TO FORM UNITY GOVERNMENT, PRESIDENT SAYS

Lastly, why decide today, what you can put off until indefinitely:

  • GREEK PRESIDENT TO CHAIR MEETING OF PARTY LEADERS TOMORROW

Most likely the outcome will be that predicted by To Vima hours ago, with PASOK's L-Pap in charge, and a New Democracy vice premier. In other words: meet the new boss - same as the old boss, only this time with the Fed's blessing.

What is a unity government? Is that like a government that works together? If so, why don't they do that normally?

Either that or it's a government where they never vote on anything...something like a dictatorship.

I'm confused.

Allrighty then! Now that we know the only thing the Western World is about is "the government check" we can now get back to the real business of "Default...and its Malcontents."

Well, looks like Greece is going from a Bilderberg member to a Trilateralist (assuming they are not necessarily one and the same).  Pap doesn't translate into Rockefeller, does it?

So it doesn't matter who Greeks vote for now. They get what's coming...

You could put it in the dictionary as the definition of irony.

Well, Greece, the home and origin of democracy now has no representation.

They have gone from sovereign nation to vassal state to what? I don't even know what to call this, these people were not elected to govern. Fascist argentocracy?

Kinda like how we handled the debt limit fiasco.  If ours was a joke theirs is going to be a comedy road show. Should be some nice volatility though.

Is he the guy involved in Titlos PLC?  You know that GS swap that allowed those Greekland perpetual deadbeats to indulge their illusions of grandeur and become part of the Eurozone, because they somehow think they culturally own Europe so they should somehow be part of it? After 400 fucking years of Ottoman rule?

So, a unity Greek government. ALL politicians in Greece on the same side of the aisle - austerity. An 'election' come early 2012.

Well, some election. Vote Reds or Blues it doesn't matter. You vote to destroy any standard of living for you, your children and your grand children. Sounds like the ideal EU election and just what Merkozy wants. Sounds remarkably like the Obama/Republican options next year. How quaint.

Instead of G-PAP or L-PAP, they need C-PAP
