The Latest Hopium Recap Out Of Greece: Now 100% Recyclable
Just out from the FT (source)
And from Reuters (source):
And yet this from the NYT, from January 28. (Source)

Guess those inches keep getting lost in Zeno's paradox. Oh well: just remeber Buy, Buy, Buy as you Wash, Rinse, Repeat. And if possible, recycle - keep the carbon credits or something, as you cover those now not so record EURUSD shorts.

Good news, I was worried they'd never get it done >sarc
I posted yesterday how I truely believed in the greek recovery and I was mocked, insulted. Today we see leaders are moving closer to a deal that will manage to finally balence the greek books after years of letting the market run unfettered at the behest of the capitalist vultures and speculators. Now that government has got a handle on things I expect a revival in the greek economy. You guys want to know one of the best investments you could make you 2012? Open up a coffee shop in greece. It won't be long before the feel good facotr returns and the money starts pouring in.
You're a pretty crap troll. Or insane. One of the two.
As if this round of talks will resolve a god damn thing. If they would, please explain why all the other talks didn't resolve the issue, although they were trumpeted to.
You're wrong. Could be both.
Same Souvlaki Different Day, bitchez.
A shot of ouzo today for every mention of the word "inch" in news stories related to Greece. Go!
Leo is back! Did the Canadian debtor's prison release you on good behavior?
Ned? Ned Ryerson? "Ned the Head"? Is that you?
Are you million dollar bonus?
Just a sorry immitation of MDB.
Which is just pathetic.
MDB, why did you change your moniker?
Truth in labeling -- the 'psycho' part.
Haha, the money "made" on the Greece recovery, and the selling of said cups of coffee, will be offset by the costs to replace windows, chairs, tables, doors, and the entire building after the rioting really gets into full motion and they burn your little shop to the ground, coffee and all... Happy Tuesday to you!!!

OK, next up, fix Portugal, Spain, and Italy.
Good luck.
will you provide the cambodgien and philippino girls to go with it? Or should we look for locals?
Think big when you troll and lolllll...
Its "recovery" for people who read the front pages, and don't have the skills to read between the lines.
I'm confused... Maxi...
...are you MDB's proctologist??
"Now that the government has got a handle on things..."
Are you ignorant, uninformed, stupid or just a malicious troll?
USA TODAY - 5 hours ago ATHENS, Greece (AP) – Riot police fired tear gas to repel hundreds of ...they try to enter Parliament during a 24-hour general strike in Athens on Tuesday.
Dig up Anthony Quinn to reprise his role of Zorba, but give him Clint Eastwood's script from the Superbowl ad:
"It's halftime. Both teams are in their locker rooms discussing what they can do to win this game in the second half. It's halftime in Greece too! People are out of work and they're hurting, and they are wondering what they're going to do to make a comeback. And we're all scared because this is not a game. The people of Greece know a little something about this. They almost lost everything. But we all pulled together, and the land of ouzo is fighting again. We fought our way into the Euro. We fought our way into getting you to lend us your money. Now that we can't repay you, we're fighting to get you to give us the money we could use to repay you."
"But remember that scene in Zorba? You know, when the English guy gave me money to buy supplies for the mine, and I blew it on booze and broads at the cabaret. Old Habits die hard ... Go ahead and give us the money, but don't be surprised what you get. We will rally around and act as one, because that is what we do .... Yeah, it's halftime in Greece, and the second half is about to begin!"
" Ouzo for all! Oohpah!"
I will only say this once "Put the crack pipe down theMAXILOPEZpsycho"
Is your last name Aziz by any chance?
All you have demonstrated is how much you DON'T understand what ZH is about. Many think it is only seeing the negative side of everything-I call it the realists view. Stop watching headlines and start thinking logically for yourself. Many so called "solutions" in many areas of life these days are, in reality, just band aids over larger, more systemic, problems that ultimately are not sustainable. Where and when the ultimate truth finally rights the decades of wrongs is anyone's guess, but rest assured, like death, it will eventually come. I hope...because rewarding stupidity and propagating failures while penalizing intelligence and hard, honest work is maddening to those of us awake in our pod of goo within the "matrix".
Greek hopium for anyone not greek. More like greek hospice. Making you comfortable til death we do part.
"He that lives upon Hope will die fasting."
- Ben Franklin
Pull the plug, cut the Souvlaki.
"Inch by inch, it's a cinch, yard by yard it's hard?
Not really. Poor bastards. Just hard default already. I am truly grateful of that €14.5 billion roadblock which will finally catch the can.
Greek Leaders Inch would seem to size things up pretty well. And we know they don't have the balls to just go BK...
"Guess those inches keep getting lost in Zeno's paradox."
They're always 50% closer than they were the day before.
As The Firesign Theatre said 40 years ago, "Zeno Evil."
MUST.PUMP.MORE.HOT.AIR.INTO.THE.BUBBLE.
And here's what the greeks think abt all of this. Happy thoughts Angela, happy thoughts.

What do measurements matter when you keep modifying the measuring stick?
Before you know it we'll be within nanometers of a solution.
Zeno's paradox... devised by a Greek philosopher.

Seems to be a deal....coming....soon.
I think a Nobel Prize in Science is in order here...
They've seemingly re-written Newton's 2nd Law here... There's ZERO entropy on how many times this can happen...
When it's all Greek to me...and by Greek I mean full retard.
This being the 27th time that Greece is "saved", wouldn't it be "priced in" already?
No! Because minutes after the market has surged, it drops by 2-3 points. This would be the repricing expectation of the deal NOT being done.
Seriously, though, so far we've accumulated, what, 3,000 points to the upside on "greek debt talk hopes". All it really is, is the equity markets surging on the banksters getting paid the next coupon. It has nothing to do with principal repayment.
And tomorrow's CNBC headline: EUROPE, FUTURES UP ON GREEK HOPES
All political thinking for years past has been vitiated in the same way. People can foresee the future only when it coincides with their own wishes, and the most grossly obvious facts can be ignored when they are unwelcome. Political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” George Orwell

This time, this time, this time..........
as the bee keeps slamming into the window.
I see "google offers beta".
Greeks should run show's in Las Vegas. Spectators rest of EU..
Inch ? Inch ....

hopium uber alles !
They mean it this time. Honest.
Forbes is noting that the outflows from the EUO etf are now at over 28 million- a 3.1% decrease week over week. And the Euro is gaining against the dollar this am...wtf?
http://www.forbes.com/sites/etfchannel/2012/02/07/notable-etf-outflow-de...
All CB manipulation. There are a few exceedingly daft people still investing in this insiders game, but with that minor exception, it's just pension funds dying through 1,000 cuts...
Every day is the same.
Pre-markets - Futures drop on Greece worries
Market open - BTFD Markets rally on Greece progress
Problem here is we take 1 step back and 2 steps forward ever time this happens. So wtf happens when the deal is actually done? By then we will be severly overbought on what? That greece is still a disaster but signed a piece of paper they will never abide by?
I've been wondering the same thing Conman. Seems to be an orchestrated mini-rally on any down morning.
Do like Bill Murray in "Groundhog Day"
Get to know everyone really well and benefit from the rout.
muddle through, mates.
Yeah, kinda strange that everything rallies while the DXY goes down the shitter.....
I have to admit to something - every day I read ZH I realise that if I had been reading the MSM, I would have such a misinformed and deluded view of the whole thing. Thanks for keeping it real ZH!
Sadly, if you just read MSM stuff, you'd probably make a lot more money in the market because you'd be all in long and killing it. As for me, I just can't pull the trigger on any long proposition because it is just such a clusterfuck out there.
Trading year 2012 will be another roundtrip right back to the beginning of 2010 or .. worse. No amount of government injuiced liquidity is going to make a difference anymore.
100% Pure or ?
Welcome to the strangest party baby, tonight we are staring at the ... abyss.
Better get used to it staring right back at you. But fear is the mind killer so let's observe it instead.
And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you - Nietzsche
Yes, soon to sign, once the Hueys are ready to evacuate the crouching legislators off the roof of parliment to quickly disappear into the smoke-filled skies over an Athens burning with an irrational rage. No one to blame, everyone to blame....
Deal or No Deal? All that really matters is whether the swaps are triggered. Meanwhile if Greece stays, Germany goes.
Well said.
Greece is only a sideshow. The real dramas are in Italy, Spain and France. All running their governments on fumes.
More, more! That's it, harder...faster...longer...ohhh yea, right there...don't stop...almost...keep going...wait...quit talking...ouch...what are you doing....eww....what the hell was that...okay, enough, enough...STOP.
Nevermind. Better off doing it myself.
When did my wife start reading ZH?
While you were away?
Damn you, Tyler!!!!
inch by inch, so they are already crawling?
Adeal has to done by Feb 15th in order for all the legal shit to be in place by March 20th so Greece can meet it's debt payment that comes due that day.
If not,SHTF>> and the can hits the wall.
I'm just SO happy that this time they are getting the deal done.
For real.
For sure.
And we can all move on.
Real Soon Now.
Right.
NFP
Unemployed Greeks have a history of breaking things...
Dow +40. Euro +150 pips. B.S. continues to win.
Greek leaders will meet tomorrow.
ha,ha,ha...
The simple fact it that externally imposed austerity is identical to occupation by a foreign power. This is NOT in the interest of the Greek people, or nation. It is in the interest of the EU banks as a way out of their self-inflicted insolvency. This austerity will help the foreign powers and leave Greece a hollowed out shell, owned by foreigners. The Greek people need to get out from under the French & German Jackboot yet again.
Switching to the Drachma is no panacea. It will impose austerity as well, but an organic, greek style austerity that will benefit the greeks in the long run, not just bail out German and French banks. Think about an overly indebted family sitting around the kitchen table trying to figure out whos going to give up what. Now, imagine their banker sitting at the table TELLING them what they're going to cut, or else!
This is a no brainer, but the politcal powers in Greece (all EU countries actually) are invested in manintaining the EU at all costs. Unfortunately, the people who have to bear those costs are not being consulted about the biggest decision of their generation. This will end in tears.
Maybe tomorrow, or the next 12.5 hours or maybe early morning. Same crap, different day. Pretty much stopped caring a while back. It this actually going to make a difference in anybody's life except for some poor Greeks somewhere in Athens or some filthy rich hedge funder in London or Zurich? I highly doubt it. I'm still going to get up tomorrow, breathe in and out, have breakfast, and go on with my life. Screw them all, I say.

Greece talks stall over further austerityInsane.
They must have fixed it...the Euro is headed upward past 132.
A New York Times article huh? The only thing the NYT is useful for is to use as a blanket when we are all homeless in the near future...
The country and the media use Orwell's 1984 as its manual whereby The Ministry of Truth (Minitrue) is the propaganda arm of Oceania's regime.
Loan sharks knew that if they took the dollars printing machines under their control they could suffocate the world ...they could initially suffocate USA and after taking the USA from the Americans, they could move and suffocate the whole world and take the countries from their people.
FED printed cheap money and loansharking multiplied this money in an unnatural way within the American economy boarders and they discarded them abroad so that they did not threaten USA. USA became the first state in the world with artificial “breathing”...
It cannot be possible but just in the USA for only the last year, more than one million houses were seized. It cannot be impossible but the New World has returned to tents and shelters ..has returned to the ages of Columbus. It cannot be possible that we allow to a few loan sharks looting the toils and the assets of people...
