Naturally that would mean breaching the NYPD barricades which would likely lead to a spike in violence. Watch it live below.

I was watching the live feed all morning and I think this is lame. Seems poorly organized and the participants seem like they lack enthusiasm. The police are polite and courteous even when the "organizers" try and get the people to chant things to provoke them. Bottom line is epic fail. No one cares.
What are these people protesting anyway? Their guy is in the white house so who are they revolting against if not main street Americans? Most of these kids are obviously just college kids who want to be part of something. They are clearly clueless, like thinking that the initial 200 point drop in the dow this morning was because of them. Really? Come on. Get a clue.
Its interesting to watch the "leaders" they are the homeless looking ones. The rest of the yuppies on their Iphones just aren't into it I think.

Why use the "We are Legion" tagline? Is that supposed to anger or endear potential sympathisers who happen to be Christian? Is it a critic of religion itself?

While I agree that what once may have been capitalism in America has morphed into corporatism which I think is bad. What concerns me most is when I look at the list of demand from OWS most look like Marxism. Capitalism/corporatism may be fascism lite but Marxism has exterminated more humanity than any other means of governance. The only other forms of government that come close are the monarchies of the past and despotism. I've seen the interviews of OWS and some OWS people are calling for Communism outright. In the end the OWS people will probably turn out to be more like the Khmer Rouge than Gandi and that left 3.3 million people dead.

I remember when OWS started out as the "US Day of Rage" modeled directly after the Arab Spring. I was unemployed during the Arab Spring, and watched a lot of Al Jazeera coverage. After Friday afternoon prayers, the citizens of Egypt would take to the streets against Mubarak's regime.
They didn't hold general assemblies or drum circles. Instead, they stormed and looted the regime's ministries. There were plans to storm Mubarak's personal compound before he turned himself over.
I hope we are getting closer to this happening on Wall Street. One of my favorite images from Libya was a looter who found one of Gaddafi's goofy military hats. Could you imagine if 100 protesters fought their way into Jaime Dimon's office?
The banks should have died during the financial crisis, but instead got bailed out. Since the bailouts can't really be reversed, it is up to the protesters to take back the bank's ill gotten gains. If corporations are really people, I'd like to see the Justice Department try to prosecute try to prosecute the murder of a corporation.

There's all sorts of differing positions. I think the mainstream OWS is out to obtain the same deals, breaks and priviledges of the 1% by bending and breaking the rules as they see fit, just like the 1% has. It's a demand to be set at the table of the 1%, not to fold up that table. Most cannot envision their lives without the free access to credit they have been accustomed to, the servicing and facilitating of the loans of 99% making the 1% so fabulously rich. I believe OWS is wary of the banks' control over politicians, but I do think to get what they want will require more government control over the banks. That's why so little crap has been thrown towards the Obama administration and federal government in general compared to the vitreol aimed at the banks; OWS needs sympathetic politicians on their side. That's also why I think OWS doesn't seem to care about the collateral damage their occupation is having on John Q. Public - the public is peripheral, not influential over the politicians, so their support is not effectively sought.
