Saw it firsthand, the only people who were half way prepared were the Korean shop owners that were armed to the teeth, they knew that the cops were going nowhere near where they were so they took care of business themselves and survived.

Qadaffi's troops have taken over London and are looting the town.
This is a major blow to NATO forces.

All in on LA anyone that has been there recently would agree...hard pressed to find someone betting against that!

I'd split it evenly among LA, New Orleans, and Chicago. But I wouldn't write off Houston, so maybe a bit of a punt in there.

I've lived in the Detroit area, nothing but miles upon miles of youths ready to lite the tinder.

They have years of experience, especially on Devils Night.

Yeah but isn't most of Detroit being bulldozed anyway to be turned to urban farmland because no one wants to live there? Wouldn't burning the place actually help things along?!

Exactly. Detroit is already post-apocalypse. If anything, it's likely to see hoards of its masses go around and clean the place up. Anything else that happens there is a moot point.

Doubt it would be Houston... probably some other place where it isn't so easy to buy guns.

I'm betting on Washington D.C. As soon as they cut back on the hand-outs.

In D.C. 65% are on some kind of welfare and they can see the politicians responsible for screw up.

philly just got a youth curfew at 9pm whatever the hell that means since cops just want to write parking and traffic tickets and not chase kids around for free

That lone unfortunate event happened in Tottenham on Saturday, and the rioting (if any) should have stayed there. Those imbecile hooligans had all night sat and sunday to very immaturely show their displeasure, and even that was too much. And here comes monday and same thing happens, from midday onward, burning cars, breaking windows in local businesses.

The worst part is, theyre doing this in THEIR part of town. I could obviously care less cause i never visit such places, but it goes to show their irrationality knows no barriers. Quite a shame people like that exist only because of others that actually support them, directly or otherwise.

London should grow some balls and bring in the army on their asses. Dunno how the British army is but i assume its a bit more serious than the cops who are standing back watching as pillaging occurs.

If the cops went in there and nipped it in the bud, the sheep wouldn't get to watch the edifying spectacle of the poloi running riot... whom only their beloved government can quell.

Police chief: "So! You think cuts in the police budget are a good idea? Watch this, mofo!"

but not in Tottenham. Q-daffy is a west sider not an east sider. Just look at Libya, he owns the west of it. I think he likes the west end of London like all Oligarchs and loves to see north, east and south burn. Logical camelese.

Yep. Reminded me of the riots in Tibet led by Tibetans against Han run stores.

The US condemned China restoring order in Tibet. I wonder if US citizens will do the same in this case.

Just kidding actually...

It is not only LONDON.  It is also in Birmgham (north england), things are getting nasty and overnight will be insane I think.

I have seen many interview'ees being cut off from the camera when they start saying :

"Well the bankers looted this country so what is wrong with the young looting shops"  I laughed but it is serious.  It is no longer about the wanna be gangster brap brap that was shot last week... this is/could go onto the bankers in the City as well... they better take some holiday imho.

uhh if you're joking around then I would reply with a comment about the Yid Army and the TA.  Things were bad in Britain in the 70s, my spidey senses tell me if this begins to spread across the estates, it will be bad in every city. Actually the more I think about it, mobs begin to take over city centres across the country and the army is fighting on 3 fronts in Arabia and Libya.

Mon, 08/08/2011 - 16:04 | 1538896 malikai

I was just joking. But if things get out of control it could be. I don't think there will be any fighting in Libya or any other country if that happened, though. On the plus side, the UK would return to a net export country with oil if it did happen, so that might be a good thing.

Right-o. Saw another comment posted on the BBC lead news story...

"At least for now, the violence in this half of London seems to have abated. I was talking to one young man who had received on his BlackBerry a list of places where he said there will be further trouble tonight.

He didn't tell me which places and stressed it is speculation. But he and a friend told me frustration with poverty in the area was boiling over."
