I think President Rajoy is beginning to address the causes of the crisis. It is obvious that the population will try to resist reducing their quality of life, but the reality begins to prevail. If the Spanish government faces this situation politically, will have a good chance of success. Rajoy and the "Partido Popular" have the structure to achieve it. In any case, have been very difficult years for the economy and the population of Spain.

Can't see the slightest sign of him breaking the banks into manageable pieces. Nor do I see any bankers anywhere on their way to jail.

Yes, the public must always suffer the reduction of their standard of living to support the excesses and Socialism of the political class. It makes it easier for them to buy votes down the road to install dictatorship and more tyrannical states.

When the EBT stops working, you better be ready to bug in or bug out.   Computers go down there are no sales, only looting, too late to "stock up".   Small stores may be able to do some cash transactions, but the grocery stores and big box retailers will be FUBAR.

Americans refuse to stop doing business with the Whore Street banks.  They refuse to move their accounts to community banks and credit unions.  They refuse to do this simple task which would destroy the banksters.  Americans riot? Pahleeze! The USSA is a friggin' nation of walking bipedal idiots.

The groups that will protest will not represent the population at large. Nobody cares about the unorganized population, every group represents a particular group that wants to live from it.

Spanish miners get their subsidies from government and are supported by communist parties.

You basically have two groups that have always engaged in this kind of 'riot politics': fascists\nationalists and communists. Nothing more Spanish than that.

Creo que si, pero en ingles:

The Spanish politicians and banks betrayed their people who trusted them, and they have caused the biggest bust in the nation's history. What you think of that history is irrelevant.

This is the 21st century: corporatism gone stark staring crazy mad and putting the people to the sword for the debts of failed banks and politicians who ought to have gone bankrupt in 2008 instead of now flaying the masses who trusted them.

The people that riot are not liberty-seeking individuals that want the looting to stop. On the contrary, they are extreme left wingers that want the state to keep looting from German pensioners and taxpayers as well as the unborn Spaniards. They just hope the state will redirect some of the looting in their direction.

Here is a video of what happened

http://www.20minutos.es/noticia/1536987/0/marcha-apoyo-mineros/manifesta...

we were there and fortunately got out through an elevator to the metro (the metro doors were closed)

In the article it explains how turists and shoppers were panicked along with everyone else, running into shop doors to hide from the people running in the streets

this will be great for tourism!
