The Media Admits To Ignoring Ron Paul

Tyler Durden's picture

Why? Because if "the unelectable one" were to become president, the financial kleptocratic, oligarchic status quo, which just so happens is the big legacy media's biggest advertising base, would be wiped out overnight. Next up: big media becomes very small media. The clip below from CNN explains it all.

As for the reason why Bachmann took first, one picture speak a thousand words:

"Ron Paul will cause the next holocaust."

- actual quote from a Jew on an article yesterday

At this point such a person should be considering very carefully what it is that's occurring in the world, that specifically involves them, that could possibly lead to such a vast and horrific finale to this mess? Why should they even think that could be the outcome of a Ron Paul election win?

But will they consider this obvious need to reconsider?

No, they will just claim total innocence and assert they are just being picked on and defamed, like they always have.

And that does not work, BTW.

I don't care about the gold issue of Paul's as much as Paul as the whole package, anti-war, and anti-banker (I guess the gold standard ties into the anti-banker stance). Paul is basically an existential threat to every element of the status quo in the country, that's why those in power will do everything in power to stop Paul. He would be the first president who is not beholden to every special interest out there, and the puppets who control the centers of power regardless of a D or R in the white house would scream bloody murder if he was elected. They would fix the ballots for sure, there is no way they would allow him to win.

He still has my vote, for what it's worth.

Big fat liar -- either that, or a drooling idiot repeating what you've heard without question.

Federal "income taxes" are less than 25% of the total taxes collected by government.   I assume you're referring to the people who don't pay those -- but end up paying a disproportionate share of payroll taxes and sales taxes, not to mention fees.  Not to mention that every dollar they make usually gets turned into income for someone else via groceries, rent, car payment, house payment, bank fees, interest, etc, since they are living week-to-week.

You're a great propaganda-spewing machine though. Congrats.  Now go back to watching Faux News.

Dude, that's called the economy. People working in order to make money to buy things they need which provide income to others is what makes a people prosperous. Sure, everybody should be willing and able to save some cash but that's nearly impossible due the the Federal Reserve's policies which make saved money rapidly lose value.

Try this:

According the the IRS, in 2009, 50.5% of collections were from INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX.

http://www.irs.gov/taxstats/article/0,,id=102886,00.html

Also, according the the Tax Foundation, in 2008, the bottom 50% of filers paid a whopping 2.7% of all taxes paid.

http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/250.html#table2  (table 6).

Yes, you did catch me, I meant the 51% who pay no federal income tax.  During the recent debt ceiling fiasco, I read numerous reports where Timmah hisself mentions the 80M checks that treasury sends out per month.  I don't watch fox news or any msm news broadcast, the internet has made tv rather redundant and repugnant to me.  Other than that, go back to dailkos fucktard.

the IRS is not the only agency collecting taxes and fees.  Total taxes and fees include state and local governments, which are the ones charging sales tax (disproportionaly paid by lower incomers who spend the vast majority of their income on consumption).

So the 50 percent gets a lot smaller when you factor in all taxes (not just federal.)

From the bottom page of the report you linked to:
The only tax analyzed here is the federal individual income tax, which is responsible for about 25 percent of the nation's taxes paid (at all levels of government). Federal income taxes are much more progressive than payroll taxes, which are responsible for about 20 percent of all taxes paid (at all levels of government), and are more progressive than most state and local taxes (depending upon the economic assumption made about property taxes and corporate income taxes).

You really are a verifiable retard aren't you?

According to the IRS: Summary of Collections Before Refunds by Type of Return, FY 2009 , 50% of IRS Collections are from INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAXES. I've already admitted to meaning the 50% who pay no federal income tax.

According to the Tax Foundation: THE BOTTOM 50% OF FEDERAL INCOME TAX FILERS PAY ONLY 2.7% OF THE MONIES COLLECTED.

I'll bet you're one of those who rant and rave about "Bush's Illegal War."  Here are some facts for that one:

Before beginning action against Iraq, Bush received Senate and House approval as well as several UN resolutions backing his actions.

Before beginning action against Libya, obongo did not even notify the Senate or House of his actions.  He had ZERO UN Resolutions supporting his actions.  Several weeks after bombing began, both the Senate and the House denounced US involvement taking the chickenshit move of continuing funding while withholding approval.

NATO is not a part of the UN.

NATO does not dictate US policy.  In fact, one could make a strong argument that the US dictates NATO policy.

So, it appears that it is OBONGO who is the illegal warmongerer.

Thanks. I needed that. So often esp on ZH I hear people spout off about those of us who pay "no taxes". They get up on their high horse and get all self righteous like we are all worthless, teat sucking scum. What many don't realize is that a lot of us used to be middle class or upperclass just like them but have had the life squeezed out of us recently. I watched my dad work his ass off to make us middle class. I busted my ass to keep myself there. But none of that hard work made one bit of difference....we all wound up pushed back down out of the middle class. So when you are ranting about all of us, keep in mind you are actually talking about people not just some percentage you saw quoted somewhere.

And the taxes you mentioned that we do have to pay, is just a small sample. EVERYONE pays gas tax, there are fees on the power bill that go to the gov, tax on just about every purchase ANY of us make! Not to mention the poor tax. Gas is more expensive inner city. Hell even tomatoes are more expensive in the city!

All I am saying is that it's easy to forget that there are actually people behind all these numbers that are spouted.

you know what though?  I'll tell you a personal anecdote here.  I was one of those who employed 5 people, full time with benefits.  I gave that up 4 years ago.  I decided to take my ball and just go home since everyone was getting paid, especially the government, except me.  Now, I'm no genius, but it seems to me that government NEEDS private business in order to operate.  I know a dozen people just like me.......... and i mean exactly like me, same business, same sentiment. First, I don't classify you in the 51%.

Second, I know exactly what you mean.  I am self-employed and the past couple years have been trying, to say the least.  I work day in day out and at the end of the month maybe I get paid maybe I get a small check maybe I don't get a check.  Some months I've even lost money (bills have to be paid even if I'm not).  I am incensed when I hear people hyperventilate over the prospect that payments to the poor may be cut.  And I'm supposed to feel compassion and be over joyed that I can provide for someone who won't get off of the sofa.  In the past three years I have stopped community service and even donating blood.  I will not hire any one until obongo gets a pink slip.  If you want to volunteer, give blood, hire more employees, go right ahead, I won't stand in your way.  I will not.

take this from me:  one of the positive side effects of the government's 30-year race-based hiring and promotion policies and their consequences-be-damned construction of an artificial black middle class is that the government, as an entity, is totally incompetent.

Look, the government has an issue with NASA's "lack" of black scientists and is bound and determined to rectify this "crisis" (along with others like lack of blacks in SOCOM).  And it doesn't matter if they have to eliminate all real space travel to dumb the agency down to the level that can support this additional white tax.  Same thing with the SOCOM; operational readiness and capability is secondary to diversity in importance.

This just means, once you eliminate merit, the organization is no longer operating at its maximum capability.  And that is how every agency across the government is.  They have tossed overboard standards for the CIA, NRO, FBI, etc., in the name of diversity.

The agencies that have merit-based standards (aka, have a diversity crisis) will be crippled in the name of progress.

You didn't sumarize what you think his stance on abortion is.  He states his personal disdain for abortion and usually tells the story as to why he personally is against abortion.  He never ever mentions that abortion should be illegal or that government should be in the middle of a personal decision that doesn't effect another person.

The abortion issue is a purely political one.  There are already laws about murder or killing another person.  The abortion term is bu11sh!t and created in Washington DC.  It is used in debates between canidates so the sheeple can check all their boxes and be convinced someone is really a rep or dem.

Politicians pray on the stupid and superficial.  They give vague answers so they can make something mean whatever they want.  RP is vague about abortion because he needs to be to appeal to republicans.  He intentionally talks about his personal experience and leaves out the part about what the government should do about it because his position, although a conservative one, is not a republican one.  See Barry Goldwater for real conservatism.

Notice how vauge you are about implying what RP's stance is and your vague term of being disturbed by the undefined stance you are disturbed about.  Are you a politician?

do let me know when a foetus is awarded personhood, like a corporation.  oh, and when the sperm-donor part of the foetus is held responsible in any way for the conception.

I'd have a lot more sympathy for the argument if anyone *crickets* were in the least bit interested in the outcome (life) of the foetus - again, all responsibility continues to accrue to the female, irrespective of situation.

Income is defined as the profit generated by corporations doing business within the United States. A US citizen is considered a corporate entity in this way. Federal employees also generate income. Signing a W-4 makes you an employee of the Fed. US Gov. See; 26 USC Section 3401. Definitions

(c) Employee For purposes of this chapter, the term "employee" includes an officer,

employee, or elected official of the United States, a State, or any political subdivision

Thanks Jorgen but please note:Draft Form 8938 -- "Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets". Instructions for Form 8938 are not yet available.

Treasury publication 515 explains how a "non resident alien" (that's a union state sovereign)  can experience an absence of liability to owe internal (meaning inside the District United States as referenced above)revenue. That form P515 has been substantially modified since 2009 so as to make it more confusing than ever to anyone interested in the emancipation process is evidence desperation the IRS is feeling. Bottom line: Tax code is municipal or corporate law and only has jurisdiction over corporate entities that make themselves liable by registering their corporations within the District or claiming status as US citizens. A national of the United States living outside the District US and simply exchanging labor for pay is also outside IRS jurisdiction.

@Tunga: The reality is that IRS taxes even people born in the U.S. (automatic citizens and it does not matter if the parents were here legally) who left the country right after birth. This example illustrates what happens if you are a dual citizen residing abroad and have not filed your foreign income with IRS. I believe the U.S. is one of a very few countries taxing non-resident citizens on foreign income.

Mon, 08/15/2011 - 16:08 | 1562810 Tunga

@ Jorgen; the difference between a US citizen and a National but not a citizen of the United States has to do with birhright upon the soil of a free and independent state. If you're born on a military base or in the District of Columbia then you are property of the US Congress and they can tax you as such.

If on the other hand you recognize your rights as an American and were born to American parents upon the land of a free and independent state of the union of the Republics ( check the preamble to your US passport for the word 'national') and you can differentiate between the 3 distinct definitions of the term "United States" as provided by the USSC in Hooven and Allison then you have a chance to free your self from the clutches of the IMF's private collection agency AKA the IRS.

No. Made me laugh.

The MSM are simply chasing for customers and they are doing this by giving what some customers want.

Ron Paul's fans (Paultards) want to feel out of the system, they want to feel excluded while they are included.

Paul, as their representatives, can not be included. If he was, Paultard would look for the next non included candidate.

What do Paultard look the MSM for? To check that they are indeed excluded. They want to be reinforced in their perception. And the MSM admitting that their candidate is ignored, just like them, is even better.

So we have MSM chasing for ratings and giving viewers what they want to hear.

Funny as funny. Paultards want the MSM to send back the image of themselves they wish, that is people who  are ignored, excluded.

But, when it happens, instead of seeing that a sign of being within the system, of being acknowledged by the system, Paultards really take it as a sign of being ignored.

One person enters a room and makes this request: she wants to feel ignored.

How to satisfy this demand? Of course, the satisfaction of her demand means she is part of the system and not ignored. But well, US citizens prefer appearances over ...

Same for Paultards. They want to feel outta the system and the system treats them as if they were outta the system. Of course, it means they belong to the system.

Isnt life funny as funny in this US world order?

The "US World Order" is an abortion - a collection of power-grabbing, war-mongering, closet imperialists, genetically spliced businessmen/politicians, joined at the hip by the 666 mark of fiat money, who are even now, as we speak, seeding the final seeds of world economic collapse. From the ashes of that collapse, a "non-US World Order" will emerge, run by people who don't even have to pretend to be nice. Ron Paul is the only person who wants to dismantle the "US World Order" before it dismantles us. Ironically, he wants to do it by simply enforcing the US Constitution, and by returning to the gold standard. What a novel fucking idea.

Pretending is pretending. The next world order will only be a change for US citizens in this regard.

The US world order is the expression of the US People popular will. And the Constitution has been instrumental in the establishment of the US world order.

Evil politicians always say they believe in good things like prosperity and  freedom. Are you suggesting that those who actually endeavor to create prosperity and freedom in their own lives are being comprised by those in Washington who pay lip serves to those ideals?

The Tea Party is not a group of politicians in Washington. It's every individual who has the guts to say, "No!" to Big Brother.

To be an 'official' apologists for a doctrine, one needs to know they're being used?

In the beginning there was talk of 'out with incumbents' - that was a dangerous message, but face it, the TEA Party was hijacked by the siren song of the uber-right's numbers and the MSM's portrayal of rallies. That pushed most of us away, and now the majority of incumbents are secure again. The TP is also trying to hijack Paul's rEVOLution for a second time with MSM's help.

Do PACs and lobbyists also not exist in your world without billionaire activists? My world has a correctional facility construction company with a hand in Arizona's immigration law. And groups that say Social Security can never work, unless you force American's to throw their money onto the gambling tables of Wall Street.

It could be spelled out that A=C and C=F but if you're a little slow, then you'll scream and stomp all day that A does not equal F...

It's not a ponzi if the federal reserve is abolished. I like a lot of things about Ron Paul except he is a republicunt which is to say the exact same thing as a demonrat. Abolish the fed, end the rule of wall street and the mic and everything else will work itself out naturally. Social security is the only thing that stands between many people and bankster induced poverty. What's left of the economy would go down the shitter if ss was ended. There wouldn't be a grocery store or restaurant left in freedumb's land if it weren't for SS. When the stock market goes to zero there won't be any pensions left except for SS.

Look up the definition of Ponzi scheme.  The only difference between Social security and Madoff is the color of legal authority.

And why is it that every time someone here is in favor of ending social security, medicare, medicaid, etc... your response is WHAT A FUCKTARD KILL THE POOR PEOPLE'S PROGRAMS BUT KEEP THE BAILOUTS FOR THE BANKS, CORPORATIONS, ETC...  Many here who propose killing off the mad spending spree, most if you're only counting those in favor, ALSO come down firmly on the side of KILLING IT ALL; social security, medicare, medicaid, MIC contracts, bank bailouts, corporate welfare, etc...  I want a small federal government, one that isn't responsible for anything beyond the absolute basics that can only be done by a federal government (defense of borders, national interests, court system, transportation/communication network).  I don't want a fed that's responsible for my health or my retirement or my light bulb purchases.  A small fed that WORKS FOR THE STATES.  Not a bloated big federal government responsible for everyone and everything that is in charge of us all.

Listen to the msm whine about cutting a mere $100B/yr from the Pentagon budget. They talk about the jobs lost but it isn't about jobs lost it is about maggot billionaire profits. I happened to watch the debt ceiling debate on cspan.  I don't know if you caught any of it but I was struck, STRUCK, I tell you.  The first debate after Boner cancelled the vote.  In order to kill time, the House debated like 17 amendments.  Regular business.  All spending bills since we are now operating for 3 years without a budget.  Every single spending bill passed.  Every single one.  I counted over $100M in spending.  Nothing critical.  You know, $30M for Parks and Forestry.  $10M here, $10M there, $14M for Natl Endowment Arts.  Not a single dime cut from spending.  Two hours later, you've got every Representative, pro and con, debating Boner's bill, all talking about cutting spending, again, pro or con.  Let me repeat, 17 spending bills, NOT ONE CUT A DIME OF SPENDING.  Non-essential stuff.  I mean, if they can't cut $14M from the Natl Endowment for the Arts, the equivalent of one Picasso, they are NEVER going to cut a dime from anything.

Soc Security is one of the most treacherous of all the government's deceptions.  Epic lie.  Even intelligent ZHedgers will erroneously argue that SS is viable and mathetically feasible (ideology aside).

Under different economic circumstances SS would have to be redefined and phased out over years.

However, circumstances as they are, SS could end over night.  Best case scenario, SS is effectively phased out over time through inflation (again deception).

My goodness, how did people ever live beyond 65 without SS?  I guess people just died at 64 or 65 years old.  Weird.  For thousands of years.  (Rhetorical question.)

MY KINDOM FOR A SPEL-CHECK.  Tyler!  (My grammar and diction are bad enough.  Toss me a bone here.)

It's worth keeping some kind of perspective on the history.

Most people DIDN'T live beyond 64-65 before Social Security.  A few did.  And they survived by living on farms with their families.  That was the way people all over Earth survived throughout most of history, because societies were primarily agrarian.

Now far be it from me to support SS benefits myself--don't get me wrong.  But the whole point of the system being introduced in the first place was to make the collapse of agrarian society more survivable for the vast majority of the population.  Retirement age was set as it was in '33 because it was higher than the average life expectancy, which back then, was generally comparable to your average CAREER expectancy.

Once you stopped finding a way to scramble for your survival, you were supposed to die.  Like pack animals.

We'll be back to that soon enough, it seems.  Most folks just don't seem to understand the implications of their desired policies.

Hi blunderdog.  I appreciate your thoughtful reply.  I'm afraid I'll have to mark you down as one of the "intelligent ZHedgers that erroneously believe SS is feasible and viable."

Feasibility aside:

The "desired policies" you say, are not mine---they are those of our Founding Fathers.  The Fed govt is not authorized to create a retirement program such as SS.  The states, however, may as they are not specifically limited from doing so in the Constitution.

History is our guide, as you inferred.  And this goes to my rhetorical point.  What in the world did seniors ever do before SS?  What did we ever do before medical insurance?  Medicare?  Welfare checks?  Subsidized housing?  Unemployment benefits?  Food stamps?  Credit cards?  My goodness, did anyone actually live before 1933?

What in the world did seniors ever do before SS?  They didn't rely on the government.

  • Some but few people saved money for retirement.
  • Some sold off or rented their land/property---down-sized.
  • Most simply kept working---yes, until they died.
  • Seniors moved in with younger family members and contributed around the house and with the children.
  • Some worked for room and board in homes of employers.
  • Assistance was often provided through churches.
  • Some local communities offered financial assistance.
  • Today, some companies offer pensions.

Agrarian yes.  But, seniors can't go it alone on a farm.  If you had taken your own wise counsel to review the historical record, you would have concluded times before SS were tougher but sustainable.

Well that's silly.  I don't believe anything of the sort.  If you read the post carefully you might even find a bit of a hint about my opinion on SS.

All I did was mention some background for you, must be your tendency towards binary opposition leads to the erroneous assumption that I support something you oppose.

Not even close.

Ok. Ok.

Let's just start over---from the beginning.  I may have misread your post, esp. if I was using my "binary" mind.

Blunderdog, thank you for your thoughtful reply.  Indeed, rural drift and increasing lifespans joined the chorus crying out for assistance by the 1930s.  Unfortunately, as I'm sure you'll agree, FDR was President at the time.

Charity is a wonderful thing.  Science is a wonderful thing.  Government is not wonderful.
