Mike Krieger: "Rebellion Has Arrived In America"
From Mike Krieger of KAM LP
The Bill of Rights is a literal and absolute document. The First Amendment doesn't say you have a right to speak out unless the government has a 'compelling interest' in censoring the Internet. The Second Amendment doesn't say you have the right to keep and bear arms until some madman plants a bomb. The Fourth Amendment doesn't say you have the right to be secure from search and seizure unless some FBI agent thinks you fit the profile of a terrorist. The government has no right to interfere with any of these freedoms under any circumstances.
- Harry Browne
The inherent right in the people to reform their government, I do not deny; and they have another right, and that is to resist unconstitutional laws without overturning the government.
- Daniel Webster
It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds.
- Samuel Adams
Rebellion Has Arrived in America
As most of you know, I spend almost as much time studying social changes and geopolitics happening around the world as I do studying markets. While carefully observing those areas are always important to a macro investor such as myself, when you are smack in the middle of a Fourth Turning they take on an increased level of importance. What has shielded the U.S. from a lot of the social strife sweeping the rest of the globe at the moment has been the U.S. dollar’s reserve status since this allows us to print seemingly infinite amounts of paper dollars and shove them down the throats of the rest of the world for their resources. This keeps the populace fat, happy and most importantly asleep and apathetic. Well I am pleased to announce that those days are OVER. The American populace is now in the very beginnings of a state of open peaceful rebellion against the criminal oligarchic mafia that runs the nation through fraud and corruption. The status quo is likely to become increasingly defensive as a result and may lash out aggressively like a cornered rat, but they cannot and will not win. They can only really win when they own your mind and that battle has already been lost. Six months from now the state of rebellion will have moved from just beneath to the surface to the forefront of everyone’s mind. It will be a peaceful and constitutional rebellion and it will end with new ways of doing things, more freedoms and a very long road toward rebuilding a safe, fair, free and localized society once TPTB’s prison planet grid of control has been torn down forever.
Occupy Wall Street
I will be the first to admit that I faded the whole idea of this “Occupy Wall Street” protest. I had already seen several failed attempts at protest in NYC come and go and I just sadly assumed the spirit of that once great city had died forever. I am extraordinarily happy to report that I was wrong. When I watched some video of police brutality at NYC protests this weekend I was stunned. Not because the cops acted like some mercenary storm trooper thugs, but because this protest that has started the week before still had momentum! Check out this link regarding what is going on. It has two must watch videos. http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=194965 The first one already has over 400k watches on youtube. This is the spark I have been waiting for and I am pleased beyond belief that it happened in Manhattan right where it should. How about this appearance of Cornel West at the protest on Tuesday. http://www.rawstory.com/rawreplay/2011/09/cornel-west-at-occupy-wall-str... I am proud of my old home today. This is a big deal. The serfs are coming together. Keep it up.
Most of you reading this right now are thinking that this is interesting but he is exaggerating and this will blow over. I am here to assure you that it is not and this whole thing is about to grow exponentially as the economy continues to stagnate and people climb the learning curve. Are you aware that the founder of Salon.com, David Talbot, is publicly calling for an “American Spring?” This of course is a reference to the Arab Spring, in which revolution swept across North Africa earlier this year and led to the collapse of the Tunisian and Egyptian governments and then major government bribes to the people living in the oil rich kingdoms. Mr. Talbot writes “In these increasingly hard times, Salon is dedicating itself to an American revival. Our editorial mission will become more explicitly and aggressively populist. We will be publishing more investigative pieces, exposing the shadow dance of power. And both Democratic and Republican targets will be fair game, since both parties are increasingly under the control of the same corporate forces.” His full piece is here http://www.salon.com/about/american_spring/index.html?story=/about/insid... You need to read it if you want to understand where all of this is headed. How about journalist Chris Hedges talking about “Occupy Wall Street” http://www.rawstory.com/rawreplay/2011/09/chris-hedges-occupy-wall-stree... We the people now understand it is not “rich vs. poor,” businessperson vs. teacher.” It is serf vs. oligarch. They are 0.1% and we know what they are up to. GAME ON.
Jaime Dimon Proves he is a Complete and Total Psychopath
I am not even going to write my own thought paragraph about how delusional and insane this man’s statements were the other day on banking regulations. Rather I will provide links to articles by people that have done a great job of exposing the absurdity of this parasitic oligarch’s comments. My favorite line by far on this is from fellow ex-Wall Streeter Nomi Prins who writes:
“There are few things more cringe-inducing than a government-subsidized bank CEO spouting self-serving, entitlement-laden idiocy to the world just because he and his bank might be subject to some extra constraints. That hasn’t stopped JPM Chase CEO Jamie Dimon from acting like a spoiled, sociopathic brat while characterizing proposed Basel III capital requirements and regulations as ‘anti-American’ at every opportunity. They are not ‘anti-American’ but globally risk-mitigating in a time of widespread economic Depression, a point lost in the haze of Dimon’s megalomania.”
Her full article is here http://www.zerohedge.com/news/guest-post-jamie-dimon%E2%80%99s-shameful-.... Precious metals hero and money manager Eric Sprott chimed in with this letter to the Globe and Mail. http://www.businessinsider.com/eric-sprott-jamie-dimon-letter-2011-9
Jaime Dimon is a real piece of work. It is as if he is asking for a custom made guillotine (metaphorically speaking of course as I do not condone violence in any way shape or form). At least Lloyd Blankfein had the sense to read the writing on the wall, shut up and hire an attorney.
So in conclusion, rebellion has arrived on America’s shores and it is about time. The moment is here for each of us to make important decisions. Save freedom and liberty or allow the oligarchs to enslave us and your children for generations. Peter Orzag recently wrote that “We need Less Democracy.” http://www.tnr.com/article/politics/magazine/94940/peter-orszag-democrac... This is what these guys are gunning for. Just think about who this “WE” he is talking about is.
And don’t kid yourself. Pretty much everyone on this list is a serf no matter how rich you are. Don’t kid yourself.
Peace and Wisdom,
Mike

Oh. I thought you said Duncan Hunter, but that's so 2008.
Right on, Krieger. Here's another quote for you:
"Even a dog knows the difference between being stumbled over and being kicked."
-Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes
The American dog is waking up, and it is pissed.
And that dog is educated, too. Do you have any idea how much homework it's eaten over the years?
i look around here, and i don't see anybody waking up. i don't think the amerikans will ever wake up and i don't think they will ever get it and i don't think anything of importance will ever be done about any of the problems we are having. been in the trenches too long now. i have given up on the amerikans. they are dumb and stupid and easily manipulated and they refuse to change. so let them eat cake for all i care. many people who i have heard talk on the radio on alternative radio are giving up on this situation now and are moving to self preservation mode...such is life in the gulag called amerika...
May that bitch have rabies...
Another leftist rag trying to stir the pot. Boring:(
Reminds me of a quote by Churchill abount not praying for something too hard, lest you get it......
Yup. Deflecting the issue as usual, and this time masterfully. Instead of government getting the focus of all the ire (what, no march on Washington DC, or Albany), they focused it on their always useful tools, BANKS and Wall Street. So, a few buildings will ultimately be trashed, some dolts will feel like they accomplished 'something big' by smashing windows, running through streets, etc and the boys in the Federal, State and local capitols will be laughing!!!!
More taxes, more depreciation of the currency, more redistribution from us to them, till we all will be enslaved - not by Wall Street, but by GOVERNMENT.
Tis truely pathetic!
EXCELLENT point Sophist!
ZH comments hardly ever note that the greater sinner is .gov vs. the Banksters. I contend that it is .gov SPENDING and INCREASING AUTHORITARINISM that is far worse a threat than the Banksters robbing us of even trillions...
March on Washington. And vote for Ron Paul.
And don't forget to opt out where you can: my number one choice is gold.
Imagine the gov as the beast - and then add in that the banksters rule the guv - so to speak the banksters are the head of the beast -
Anyone who's watched a horror movie knows that the most effective way to kill the beast is off with their heads - aka let's start with the banksters 1st or otherwise they simply step in and run the 'new' gov.
Yup, the banksters buy a new .gov every two years whether they want one or not.
The bankers are Sauron and government is the Ring of Power. There will always be another Dark Lord waiting to seize power as long as the Ring exists. When the Ring is no more you'll find that the Dark Lord was only a shadow.
‘The concentration of the power of the Press has long since made a mockery of whatever degree of informed democracy we may have once known...’
‘The true equation is ‘democracy’ = government by world financiers.’
‘The main mark of modern governments is that we do not know who governs, de facto any more than de jure. We see the politician and not his backer; still less the backer of the backer; or, what is most important of all, the banker of the backer.
‘Throned above all, in a manner without parallel in all past, is the veiled prophet of finance, swaying all men living by a sort of magic, and delivering oracles in a language not understood of the people.’
all quotes by J.R.R. Tolkien
maybe re-visit Lord of the Rings?
"Evil oft mars itself"
DoChen,
Always enjoy your posts. But lets not forget, at this current stage, one (gov) is a function of the other (WS). Without one, the other loses its teeth and returns to answering to the people.....if it ever did.
All the best.
And voting in a national election, even for Ron Paul, is futile. There are no solutions in DC--only problems. The whole place should be razed, plowed up, and sown with salt.
Finally, a protest I would be part of! I've got an IH dump truck. I'll spring for some of the salt
To all of the above...
The anti govt rants by your heros are designed to remove the (few) barriers left that impede bankers and corporatists ramp up of their pillaging... you "useful idiots," don't even know who the enemy is, let alone what to do about it!
I think it should be an environmental reclamation project to return it to its pristine state; a swamp.
No matter what though, someday, the dandelions will win.
I think you guys might be right about the potentcy of such a demonstration. Instead, if you really want to hurt "them" (corporate America - Wall Street), and not break any laws...just stop spending money. That is all. Just don't buy anything! Okay, fine, we all have to eat, but stop buying the shit you don't need. This economy is 70% driven by our spending. Instead, buy gold and silver with your otherwise pissed-away money. Stop feeding wall street your fiat and instead feed your basement with precious metal.
Just an idea that probably is more of a threat to the "fat cats" than getting pepper sprayed by Tony Baloney.
And here I thought we already stopped buying.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Yz48pm4ubc&feature=related
Disobey (and stop buying shit)
Heh, I love the Kalle Lasn approach, but in order for it to be successful practically everyone has to get on board. As not everyone is an Adbusters subscriber you might just have to risk being heavily spiced by the likes of Tony Baloney (nice.Ed.) if you want the rubber of your idea to hit the road.
Listen, nimrod (DoChenRollingBearing), try to ulitilize those two and one-half neurons you may still possess:
Try examining all those presidential appointments in the Reagan, Bush #1, Clinton, Bush #2 and Obama administrations.
Notice the incredible similarities???? Note the proliferation of reappearing names from Reagan and Bush in Clinton's administration, then reappearing in Bush #2, then once again in Obama?
Note how neocons from Schwarzenegger's state government administration (CA) later appear in Obama's administration?
Note how the former consultants on that Cheney/Poindexter Total Information Awareness Project later appear in Obama's administration?
Note how that congressman, Jack Colby, who was Reagan's point man for offshoring American jobs back in 1986 is now Obama's trade representative?
Note how Larry Summers and Timmy Geithner first appear in Bush #1's administration, reappear in Clinton's, then once again in Obama's administration?
Note any frigging pattern here, NIMROD??????
When the same people appear from Reagan to Obama, that is called a seamless continuum, all the samo samo perpetrators, just a few different sock puppets at top.
And it's even worse when the nepotism is examined? After all, Obama reappointed Bush's (#1, then #2's) Robert Mueller as FBI Director, while it was President John F. Kennedy who fired Robert Mueller's grand-uncle from the CIA, Richard Bissell.
Know who Timothy Geithner is descended from?? (HINT: related on the Moore-Mellon side, and was also treasury secretary at the previous worst time)
Know who Diana Farrell's daddy was? (She's the number one jobs-offshoring specialist in America whom Obama appointed to his economics council -- she's since left -- and she wasn't even an economist!)
How many of those on the Joint Chiefs of Staff also had daddies who served on the Joint Chiefs of Staff? The number is truly mind-boggling, dudes!
Robert Gates, former SecDef, remember who was SecDef during the '50s? Uncle Gates, that's who!
When one drills down, it gets worse and worse and worse......
Well, facts are facts sgt_doom, and since I am too lazy to research your info, I accept it all as true. Good digging, H/T to you.
Yes indeed, I recognize almost all of them above.
Further, I recognize that .gov and the Banksters are much more inter-related than I wrote above. I should have thought that through better, thanks for pointing that out.
One fact you got wrong though: bearings do not have neurons.
".gov vs. the Banksters"
What is this? Less filling vs. tastes great?
Instead of government getting the focus of all the ire (what, no march on Washington DC, or Albany), they focused it on their always useful tools, BANKS and Wall Street.

US propaganda is so cheap...
So what? Who is in charge? The government or the banks/WS?
Here one reads that the government is the master of puppets while elsewhere, one can read that the government is bought by special interests.
Get your cheap propaganda in order. This low level of cohesion is so embarassing.
You're right, of course. It is Wall Street that created Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, DOE, FDIC, SEC, etc. It is Wall Street and banks that insist on constant deficit spending, CONTROL the issuance of Treasury notes, bills and Bonds. It is Wall Street that has expanded the ranks of Federal State and Local government ranks. It is also Wall Street that has now co-opted 42% of the USAs GDP, has $60 TRILLION of off balance sheet liabilities, has redistributed wealth from producers, etc.
Yup, poor government. They didn't enact legislation that forces banks to carry Treasury debt, ignore the effects of inflation through taxation of its citizens that now need to work longer and harder to maintain a basic quality of life, spawn and foster the sub-prime debacle, create an atmosphere that requires payola from large corporate interests, enact a slew of legislation that will take effect in 2012 thru 2014 that will erode civil liberties, increase tax slavery, etc.
If politicians listened to their citizens and looked after our interests, there would be NO WALLS STREET influence. But, these scums in all halls of government aid and abet this behavior. It's like blaming the home owner for leaving his door unlocked for being robbed by criminal. Get your propaganda straight, you government tool
You're right.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
It means nothing. I asked US citizens to clarify their positions on who is in charge.
>I asked US citizens to clarify their positions on who is in charge.
The voters
You,re right IMO,GET the head of the snake,The rest is harmless
Agreed. These big banks would have failed in 2008 but for our government, who bailed them all out. I'd gladly throw in with these protesters if they were in DC or at the FED. By the way...the same leftists protesting Wall St. this week were sitting on the sidelines mocking the tea party in early 2009 for protesting the bailouts.
"I'd gladly throw in with these protesters if they were in DC or at the FED."
You'll get your chance.
If you don't think the government is but a tool of moneyed interests, you haven't been paying much attention and are ill informed. You also don't know how fascist states and police states have worked historically. Basically, you're a fool.
It's okay, you can stay home. And we'll still let you live in the US after we're done unwinding the tyrants that are currently raping the nation. See, we're that committed to freedom. Even yours.
History is littered with 'freedom' that arose from revolutions, especially those organized by leftist. Those are the ones that left all those bodies......:(
Too bad the government isn't as committed to freedom as you are. They'll let you have a few scapegoats, and then the international banking cartel will resume 'God's work' of financing big government.
They are free to try!
Monsters monsters monsters ...
Aww...how nice of you to "let" us live in our own country.
When democracy gives way to tyrany, those with rifles still git to vote.
“The State is nothing more nor less than a bandit gang writ large.”
-- Economist Murray Rothbard
"Government is simply force; concealed or revealed."
....Doug Casey
Yep but sorrowfully for US citizens, history has shown the US citizens capacity to organize tyranny without the help of the gang named the government.
History is a sad thing for them in this regard.
US citizens have no legitimate claim on freedom, justice and truth as they have shown they are only interested in them to cover up for the pursuit of their US citizens'self interests.
Nothing has changed in the US, just like today US citizens are invaded nations to rob their wealth, US citizens made their war of independence to be the slave owners and the invaders of the indian lands.
King George the Third was for enforcing Indians' property rights.
Indeed.

Here's an alternative view of the American 'Revolution'.
http://www.redcoat.me.uk/
Don't kid yourselves; it's never been a republic.
I'm watching an invasion by proxy as I write this. Your people are the bad guys this time. I guess that is what we can expect in the Chinese World Order. Ain't much of an improvement.
An indigenous ethnic group is being slaughtered because they dare to stand up to the Chinese who are raping the countryside stealing all the resources, polluting everything, changing river flow and decimating once productive farmland, and literally raping and exporting young women because the Middle Kingdom has a self-created shortage. China is providing the arms and the money for their proxy mercenaries. It doesn't make CNN because the Princess of Death, Christiane Amanpour, has yet to come on scene. I've got photos, but I don't have posting privileges. The handiwork would make anyone with an ounce of compassion sick to his stomach.
Perhaps for once you can write something that criticizes those closer to your own gene pool, instead of noting "US citizens" in every single comment you ever make. Plenty of blame to go around. Plenty of guilt in your own hometown.
Your people? What does it mean?
Gang mind set is so deeply rooted in US citizens that they think because one acknowledges facts about one group, one has to be part of the group. Especially true if the said facts favour the group.
Here's a collection of facts that does not demand one to be chinese (or anything to be admitted, only take not to be a US citizen)
There is no Chinese world order. The current one is a US world order.
In China, no matter what, it still remains quite a lot of diverse ethnical groups. China over the 3000 years of its history has failed to achieve what the US has achieved in only 200 years.
That is the way it is.
Now, US citizenism is first and all a state of mind and very possibly, backed up by a specific genetics configuration.
US citizens exist in most groups. In China, there are a lot of US citizens bidding their time to take control.
Just like the Libyan rebels are US citizen material, covering an ethnical cleansing under humanitarian guise, China might be one day overtaken by chinese US citizen material.
If this day comes, in the few following decades, one will notice a dramatical decrease in terms of diversity.
John, replace the word "Democracy" with "Liberty" and you get an A+ on your statement from me. Democracy can still bring the tyranny of the majority. Only a Constitutional Republic built on a foundation of liberty and rule of just law can provide freedom.
Only a voluntary system can exist without impinging on liberty.
There can be no voluntary system with 2+ people.
Two people can make love. It doesn't have to be rape. But maybe you've had a different set of experiences than I have.
And yet ... can they sustain a system where they will by their own choice have sex with eachother exactly when each of them wants?
Compromise is inevitable, as are headaches.
Voluntary acts and compromise are mutaully dependent not mutually exclusive.
Lets forget the human body for a moment, which any sane person will see as sovereign ... let me focus on what we can disagree on. Physical property, more concretely land. The decision to allow someone to claim land as his own is not a voluntary one on the part of others, property rights have to be backed up by force and cohersion.
There is no more way to opt out, there is no more land to homestead ... or to paraphrase Asimov, the time when we could have the freedom of the bathroom is long long gone.
And yet parcels of land are voluntarily traded thousands of time each and every day.
I did not voluntarily give up the right to use those parcels.
The healing can not begin until this Shit Storm gets going!
start with a worldwide boycott against the "city of brotherly mace".
"This kind of war, you've gotta believe in what you're fighting for." - Me
Is it finally beginning. Sheeples rising up? YES!
Are you aware that the founder of Salon.com, David Talbot, is publicly calling for an “American Spring?”
Yeah, after he fills out all the right forms, clears it with the appropriate unions pays the appropriate fees.
It's not that he doesn't think the government should be the dominant player in every last aspect of your life. It's just that they're not going about it in quite the right way.
And I'm generally sympatico with ZH's assesment of Washington/Wall St. symbiotics and rot but the "Wall St. Protests" a couple weeks ago were just plain silly:
Marla: http://www.finemrespice.com/node/97

Mercury: People turning in the right direction is unusual enough - accept it when it comes.
I'm pretty sure DT is upset because people haven't been turning in the left direction as much as he'd hoped (or that it hasn't been working).
At least he's taken a break from Kennedy worship and Palin bashing for a change...
This clown isn't even close. What ....he thinks.. Freedom.. comes after chaos? In this divided nation?
Grow up or get strung up.
Vietnam protests brought down two presidencies. No long term fix as hippies became yuppies
The fight agains tyranny will never be won, as it will always be constant.. Even as the Constitution was being written, there were some working on taking our liberties.. Even as the Bill of Rights was being written, there were those seeking to take those very same rights.. Securing our Rights is not a battle or a war, it is a way of life.
Ah yes - rebellion will only bring tyranny, so be safe and embrace the status quo.
I'll bet King George III made similar arguments, and damn it seems he was right.
+1
Rebellion/Revolution with no destination will virtually GUARANTEE we end up worse than we are now. These clowns are just being used as "tools of the man" or "Useful Idiots". They have been baited into this crap and if we join them because we think tha they have balls or something stupid like that, we will regret it.
A wise man once said "never run FROM something run TO something". These morons have no idea what they are running to because if anyone explained the realities to them, they would crap their pants.
If you look at all of the bloody failed revolutions in history, it was due to the fact that the rabble rousers had no idea what to do once they won. The resultion power vacuum allowed a Castro, Napoleon, Stalin, or Chavez to take control. Precious few revolutions have had the moral fiber and good intent to allow them to run TO something. One of the few began back in 1776, you might know it...
The tyranny is based on FRNs. It is easy to undermine FRNs. Buy Au; buy Ag.
TPTB own more gold and silver than you, and they own something better too ... government, who can take everything from you.
I'll bet King George III made similar arguments, and damn it seems he was right.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Actually not. US citizens have this they claim to know human nature and that what they claim to be human nature is eternal.
But when you look at good King George the Third's stance on the US middle class waging class warfare on the upper class, aka US war for independence, one can notice a very different handling of the event, which indicates that by all measures, King George the Third was not a US citizen and had a totally different nature.
The US citizen nature is eternal. For example, if one compares the behaviour of US citizens to english nobles during the war of Independence and black people who fought for their freedom, one notices that US citizens renegated on their promise that Blacks who fought on their side should be freed, they re enslaved them while the english nobles who made that promise hold to it, while they were on the defeated side (hence much more pain for them to hold to their word)
They were called the Black Loyalists. The Blacks who fought for the US side, cant remember how US citizens named them but all in all, they were your typical US negro, that is material to be screwed.
Already, from the start, one can see that US citizens would concentrate human beings who are treacherous, duplicitous, had no words, while as examplified by the other side, other types of human beings exist, some who are honest, responsible and people of their word.
The US citizen nature is eternal.
Nothing is eternal except, perhaps, your pomposity.
Ah no, the US citizen nature is eternal. Since their inception, US citizen nature has not changed one bit.
Other countries, including newer ones, can state that they have expressed different facets of the human nature collectively.
The US is one country that has kept expressing the very same facets from the beginning.
So yes, so far, the US citizen nature is eternal.
Yeh and the Han treat their ethnics brothers so well. Isn't it time to check in with your PLA handlers?
He has been trying, but they are to busy trying to figure out how to replace the Dalai Lama. Maybe AnAnonymous is in line for a spiritual reincarnation and is trying to score brownie points?
Yeh and the Han treat their ethnics brothers so well. Isn't it time to check in with your PLA handlers?
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Another typical US citizen meaning nothing reaction comment. China is peopled by multiple ethnies, Han being one of them. So they might treat well or bad their own ethnics brothers or treat well or bad their non ethnics non brothers.
Ah, by the way, the guilt through association scheme, overused by US citizens, is debunked.
One has not to be a Chinese to acknowledge facts. All it takes though is not to be a US citizen.
Real change in modern day America , where not talking George Washington here.......has to be done by popular opinion based on Lawful fundamentals. Rebels will split the nation into bloody chaos, which exactly what the enemies of free speech and assembly want. Don't be fooled..
There, fixed it for you.
God, that's an annoying turn of phrase.
The NYPD appears to be in panic mode. They will fuck this up. Just give it a little time. If the pressure stays on they will fuck this up on national TV with instant-fucking-replay.
Sucks big donkey dick to be a cop today. Oh but just wait until tomorrow! Because beyond here there be God-damned monsters.
Bull Connor, we are you when they need you?
Why do you think this will remain peaceful?
Do you think that the authorities will shrink from firing upon their own people?
Why do you think that there are so many helicopters and drones in the skies everywhere across the USA, and SWAT teams in every town?
Why do you think this will remain peaceful?
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
- Thomas Jefferson.
Most Americans are under no illusions sir. The system needs to change. It must change. You can bet if the authorities try to use force and kill people, there will be an armed revolt in response. That's what the protection of the Second Amendment was for. So we can change the Government, by force if necessary.
"Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience."
~ John Locke 1690
Except that now any American willing to assert their rights and insist that their leaders adhere to their oath promising to uphold the Constitution be adhered to is considered to be a 'domestic terroritst'.
Sad thing is that our Founding Fathers foresaw how our government would evolve - and tried to prevent the concentration of power, tried to keep this from happening. When queried about the form of government we had Franklin said 'A Republic if we can keep it..." Well the Republic is dead and EMpire is collapsiong. The oligarchs have made one hell of a mess of things but managed to loot the treasury before the collapse. The question is whetehr or not the military and police will adhere to their oaths upholding the COnstitution or fall for the propagana that they are 'defending the state'.
I don't spend much time at Salon.com, but I'm pretty sure that they are in no way qualified to lead a revolution. Unless it's a Marxist revolution.
Revolutions don't have leaders. And anything with a leader is not a revolt.
Read much history?
Plenty. And the "leaders" are usually just volunteers following (or running just ahead of) the nightmare of the masses.
"We the people" was what they said. If I read it correctly at the time.
Explore your fear. If greed was good then fear is much better. For beyond here there be monsters.
OK, time to stop pretending you're a revolutionary and get back to your Burger King job in Scarsdale
No no no see i yam a interwebs security expert.
Protecting all that freedom, sort of comes with the territory.
No problem, my pleasure.
You know every move these cops make is video recorded by 10 different bystanders with streaming Internet. When someone is arrested, the protestors get their name to follow up on it and make sure you are released safely and unharmed after being charged. They have sleeping bags, food, determination, they know something is very wrong with the system. The movement is growing...the cops tried to break them last weekend and failed.
In other words, they seem to be doing a pretty good job. Leaders will emerge, as they always do.
And did you see the video where they are marching and the bankers in the balconies above are laughing and drinking ?
We are the 99% :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PiXDTK_CBY
Goddamn, those folks on the balconey need to be introduced to some high lampposts and short ropes soon. Even the broads.
Most of you reading this right now are thinking that this is interesting but he is exaggerating and this will blow over. I am here to assure you that it is not and this whole thing is about to grow exponentially as the economy continues to stagnate and people climb the learning curve.
100% correct. When I saw these videos on Monday, true Joy was in my heart. The young ones know something is very very wrong, but aren't sure quite what it is. They will figure it out - aka the monetary system.
Remember the hippies of the 1960's? Free love, drugs, sex, rock-n-roll. A life of hedonism. I was younger than them, but I never liked them for some reason. Now I know why. Those people grew up and now run the world sucking off others. It's time to take back this country!
Well said. That hippie demo is the age group born between '45 - '55. Ironically, they will suffer the most, and rightfully so.
After you reach a certain age, the death penalty is no longer an effective deterrent.
No asshole, you're attacking the wrong age group.
To be 20 years old in 1968, one would be 63 right now. The group who fucked everything up is 60-75 years old. Anyone younger was just a child during the hippy movement.
Tee hehe heeeh.
Don't say that, they'll start blaming me.
I always point to a younger guy and tell my kids that he's what fucked it up.
This time it's different?
Trust me. 99% of the Hippies are now Office Cubicle Rats and Ditch Diggers -- not Wall St Bankers. Ya gotta keep perspective on who the enemy is. It's the Serfs Versus The Oligarchs.
What a cronk of crap. The people who run the show are the siblings and the apprentices of the same people who ran the show back in the sixites. Not old hippies and they never were hippies back then.
Those who were at Kent State and the Chicago 1968 Democratic convention riots are not the people running Wall Street, the Banks, or the military /industrial complex.
The baby boomers will be out on the streets too because they are going to loose their pensions, homes (thro' fraudulent mortgage foreclosure) and savings, and as a mayority in the population that solidarity between generations will make all the difference to any demonstration inspired, or lead, by the youth of today who are a minority. Which was not the case back in the sixites.
That's true. We can't condemn a whole generation, or we are just letting TPTB divide us again. The true elite may be in that age group, but they were in Ivy League schools and secret fraternities -- not out on San Fransisco street corners smoking weed and plucking a guitar.
Nobel writing, and hope Salon's cause gains traction...however, I am unfortunately skepical of any broad based "uprising" as long as Dancing with the Stars, Jersey Shore, Housewives of (insert location), Starbucks, iPads/Touch, and what Charlie Sheen did today remain the priority of the majority (read: stupid) voting base.
Thinking the same thing. As long as the television mind-control can portray those participants as nothing but losers and trouble-makers undeserving of sympathy the revolution will stall. I saw when CNBC did a pan of the protestors one morning and you could see the CNBC hosts dripping with disdain as they looked at the 'thugs'. In fact the snide comment was 'Look at them protesting in front of the Hermes store'.
The press is compromised and all doubts of this has been removed with the handling of Ron Paul. All stations no matter whether siding with Red or Blue denied his presence. Even when talking heads on camera were demanding that the focus needed to be shifted off of Perry/Romney and onto other candidates, they bypassed Paul. (Fuck you Huckabee) Good thing they know what's best for us and we need to be shielded like children from the Ron Paul ideology. Nice of them to decide which ideals are worth our time, save us the effort of deciding for ourselves.
The outrage will come from an event that brings clarity to the good/evil and will be impossible to hide or obfuscate.
vote =5,56 or 7.69x 39 or 308
...early and often.
d) All the above.
News to expect in the coming days and weeks:
In the coming weeks and days...those were your words. You really believe this after this vote??
In the months, years, maybe...but in the weeks, days, ...???
What is there that we don't know, that TPTB, the big boys, are planning via "market plays"?
Nah! Its because of Netflix price increase, more free time for the unemployeds now ready to rebel. Talk about unintended consequences. Won't last.
Seems like it is time for a Leroy Jenkins battle cry.
larry flint has also written a peice calling for revolt, i think its on huff
sorry about the blankness, the comment box at zerohedge is the most difficult on the internet
It OK Richard, the blankness is more insightful than some of the stuff I've read on the internet
I thought he was making a statement.
Like he hooked up with Yoko or something.

May I suggest that everyone on ZH who hasn't already done so familiarize themselves with the writings of H. L. Mencken
http://www.mencken.org/
Just in case anyone is under the illusion that any of this is new.
Ever read what Mencken wrote about Lincoln and the Gettysburg address? Priceless . . . But if you're a state-worshiping Yankee you won't like it at all.
Yeah no. Not even close to rebellion in the US. Will only happen when people cannot afford their toys and entertainment. Of course then is will be wildly lashing out without rhyme, reason, or purpose. I expect that it would be fairly easily put down by the trained legion of killers in the oligarchs employ that the masses are forced to pay for.
What I do expect to see is a rise in violence, but that's it so long as the mas man can ignore it while stuffing their face full of junk food, prescription drugs, and booze while mindlessly watching TV. And really what society would be formed from a successful rising up of this mass man? Perhaps the new Constitution will have a TV in every room (including the shower) and Brawndo on tap.
Americans are generally fat, stupid, fearful and lazy and as long as they have their beer, bass boats, and ball games, they will be tame as the sheep they are.
5.56, easy to find, cheap, light, almost anyone can use it (without needing shoulder protection)
God bless.
Unfortunatelly now we can expect gov "agencies" sending their man inside protester groups to nasty nasty things, diversions etc. To discredit and destroy protesters from inside
I do not think you guys should hang scum like Dimon and Blankfein to the lamp posts on Wall St.... But if you do, I will forgive you for it.
An American rebellion? Someone wake me up, thats a misunderstanding. Its just a line for the iphone5. Americans get worked about 2 things, iphone releases and baseball fights. Everything else is a big yawn.
Good attempt at sarcasm
I am an immigrant to America and just a frank observation, NAFTA, outsourcing, H-1s, banksters, fake wars and guess when the nation gets excited-
1) Black Friday
2) Targets recent designer Missoni sale
3) iphone release
4) Arizonas illegal immigrant crackdown (though not baseless but hardly a key issue when trillions are gobbled up elsewhere)
5) Obamas birth certificate
6) Of course American idol and dancing with the stars.
No offense to anyone here, but I wouldn't follow david talbot to a friggin dog show. Some of the others have some good and valid points and ideas, but that guys a world class socialist if I ever seen one.
mr1963 says: No offense to anyone here, but I wouldn't follow david talbot to a friggin dog show. Some of the others have some good and valid points and ideas, but that guys a world class socialist if I ever seen one.
I'll take a socialist who stands up to a bankster any day over a conservative and/or libertarian who gets ass-raped by one and does nothing about it.
A socialist puppet whose strings are being jerked by the bankers? Now you're just being silly.
XitSam says: A socialist puppet whose strings are being jerked by the bankers? Now you're just being silly.
Spoken like a true fascist bankster.
Some protester stood in front of one of the banks shreaking that the bank was rtesponsible for his parents losing their house. A reporter from Politico talked to the protester, actually called his parents and found out their house had NOT been foreclosed on, and they only owe about $70K on their $500K mortgage. The mom earns $100K/yr, the dad has 2, two PhD's and earns God only knows how much. The protester is a law student, why he's not in class is beyond me. His annual schooling costs $70K+. Of course he will make a good liar (oops meant lawyer) because they're only lying when their lips are moving.
there is always one, sometimes more
Well, there you have it. One man lied during a protest, so of course that invalidates the entire protest. I mean, it's not like the banks or government lie. And his lie is not a truth for someone else.
Sheesh.
The remedy is there. It's time to study the Law and understand who you are. Accept the public servants oath and when they perjure their oath file criminal complaints. All these statutes and codes only apply to US Citizens. We are not US Citizens, we are the sovereigns. Government exists to protect our god given rights!

I very much appreciate your stance and research, jj. However, I think that tactic is a dead-end... not because it is inherently a bad idea, but because the courts are owned by the state.
A hundred years ago it might have worked. Now, it is a waste, however rooted in nobility it may be. Leviathan will protect itself - one organ will not stop the other from feeding upon our lives.
And I humbly disagree: Government exists to further it's own interests.
I'll believe it when I see it. The VAST majority of people in America do not deserve the freedom that was quite literally fought and died for by our Founding Patriots. There was an American Spring....it was called the Revolution. People protested, rioted, burned the king in effigy, tarred and feather King's officials, vandalized the goods and services of the East India Trading Company (the Wal Mart of the day) when the Boston Tea Party was held, and eventually shot, bayonetted, blew apart with cannon fire, hacked off limbs and heads with sabers more of the King's men including mercenary Germans than they did us.
Now....most, if not all so called conservatives, libertarians and Tea Partiers, just sit on their ass and listen to Neil Boortz, Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Rusty Humphries, Glen Beck, Ron Paul, Micahel Medved, etc, etc, day in and day out uselessly bitch and moan about the situation.
And what is sadder still is that it is SALON.COM for Christ's sake that seemingly is leading the charge to revolution. Cornell West was there ? Holy Shit ! That isane moron was there but not Rush Limbaugh? Oh....I forgot the protest was at Wall Street which Rush and Sean and the rest of the conver/libertariantards worship. They and their millions of mindless minions (which I was one for 20 years....started listening to Rush when he was a nobody in Sacremento, CA) still think that Wall Street and the riches one can make through capitalism is part of the so called American Dream. They are secular priests of a message many are not buying anymore and reality is showing that what they really are worshiping is a form of fascism.
And these idiots cannot seem to call a spade a spade and see reality for what it is. It is no longer left and right but up and down, serf vs. elties. And since the above mention bitch show hosts are certainly now in the elites....damn straight they are not going to call for a revolution....for it will effect their life styles.
However, in the end, even if there is a revolution, it will end up being what the Who sang....
MEET THE NEW BOSS....SAME AS THE OLD BOSS.
well put, sir
Say this again
"The VAST majority of people in America do not deserve the freedom that was quite literally fought and died for by our Founding Patriots."
Not one thing about this situation is known; not one ideological nay-sayer, clairvoyant clown or pragmatic rationalist will be proven correct and by the end almost everyone will have to eat their words - or dirt, or worse.
Take care who you follow/what you believe. You give others power and they will happily take it from you. Choose wisely what you attend to.
Command of attention is power.
scientia potentia est
Mike, this was a beautiful, exciting and inspiring piece of writing.
Keep writing. Your work is getting sharper and sharper.
Unfortunately, the American Public Education system has failed protesters who are going to try to have an American Winter at the 40th Parallel. The Arabs were smart enough to go for Spring.
Maybe they figured 8 degrees latitude further south than Stalingrad it might be different this time.
YAWNNNN!
We have been in a civil war for quite some time over debt bondage (slavery). The welfare state, funded now by the Federal Reserve, now lays claim to 25% of the GDP, and likely much more depending on how you calculate it. It is well over 50% if you add in all taxes, much less $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities. We've sold our children into debt bondage to pay for our retirements. Since it is clear that this is unsustainable, we have to head to a civil war of some sort, but it won't look like CWI.
Our military is too aligned with conservatives to fight the populace, so the regime has to resort to a proxy army of unionists, illegals, anarchists and EPA bureaucrats with the BATFE to try and keep the masses at bay. But people are figuring out the Fed scam which now funds much of this and are hiding their money. Who knows, maybe Bitcoins will save the day. What we do know is the walls are collapsing on the whole financial structure.
What everyone on Zerohedge knows deep in their hearts is that they have to hunker down because tthe size of the financial problems just dwarf any rational solution. We are seeing this whirlpool now in the Eurozone, but the fun there is just starting. We are next.

Is this a new reality show?
Yes... yes, it is!! Tell your neighbors!!!!!!
I don't know what is worse--being one of those "fortunate" enough to be paying a low tax rate because you are in one of the lower tax rates, and out of real work, or a kid of the super-rich; spoiled, painfully aware that your dad or mom are part of one of the most corrupt, kleptocratic, and dishonest groups of oligarchs to ever walk this living planet...And those kids are full of insecurities and if they rebel, you can be sure they will be put on one of many soporiphics or palliatives to cure their "mental illnesses".
And that is how the Wall Street and other such criminals will fight back; to brand these rebels "terrorists", "crazy", very much in need of "help". We can be sure the mayor will say that he hears their pain, but we must live in the world that we have rather than the one of idealists.
"The American populace is now in the very beginnings of a state of open peaceful rebellion against the criminal oligarchic mafia that runs the nation through fraud and corruption. It will be a peaceful and constitutional rebellion and it will end with new ways of doing things, more freedoms and a very long road toward rebuilding a safe, fair, free and localized society once TPTB’s prison planet grid of control has been torn down forever."
Mark it down--TPTB will never concede their postions, power, and wealth without a real fight. Words will not stop them. All they understand is brute power and force. If you have a friend or relative who serves in the military or law enforcement, ask them whose side they'll take when the shit hits the fan, and then plan accordingly. And remember this--the largest army in the world is the army of American deer hunters. Also, the elite are able to exist because many of us (not me!) supply their eyes and ears, hands and feet, out here in the boondocks and provinces. Stop that, and you'll largely stop them because they will then be blind and deaf and unable to do much of anything outside the Beltway and Wall Street. Don't serve them and don't feed them.
It's really up the the top .01% on what the outcome will be:
We tarred and feathered them during the revolutionary war - the french designed a nice little toy called the gullitine to deal with them during htheir revolution.
The ruskies Lined them up against the wall and put a few rounds into them and their children
fDR and Eisenhower taxed them at up to 90% on ncomes over 3 million.
The choice is theirs -
which will they choose?
GIABO!
